Pregnant after Missed Miscarriage MMC

Hi, starting this thread -very tentitively- as a graduation from the TTC after MMC group. A couple of us have begun to get BFPs and I would like a space to go though this with people who get why I'm so anxious - especially in the first trimester! Some of the other threads are so big and rather gung ho and I want to tread a bit gently right now!
I am only 4 weeks but have been getting progressively darker tests since 7-8dpo.
I'm becoming more certain this is not a chemical but I am being so cautious! Definitely too scared to work out a EDD yet!

@ew1990 I think I can see it! Looks a lot like my first squinter on an IC at 7dpo when the line on FRER was a bit stronger (not much) ... Try again in the morning! Do you have a good supply of ICs?!

@ bubblybon20 and @ranoutofgoodnames .... Crazy they can tell so early!! We found out with my DD but I think this time (🤞) we won't ...

@smilimgdonkey yeah I have about 15. If it's a bit stronger in the morning I'm gonna leave it a few days before testing again

I am waiting to misscarry naturally my missed miscarriage. there was no heartbeat at 7 week scan. and today was 10 days after appointment there was no heartbeat baby did not grow but got even smaller. I got pregnant naturally at one try and at 1 st try, I am 46 years old my first pregnancy ended such... I want to try again. Did you get the medical abotrions or D and C... I decided to miscarry naturally because it is not invasive but I dont know if I am making a mistake. and one last word please dont let trabsvaginal ultrasound ever they did one for me at 5 weeks I think THAT ultrasound waves harmed and stunted the baby.

Hi ladies, I'm on another thread but there are some familiar faces in here and I suffered a MMC in January so I'm with you all on being super anxious about this pregnancy. I'm 5+3 weeks just now and have no symptoms really apart from my boobs are a bit sore, so I'm struggling to believe I even am pregnant (I have four tests saying I am🙈). I have an early scan booked for 8 weeks, but it'll do nothing to reassure me as I had one at 7&3 last time where all was well and found out about my MMC at my 11 week scan.

@littleangle46 I'm so sorry for your loss. I imagine waiting for it to happen is heartbreaking. I had a spontaneous miscarriage at 11 weeks, the week before my 12 week scan. Mine was natural and I was adamant I didn't want any medical intervention. However, having gone through it im not sure I would do the same if it were to happy again. I spoke to the nurse at EPU when I had a scan to check everything had gone and she said the bleeding after about 9 weeks is significantly worse and more painful so if I had known that I probably would have opted for medical management.
Is your partner happy to try again? My miscarriage was at Easter, I had a period 38 days later then got pregnant again the cycle after so stay positive. 🤞🏼 xx

@littleangles46 I'm sorry for your loss. I had an emergency surgical miscarriage after a spontaneous miscarriage went 'wrong' after a MMC at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 7.) I had to have a spinal tap rather than a general due to COVID which was traumatic and horrendous. Having said that there was only a few days of spotting at it was all over in a day. If I was doing it again, awful as it was, I would do the same thing. It wasn't a D and C but an ERPC xxxxx

And @littleangles46 my miscarriage was 2 1/2 months ago and I am now nearly 5 weeks pregnant so stay strong!
It's really positive how quickly you got pregnant and it does seem we are often more fertile after a miscarriage.

@Smilingdonkey it's tough isn't it? I had a call with the bereavement midwife at my EPU last week and she was very honest as said it likely won't go away until there's a baby in my arms 🙈 but she did say it'll lessen as the pregnancy hopefully progresses.

@littleangle46 I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️

@peonyrise87 😩 I had to get easier surely! I'm too scared to call the maternity unit and book in at the moment 🙄 I've got it in my head I need the CB digital to say 2+ on Monday first so I know HCG has increased. I am testing daily with ICs and they are getting stronger so 🤞

What symptoms do people have at the moment? Xx

@Smilingdonkey same ones that told me I was going to get a BFP. Bad cramps, aches when I move and lightheadedness every time I get up. The real suffering is going to start soon and I'm dreading it!

I think after the 12 week scan is when I'll allow myself to have some hope. After what happened last time, it's going to be nerve wracking.

I had a sharp and short pain episode around my belly button and in uterus and cervix in the night that corresponds to the day that my babies heart stoped beating. Can you take progesterone, I also read low dose asprin and low dose steroids are helpful to survive the time from 5 to 12 weeks where most babies are lost. I wish with all my heart your baby is okey. @Smilingdonkey well im 7 weeks tomorrow. Another week closer. 🙏
The last few days the pg symptoms are coming thick and fast. Ive literally completely gone off all food. So so nauseas. Also just feel generally crappy. Grumpy, tired, cold, like im coming down with a cold. I don't think it's coincidental if I'm honest I think it's completely unrelated but i hardly had any pg symptoms with my miscarriage. Felt a tiny bit nauseous the first couple of weeks but by 8 week scan (where they said everything was fine and we saw/ heard heartbeat) I felt pretty normal. X

@Smilingdonkey I booked in with my midwife when I knew that AF definitely should have been and gone but I won't get my booking appointment until 8 weeks. I've not tested for a week now, I got four positives and a CB saying 2-3 weeks and then my partner said that was enough 😂

This is this morning test. A tiny tiny bit darker. Didn't have to invert this one. So im going to leave it a few days and I'll check back in with you ladies then. Havent a clue when I ovualted and got no symptoms apart from tiredness so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Hopefully in a few days it's darker

@ew1990 I can see it! I think comparing every other day is the way to go or at least that’s what I did - good luck!!

@ranoutofgoodnames that's my plan. This is a boots test ive got on more of these I might save till next week and use IC' s till then.

I actually can't believe this had happened before me first AF. I daren't get excited. I'm so scared. I'm not telling DP till next week if the lines get darker.

I really hope this one makes it 😩

You are doing a wise thing testing every other day - but I would be on a FRER straight away 😩🤣 If you are getting those lines on normal tests it would be dark on one of them I reckon! Everything crossed for you xxxxxx

I mean don’t bankrupt yourself to do it but other than that why not if it makes you feel better? I do. Haven’t for a while as have been having blood tests.

My pregnancy tests would make an amazing art installation of some kind

ew1990 · 01/07/2020 21:03

I might see if epu will do blood tests. Worth asking I suppose.

So if you haven't had a period when do you work out how many weeks you are? From the date of MMC or? I don't want to ring for my booking appointment for a good few weeks this time. I rang straight away last time and had it when I was 6 weeks and then it dragged.

Ranoutofgoodnames · 01/07/2020 22:05

I am in an excruciating ten day wait after an inconclusive scan to see if it is a viable pregnancy so I haven’t bothered with any of the booking in stuff - I am having another scan on Monday and if by some miracle it is all ok I will do it then

I am also in the process of buying a new home but quite far away from where I live and have no idea how you switch hospitals. Also a bit worried as I will be high risk due to some medical issues I have and my age and so want to be near a hospital that has all the gear...but again will worry about that after Monday hopefully!! 🤞
