Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

Thank you @HeadShouldersKnees
Trying not to get carried away. I know it's so early, but going to allow myself some excitement.
I've had so many people tell me I've left it too late to start. Was mentally prepared for a battle!😊

Just found out I'm pregnant and by my dates due 22nd March Smile I had stark white Bfn till yesterday at 13 dpo and its darker today. I have an 11 month already and I'm 28 years old. My symptoms were different with my son. Had a metallic taste and feeling grumpy. This tww ive had cramping, back ache, gassy, nausea in evenings the past two days and sore nipples. I've had really awful headaches and a very dry CM but cervix has stayed high. Oh and I'm extremely emotional. Very excited. I had hyperemesis last time though till about 14 weeks, lost a stone and a half and vomiting 10+ times a day which led to a lot of hospital trips. I have all my fingers & toes crossed this pregnancy is easier. So happy for all you other mums to be. X

@Nmvasey @Sussexbysea I was always worrying about every pain in my first pregnancy but rest assured you'll be getting these pains all through. It can be your ligaments stretching and things moving to accommodate - pelvic pain at the end can be brutal too. I wish someone had told me to relax and stay off Google. Our bodies go through so much. Wishing you healthy pregnancies x

I just booked an early scan for next week, I'll be 7 weeks then. Really hoping to see a little kidney bean with a heartbeat and to get some peace of mind. I don't know if it's silly or a waste of money, I'm just so nervous and impatient. I haven't got a lot of symptoms apart from slight nausea and a weird taste in my mouth so keep worrying that there's nothing growing in there. I've got a phone consultation with a midwife booked for the 29th and no idea when the dating scan is.

Headingtowardsforty · 14/07/2020 10:10

I'm having a really jittery day today. I feel nauseous again, but my stomach is very crampy and it makes me so nervous. I'm sure it's all fine and the cramps are very much in my stomach not my pelvis, but I can't help my mind going 100 miles an hour. My husband is desperate for us to tell our son, he has definitely clocked something is up (he is 10, so difficult to hide tiredness from him), but I'm only 6 weeks and so worried about saying something just in case.

How's everyone else feeling today?

In my eyes if it sets your mind at rest then it isn't a waste! I'm not an anxious person but I'm learning that pregnancy makes you second guess everything! I'm 7 weeks now but desperate for that first scan to show me all is well so far

I just can’t quite believe it so really want to have an early scan to confirm.

I had what I thought was a normal period right at the end of June, although shorter than usual, so assumed that I had not conceived that month. And then last week, as my boobs were really sore, I thought I’d just double check - and lo and behold I was 5 weeks pregnant! All the tests since then have been positive and my boobs are still very sore, I feel tired and a bit lightheaded. No sickness though.

Has anyone else on here had something similar - ie had what they thought was a period but it wasn’t. I know that implantation breeding can be a thing but all the advice refers to it being like spotting whereas mine was more than that!

Boredinthehouse12 · 14/07/2020 12:02

@hellymum21 hey, I have an increase in discharge but it tends to vary. Sometimes it’s think and sometimes it’s not. As long as it doesn’t sure signs of infection I believe its nothing to worry about.

I’m based in the South and had to do a self referral. I’ve just received a letter advising that my first appointment with a midwife will take place via phone in mid August! That seems like a long time to me. All being well I’d be over 10 weeks by then. Is this normal?

SmileyT · 14/07/2020 12:04

Hi ladies, with gyms opening next week finally I'm wondering whether anyone has thought about working out? I know it won't be able to be as intense as before but after nearly 3months out of the gym I don't know if it's a good idea. I normally do HIIT and strength training and used to work out 6/7 times a week. If anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate it x

@PeggySue83 I had an early scan at 6 and 7 weeks with my last preg (sadly ended in MC) but was so nice to see the HB at those scan, so I'd definitely say it isn't a waste of money ❤️

@Boredinthehouse12 my hospital is also self-referral or going through GP (but seemed pointless to wait 2 weeks for an appt just to do the same thing) and booking appt last time was booked for 10w3 which was strange as I thought they said somewhere that some tests need to be done before 10w... think the average is 8-10w depending on availability in your area x

Sussexbysea · 14/07/2020 12:38

Hey everyone!!

