OMG I meant to say I have really dry lips too!**

kim160790 · 01/09/2020 17:21

@Sunshinedahlia thank you 😁 well it's been confirmed (after having private scan at 16 weeks) I'm definitely having a little girl!!!! 20 weeks today and only 18 left until my induction 🎀🎀

Pogmella · 01/09/2020 17:26

Thanks @Lollipop93 I feel better today but not great- I thought I was meant to be glowing Sad

I think I’ve felt baby kick a few times now which is nice though.

dixiedo · 01/09/2020 17:30

Helloooo everyone
22+4 here. Baby doesn't feel like it's moving as much as it has been the last few days. I'm not sure if it's in my head but I've said a couple of times over the bank holiday I don't think I've felt it today. We have been SO busy though 🤷🏻‍♀️ shall I call or just keep an eye on baby?!
I work in a sector where social distancing is impossible and I've been told after 28 weeks I'm no longer allowed to work in my role because of gov guidelines so I have to do admin duties instead. I may be going off a lot earlier than I planned as well because of how the holidays fall which feels so strange.

I have dry lips and a weird annoying headache I can't shift. Feel a bit rubbish to be honest 😔 I definitely don't have a glow x

dixiedo · 01/09/2020 17:31

@Pogmella X post about the glow haha xx
Maybe it's a weird mid stage thing ?
Lovely that you're feeling baby kick

Pogmella · 01/09/2020 17:53

@dixiedo I did read they have a big growth spurt at about 16 weeks do I wonder if it’s that? My app is saying unhelpful things like ‘now the placenta takes over you’ll feel great’

My work have asked me not to return to the office but to wfh until my mat leave which I’m ok about. Nice to know what the plan is at least!

Maxdoggy · 01/09/2020 18:16

@dixiedo I’m also 22+4 today !
I didn’t feel the baby move for a few days and was starting to worry but went for a private scan on Saturday (so DH could experience it!) and all seems ok!
I did a bit of reading and it seems it’s quite normal still at this stage not to few baby for a few days if you have anterior placenta. I have zero medical knowledge tho so do call midwives if you need peace of mind- that’s what the phone line is for !

I’m also in a role where social distancing is not possible (teacher) but my work seem to think I’m going to be there all term til 16th December... Hmm...

mumsofboys · 02/09/2020 21:33

@dixiedo don't worry about reduced movements until 28 weeks. As long as you feel movements that's the main thing. No pattern yet.

@Maxdoggy I've been told we aren't 'vulnerable' now either. I'll be working too.

Maxdoggy · 02/09/2020 21:43

@mumsofboys I think we’re classed as vulnerable in third trimester only...

mumsofboys · 02/09/2020 22:05

@Maxdoggy but even extremely vulnerable people aren't shielding now so there's no reason to not be at work.

On the rcog website it explains we are vulnerable and then gov website says vulnerability aren't shielding only in the peak of the pandemic

Pol96 · 02/09/2020 22:08

At the moment my work "think they'd like me to not return to work in the third trimester" I told them I don't want to take maternity leave that early as it won't work for me financially as I want the year off with my baby, so unsure what's happening.. They've also not told parents (work in a preschool, where they told parents of the last work girls pregnancy within a couple of weeks of them announcing it) its all a bit confusing.. Back to work tomorrow!

dixiedo · 02/09/2020 22:10

@Maxdoggy I work in education too but in a private specialist college. To be honest it can be risky at the best of times so I suppose being given a new role could be a blessing in disguise especially during the next few months (we discover the new starters real behaviours) I do feel vulnerable there at the moment. Although I assume I'll spend the days laminating ...

