@IshaPoet Similar here, lots of twinges and aches this week, more than usual, I’m 11+2. Some of the twinges are pretty painful too! The evening nausea has worn away pretty much which is nice. Just two more days till my 12 week scan, keeping everything crossed everything is ok.

MarvEll · 07/07/2020 20:20

@OhSoCherished that sounds intense. Have you rung up your midwife team? There's a number I can call for my local team and they're there 24 hours. Might be worth speaking to an expert

Skyla01 · 07/07/2020 20:58

@MayBug2020 I have my dating scan tomorrow too, also nervous! Kinda just want to get it over with and know all is ok. Will be interesting to see what my dates are- I'll be 12+4 by lmp.

MayBug2020 · 07/07/2020 21:07

@Skyla01 what time is your scan? Mine is 8:30 in the morning which i am glad about as it would drive me crazy waiting. I am also intrigued about my dates - I hope they don’t put me back as I only know my dates based from an early scan where they said I was just over 6 weeks so if I go by that I will be exactly 12 weeks tomorrow xz

Skyla01 · 07/07/2020 21:14

@MayBug2020 first thing in the morning sounds good! I'm at lunchtime. Got a busy morning at work so hope time goes fast and I can concentrate ok! Off in the afternoon so hoping we can relax / celebrate a little bit then....

BabyG123 · 07/07/2020 21:29

@IshaPoet I'm 25 mins from you in Brentwood.

@MarvEll is Essex too

@MarvEll I spoke to my midwife and she said it happens sometimes around this time, but she was happy for me to treat at home since there's no other symptoms.

I'm a lot better this morning so I'm hoping that's the end of that episode. I was getting quite worried. Thank you for responding, I really appreciate it.

Wineandrun · 08/07/2020 14:15

Finally got my scan date through and it’s not for another 2 weeks, I’ll be 13+1! At least I know now. Seeing a consultant too so hopefully will be a good day!

devilliams · 08/07/2020 16:18

Hello.

I’ve spent the last couple days reading through the January posts and would like to jump on if that’s ok.
I’m due 8th January so 13.5 days. Still sick as a dog most days 🤢 although I feel slightly more alive today.
Hope you are all well 😁

Skyla01 · 08/07/2020 16:24

Finally had scan today- such a relief to see baby and measuring exactly 12 weeks. Really looking forward to sharing the news this weekend.

@MayBug2020 how did you get on?

Baba11 · 08/07/2020 17:03

@Skyla01 glad it all went ok.
@MayBug2020 hope your scan went well..

MayBug2020 · 08/07/2020 17:05

@Skyla01 @Baba11 scan went well and it was amazing to see the little bean. Measured further along at 12w4d so now due on 16th Jan x

MeganC104 · 08/07/2020 17:16

Can I just say, hair tie through the button hole on my jeans is the best trick I've learned so far.

Skyla01 · 08/07/2020 20:36

@MayBug2020 I know- hard to believe that was inside me! Shame DP couldn't come, hope he'll be allowed at 20wk. He would have loved it.

Carabu1 · 08/07/2020 21:00

@MayBug2020 ah that’s lovely - congratulations! I’m so hoping husband can come to my 20w one too - it feels a bit more unfair now he could fly to Italy or go to a pub but can’t see his baby!!

Is anyone else here having a cervix length scan? I have mine next Tuesday week at 16 weeks and I’m so nervous....not sure what to expect really (like do they look at the baby or literally just the cervix? I didn’t really get any info at all on the letter)

MayBug2020 · 08/07/2020 21:23

@Carabu1 thank you.

I think I will have to have mine checked as I have had treatment for abnormal cells but told they won’t look at it until the 20 week scan. Do you know the reason why you are having yours checked? X

Carabu1 · 08/07/2020 22:21

@MayBug2020 sounds like we’re in the same boat then - I had abnormal cells procedure a few years ago. I think it varies by trust - mine do 18 weeks and 22 usually, but I asked (/demanded...!) to be done a bit earlier (16 and 20) as it’s playing on my mind. I can report back though. I’ve done lots of research and it looks like one procedure and not much removed means it’s likely to be ok. Fingers crossed!

BabyG123 · 08/07/2020 22:24

Congrats on all today's scans ladies. I have my second 12 week one tomorrow where I'll be 13 weeks so hoping they can see more this time 🤞🏼

MayBug2020 · 09/07/2020 07:25

@Carabu1yes I was a little shocked when they said they waited until 20 weeks. Please keep me posted on how it goes and what is involved. How far will you be? Xx

Sunshinedahlia · 09/07/2020 08:38

Morning ladies! Hope you are all feeling ok today! Can I ask, what happens when in terms of first trimester testing? I am rather confused about which test will happen when (genetic screening, blood tests, combined tests....). Thanks.

MeganC104 · 09/07/2020 08:57

I'm really worried this morning and I don't know if this is a common thing to happen. Currently 13week+1 and first pregnancy. For the last 2 weeks my belly has felt firmer and bigger. I struggled to fit in my usual clothes. My husband noticed the difference. This morning I woke up and my stomach is completely flat and soft as if nothing is there. I've had no pain. Does this happen or should I contact my midwife? Our scan last week showed everything was fine

Carabu1 · 09/07/2020 09:39

@MayBug2020 I’m 15+2 today, and will be 16 exactly when they check next week. I did have to hassle the consultant to be done earlier, she clearly thinks I’m being paranoid (probably am!). I’m sure 20w is fine too if that’s what your dr suggests. I feel like once that hurdle is over then I can actually start to enjoy being pregnant, rather than worrying about it!! (Or I hope so anyway....!)

BabyG123 · 09/07/2020 09:50

@Sunshinedahlia not sure if this is the answer but some people start second trimester 12 weeks and some 14 weeks? Third trimester 26 weeks?
May be completely wrong 🤣

@MeganC104 first child? Usually with your first you don't 'show' until 18-24 weeks. It would be bloaty gas. But call if you're worried.
Baby lives in your pelvis behind the bones the first 16 weeks. I only know this as I was In a car accident with DS1!

BUMP BELTS

On that note I highly recommend a bump belt in the car, after a serious accident (not at fault) with my first child, I wouldn't be without!

TerribleImagination · 09/07/2020 10:55

@MeganC104 The hard belly before will have been bloat lovey. My stomach has been the same since like 4 weeks, but getting more and more bloated! It goes down sometimes and then bloats back up throughout the day! Like @BabyG123 said, your uterus is only just coming out from behind your pelvis around now, so it’s totally normal to not be showing yet.