I had some pains again today, they come and go though so I’m not concerned. My sickness is getting worse, nothing coming up though. I take it all as a good sign that my levels will be increasing day by day.

Anyone got a date for a dating scan at the hospital? I’m so excited to see how everyone gets on x

Sakura54 · 14/07/2020 13:13

@Sussexbysea Yes, my hospital book dating scans straightaway. Mine is in 5 weeks and I don’t even want to think about it. Petrified of a repeat of my last dating scan in April where I was all alone while DH waited in the car for hours oblivious to what was going on. How about you?

@Headingtowardsforty I think it’s best not to say anything to children. Last time I luckily stopped DH from telling DS to say hi to the baby. He did it a few times but then forgot about it quickly as he’s only a toddler. Also my brother has a 6 year old and they luckily never told him about their pregnancy as they also had a MC, not long before me.

Headingtowardsforty · 14/07/2020 13:37

@Sakura54 I know it's perhaps not the wisest thing. But we have told him with the explanation that sometimes a baby doesn't grow properly. And very clear instructions that it is a secret and he is not to tell anyone until we say it's okay.

Sussexbysea · 14/07/2020 13:43

@Sakura54 nothing booked yet, just waiting for my midwife referrals to come though.

@Headingtowardsforty I told my 3 year last year that we were pregnant and then when I miscarried, telling her was the most heart wrenching thing I’ve ever had to do.

Sometimes she remembers, especially when we read a particular book, she says “mummy, you cry when we read this book. Is the baby still on a rocket ship heading for the stars?” My heart aches writing this, brings back all the emotions 😭

Headingtowardsforty · 14/07/2020 15:21

@Sussexbysea that must have been awful for you. I know we probably shouldn't have done, but he has a habit of jumping on me which we needed to stop with an explanation and when I went for a nap yesterday he continued to come and talk to me. At least now he understands when I say he needs to let me sleep etc.

Sussexbysea · 14/07/2020 15:26

@Headingtowardsforty it’s lovely he understands. X

Headingtowardsforty · 14/07/2020 15:31

@Sussexbysea yeah, hopefully that's going to be the positive of such a huge age gap. He is old enough to understand it's going to need some time. And a built-in babysitter in a few years time!

Sussexbysea · 14/07/2020 15:35

@Headingtowardsforty that’s good planning!

Headingtowardsforty · 14/07/2020 16:24

@Sussexbysea not really! We had resigned ourselves to being a one child family, then this little surprise happened.

TiddleyWinks123 · 14/07/2020 16:26

I'm due 20th March 🙋 Found out last Thursday, first baby after 5 months TTC - still in shock! So excited, very nervous, very anxious. Had cramping this morning, been terrified all day am going to start bleeding and miscarry but no blood yet and checked MN forums that said it's perfectly normal. Just need to breathe!

TiddleyWinks123 · 14/07/2020 16:27

Also symptoms so far are serious fatigue, bad heartburn and very sore boobs 😁

TiddleyWinks123 · 14/07/2020 16:29

@Ricekrispiecake I've booked myself in for an 8 week scan, apparently if you have the intervaginal examination with the probe thing, you get a much better picture so matching undies that day it is!

Belle1983 · 14/07/2020 18:04

@HeadingtowardsfortyI feel cramps at the minute.
It's so early for me (and first time) I'm questioning if I'm even imagining it. I want this to work so badly, but worried it's so early still.
I hope I calm down as I progress!

Belle1983 · 14/07/2020 18:11

@TiddleyWinks123 ... same due date! I just found on Sunday, my 37th birthday!☺
I'm feeling a bit crampy. I hope it's normal. Lost my appetite a bit too.
