Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

Thanks @SkyBlue20 and @Smilingdonkey

It's horrid! Both miscarriages I've had were so different so I'm not sure what's even normal for me 🙄
The last one I had sore boobs, even started getting sick but was constantly spotting but needing to wear a small pad, and kept on at the mw but she kept telling me it was normal.
I just knew something was wrong.
Was almost 8weeks before red blood and then they accepted me in for a check.
Still refused to do a scan as my bloods were good... so me and dh refused to leave the hospital 😬

Was a perfectly good sac and egg yolk but haematoma pretty much filled over half the sac. Because of that I had to wait 2 weeks for a re check to which they found baby had stopped growing very early on.
So at 10 weeks I had to take 'the tablets'

All this cramping lark is not something I had with either of them, so I really hope it's a good sign.
I feel perfectly normal otherwise... 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'll leave @Sakura54 to it - don't want to end up with two posts and my feed hadn't refreshed!

Welcome, @Wishful30! I'm so sorry for your losses and hope that this little bean sticks around. I had cramps for quite a while in the early weeks, still do at times (mainly when I need to go to the loo!), it's really normal. Sending strength - pregnancy after loss is just horrible, isn't it?!

@Smilingdonkey Happy to start the new thread, shall do it now and drop a link in here xx

@ew1990
Thankyou for the invite to this thread.

Tentatively joining as AF due today/tomorrow at the very latest.
Had so many chemicals and 2 miscarriages that I no longer get excited at a positive test 😐

I use the FF app and my cycles are generally 26/27 days with the very rare 28day thrown in.
Today is day 27.

I only tested cd 25 as my clear blue fertility monitor asked me to 🤦🏻‍♀️
I was very surprised! Tho I did have shooting pains in my boobs and was having really weird dreams which is usually a sign fur me anyway.

Yesterday I had brown spotting and good af cramps so figured af would show up last night. Nope, not yet, she's playing with me! 🙄
Today less spotting but the cramps are pretty good.
Af cramps usually only start when bleeding starts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I'm lucky to never really suffer to bad, so I'm really noticing these.
Taking paracetamol regularly in the hope it'll help calm the cramping.

Has anyone experienced all this cramping and spotting and managed to make it through?

So good to be able to discuss it. I've not even told DH yet. He's on night until Friday so I figured if I'm still pregnant at the weekend, I'll tell him then.

Surely this is 3rd time lucky? 🤞🏻

It's roasting here too, living on ice lollies and water from the fridge!

@Sakura54*@Workingmama1 Also hate the awkward question. My booking in appt midwife was the same as the MMC, so when I came in to the appointment, she said 'Oh, have we met before I recognise you?' so I said yes you have seen me before and explained it had ended in MMC that time cue the sympathetic nod*. But then when we were filling in the booking in forms and she asked how many pregnancies and I said 3 including this one, she then said 'Oh, so 2 kids already then?' and I had to explain again, no 1 MMC, one early loss. I mean, I literally just told you, 5 minutes ago. She also didn't seem to know what an MVA was which I had to explain to her too. Wasn't massively impressed, but other than that she seems quite nice.

I've got my proper dating scan on the 19th, should be 13w by then. I know I'm lucky in that I've seen baby twice now at 8w and 11w but I think I'll be a bag of nerves this time next week!

I'm also terrible at not drinking enough. I'm often writing long reports or sifting through mountains of data/emails for work and just get distracted and totally forget to have a drink, even if it's right next to me. DH always finds it funny when he comes to collect a half full stone cold cup of tea an hour after he's given it to me!

@bubblybon20 try drinking loads and loads of water, been up to 33 here and I'm definitely melting, I'm not the best at drinking water, and because I've got so much nausea and this morning, sickness kicked in, I have been drinking quite a bit of flat lemonade with lots of ice.

@SkyBlue20 I agree symptoms are a good signs, but not when they make you feel pants 🤦🏻‍♀️
@Sakura54 defo difficult to nap with the boys, and I find it doesn't go off anyway 🙈 going to try drink more!

Good luck with yoga! 😀😀 x

@DanceM1 That’s so lovely and your scan is so soon. What’s with our late scan times!? What are they trying to do to us. Mine is ridiculously late but my next MW appts are at 9am, like why lol.

It’ll be nice if we can start the new thread with the scan date list, even though it’s so small ATM.

