@StephS1984

Has anyone started booking antenatal courses or have been on any before. What do you recommend?

I’ve found 2 types of nct courses locally that are in person in November and I know my hospital did have them prior to COVID 19, but now they are on Facebook videos and not sure when there will be in person ones.

I've had a look at the NCT ones and put my name down; they emailed me with the prices then called while I was at work to ask if I was interested in signing up. I'd hope that by November things are slightly more normal and that they will be in person. I definitely won't be paying all that £££ if they are online.
Brybump123 · 26/07/2020 18:08

@StephS1984 we just booked an NCT course this week. I heard you have to get in there early but not sure how true that is! They said if it ends up having to be online they’re offering a 15% refund which is handy I guess

Went for a private gender scan today and we’re having a little girl!! 😍😍😍

Happy Sunday everyone.

I’m 15 weeks today and the all day nausea has eased pretty much but oh my god the tiredness is so real. I get to like 3pm and I start to feel nausea again because I think I’m so tired. I really hope I can get past this exhausted feeling I’m worried incase it’s because I have an almost two year old who is constant. But defo not as bad as I was. How are you all?

Lollipop93 · 26/07/2020 19:10

Aww congrats @TerribleImagination how many weeks are you?

TerribleImagination · 26/07/2020 19:13

Thanks lovey @Lollipop93 🥰 I’m 16 weeks today!

Hi ladies,

Need some advice and please please be honest.

My partner well ex partner has decided to leave me and the twins.
A build up of things going wrong has pushed him to the point where he doesn't want to be here anymore

So my question is how do I deal with 3 year old twins and a newborn. I already have no support from my family so the option to ask for their help is non existent.

I really don't know what to do and I had a fall yesterday and landed on my belly and I've been bleeding since. Heartbroken isn't the word I can use and I'm don't know what more to say except I need some advice

BabyG123 · 26/07/2020 20:38

@IshaPoet you'll be fine. You're strong and personally from previous posts I think you're better off.

Youve got this!

Hi all, hope everyone's doing well.

Today I discovered my actual uterus! Sounds daft I know, but I was only half aware of the fundus and everything and today I found it!

Lollipop93 · 27/07/2020 09:15

Morning ladies!

I know it’s too early to feel movements just yet but to be prepared I ordered myself one of the ‘Kicks Count’ wristbands. Feeling baby’s movements is so important and it’s an issue I had with my first baby where I actually had to be induced because I wasn’t sure wether I had felt baby move. I don’t know if it was because I was busy and didn’t notice a pattern of because of where my placenta was I couldn’t feel a pattern, or because there just wasn’t one.

So these bands have numbers on it so everytime you feel a period of movement you can log it, I’m hoping this can help me take note of movements and establish any pattern so I know what to look out for. How many movements vary from person to person but each baby normally has its own wee pattern to look out for and when you don’t feel any movements or the pattern changes this is when you can call the midwife.

They are like £3 and I found the kicks count page on Instagram to be really helpful.

So fingers crossed this could help me establish a pattern so in the end I don’t need to report lack of movement and ultimately end up being induced because I want to avoid being induced unless I have to.

Anyway I thought I would share this with you gals!

Have a great day!

BabyG123 · 27/07/2020 09:38

@Lollipop93 great idea. This was the same reason I was induced too

@TerribleImagination awww congratulations. I have mine booked tomorrow.
@IshaPoet you, your twins & baby deserve so much more than somebody like him! You are strong and can get through anything. It seems impossible at the minute. You don't need negativity in your life. I hope your ok after your fall and your trying to rest as much as possible. Please let us know your ok 😘

Bubbabee · 27/07/2020 10:49

@Lollipop93 fab idea. I might get one x

lydiangel83 · 27/07/2020 16:19

Hi ladies - not been on for a while but at 14+1 the headaches agave started as I can see have with others. I'm interviewing for temp work at the moment so this is not ideal as really want to earn money before bubba arrives!

Have piled on weight due to first trimester nausea so was hoping to get a bit fitter in second trimester! Don't think that'll be happening tho!

Finally an most importantly have had a low Papp-a result meaning potential late pregnancy loss and small baby and other horrible risks. Has anyone else had this?

Tiltedclone · 27/07/2020 18:04

I'm 13+1 and I'm convinced I can feel some movements today. Just the odd tap now and again (a bit like your pulse). This will be my second pregnancy and I've read that movements can be felt slightly earlier than with your first - has anyone else had this so early?

