@BabyG08 I've had that a couple of times now over the last week or 2....no pattern to it, it just comes without warning and totally takes my breath away!

@NamiSwan I'd like the joining details for the group too if possible

sel2223 · 17/07/2020 10:54

Pregnancy insomnia is the worst, I think I got about 2 hours last night and now absolutely exhausted.
Between random pains/cramps/twinges, needing a wee every 5 seconds, toothache (i had a tooth pulled earlier in the week) and struggling to find a comfortable position to lie in....it's just absolutely hopeless.
Not sure I can do this for another 3 weeks!

squashie34 · 17/07/2020 11:07

I am with you all here 100% ladies.. sleeping is just a thing that happens for periods of max 40 minutes now before I get cramp in my hip, have to roll over which takes so long I then need a wee, by the time I've walked my pelvis hurts and I'm wide awake... and repeat 😆 does anyone also feel like whichever side they lie on that's the side baby feels like a mole trying to burrow themselves under where they lie? 🤷‍♀️

MamaFirst · 17/07/2020 11:28

I don't do FB, but I'd be up for a little WhatsApp group for the ladies here so it's nice and private, if anyone is interested in that.

@squashie34 lol omg snap, I feel like by the time I've turned over I then need another wee too. I put an extra duvet folded in half under the sheet, to give the mattress a bit of extra padding for my poor hips.

@firstmummytobe I can't imagine the emotions you are going through. Therea no wrong way to feel, but it's no surprise at all you feel a bit lost. Hang in there Mama, you're doing amazingly.

JMill13 · 17/07/2020 11:45

Right there with you @squashie34 keep feeling baby trying to burrow out of either side of my belly. So weird. I've tried a 12ft pregnancy pillow, normal pillows, cushions, I still end up with hip cramps it's great craic honestly.

I think I'd personally prefer a WhatsApp group though am happy with Facebook too. Just whichever is best for everyone really.

Beau2020 · 17/07/2020 11:46

@MamaFirst I'm up for a Whatsapp group too, so we can all keep in touch 🙏

sezzywoowoo21 · 17/07/2020 11:49

I’m not on fb but wld love a wassapp group ❤️😄 xx

Firstmummytobe · 17/07/2020 11:53

Do you think we should start a WhatsApp group now? Xx

squashie34 · 17/07/2020 11:56

I'd definitely be up for a WhatsApp group too! Xx

Flutterbunny · 17/07/2020 12:01

I’d be up for a WhatsApp group too!

Is anybody else feeling pretty breathless at the moment too? I find just going up and down the stairs a struggle at the moment.
I read about that poor girl in the news recently that told her midwife she was breathless and they said it was normal and what happened to her doesn’t bare to even think about. It’s really been playing on my mind though and I think making me paranoid.

cannotmakemymindup · 17/07/2020 12:14

I don't mind WhatsApp either but we'll need to sort out via pm and obviously just be careful as some of us have been here through most of the threads etc, so definitely appear more legit etc,.

Beau2020 · 17/07/2020 12:23

@cannotmakemymindup yeah that's a really good point! Need to ensure safety xx

JMill13 · 17/07/2020 12:24

@flutterbunny what happened to the woman? I've been being super careful at making sure I take my inhaler twice a day like I'm supposed to whereas my whole life I just take it when I remember to.

squashie34 · 17/07/2020 12:55

@cannotmakemymindup very good point about safety- I'm happy to set up the WhatsApp group and have people DM me their numbers, but how can we ensure people are who they say they are? 🤷‍♀️ I agree there's definitely some regulars of us on this who've been there since thread one x

squashie34 · 17/07/2020 12:57

@Flutterbunny is that the story about the young girl who was a YouTube influence? Being breathless is normal in pregnancy but I think being mindful of it is gets a lot worse than maybe it has been or if you have any chest pain it's worth getting checked out.. also any swellings in the legs xx

Flutterbunny · 17/07/2020 13:06

Yes that’s the lady @squashie34.
@JMill13 - it’s not asthma related, I would do exactly the same too if I had asthma. I’ve got bad hay fever at the moment which doesn’t help.

