Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

@Oldermum80 I'm due 3 days after you. Also testing obsessively after some chemical pregnancies. I completely get it!

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 10:49

@Sussexbysea husband was googling for me after I said I'd have to steal my son's as he has strawberry flavour. Colgate make it, he's ordered it through amazon. I don't drink tea at all, never liked it. Even breakfast has made me feel awful this morning. It's my scan that's 26th August. I haven't heard from midwife about booking in appointment yet tho. I'll give it til the end of the week and then phone. I have got the mobile number for the community midwife, so I can phone her directly.

Clara9 · 21/07/2020 11:02

@ValidUser I would love twins! 👯‍♀️/👯‍♂️!!!

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 11:03

@Headingtowardsforty sorry lovely, I got your names mixed up.

That’s good you’ve got their number, maybe they are just so busy at the moment. Although I read online that the baby boom
Isn’t as big as they expected. But every area will be different xx

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 11:09

@Sussexbysea that's okay, blame it on baby brain! Gp gave me her number straight away with a message of she's happy to have calls. Think it must be a different one from last time!

Hope it's not a big baby boom, I do remember thinking that it would be a lot of first time parents if there was, because no parent in their right mind would get pregnant when stuck at home with their kids - what do I know?!

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 11:36

@ValidUser I also had a chemical even between my first and second miscarriage. I have tested early every month and was told to step away from the tests, but I’d rather know either way then I can deal with it rather than get excited at a late period which doesn’t work out.

Clara9 · 21/07/2020 11:43

Welcome to the group, @Oldermum80. It’s understandable that you’re feeling anxious, as you might see a few of us on here are too. It’s why I’m so glad I found this group! Nice to feel supported by people who get it- especially when it’s too early to tell people yet.

bibs124 · 21/07/2020 11:43

@Oldermum80 I'm feeling the same but trying to resist testing, luckily I only have one test left in the house but have ordered two digitalis and that's where I will draw the line I think. I'm 4 weeks + 1 and haven't had many symptoms, last few days none at all. I have read however morning sickness usually starts 6 weeks on.. I would take the sickness just to know everything is okay!

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 11:48

@bibs124 I have used them all up now so I can’t retest but have two clear blue digital to use with the weeks indicator but waiting for a few days in the hope I get 2-3+. Also ordered more cheapies though after saying I wouldn’t!
I stopped testing when I got my positive on the day of my missed period last time, but think it’s because it’s my last chance and my miscarriage was pretty horrific right in the middle of lockdown so I’d rather be prepared.
I am constantly peeing and my boobs are so sore so taking that as good signs! Smile

ValidUser · 21/07/2020 11:49

@Oldermum80 I'm the same. Knowing about the chemicals also helped diagnose a clotting disorder. If I didn't know about that, our ivf would likely never have worked.

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 11:50

@Clara9 thank you. I wasn’t going to join as it was hard after joining due Nov then having to leave, so I have been lurking until this morning, but you’re right, it is good to have support.

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 11:50

@Headingtowardsforty parents during lockdown must have been having a cheeky wham bam whilst the kids were entertained or like me, a quickie after the little one had gone to bed 🤣🤣

Oldermum80 · 21/07/2020 11:55

@ValidUser I was told at the EPU that it wasn’t healthy for my well-being to test so early, but I figured if something was happening that was causing it, then I could at least have a chance by trying to fix it. If you don’t know, you could just keep putting it down to a late period.
Nice to hear a positive story about testing early, as so many people seem against it and I understand why because of the emotions, but it just goes to show, sometimes it’s a good thing.

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 12:20

@Sussexbysea something like that in this house too! 😂😂

Clara9 · 21/07/2020 12:33

The bloating omg! Is anyone else having problems with this? Had to go and buy some floaty dresses as I’m uncomfortable in my jeans. Part pregnancy bloat, part lockdown weight gain 😂🙄

ValidUser · 21/07/2020 12:42

@Clara9 yup!

ValidUser · 21/07/2020 12:43

(But some might be residual from IVF meds for me)

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 12:51

@Clara9 I feel really pregnant, my bloat is high up and I’ll be doing the hair band trick to my shorts soon. Working from home is hard because the dining room chair is uncomfortable

ValidUser · 21/07/2020 12:56

@Sussexbysea what is this hairband trick? I'm intrigued!

Pippy20 · 21/07/2020 13:28

Hi ladies - hoping I can join, found out last week that I’m pregnant - had a missed mc back in February picked up at the scan and I’m absolutely bricking it. I can’t shake the feeling of it’s all going to go wrong again and debating whether or not to get a scan at 8 weeks for a bit of reassurance. I really want to be excited and happy but finding it impossible at the moment ☹️ x

Headingtowardsforty · 21/07/2020 13:29

I'm not as bloated as I was when I first found out. But now I'm finding I can't lean forward for long or I feel like I'm squashing my stomach. I finally don't feel sick anymore, but just considering a nap.

ValidUser · 21/07/2020 13:48

@Pippy20 a scan sounds like a good idea. I get one because I'm with a fertility clinic, but even if I weren't I'd definitely pay for one. It might help. x

Sussexbysea · 21/07/2020 14:03

@ValidUser this isn’t me by the way. Saves buying new shorts/ jeans for a little while longer