I hope they are, I love being pregnant and my stomach is harder than usual so I hope I'll start looking pregnant soon! I'm too fat for any noticeable bump right now lol

BabyG123 · 27/07/2020 19:12

@lydiangel83 have you got asprin to take? I can't help with experience on this but I know it helps.

@Tiltedclone 100% I have been in the evening after dinner and did at 14 weeks. (15+4)

@BabyG123 @Bubbabee I'm ok just had a situation when he left today his cousin decided to come and spew utter bullshit and lies which enraged me so much that I nearly threw a pan at him I had to hold myself back bcos I knew he was egging me on and trying to wind me up.

I had a fall on Saturday and only got to go to the hospital today to get seen too- the gynaecologist said she couldn't see my cervix bcos of the bleeding so she's booked me for a emergency scan tomorrow at 12pm so I've had to call the buffoon to come and watch my twins tomorrow so I can go for it. Hopefully he won't let me down but we'll have to see. She said the risk of miscarriage is less in second trimester but she wants to be sure all is ok so here we go.

I literally have the worst luck ever like i can't catch a break 🥺 one thing after the freaking next

BabyG123 · 27/07/2020 22:39

@IshaPoet just ignore his family itlll annoy them more!

@IshaPoet Hope it all goes well tomorrow for you. Stay strong.

Bubbabee · 28/07/2020 02:17

@IshaPoet fingers crossed for tomorrow hun xx

CoalCraft · 28/07/2020 06:52

@IshaPoet sorry to hear you've been going through so much, keep being brave. Really hope all is well at your scan xx

I have an appointment with midwife today, originally made for quad test, and I'm not really sure what to expect. Will she just draw blood (so midwives draw blood?) Or will she just go through the usual 16 week appointment stuff (16+5 today) and someone else will draw the blood? Might I get a go on the Doppler? Just have no idea what'll happen.

Anyone here had the quad test? How long did the results take to get back to you?

@Tiltedclone I could swear I felt something last night. Am an ftm though so not really sure what I'm looking for.

dixiedo · 28/07/2020 13:23

@IshaPoet are you okay?? I don't know if you have any real life support but maybe it's worth speaking to the midwife?
Mine is doing a conference call with the health visitor in a few days which I got upset about but it's purely to check I'm genuinely okay. Mine is because my youngest DS has health issues (he had cancer and has ASD) and because I experienced DV with his dad years and years ago. Even though my DP now is amazing. I felt so embarrassed about it all but she said it's purely to make sure I personally have all the support possible for me. It sounds like you could do with a real life chat.
I wish I was closer you need a big hug bless you. Xx

dixiedo · 28/07/2020 13:30

Hope you all are okay !!!!!
I'm reading...

Since last Thursday I've been feeling definite movement! Little kicks and shuffling. DP cant feel it yet though. It's quite lovely. The sickness has gone finally and I feel baby kicking I think it's very cute !!! I'm getting excited.
My 20 scan has changed too I'm gonna be 20 weeks exactly now and DP is now allowed to come! I'm absolutely made up for him.

I just wanted to say aswell I've been playing around with my car seat in the house. We went for the Doona car seat and Isofix. If you have other kids and do the school run I think this will be a god send. Im absolutely thrilled with it.!!!
I also really wanted the Stokke Tripp Trapp but thought it was pricey so I have just bought the Huack Alpha Plus. It looks fab and can't wait to be in the kitchen with the baby there.

Has anyone else bought anything yet? I'm booking a Pram appointment for the Saturday after the scan hopefully I'll buy it then then all the big stuff is out the way as I've just had a new roof and doors installed on my kitchen and dining room and we need a new kitchen, bathroom and converting the attic all before the end of November hopefully !!! So need to be so frugal for the next few months. My house feels like a dust war. So sorry I'm quiet. I am lurking just none stop.

Love reading everyone's updates though xxx

dixiedo · 28/07/2020 13:31

Oh I forgot. I had my whooping cough jab after the 16 week appointment (no Doppler there) and my arm was dead for about five days !!!

IshaPoet · 28/07/2020 15:27

Hi ladies.

Thank you all for the support messages, ex didn't even show up to watch the twins so I had to lug them with me to the scan and have a argument with the idiot at the door explaining that I have no support or childcare and I eventually got seen and had littlest twin mad a whole scene and fuss had the whole department talking the most shit.

Baby looks ok still has blood around it but is bouncing around and is ok just have to wait and see at my next scan what happens because I still have cramping and pain so I'm just going to have a small munch and take my painkillers.