I’m such a Paranoid Susan, my anxiety creeps in sometimes and I think replicates the symptoms of whatever disease I decide that I have on that particular day!

MamaFirst · 17/07/2020 13:25

Someone is just going to have to decide I guess, and hope nobody is offended if the group doesn't feel they know someone we'll enough to add to WhatsApp.
Who started the original thread? Maybe someone who has been here since the beginning could get a group going and they can decide who else to invite. I think I joined on the second thread x

NamiSwan · 17/07/2020 13:35

Hmm so WhatsApp group might be the way to go. I asked in the FB group about how to invite people, and people were a bit weird about it, not wanting new members. So I guess either a WhatsApp group or a new Facebook group?

NamiSwan · 17/07/2020 13:37

Re: the WhatsApp group, I only joined this thread on thread 3 but was previously on other August 2020 threads that were running in Dec-March time, so I guess if you search my user name you'd see I was genuine? I guess thats one way of dealing with newbies...

cannotmakemymindup · 17/07/2020 13:49

I didn't do the original thread but have done the last two or three.

@Flutterbunny she died of a pulmonary embolism didn't she.. but it was also documented that she had been saying she felt awful and 'like she was dying' for a few weeks before that though and not seen the doctor - and I think by the sounds of it you would really know when you didn't feel right and seek medical advice much before that.

My dad had a massive pulmonary embolism about 7 weeks ago (the worst week of my life without being able to see him due to COVID) and when the ambulance was called his oxygen levels were very low, they test them with that clip on your finger, and he couldn't talk his breathing was that shallow. Also had terrible chest pain and they thought it was a heart attack at first.

Pregnant women are more at risk of a PE as our blood is stickier but the risk is still low - if you're really worried, see if you can see a GP and just ask them to test your blood pressure and oxygen levels- if they are a good level you know all is fine and it'll take 2 minutes. If you phone them and explain you might not even need an appointment you could just pop in?

I honestly think breathless on its own is baby squashing your lungs but if you're worried just get checked for your own piece of mind ☺️

Havlerr · 17/07/2020 14:41

I’m 36 weeks now and really struggling to sleep, mainly because I feel like baby is squashing my lungs and I can’t breathe properly. It took me hours to sleep last night, but once I get to sleep I’m completely knocked out until my husband wakes me up at 11am. Every little task is getting tiring now and my average steps a day is no more than 1000. Once upon a time it used to be closer to 10k!

I had my 36 week appointment yesterday in my local standalone MLU. They’re very into hypnobirthing and the pools are lovely. I had a long chat with the midwife and it’s all of a sudden gotten very real I’ll be having a baby soon hopefully! Saying 3 weeks left sounds a lot shorter than 4 weeks left somehow Shock

Re WhatsApp group, I’ve been on MN for years and use AIBU a lot so recently made a new account for pregnancy so I don’t get found outBlush some of my older posts would be very outing! I like the idea that one person who has been here from the beginning to collect phone numbers via PM and then make a group? Will be weird to introduce myself with my real name tho haha but i think it will be nice to do it before all the babies arrive and bring newborn chaos with themGrin

Oldestchild90s · 17/07/2020 15:03

I'm not on facebook but i'll be up for the Whatsapp group. I've been on here since the beginning 😀 had my 36 week appt today, she's finally head down woo!!

Got moaned at for putting on weight though 😂

@Firstmummytobe Hope you're all ok!

Beau2020 · 17/07/2020 15:06

What happened to the youtube influencer is absolutely heartbreaking and it really affected me severely. Very very sad.

Another idea with the WhatsApp group, whoever creates it you can share the link to it so people won't need to give out their numbers. The link can just be shared with the members who are trusted perhaps?

Lucky08 · 17/07/2020 15:14

My mum passed of a PE a few years ago too, she was only 53. She complained of breathlessness, lethargy and a pain in her side before diagnosis. If anyone is worried about breathing then you can by something of Amazon/ Ebay called a pulse oximeter for relatively cheap. This monitors your oxygen levels.
