xx

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 25/11/2007 11:37

hi mary - i paid for mine actually - they said it would be £70 but only charged £50 !

spugs · 25/11/2007 14:56

congrats on everyones scan news, i know someone who bled heavily for the first 12 weeks and baby was fine. i know it doesnt make it any easier when its you who is bleeding though.

MrsMcJnr · 25/11/2007 18:27

DonDons how annoying hope you get your money back

Kensgirl all your feelings are totally natural and we have all been there! Best of luck for tomorrow hon, sending positive vibes your way

PaulaYatesBF love the name. So glad all was well, hope the bleeding and cramping stop very, very soon.

Healthy and well all, healthy and well

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 25/11/2007 19:24

i have felt so much better today - dh keeps repeating the mantra - we have seen it - the sonographer said it is fine

i know its costs but m/c's are supposed to be linked to stress and for women who have m/cd before - a quick 2 minute scan can mean so much to us....

caitlinnjacksmummy · 25/11/2007 20:59

DonDons · 25/11/2007 21:05

not uncommon CJM - could just be stretching etc... fingers crossed and congrats x

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 25/11/2007 21:07

i would say very common and even a good sign - try and chill - easier said than done though!

positive · 26/11/2007 09:27

just a quick hello to everyone

For all the newbies, I know how hard it is to stay positive after mc.
Like some others i've found coping so much easier by breaking this pregnancy up by the scans i've had the first at 8wks at the eup, 12wks and 20wks. also had scans at 15 and 17wks, when having bloods taken for triple test and then scan as baby has high risk of downs.

its only now that I've had my 20wk scan - last friday- that I really believe that we're having a baby. I know thats silly but all my scans so far havent been very clear. This time we could acutally count baby's toes
and see him yawning - totally amazing.

hope everyone keeps well

good vibes and positive thoughts

EllieG · 26/11/2007 09:28

PYBF ? keep up the positivity hon, you are right, reassurance scans are priceless

CJM welcome and congratulations hope you have a great pregnancy, I?d interpret those cramps and pains as the bean getting comfy

Positive! I can?t believe it, you are 20 weeks! so glad the scan went well, it was at 20 weeks that I let myself begin to believe I might actually have a baby at the end of this keep well!

EllieG ? all the best for the scan, I can?t believe you are 20 weeks either! Time seems to be flying by now!

Jules nope, nothing from Glimmer yet. The heparin does sting a bit at the beginning, especially if you let any of the liquid onto the skin before the needle is fully in. I have only ever injected in my tummy, I can?t bear the thought of injecting in my legs. Even at 33 weeks, I am tummy injecting which can get tricky if Beanie boots me just at that time but I can?t see myself changing site now! I was taught by the nurse to remove the air bubble only to be told last week by my consultant after all these months of injecting that that bubble helps to stop the bruising so I hope you are keeping the bubble in so glad you can do it yourself, it certainly makes your life easier if you can. Some spots are sorer than others and you?ll learn from just running the needle across your skin where a good place to go in is so pleased it is all looking good, long may that continue will be thinking of you on Friday.

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 26/11/2007 10:39

justjules I'm so happy your results were at a good level and hope they have doubled. How long do you need to take the heprin for?

I can really tell that this baby is growing rapidly at the moment, I'm already feeling big. I have another scan on wednesday and am looking forward to seeing the baby and really hoping my cervix isn't funelling, the wait to see is getting really stressful.

makecakesnotwar · 26/11/2007 11:13

Morning all- been away for the weekend so lots to catch up on. New scan pic onmy pics....pip has my nose....

Is it normal to be this hungry at thirteen weeks????

