Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@ew1990 I also don't feel pregnant! Was hoping to get a bump soon.. as they say with your 2nd onwards, you show sooner but I don't think I will as it's been like 5 years since I had my son. And I lost like 4 stone in between! 😫 I think it starts to feel more real to me once I've had a gender scan to be able to buy stuff and also the movements! Really can't wait for those again 😍 x

ew1990 · 08/08/2020 18:39

@dancem1 no no more which is good x

Have you any children already? They booked me in on a Wednesday to be induced and it want untill early hours Friday morning they had space on Labour ward. I was just crying all the time coz I wanted my baby. When They came to get me i was walking dead slow down the corridor saying I don't want to go 😂😂

ew1990 · 08/08/2020 18:44

@bubblybon20 well done on the weight loss! I loved being pregnant. It was ace. My friends just had another baby and her DD is 3 in December. She was in maternity uniform From 16 weeks coz she showed really early. With DD I didn't get a bump until about 23 weeks.

bubblybon20 · 08/08/2020 18:56

@ew1990 Thankyou! I've sure found it back again since my MC, and lockdown 🤣🐷 and what really! Hopefully be soon then! 🤰 Just want to start getting excited and not nervous 24/7 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 08/08/2020 23:26

@ew1990 Glad you’ve got an appointment sorted. Totally know what you mean about it not feeling real - was saying to my husband that it’s really weird to think that’s there’s a living (🤞🏼) being inside of me now, with a whole other heartbeat. It’s a lot to get your head around!

Anybody else’s boobs absolute agony? I’ve ordered a plethora of different bralets to see if I can find any to help as my normal bras are so uncomfortable and small already. I didn’t have this at all last pregnancy (boobs got bigger but not sore) so I’m counting that as a good thing. Nipples are huge, too! I’m also feeling a bit crap as have put loads of weight on from not being able to stop eating, eating all of the wrong things and not doing any exercise, barely even getting out of the house for a walk. Going for a walk tomorrow and then need to force myself to go regularly through the week plus do some gentle yoga, too and get started back on my physio strength training (but very lightly for the next few weeks - want to take it easy after the bleed). I’m feeling a bit less nauseous at the moment so need to make the most of that to actually move, I’m feeling horrible 😔

ew1990 · 09/08/2020 10:20

@skyblue20 my nipples are sore and my boobs just feel a bit fuller but not bigger. I'm only a b cup, when I breastfed DD they went massive.
I'm sure they are leaking. They do this tingly thing and feel wet and this is disgusting but they have dried stuff on them.

I leaked colostrum quite early with DD. Like 25 weeks. I had to wear a bra and breastpads and night otherwise my top would just be soaked.

SkyBlue20 · 09/08/2020 10:41

@ew1990 I had dried stuff on one of my nipples the other day, too - read that it’s rare but not unheard of that you can leak this early. Only happened the once for me so we’ll see! My boobs are just really achey, like even walking down the stairs hurts. I’m a D cup normally so dreading how big they’ll go 🙈 My nipples aren’t as sore at the moment (which is usually a worrying sign for me) but with my boobs being generally sore, I’m not worrying too much about them!

Woke up feeling much less disgusting, I think as the day goes on I just really bloat up and by the end of the day I look and feel like I’ve put loads of weight on and my boobs are ready to explode! It’s a joy this whole thing 😂 I’ll take it though for a healthy baby at the end of it all.

How is everyone today? Xx

ew1990 · 09/08/2020 10:46

I wake up with a flat tummy then as the day goes on it just gets bigger. I was really bloated at this stage last time. Even though baby had stopped growing my belly was just massive all day.

