@havlerr hahah think we're definitely crazy. We haven't viewed the one we're looking at yet (going Tuesday) but it needs so much done even just looking at photos. It has the ugliest bathroom, and conservatory and needs a complete new kitchen. OH's dad's side of the family have a lot of builders, plumbers, joiners etc. So they'd come help us do everything. We're thinking we could get away with getting the basics done in about a month and then just do the rest as we go. I wouldn't have a clue where to start with DIY, can just about use a paint brush 😂

@firstmummytobe omg he is beautiful! Congratulations mama! Hopefully you recover quickly and get reunited with your little man super fast.

Camia · 16/07/2020 11:35

@Firstmummytobe Congratulations! He's beautiful! I'm glad you're both getting the best care you can and hope you can take him home soon

2020AUG · 16/07/2020 13:56

Aw congratulations @firstmummytobe, hope you recover soon so you can be with him.

Firstmummytobe · 16/07/2020 14:02

Thankyou very much everyone!
So little man is doing really really well in his little incubator, and he’s off down to theatre now to fix that naughty little bowel of his!
They’ve given us a lovely room in the hospital which is amazing as it’s so easy to just get up and visit him everyday.

His name is Archie-James Owen Rawcliffe!! And I know I’m going to need a knew username😂🙈

I think it would be lovely if we could make a postnatal thread too for after we’ve all had our babas!! I’ve not only enjoyed following but being apart of, giving and taking advice and sharing experiences in this thread and to be honest I don’t know what I’d of done without it at times!

❤️

cannotmakemymindup · 16/07/2020 15:28

@Firstmummytobe I was totally planning on keeping the threads going for post natal support. This has been such a helpful friendly group! I think your gorgeous son is the second baby on this thread. By the time some of us have our babies you'll be a pro.

That hospital room sounds lovely. Hope his surgery goes as quickly as possible for you to.

@firstmummytobe aw definitely, I'm eagerly anticipating everyone else's birth stories and hearing how all us Mummy's are getting on. That's lovely they've given you a room to stay in and you can be close by. Hoping the surgery goes perfectly.

JMill13 · 16/07/2020 15:56

@firstmummytobe glad to hear. Hope the surgery goes nice and fast.

Agreed on keeping this going, feel like a lot of us will need it after, especially middle of the night doing feeds driving ourselves crazy with tiredness 😂 or with every little cough or sneeze or move baby makes.

MaisieMolly · 16/07/2020 16:56

Definitely agreed on keeping this going, it’s been wonderful to hear everyone’s updates and can’t believe we have some “August” mummys already and we’re only in the middle of July!

Who is going to be next??? Grin

KittyKat2020 · 16/07/2020 17:00

@Firstmummytobe congratulations he looks a cutie!

Camia · 16/07/2020 17:04

I second (third? Fourth?) a postnatal thread, I've really enjoyed being able to talk to all of you. And very curious to see who gets to meet their little one next!

I have everything crossed that I don't have much longer to wait, I'm absolutely miserable. It feels like braxton hicks and cramps are going back and forth practically all the time, and I'm so huge and achy moving around even a little is painful and difficult. Baby feels like he's about to fall out. I'm so ready to be done and I'm pretty sure I'm a nightmare to poor OH, I'm so cranky and impatient lately

TellMeMore2020 · 16/07/2020 17:09

Hi ladies. My partner is being a bit overwhelming for me at the moment and I already suffer with mental health issues.

His mood swings are making me very uneasy and I don't want to deal with them atm.

Does anyone know anywhere I can go for a break from him? No family or friends close by.

It's not as easy as booking a hotel for the night or something like that cause he'd never let me go.

Any ideas 😔

TellMeMore2020 · 16/07/2020 17:11

36 weeks pregnant I forgot to say

sel2223 · 16/07/2020 17:17

@TellMeMore2020 what do you mean he'd never let you go? Are you safe?

No family or friends, no hotel.....what about an Airbnb for a few nights? Or are you talking a refuge type situation? How bad are these mood swings?

Havlerr · 16/07/2020 17:22

@Firstmummytobe congratulations lovely! Love that last picture of him especially aww. So exciting seeing baby photos and we’re not yet in August!

Maybe if everyone didn’t mind, we could switch over to fb/WhatsApp postnatally? Only thinking that as it’s quite nice sharing photos and this probably isn’t the best place for photos. Only if everyone is comfortable with that of course! I think it’s such a nice idea to know others with similar age babies so you don’t feel alone at 3am feeds.

@JMill13 haha good luck! I recommend making a new insta account just for home stuff as it’s a brilliant way of following lots of home reno accounts and then getting ideas and tips. I made one (no posts on it yet as I don’t want to jinx us until we get the keys) and it’s great being able to save tips and tricks other people have done.

@TellMeMore2020 that doesn’t sound great, do you feel safe? If you’re new to MN, there is a relationships board which I’d recommend posting on as you will get lots of unbiased helpful advice and information. The phrase he wouldn’t let you go sounds highly controlling / abusive so definitely think about this relationship carefully before baby is born as it’s a known fact all abusive behaviour escalates lots during pregnancy and postnatally as this is the most vulnerable period. Remember, if you aren’t married, you are in a good position as you don’t have to put him on the birth certificate. Once he’s on the birth certificate he will always have that level of control over you and baby so definitely worth discussing with your midwife or on the relationships board if you don’t want to say it in real life yet. Hope all goes well xx

JMill13 · 16/07/2020 18:14

@havlerr fb/WhatsApp is a good idea. I'd be up for that.

Great tip on the insta account, def will do that. Fingers crossed it goes in our favour on Tuesday when we go view. When we arranged the viewing this morning the estate agent said they had 20 viewings yesterday but had no offers as yet but that was half 9 this morning so there could be offers in by now.
We want it mostly for the garden it's huge, be perfect for entertaining, playing with the dog and the OH wants football nets up for him, the dog and baby (obvs when it's not a baby anymore). Think a DIY job would be class though too, cause you can get exactly what you want then too.

Beau2020 · 16/07/2020 21:19

@Firstmummytobe

Oh my goodness! I'm so happy for you, congrats!!

squashie34 · 16/07/2020 21:27

@Havlerr great idea, would totally be up for a WhatsApp group/Facebook especially for those 3am chats I'm sure we will all have.

Honestly you have all been amazing and such a support during these really unknown times- I've felt there's no worry I can't share and loved hearing everyone's pregnancy journeys.