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 26/11/2007 11:53

morning all!
how are you all ?
justjules good luck for good hcg - this time is so hard for you!
still spotting here but feeling ok with it now i have seen h/b
its much better for me to concentrate on the positive as i am too good at focusing on negative and i cant change anything
thoughts with you all this morning

hotchoc · 26/11/2007 12:28

morning all

off to my last m/w appointment now, got the c-section in one week, cannot believe i'm nearly there! i remember so well tentatively joining this thread all that while ago, you newies good luck to you all.

mrs mc when do you start your mat leave, cannot be long now, hope you're good.

had a hell of a week last week, found out that although my mum's lung cancer has been cleared it has migrated to other places in her body, she is starting chemo again today, i have been ok most of the time but the prognosis is not good. i have had to mentally push the whole thing to one side to focus on the baby coming to help keep sane. she is positive though and so looking forward to meeting her new grandchild.

take care everyone and love from hotchocx

feedmenow · 26/11/2007 12:54

Hey hotchoc, sorry to hear about your mum It must be so crappy for you. Probably such bittersweet feelings at the moment, what with a baby coming in one week, but knowing your mum is so poorly. But it must be wonderfully uplifting for her to have the arrival of her grandchild to look forward to!

Jules, so glad to hear about the rising hcg. Hope the news today is just as good.

Ellie, I had no odea you were 20 weeks! I think that being reminded of other peoples "stage" reminds me of where I am and how quickly the next few months will go!

For anyone that is interested, I seem to have found a way to reduce/ease sinus pain and congestion. A few weeks ago someone (I think ejt!) said to snort salt water, which I was rather reluctant to do . However, at my yoga class last week the teacher showed us jala neti which is where you pour salt water up one nostril and let it run out the other. Have only had my jala neti pot since saturday but I think I'm getting used to doing it and it really seems to make a difference! Apparently it is really good for anyone with: - colds, sinus problems, snoring, hayfever, and even some respiratory problems like asthma. For anyone that suffers, try googling it.....

EllieG · 26/11/2007 12:55

Sorry about your Mum hotchoc, that is hard news for you and her.
Can't believe there'll be a mini hotchoc in a week though - that is lovely and exciting x

makecakes - placenta still might not have taken over fully so you'll still be hungry. Should ease up in a week or so. I was still starving at that stage. Am not so much at moment, and overeating is now just caused by habit/greed!

marymalone · 26/11/2007 14:05

hello everyone

EllieG, fingers crossed for yr friday scan, wow 20weeks!!
Hotchoc I'm really sorry to hear about your mum. my dad had bowel/liver ca but the best thing he ever did was remain positive throughout, and we tried our best too. its got to be a great thing that your about to have a baby that'll do wonders for your mum!
Jules and Mrsmcjnr: ouch sounds sore....but worth it! i'm sure it'll get easier.
Congrats on your scan positive!

i'm having a "wobbly" day today, seems to happen every few days and i don't feel so positive, boobs not so sore again, this seems to also happen every few days, but they still hurt if i prod them. however, m/s seems to be kicking in last few days, extremely queasy in the mornings but not actually been sick....yet! off to gp on weds to ask for early scan and book in. fingers crossed she gives me one!

becklebigbump · 26/11/2007 14:12

Congrats to all you guys who've had good scans in the last few days! McCheesers, it is normal to have wobblies while pg, its a scary time and although you may not feel you are out of the woods yet, each day that passes is a day closer.

CJM, hi and welcome, sounds like you have had a rough time over over the last few years, so sorry to hear that but congrats on your new pg! If you are concerned about any pains then contact your MW or GP but lots of us get them early in pg. I think if you have had previous m/c you tend to notice and analyse every twinge and cramp in a different way to those who have never been through it.

Jules, hope your bloods were good today! Ouch for the injections (and for you too MrsMc), I can't imagine having to inject every day but it will all be worth it when you hold your LO for the first time!

Positive and Ellie - 20 weeks!!! You are halfway there girls!

becklebigbump · 26/11/2007 14:15

Hotchoc, so sorry to hear your Mum's cancer has migrated . It is such a terrible disease and I'm sending you all the virtual support that I can. I know how hard it is when the prognosis is not good. Can't believe you are only 1 week from meeting MiniChoc now though! I remember your BFP! Hopefully baby arriving will lift everyone's spirits a bit and will be so lovely that your Mum will get to meet LO.

Bouncingturtle · 26/11/2007 15:07

Aww Hotchoc - sorry to hear about your mum as well, hope she is focusing on her new grandchild to try and keep positive, must be hard for you both.
Congrats to those who have had recent scans, at 36 weeks, still hard to believe I'll be having a baby soon!
