Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

The boob situation is getting worse for me too.

We’re off to Chessington in a couple of weeks over night, I’ll go and be the one to hold the bags. I’ll still get on the Gruffalo ride yay!! 💗

Hope you hear from the community midwives today

SmileyT · 20/07/2020 07:53

@Sussexbysea you're 6weeks? It feels like well over a week since you got 5weeks (3weeks on CB) when was that? Time is obviously going even slower than I thought, I'm only 5w4 so not much going on 😴 I'm all good it's just a long wait to see if there is going to be a baby inside there, still got 3weeks until my scan at 8weeks. Are you drinking loads of water? I'm trying to drink a min of 2L, which is a struggle sometimes but definitely think it helps with waking up with dry mouth after really salty food. Have you got a scan booked in? x

Clara9 · 20/07/2020 07:57

@jemimafuddleduck it’s getting earlier every day! Seven, then six and 4.30 today!

Headingtowardsforty · 20/07/2020 08:03

@Sussexbysea they're off to thorpe park today so there is literally nothing I can go on. When we next do Chessington/Legoland I'll go as there's a few bits that are okay. But I love roller-coasters and hate having to hold the bags all day! Nice to have the chance to just put my feet up too.

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 08:11

@SmileyT midwife and my conception dates all point to 6 weeks. I’ll go with that until my scan.
I’m trying and making more of an effort this week. Got some water in the fridge getting nice and cold. No scan booked in yet, guess it’ll be around 10-11 weeks before I have my NHS scan. I don’t want to have a scan early And everything be fine and then get to my dating scan and then things aren’t fine. I couldn’t deal with that

PeggySue83 · 20/07/2020 08:12

Glad yo hear I'm not the only one waking up way too early every morning. I sleep very poorly as well tossing and turning and going to the loo every two hours. I can't imagine what it's going to be like with a big belly! Confused

PeggySue83 · 20/07/2020 08:12

*to, not yo Grin

Holly6097 · 20/07/2020 08:24

Hi @Belle1983 and @Clara9. Thanks for your replies. I'd had lots of issues since coming off the pill last July and was referred in February to a specialist to have some fertility tests because I thought there was something wrong and I might not be able to have children naturally, so this is something we've wanted for a long time! We were the same and didn't want to put our life on hold. I need to stop worrying about what other people think, because I am over the moon that I'm pregnant and so is my husband! Congrats to all of you and hope all goes well! Thanks for everything you're doing @Belle1983! Hope you're doing well 😊!

SmileyT · 20/07/2020 09:19

@Sussexbysea ahh that makes sense then, yeah the CB aren't exactly accurate so definitely go with midwife and last period date 👌🏾 no that makes sense about the scan, I think i'm think the opposite that I'm just so nervous that I'd get to my dating scan and pregnancy would have stopped 6weeks before and I would've lost a whole cycle of trying. So going for 8weeks and then maybe another one at 10weeks 🙈 has it all sunk in for you now? I just feel like there is nothing to do for the next month and after a few months of trying I don't know what to do with myself now 😂 x

Sh4mmy · 20/07/2020 09:39

Hey!! New member here, just found out I'm expecting, I'm about 5w 3d! My situation is a bit messed up so hoping everyone's posts might help me chill a bit!

Bit about me, 41, have 3 kids already, 2 teens and a 6 year old, lost a baby at 9 weeks 2 years ago! This baby wasn't planned, partner and I have only been together for 4 months so as you can imagine my head is in a spin! Anyone been in similar positions I would love to hear your experiences x

Clara9 · 20/07/2020 10:16

For anyone feeling anxious or stressed there is a great book by the guy that does Headspace. It’s about mindfulness during pregnancy and I’m really enjoying it.

jemimafuddleduck · 20/07/2020 10:40

Thanks @Clara9 - I might check that out.
I have an early scan a week tomorrow (I'll be 7 weeks) and it can't come soon enough! I'm so anxious as this has been a really long awaited pregnancy and we were told we couldn't have children (had 5 failed rounds of IVF).

On a TMI note - has anyone dtd since finding out? The nurse told me it was fine but I feel a bit too scared to?!

bibs124 · 20/07/2020 10:55

Hi everyone, can I please join? Got my BFP on Thursday and est due date is 29th March. I've not had many symptoms yet which is making me a bit anxious, I've had nausea on Saturday but not Sunday or today so far. I've been quite gassy and boobs are tender but not very sore. Has anyone else had little symptoms too? This is baby number one so I have no idea what to expect!

mummy20177 · 20/07/2020 10:59

Just rang the doctors to check if I needed to cancel my smear test and she cancelled it for me, and made me an appointment to see the midwife for my first appointment, it won't be over the phone I have to go into the doctors. 14th august and I'll be 10+4 xx

Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 11:23

I booked my booking in appointment today - 18th August at local children's centre I'll be 9 weeks at that point 🥰🥰🥰 do partners attend those appointments? I believe they can if they want to so i guess I'll leave it up to him

jemimafuddleduck · 20/07/2020 11:33

@bibs124 Congratulations! I'm also not getting lots of symptoms either, I'm very bloated but that's the only real thing.

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 11:35

@Bl0ndi3 glad you got it all booked in. Partners can attend but there’s not much to take in really. They’ll check in ok your mental health, make sure you are safe at home, make sure you know what not to eat etc. Last time, My partner attended the 1st midwife appointment after my dating Scan which is around 16 weeks so he could hear the heart beat and the last appointment when I had a sweep

Bl0ndi3 · 20/07/2020 11:39

@Sussexbysea yeah I think I'll let him decide if he wants to come or not. He can come as he's off work that day he works 4 on 4 off work pattern so I guess he just needs to choose whether he wants to x

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 11:49

@SmileyT is this your first?

This will be my second and I have a 3.5 year old to run after and keep entertained. I’ve got a feeling I’ll be 21 weeks before I know it. We were planning some trips away and are having to be mindful of when we go, I don’t want to be full term and stuck in Cornwall having to go on super long walks.

Holly6097 · 20/07/2020 11:50

Hey @bibs124, congratulations! I've still hardly got any symptoms either and I'm just over 7 weeks now. My booking in appointment is over the phone and I'll be 9 wks + 4 days then. I really wish I could see someone in person but I assumed it was all over the phone because of the current situation.

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 11:51

@bobloblawlawblog crazy isn’t it! Hve you started taking vitamins you wouldn’t usually take? That’s usually the culprit

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 11:53

@Headingtowardsforty I love Thorpe park too, and we had a day out planned too just for us two.

Hope you’re enjoying a day with your feet up watching crap tv!

Headingtowardsforty · 20/07/2020 11:54

Oh I wish midwives would hurry up and make contact to book my booking in appointment! I hate all the waiting.

peonyrose87 · 20/07/2020 11:56

@Bl0ndi3 partners can attend but there's really no need for them to! It's just a whole load of questions about your health, mental health etc and not a lot to do with baby!

Sh4mmy · 20/07/2020 12:08

@jemimafuddleduck in reference to your question about DTD...yep we've done it...quite a few times which is unusual as I was totally off sex with my other 3, it makes me nervous still but it's fine and also I think it's good to keep the intimacy too!! X
