Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

@SmileyT......Congratulations.
Thanks for the reply. Honestly after what happen I'm like super sensitive to everything. Think that's why I'm probably overthinking about going back to work.

Yeah thats the understanding I had, I have a meeting my boss so will have a chat with her, we have to say when we are pregnant due to safety reasons, which I struggle with due to it being so early but it's understandable. Will see what they say but that has put my mind at ease. xx

Cmclaughlin94 · 15/07/2020 10:50

Yes! I brought a pack of 50! For me it's the joy of seeing 2 lines after years of only having one!

bobloblawlawblog · 15/07/2020 10:53

I got one of those clear blue combo ones that has a rapid and digital with weeks in and the bloody weeks one came up as error and faulty! I wanted to see if it has moved along as well!

Cmclaughlin94 · 15/07/2020 11:02

@bobloblawlawblog I tried one of them and it didn't work at all nothing came up, good job I wasn't relying on that for a result.

Belle1983 · 15/07/2020 11:03

@bobloblawlawblog... was thinking of doing this on Sunday (week after first test) just in case I dreamed it all!

Headingtowardsforty · 15/07/2020 11:16

Morning everyone, I feel rubbish today. My boobs are so uncomfortable (and have been since last night), I could fall asleep where I am and feeling sick too. Joy! Have to remind myself these are all good things really. Completing my self referral form in a moment and calling midwives later as I'm now past 6 weeks (just!).

Headingtowardsforty · 15/07/2020 11:32

Don't you wish that gp and hospital would talk to each other. I've completed my self referral form and gp told me I had to phone maternity to book my booking in appointment. Just phoned them, oh no, we'll pass your form to the community midwife and then she'll contact you! So now I wait again. I just want to get things moving and know I've got things booked in.

Sussexbysea · 15/07/2020 11:36

@bobloblawlawblog the CB digital tests only go up to 3+ weeks which is annoying too.

Sussexbysea · 15/07/2020 11:39

@Headingtowardsforty it’s crap isn’t it. My GP Is shite. Totally not helpful and kept suggesting that I hadn’t told anyone. Because I’m under a consultant, the GP gets a bit left behind and I’m so happy about that!!

I’m so gassy, can’t stop burping or popping! My dull aches come and go but I know it’s all part of what’s to come 💗 I’m so excited for my first scan!x

Symphony87 · 15/07/2020 11:50

My GP are not very good either. When I told them I got ‘congratulations. Call the midwife’ and they weren’t too helpful when I asked for the number. It’s taken me a week to get an appointment to speak to the gp about medication I’m on. Only metformin for pcos but I was told to stop it until I spoke to a gp. I need to ask about the higher dose of folic acid as I have a high bmi which makes me worry.

The Midwife I spoke to complained she was getting too many calls each day and booked me in for an hour long phonecall in two weeks. No mention of bloods or scans or anything like that yet

Headingtowardsforty · 15/07/2020 12:29

@Sussexbysea I know the feeling about burping all the time. The moment I'm hungry I start to burp and then that makes me feel sick!

The only comfort about gp is that they did give me the community midwife phone number, so if I haven't heard in a week I'll give her a call. I will end up under consultant care too because of my underactive thyroid, so I know the hospital will take over soon enough.

Sussexbysea · 15/07/2020 12:33

@Headingtowardsforty you’re and under and I’m an over active 👍🏻

@Symphony87 I’m on a higher BMI too and have started my extra folic acid. It’s really nothing to worry about, it’s just that our bodies need more to help. Call you gp and explain and they should be able to prescribe you over the phone. That’s what happened to me anyway. Each hospital trust and GO are so different

Headingtowardsforty · 15/07/2020 12:47

@Sussexbysea wondering if I should phone and ask gp to prescribe me extra folic acid as well. My bmi is over 30 too, but I didn't need to take extra last time, though that was a long time ago!