I've had a nightmare today and I've been so up and down with my mood. I'm hoping it's just hormones but feel so anxious about everything I'm anxious about having gender disappointment? I don't know where it's come from but I feel really worried I will be unhappy and I won't bond so I'm wondering if I should just find out the sex. Then I get myself upset as I really wanted a surprise. I don't know what I feel or why. 😔

mumsofboys · 02/09/2020 22:18

@dixiedo I'd happily laminate all day! Find it therapeutic 🤣

In regards to boy or girl...... do you have a preference? I have a boy and he is like my best friend, literally love our days together at the moment. Everyone was like do you want a girl? Girl girl blah blah. I thought, it would be nice but I'm not bothered.

I've found out it's another boy. And I'm actually over the moon. (Hence the name change!) I cant wait to see their bond and how they are together. They'll be a year apart. We've always wanted 3 and now I just see me having boys and love it.

Basically your love will take over no matter what you have.

dixiedo · 03/09/2020 07:31

I have two boys and I would like another boy. It sounds so silly but it's my DP first baby and I know he wants a boy to hopefully carry on his activities etc although he says he's not bothered, I believe he's not. He's a very good man. I just feel sad that if it's a girl he will probably miss out on a chance to have a boy because I already had children. Four children would be a lot and the expense etc.
It's very irrational and I think I'm being silly.
I probably would be thrilled to have a girl myself I've just piled so much pressure on myself it's got to the point where I've worked myself up and created Something that probably isn't happening ?
Does this make sense?
I really wanted the surprise but I'm being so silly I don't know whether I should just find out so I can stop. X

mumsofboys · 03/09/2020 09:38

@dixiedo if it calms you and give you time to prepare etc then I'd find out. No point in spending the last half of your pregnancy feeling anxious. DP has your boys to share and play with anyway. I'm sure it'll all work out xxx

dixiedo · 03/09/2020 09:41

I know I feel quite selfish and then I feel bad for being selfish. I'm so much better today. Think I had a mad hormonal panic.
Thank you for being kind x

mumsofboys · 03/09/2020 11:47

@dixiedo and girls can do any activities. Just enjoy. All will be fine and your husband sounds happy either way!

Bubbabee · 03/09/2020 18:48

Hey ladies.. is anybody suffering from
Headaches ? If so any tips on how to shift them
X

Bubbabee · 03/09/2020 18:49

@Pol96 aww bless you. I was at midwife yesterday and she's still low and on left side. How are you feeling?

Pol96 · 03/09/2020 19:06

@Bubbabee aw was everything okay? Did she seem worried at all by her being low? I'm okay thanks.. Was back to work today (first time since lockdown started) and am now so achy, my left hip hurts so much more than it did before!

With the headaches, I've not had one for a week or so but.. 4head, paracetamol, kool and soothe patches for migraines and LOTS of water helped me.. X

Bubbabee · 03/09/2020 21:51

@Pol96 no she said it's still normal for her to be low still. So hopefully she will of moved up abit in next few weeks when i go back.
Oh thanks I'll try some of them. I've been trying to not take paracetamol but I've needed to past few days.
Try rest as much as you can on an evening with been back at work. I'm still working from home but back in the office soon which I'm looking forward too x

Pol96 · 06/09/2020 12:58

How are the headaches @Bubbabee?

Anyone got a scan coming up? Got my anomaly Scan on Tuesday!

StephS1984 · 06/09/2020 15:54

Hope everyone is doing well.

I keep trying to be as active and doing things around the house as pre pregnancy, but still feeling really tired, so having to rest. But when I rest when I’m not asleep I end up looking baby stuff up online, but it’s such a minefield to know what I’ll need. Has anyone got any recommendations for what baby items to get xx

22+5

Maxdoggy · 06/09/2020 16:15

@StephS1984
So glad you said this- minefield indeed!!

I found a list of newborn essential items on mumsnet so thought I’d make a list. Bought a crib off eBay (never been used, but £50 instead of 150£!) but DH and I have been discussing prams- neither of us understand any of the descriptions 🤣 It’s like a coded language !

Bubbabee · 07/09/2020 15:37

@Pol96 headaches have settled slightly. How are you feeling? X