@Workingmama1 Yeah I don’t like that question but when it’s relevant we have to awkwardly include all pregnancies. When the phlebotomist asked me, I had to pause and think before answering as she was just making convo. I also don’t like that it’s on my records - gravida and para. I never liked looking at that even before I had a MC.

I don’t get headaches but I know they are a pregnancy symptom. Does napping help @bubblybon20 although it’s probably not easy for you to nap because of the boys?

I’ve fainted due to dehydration too over 10 years ago (1 week into a new job) and had to go hospital and take sick leave as I injured myself. I’m still not a great drinker as I never feel thirst but go to the loo like normal and it’s not dark, weird. I’ve been making an effort to drink more but it’s nowhere near enough. Who knows how I’ve survived this long lol. I don’t have dehydration symptoms I don’t think. I’ve just gone to get a big mug of ice water as typing this has reminded me to drink!

I think I’m going to try Yoga for the first time. Looks boring but better than nothing, although I have constant belly pains when I move so hopefully it’ll be ok.

I feel so rough today 😫 Trying not to moan as the symptoms are reassuring at least but I really don’t feel good and am so busy with work. Might have to take myself off for a nap at lunch and hope it helps.
Sorry to hear about your headaches @bubblybon20, they’re the worst 😔

@RosieJess91 it's been about 30 here! And yeah maybe could be dehydrated, I have been trying to drink plenty! But it's literally over my eyes! 😔

@bubblybon20 no headaches here, but have you got the same heat we do down south? Nothing to do with that? You could be dehydrated? I assume you'd probably know if you were really, but I've fainted due to dehydration once and I'd been drinking plenty... 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else suffering from headaches? I have them for 4/5 days straight the minute I go sleep to when I wake up 😓 then don't have them for a couple of days.. then they're back! I won't take paracetamol (I know it's safe to) but I won't want to rely on them for how frequent these are!x

@Workingmama1 Yeah, booking in is at Bolton. My midwives are under a different trust (Penine) but seem to all be working relatively normally. I found the ‘is this your first pregnancy’ question awkward too, kind of stumbled over my answer a bit and finally got my words out. Got the sympathetic ‘ohhh’, softened voice and the head tilt.

Workingmama1 · 10/08/2020 20:09

It also felt weird when they asked me if this was my first pregnancy and I said 4th, she looked at me with surprise and said "you've got three kids?!" And I had to explain the mmc and chemical so only one child. I guess that is now part of my medical history...

Yes it was a relief to see it's not ectopic! @smilingdonkey and @ew1990 interesting you saw the same thing. Its been quite painful this evening so would have been freaking out if I hadnt been scanned. Was quite surprised they booked me in for a follow up but thought I'd take it as I should be 7 1/2 weeks so will be a good indicator things are doong well 🤞 i get to then without any drama. Pregnancy after loss really is a rollarcoaster!

@skyblue20 glad you've finally got your booking appointment, is it at Bolton? I think the community midwives for me aren't operating yet as the health centre is being used as a covid testing centre!

Poppy10121 · 10/08/2020 15:43

@Workingmama1 so pleased for you that it all went ok, must be a big relief!

Thanks for the tip @SkyBlue20 I'm not planning to have a scan til September so I think I still have a while to book one, plus it's literally 10mins walk from my house to Window on the Womb so I will take any appointment time they have going!

I think I am being a bit weird about not booking anything at all, still don't believe it's real this time. The only thing I've done is ask my dr to continue to the progesterone pessaries for another 7 weeks... hoping that will help keep this one going.

Just had my call from the hospital (their ears must have been burning)! My booking in appt is Wednesday and it's in person so they can do bloods at the same time. Finally! I'll be 9+3 then.

Report
SkyBlue20 · 10/08/2020 14:55

Great news, @Workingmama1, glad all is looking as it should! That is a bit unfair from the sonographer though, way to bring you down!

@ew1990w Glad there's been no more blood. Same here, nothing more since Friday. Hopefully that's a good sign. I called my midwife unit to chase my booking appt last Tuesday and they said to give it a week and if I haven't heard anything to call back and they'll ring the hospital so I'll give them a nudge tomorrow.

@JennyMY Agreed that the disruption is too much - it worries me that people aren't getting bloods and stuff when they should. There are certain conditions they have to check for before 10 weeks, aren't there?! So how can they justify leaving it longer than that?

Report
ew1990 · 10/08/2020 14:51

@workingmama same here. Had a scan they said I was 5ish week with a sac and yolk sac. Went back 10 days later to a blob with a heartbeat at 6+5