Sakura54 · 15/07/2020 13:02

@Sussexbysea that's sad what your daughter asked. Hopefully we'll get our rainbows this time. When do you think you'll tell her? I'm going to wait for my scan before deciding when to tell DS and nephew. I didn't get a bump until I was heavily pregnant with DS so unless I start to show earlier, they probably won't notice anything.

Last time my GP referred me to the wrong hospital as apparently I'm the only person who's ever asked for a different hospital, so this time I referred myself and surprisingly had my booking in appt way too early at less than 6 weeks!

Sussexbysea · 15/07/2020 13:27

@Sakura54 isn’t it. I think I’ll tell her once we have a scan photo and we know everything is ok. She will be so happy. X

SmileyT · 15/07/2020 13:48

@LauraMay09 yeah that is totally understandable to be worried about everything. My friend at work is 13weeks so about 8weeks ahead so I've just been sneakily asking her whether there is anything she did and what my manager said so that I don't have to have the conversation myself 🙈

And with all the self-referrals it's so interesting how different each GP/ hospital trust is. The GP was like so what do you need, when I told the receptionist I was pregnant last time - I didn't even know what I needed 😂 but this time just picked the hospital I wanted to go to and contacted them, last time booking appointment was booked for around 11 weeks I think 🤔 so probably still got another 6 to wait before I talk to anyone about this 🤯

lookingatthings · 15/07/2020 13:58

@bumblingalonghappily yes the more I think about it the more o like the idea of the two birthdays so close. They'll be almost bang on 2 years apart, so friends for life o hope!

Symptom wise DS1 is suddenly nursing much more during the day than he was, so my nipples are taking a battering, but he has lots of teeth coming through, so I imagine it would have felt the same anyway. The tip off for me was being sick after eating three days in a row, that's what prompted me to test.
I read that symptoms can be more pronounced second time round, but also that you might not get the same symptoms or, any. I know for me last time I was ravenous all the time from very early on (I gained 40lbs!) But so far that hasnt happened yet, if anything I've lost my appetite.

@Sussexbysea I'm sure DS1 (and DDog too!) knows something. Both have been particularly clingy the last few weeks.

@Cmclaughlin94 @bobloblawlawblog
I got two duds on those multipack CBS as well.

I sort of wish I hadn't tested till next week. It's such a long wait!

bobloblawlawblog · 15/07/2020 14:28

So the general consensus is that those clear blue digital ones often malfunction then! I got a nice big cross on the normal one so feel reassured I am definitely pregnant haha. I think I'm really lucky in terms of my area as the GP dealt with it all really fast!

lookingatthings · 15/07/2020 14:53

@bobloblawlawblog

Can't fault the CM team here either. Had a lovely chat even though she was clearly busy, and all booked in. Just a waiting game now. Is this the first time for you , or have you done it all before? I feel so much less anxious than I did with DS, which in a way leaves me feeling more excited: hopefully less anxiety means I'll enjoy the pregnancy 🤞

bobloblawlawblog · 15/07/2020 14:57

Second time round, my son just turned 3. I appear to have forgotten everything about pregnancy though and am asking google too much. My friends and family have convinced me I'm having twins so I'm super paranoid!

bobloblawlawblog · 15/07/2020 14:57

I think I just want the scan to get this idea of twins out of my head!!

lookingatthings · 15/07/2020 15:08

Do you have twins in your families? Ack I think that would tip me over the edge! I've made my peace with the idea of a newborn and a 2yr old,but two newborns? I'd move my mother in and myself out I think!

bobloblawlawblog · 15/07/2020 15:45

Twins on my side (twin uncles) and loads on his. He has twin brothers and twin unclesx2 I think

ALew15 · 15/07/2020 16:51

Is it weird I want my heartburn to come back? Having zero symptoms at the moment. 4+6 today. I'm in a weird limbo of wanting to tell close friends and family, I don't know what to do!?

bobloblawlawblog · 15/07/2020 17:05

Alew I'm of the mindset that telling a select close few is a good thing pre 12 weeks. I don't believe in 'bad luck' etc and personally if something were to go wrong I would really want their support?
