Hi guys! Just found out were expecting. Very early but have no one else I can compare symptoms or questions with. Also thought it would be nice to follow pregnancies together. Expected due date should be the middle of March!

Hello! Can I join as well? I’m almost 7 weeks, due early March. I had a miscarriage last year at 3 months so feel very anxious this time round. Last time I had no symptoms at all, I felt great. But this time I feel sick morning, noon and night. I can’t get out of bed and feel like I’m being pathetic but I just feel so nauseous all the time and am wretching all day long. But I’m trying to tell myself it’s a good thing as it just mean my body is working crazy hard.
Huge congratulations to everyone here xxx

@Nmvasey it's funny you asked that. I started painting my garden fence the other day, got my BFP and continued painting. I was outside in the fresh air and it's only a few hours here and there. Never painted in my life and it was fun. If things are going to go wrong, then they're going to wrong regardless of whether I'm painting or not. In saying that, I wouldn't paint indoors though because then I'd be full on breathing it in.

bumblingalonghappily · 12/07/2020 10:04

Hello! Please can I join? Got my bfp this morning and a bit in shock! Due 23rd March.

I have an 8 month old son who took 7 months to conceive with obsessive bbt tracking etc. Stopped using contraception two months ago, haven't been tracking anything and so am very gobsmacked this morning!

Charlotte2020 · 12/07/2020 10:06

@Nmvasey I started painting my hallway and dining room during lock down and ran out of paint! Just bought some more (had to get it mixed), but going to wait until 2nd trimester to do it I think.

artyone · 12/07/2020 11:03

@bumblingalonghappily congratulations and welcome. Hope you're recovering from the shock.
I had a bit of a shock too. I'm a few days in since BFP now and it's starting to sink in finally.

qwertybored12 · 12/07/2020 11:14

The paint situation has got me thinking. I painted half of the hallway a few days ago and didn’t think twice. Before I read the posts I was just about to finish it off, now I’m unsure if I should

Sussexbysea · 12/07/2020 11:19

@qwertybored12 most paints now are non toxic and are fine to use whilst pregnant

Sussexbysea · 12/07/2020 11:20

I’ve got some strong pains on my tightness side today, I’m needing some reassurance.

Please tell me this is just everything stretching inside?

Snazzles2020 · 12/07/2020 11:29

So pleased to hear I'm not the only one on a decorating spree. Just in the process of ordering a new bathroom and when looking at bathroom floors yesterday had the urge to also look at floors for the dining room and hallway Blush. Convinced the husband to take us to B&Q later today too.

Nmvasey · 12/07/2020 12:03

@Sussexbysea I can't really offer any advice as this is the first time for me and have no idea what to expect. I'm feeling all sorts of things and I need to try stay away from google as it will drive you bonkers! You worry if you feel something and then you worry if you don't 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm sure things are absolutely fine and it's your body just preparing. Do you have anything planned to act as a bit of distraction today? Perhaps a nice walk

Boredinthehouse12 · 12/07/2020 12:06

@Sussexbysea phew, thanks. I thought so too but OH doesn’t want to take any risks so he’s volunteered to finish it off.

How many weeks are you now and what type of pain is it?

Sussexbysea · 12/07/2020 12:11

The pain has gone, random.

Feel sick as a dog today too

Rainbow1808 · 12/07/2020 12:19

Anyone got any tips on helping sore boobsGrin I didn’t get them with DS so thought I’d be ok this time around but obviously not! So painful😥

Headingtowardsforty · 12/07/2020 12:22

@Sussexbysea I have had a few random pains too, keep telling myself it's fine. I have had to step away from Google as I have driven myself mad already.

On a side note are many of you booking in for private scans? I hadn't planned to, but I can understand the appeal of the reassurance it would bring.

Chickoletta · 12/07/2020 12:30

@bumblingalonghappily - congratulations! You’re due the day after me. I got a v early BFP (10dpo) on Friday. We’re at opposite ends of the age gap scale though as my DCs are 7 & nearly 10!

@Headingtowardsforty - I’m planning to have a private scan at 8 weeks this time, but only really because I had a MMC in April - miscarried at nearly 12 weeks but the babies (twins) stopped developing at 7. There’s a private scan clinic near me that does them for £59 so worth it for the reassurance I think. I’m also 40, which comes with its own anxieties!

Headingtowardsforty · 12/07/2020 12:40

@Chickoletta that's helpful to know thanks. I am, despite my username, the wrong side of 40 now, so I totally understand those anxieties!

bumblingalonghappily · 12/07/2020 14:27

@Chickoletta ah! How exciting for you! Have you decided when to tell your older two yet?

@Headingtowardsforty I'll probably get a private scan at 7 weeks- I did last time and found it really reassuring to see the heartbeat, and know it had implanted in the right place etc. There was a hairy moment though where she told me I had ovulated from both ovaries (before she told me there was only one embryo)!

artyone · 12/07/2020 15:21

@Headingtowardsforty I'm probably not going to have an early scan this time. I did with both of the others, but money will be tighter this time due to a bigger mortgage and already having 2! Plus with Covid still around I don't really feel like going into any more enclosed spaces than strictly necessary right now.

Headingtowardsforty · 12/07/2020 15:55

@artyone I didn't have a private scan with my ds, but I was already 7 weeks when I found out that time so it didn't feel so long to wait. I don't think we'll have one either, just hard to be patient through these weeks.

Phie04 · 12/07/2020 15:57

Hi ladies. What are your opinions on drinking one glass of wine when pregnant?

Im unsure about it because some say its ok to have 1 and others say its the devil. Surely the little blip is still getting its nutrients from the yolk sac and not getting anything from me directly at the moment. So will 1 glass hurt with dinner??

My mother has poured me one but obviously she doesn't know I'm pregnant. And im guessing most women don't even know by this stage when drinking and still have a healthy pregnancy. I dont want to drink it but cant think of an excuse!

OP posts:
Sussexbysea · 12/07/2020 16:16

@Phie04 personally I wouldn’t drink it. Any chance you can go indoors and swap it for something else?

artyone · 12/07/2020 16:35

@Phie04 Can you wait until she goes to the toilet and then get DH to down it. Then pretend sip?
My mum was over Friday night and I had to tell her I was pregnant as I knew she would be able to tell when I didn't drink and I'm a rubbish liar.

Phie04 · 12/07/2020 16:48

I had a few sips with dinner just going to sneakly pour it back into the bottle and decline any more! Thanks for your comments x

OP posts:
Sussexbysea · 12/07/2020 17:25

@Phie04 good idea. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer till you can tell your family x

Phie04 · 12/07/2020 17:32

@Sussexbysea I know!! May have to hold off coming over until we can tell them. Don't really want to wait until 12 weeks so probably going to tell them after reassurance scan
