Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

Thankyou @Holly6097 you too!! So exciting! Haha I will also have to do a secret mission to ring the drs or I won't be able to hear them over my 2 noisy children, so I know how that feels. My last two children I had bloods taken at midwife appointment and then went to the hospital for a scan, but maybe they are doing things differently now. It may just be the booking appointment over the phone, then in for bloods and then the scan at your local hospital. Yes I'm so lucky to have my two little girls, I'm excited too I'm just still a little in shock, lol! I've always found out so early so I wanted to wait a little before I ring them but I think I'll ring them at the end of next week when I'm closer to 8 weeks Xx

Hi @helia, that’s so funny! My friend just named her baby Clara too, so it’s becoming more popular I think. This is my first pregnancy so I’m just basically nervous about everything!

ElsiesJourney · 19/07/2020 20:16

@clara9 me too!!! I'm in the half in shock and half overwhelmed with all of the things to think about!?!?

Clara9 · 19/07/2020 20:21

@ElsiesJourney same! I keep trying to tell myself that what will be will be, but I like being in control, so it’s easier said than done! 😂😂😂. It’s a big change isn’t it?! We were planning it, but were still in total shock when it actually came back positive!

helia · 19/07/2020 20:22

@Clara9 We definitely caught a trend with our son's name too! My name is pretty popular for women my age and if I'm honest, both DH and I are the type to want to blend in rather than standout so I don't think we could choose something too outlandish... although I do quite like Barnby and Raphael for a boy! Blush This is my second pregnancy - DS will be four soon! I can barely remember what it was like the first time so this all feels brand new again. We haven't hurried into having another for various reasons but I'm excited now that it's happening. I was quite happy being "one and done" for ages (spoiler: sleep deprivation is hard and if you're unlucky they won't sleep through the night until they are three years old, and that's just a killer). Grin DS will be a fantastic big brother and he should be nicely settled in reception by March.

helia · 19/07/2020 20:25

That was meant to be Barnby, by the way!

helia · 19/07/2020 20:25

Barnaby... What is with the autocorrect on my phone? Hmm

Clara9 · 19/07/2020 20:34

@helia I think that’s a brilliant name.

Holly6097 · 19/07/2020 21:15

@mummy20177 Aww good luck with that then! Thank you! Yes that sounds like a good idea 😊! Aww @helia I like the name Barnaby. It's a cute name! My husband and I can't seem to agree on names atm and he keeps saying it's too early to think about names but I want to be optimistic and hope everything will go well. I've been thinking about names for years lol, waiting for this time! Have any of you told anyone yet other than your OHs? I'm going to wait til 12 weeks I think, when I have had my 1st scan.

ElsiesJourney · 19/07/2020 21:37

@Holly6097 just one friend who lives pretty far away but is one of my best. Felt like I needed someone other than OH to support me really as I'm at risk if overwhelming him too. Don't get me wrong, he's fab but will very much want to take things one step at a time until 12 weeks. Other than that will wait for my scan I think.... unless I start to feel much worse and then maybe my work besties

Hi guys. So I have a bit of a dilemma! I’m 19 and in a long distance relationship, also suffered with ovarian cysts for years. My partner and I had unprotected sex 7 days ago, and I believe (with help from my Flo app too) that I have ovulated either the day before or maybe 2 days after. I have lots of symptoms of pregnancy but I just don’t know because they are obviously all so similar to PMS at the early stages. My period is due in a week but my partner made me take the Morning after pill 4 days after we had sex. The pharmacist said it’s possible that the pill won’t work due to me ovulating before.

Is there any possible way of knowing already?
My lower stomach feels heavy, I have very mild cramping for the past couple of days. I just don’t know. I need advice! 😆

Googljnky · 19/07/2020 21:57

Hello ladies I’m an older mom in my 40’s . I have 4 year old home so this is #2 for hubby and I.. due date March 20,2021Smile I’m a little nervous cause we’ve been trying for 3 years and I finally feel pregnant even though my symptoms are a little different than before. My boobs aren’t sore but I been having headaches every day for about a week. Creamy vaginal mucus, fatigue , terrible constipation and so much gas.. only got one positive digital but urine hcg was neg at health clinic. Have 1st ob/gyn apt in am

Googljnky · 19/07/2020 22:00

Forgot to add this is another rainbow baby for us... I’ve had atleast 5 prior chemicals. I stopped testing earlier. This is the first time I am late.. 10 days late now

Holly6097 · 19/07/2020 22:02

Hi @ElsiesJourney! Aw I've been tempted to tell my best friend but not sure if I should yet. I know what you mean though. My OH keeps saying we should wait til 12 weeks to talk about things like names and doing up the nursery etc. I'm eager to get organised but don't want to get too excited until I've had my 12 week scan. I may end up confiding in my friend. She knows we've been TTC.

Holly6097 · 19/07/2020 22:10

Aw congratulations @Googljnky! Hope it all goes well 😊. Sorry @Xxykprincessxx I don't know if you'd have any way of knowing yet. My first symptom was cramping about a week after when I think I ovulated and I don't really usually get cramping. It was quite bad. I remember lying on the floor with a cushion under my back watching TV because it was all in my lower abdomen and back. Do you usually get cramping though before your period? I don't really, so this was why I thought it was probably implantation with me.
You might need to wait and see if your period arrives next week or not and then go from there. Sorry to not be any more helpful. Hope you're ok!

Xxykprincessxx · 19/07/2020 22:17

Hi @Holly6097 😊 thank you for your help! So I usually get really bad cramps before my period like I’m already on it. But these are different, they’re not as bad and I just can’t tell if this is all just side effects from the pill

ElsiesJourney · 19/07/2020 22:19

@holly6097 someone I know who was also TTC said to me a while ago that she was going to tell a few people early because if anything does go wrong it can be a very lonely place if you've told nobody. So that sort of plays on my mind a bit as well.

Hi @Holly6097.
I get what you mean about the world being in not such a great place.
I work in a hospital, and I'm still worried there will be a second wave. It certainly feels like the NHS expects it.
I don't think any of us should really be waiting for a better time though. Is there such thing?
No one could have expected something like covid.
I am worried there will still be restrictions in place that will affect our experiences, but anyone who thinks we should wait can just keep quiet as far as I'm concerned. At 37, I've waited long enough!!!
Congratulations, and hope all goes well xx

Clara9 · 20/07/2020 04:56

I’ve had similar comments from family, @Holly6097. But when is it ever safe to bring a baby into the world? There is always war, famine etc., and yes, it’s a scary time now, but we decided to keep trying rather than put our lives on hold.

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I keep waking up earlier and earlier (hence this 5am message!!!). I’ve bought a mediation audiobook so fingers crossed that will work!

jemimafuddleduck · 20/07/2020 06:12

@Clara9 YES! I'm awake early every day at the moment and it's driving me crazy! It was 4am yesterday 😭

Sussexbysea · 20/07/2020 06:39

@Headingtowardsforty @SmileyT how you ladies doing today. I’m 6 weeks today (I think) the Chinese last night was epic but only managed half my usual feast. Woke up with a dry mouth this morning though

Headingtowardsforty · 20/07/2020 07:08

@Sussexbysea morning! Doing okay this morning. My breasts are killing me tho, can't turn over in bed without holding on to them! Glad you enjoyed your Chinese last night.

My dh and ds are off out to a theme park today, so I plan on having a very lazy day as there's no point going with them. By my reckoning I'm 7 weeks tomorrow.

bobloblawlawblog · 20/07/2020 07:23

Oh my god the CONSTIPATION. I swear I look full on pregnant at the moment and it's actually because I NEED TO POOP!