I just feel icky today. Like sick but not. I can't describe it. Got no appetite but just making some porridge see how it goes down

SkyBlue20 · 09/08/2020 10:51

Yeah sounds like me, @ew1990 - seems all is as it should be I guess. I couldn’t comfortably do my jeans up the other evening 🙈

Hope the porridge helps the ickyness, sometimes you just need food. I’m shattered today, my eyes are stinging with tiredness even though I got a good eight hours last night 😴

Poppy10121 · 09/08/2020 12:11

@SkyBlue20 I’m impressed you’re still able to wear jeans! I’m a few weeks behind you but my bloat is already so bad I’ve given up on anything with a waistband! By the evening I honestly look about 5 months pregnant not 5 weeks!

I’m normally quite active but between lockdown/MMC/twisting my ankle when running a few weeks ago I’ve turned into a blob. My yoga teacher said my normal yoga class isn’t suitable for pregnancy and she said I should wait til 12 weeks before starting the pregnancy yoga - does anyone have good tips for exercise/staying slightly less unfit!? I was doing C25K but had to stop a few weeks ago over sore ankle and now i feel anxious to run again. Trying to get out for some walks but just wandering around our local area loses appeal after a while 😁

Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend and not melting in this heat!

bubblybon20 · 09/08/2020 12:16

What are your views on the Dopplers? I've never considered one before, but as I won't be seeing a midwife until 24 weeks! I was debating whether to buy one. But then I've also read and awful lot of things online about them 🤷🏻‍♀️ just don't know how it'll be not seeing a midwife or listening to a heartbeat until then, only at my 12 week scan 🤦🏻‍♀️

ew1990 · 09/08/2020 12:20

@bubblybon20 i would never buy one. Apparently more often than not it's your heartbeat you are picking up. And I Think it would cause unnecessary stress and worry if you couldn't find the heartbeat. Midwives have a lot of training to be able to use one.

I'm thinking about this not seeing a midwife. I think I would have to at 16 weeks as I'm resus negative blood type and would have to have an anti d injection

bubblybon20 · 09/08/2020 12:24

@ew1990 yeah I've seen an awful lot of them sort of posts too, and tbh like you say would cause more stress on top of everything else 🤦🏻‍♀️ and i was thinking of getting a private gender scan around 16 weeks, suppose they'll do a nhs at 20 week.. so guess it's only 4 weeks wait! I also forgot about that, I'm also resus neg!x

ew1990 · 09/08/2020 12:28

Oh I dont really understand. Apparently it's 2nd 3rd and so on pregnancies it can cause problems? Not your first.

DD is resus negative they tested her blood from the cord when she was born. My mil is also reses negative so with DD they said if my other half can get a blood test and if he's resus neg too then I won't have to have the anti d beause baby would have resus neg blood too. But I dont Think that's gunna happen with covid.

I just realised I've said resus neg about 15 times 😂

bubblybon20 · 09/08/2020 13:13

@ew1990 yeah I thought that too! And hahaha lots of resus negs then 🤣🤣x

Workingmama1 · 09/08/2020 13:29

@bubblybon20 I don't think home dopplers are recommended anymore, it's quite an art to pick up the baby's heartbeat, so they can cause unnecessary stress or comfort if you think you are picking up the babies heartbeat and it's not and something is wrong.

@Poppy10121 I need to do some exercise too, I was doing c25k but haven't for two weeks, my knees hurt and I'm anxious about over exerting myself. I did some gentle yoga on Friday which was nice, going to go to bootcamp again next week. You can get pregnancy yoga videos online too i think.

@SkyBlue20 I don't have achy boobs and didnt last time, its worrying me a bit as obviously last time didn't end well but I'm putting it down to still breastfeeding my daughter ao maybe they arent changing as much. With my daughter I found sports bras the comfiest, the type you would wear for yoga, they offer some support but dont dig in.

I'm fuming with my husband. We were talking about when we might tell people and he started with "if you are pregnant" it's not that he doesn't believe me (he'sseen the tests!), I think it's his way of protecting himself as if we loose it if he's not really thinking about it as a pregnancy it would be easier for him. But it really upset me. He then said he doesnt want to tell ppl until 12 weeks in case something happens, and used the example of the boy who cried wolf if we tell people and then it doesnt work out. It was so insensitive. I don't think he understands how I'm feeling at all as he didn't really get when I was so annoyed with him!

