Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

@Phie04 so difficult isn’t it! We’re waiting for 12 weeks (or as good as anyway). This baby has been planned for 2 years so the family will all the over the moon for us (especially as a baby wasn’t on the cards this year) so we’re looking for some inventive ways to tell them.

Phie04 · 12/07/2020 18:04

@Sussexbysea excellent! So happy for you! Pinterest has some fab ideas

What are your thoughts on hot tubs, ladies? I’ve read somewhere that they’re not advised as we’re not supposed to increase body temp. Last pregnancy, I asked my GP and he said it would be fine. I only went in a very cool one and later had a miscarriage anyway (totally unrelated, I’m sure).

We’re going glamping next weekend and have a hot tub as part of our accommodation. Really not sure how I’ll explain me not using it to the DCs as I’m normally a massive fan... Any thoughts?

Sussexbysea · 12/07/2020 19:25

@Chickoletta AVOID!! It’s the heat and more importantly it’s the bacteria they contain.

It’s so dangerous for pregnant woman and children

Boredinthehouse12 · 12/07/2020 19:44

Silly question pending.. so does that mean that we aren’t supposed to have hot showers/hot baths?

Charlotte2020 · 12/07/2020 20:34

@Boredinthehouse12 hot shower is fine, but a long hot bath is a no ☹️

Purley · 12/07/2020 21:00

I have already become so happy and excited, just can't believe we managed to conceive on our first try. I am quite anxious though, is that normal? I have a DD who is 11, was young (22) and didn't think for a second anything could go wrong. This time round I feel like I'm going to be worried until we get our scan. Wish I could shrug it off

Boredinthehouse12 · 12/07/2020 21:15

@Charlotte2020 oh goodness thank you! I wasn’t aware.

Rainbow1808 · 13/07/2020 07:07

@Purley totally normal! I’m a nervous wreck at the moment! I was 20 when I had my son, very young I admit, and I was the same. It never ever crossed my mind that anything could go wrong! I took one test and that was that. With this one, I have taken about 10 and spend most of my days worrying and obsessing over every twinge and symptom!

TweetyPie2021 · 13/07/2020 08:20

Good morning Ladies! I'm 5+5 today and it's my first BFP!! Many websites talk about morning sickness and cravings (which I haven't really got) but I am getting tummy cramps ... is this normal?!

bobloblawlawblog · 13/07/2020 08:38

I have tummy cramps and a dull aching feeling too, think is normal

Purley · 13/07/2020 08:48

Thank you @rainbow1808
It's reassuring to know I'm not alone with feeling like this and we are in a similar boat with having older children. My partner keeps telling me that I'm being silly but I just feel protective of this little poppy seed already!

TweetyPie2021 · 13/07/2020 08:58

@bobloblawlawblog Thank you! I'm googling everything at the moment (worst thing to do!) but I don't know what's "normal" and what's not! X

bobloblawlawblog · 13/07/2020 09:19

I'm only 4 weeks in though and already have nausea, bloating, dull cramp and heartburn! And my preg tests came back three days before missed period. My friend is convinced I'm having twins!

BeanieBabyLovex · 13/07/2020 09:25

I had so much cramping between 4 & 5 weeks and it's completely normal
I'm now 8+2 with a happy healthy bouncing bean with a wonderful heartbeat ( 137BPM at 6+5 )
Nausea but no actual sickness
Tired every minute of everyday
And the sorest boobs known to man lol

firsttimemumma123 · 13/07/2020 09:26

Good morning ladies, please can I join? Got my bfp on friday and i’m 6+4 so due 4th march ish, I kind of already knew a couple of weeks ago I was pregnant, dont know how (was the same last time) just had a feeling and I was right! DD is 15 months and took 6 months of TTC and this time it only took one attempt! Very excited but nervous at the same time. Where do we stand with covid atm? Do we carry on as normal or are we classed as high risk?

TweetyPie2021 · 13/07/2020 09:38

@BeanieBabyLovex that's great news hun!!! Fingers crossed I'll be the same then

Headingtowardsforty · 13/07/2020 11:36

So I phoned the gp this morning to check whether they refer me or if I self refer. It's self referral here and I've been onto the hospital website to check. I have to book in with the hospital and then phone the midwifery team to book my booking in appointment, but not until I'm 6 weeks (which is tomorrow thank goodness). Seems very different to 11 years ago, I had forgotten how long these first few weeks feel.

bobloblawlawblog · 13/07/2020 12:17

It must depend upon area you know, I called my gp on Thursday so less than 4 weeks, they then gave me a gp phone consultation an hour later, got me to pop in to do forms for midwife, and I've had midwife team ring today to book my appointment for August 11 when I'll be 8 weeks. Which seems very similar to when was pregnant with my son four years ago.

KM89 · 13/07/2020 13:29

I have a call booked with the midwife for when I will be 8 weeks but thats it I havent been given the option to speak to anyone before then. I feel like its not real until then 😕. I'm 5 weeks today so the next 3 weeks will probably drag!

Charlotte2020 · 13/07/2020 14:04

Same here, my midwife booking appt isn't until the 30th! Feels like an eternity. But after having an early scan at 5 weeks it was just a yolk sac on the screen. there isn't really a lot to discuss until it's bigger I suppose!

DivaRainbow · 13/07/2020 14:18

Hey Ladies, Congratulations on your bfps! I got mine a few days ago and it was a complete suprise! Im guessing I am 6 weeks today. No symptoms apart from the odd bit off lower back pain. This will be my 3rd and Im so nervous

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 13/07/2020 14:40

Hi all

Can I join ?

Another older ( nearly 41) first time mum to be. This will be my first baby if all goes well. I’m 7 weeks today ( I know my exact dates as this was my second cycle of ivf after not being able to conceive naturally)

Due 1st March

I had an early scan ( internal ) at 6w5d Which showed that bean stuck in the right place and I heard the heart beat . I was over joyed and in massive shock as I had no symptoms so had prepared for the worse.
The heart beat was 122 Bpm - the sonographer didn’t say much - and I was so happy to hear it; but Dr Google subsequently made me anxious as it seems really close to the threshold of 120 BPM which anything below again to Dr G is a bad sign. As it was nearly 7 weeks should this be a lot higher like 160 ? In addition I still have Zero symptoms - not one! I don’t need to pee more , my boobs aren’t tender , I don’t feel sick , I’m not more tired than usual - do you think this is a bad sign ? Anyone else in the same boat ?

Congrats to all the BFPs out there !

Hi all

I found another March 2021 thread on here and they have set up a private Facebook Group.
Hope they don't mind but I'll link below. From previous experience a Facebook Group is invaluable for advice.