Smilingdonkey · 09/08/2020 13:34

With you on the sickness and bloating. I am now living on bread and fizzy water. So grim. I also look about 4 months pregnant. There is no hiding it now. I'm in maternity wear and I can't see any way back from it ! I think being pregnant so soon after the miscarriage has made me show earlier as well as having my DD.

I don't have sore boobs at all - but I didn't last time either. I'm also still breastfeeding so maybe that changes things.

All good at exactly 10 weeks today 🥰
It was wriggling and waving. So cool.

@SkyBlue20 glad all is well and that EPU scanned you straightaway. I don’t think it’s extreme to go A&E. It’s either that or be petrified waiting for a MC that may or may not happen.

Wow so lovely and clear! @Smilingdonkey

@bubblybon20 They never call me about my blood results so I just assume nothing is wrong. I think if something is urgent, they would call you. I had low iron before, discovered in the third trimester, but they didn’t tell me until the next appt.

So I don’t exercise, but usually I take DS out in the buggy and can walk at a good pace for an hour without getting that tired. After not walking for a very long time, I walked to my brother’s house 25 minutes away - which wasn’t the best idea as breathlessness is one of my pregnancy symptoms. I got out of breath and my chest hurt straightaway and I decided to sit on a bench to rest halfway through as you aren’t supposed to exert yourself when pregnant! Pushing a buggy uphill is tiring at the best of times and the sun was blazing, so I won’t be doing that again any time soon. Really need to start going on short walks again though and doing some form of exercise.

Ok, the thread is getting full. Shall we start our scan date list? Just have to copy and paste then add your name and details in order of date. We can update it when we get definite due dates, then weekly. I’ll start:

@Sakura54 Tues 18th August 3.40pm

JennyMY · 09/08/2020 13:46

@Smilingdonkey What a lovely pic! And must be such a relief to see and hear baby! X

ew1990 · 09/08/2020 13:54

@sakura yeah lets do it even though I still dont have my scan date. 9+3 and still not had booking appointment. I'm going to wait untill Wednesday and then chase them.

I've never been one for exercise but I do walk a lot. I've just got ready to talk DD out for a walk. I'm dying for a nap though 🙈

ew1990 · 09/08/2020 13:55

@smilingdonkey what a lovely clear picture!

bubblybon20 · 09/08/2020 14:05

@Smilingdonkey that is a a lovely picture! So glad all is okay 😀😀

@Sakura54 I also don't have my scan date through. Hopefully this week 🤞🏻
Hope you're okay! I have also struggled with long walks use to walk up to the fields with the boys, but with the weather and everything is so exhausting!

@Workingmama1 yes I will avoid the Doppler! Don't need any stress 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

JennyMY · 09/08/2020 14:24

I have my scan on Wednesday. They wouldn't give me a picture at 7 week and 9 week ones (NHS) so haven't seen the babies for weeks.

@JennyMY Wed 12th August 2pm
@Sakura54 Tues 18th August 3.40pm

JessyClaireS · 09/08/2020 14:37

Hello ladies,
I hope you are all well.
I’m sorry to join in this thread I hope you don’t mind.

I had a miscarriage last year at 11 weeks, my symptoms randomly stopped and I had bleeding and cramps went hospital and they gave me a scan and said I was going to miscarry which long story short I did and it was traumatic.

Happily I am pregnant again now and I am 9 weeks into my pregnancy I am so excited but so anxious!!
I won’t up yesterday and my symptoms didn’t feel as bad and today they even less. I worried something is happening!! I so so scared of another miscarriage. My nausea is going, my tiredness isn’t as bad and my boobs are less painful. I don’t know what to do! My 12 week scan isn’t till 28th Aug. Is this normal or is it something I need to see my GP about. I am thinking of paying for an early scan. Has anyone else had this ?? Xxx
