@TellMeMore2020 there's some great advice there from the PPs.. just how bad are these 'mood swings? I hope you are safe x

Luna321 · 16/07/2020 21:43

Been so busy recently have just caught up! Congratulations on the two new babies 😀

I had a midwife appointment this week and baby is still breech and has been since 27 weeks (I'm almost 35 weeks now) so totally got my head set on having a c section now as I'm high risk anyway and was ideally hoping for a vbac. I just feel like it's not meant to be. My last was also breech the entire way through 😬

Last day at work (from home) tomorrow. I got to say goodbye to my class today online. Was so sad to end the year like this without seeing them properly 😢 But can't wait to give my son some decent quality mummy time now before the baby comes.

Luna321 · 16/07/2020 21:45

Oh and I'd definitely be interested in another follow on chat group 👍

Bert2020 · 16/07/2020 22:15

FB would be better for me if possible. Definitely a great idea, my previous birth group are a great bunch also and still helpful 4 years later. One of my closest friends was made through this.

Firstmummytobe · 16/07/2020 23:27

So Archie pulled through his surgery, his bowel is perfect and he’s very stable. At just one day old he’s had life threatening surgery and he’s so strong my little fighter❤️

He just looks so tiny compared to all the wires on his body and the tubes on his face, there Is a big opening right across his stomach where they’ve opened him up to perform the surgery and it’s such a big thing to take in💔
It’s such an overwhelming feeling I haven’t held my son since he was born it’s so strange I don’t even feel like I’ve given birth I just don’t know how to feel to be honest. I jsut need to rest up and recover now so I can be the best mummy to him as possible xxx

Newmama29 · 16/07/2020 23:40

@Firstmummytobe that’s amazing news! 💙 you’ve got a brave soldier there! You have done so amazingly well & you should be proud of yourself. I can’t imagine the emotions you must be feeling but you are so much stronger than you know. It won’t be long until this is all a memory & you’ll have a lifetime of cuddles ❤️

sel2223 · 17/07/2020 00:01

@Firstmummytobe stay strong! You are doing everything you can possibly do and I have no doubt at all just from reading your posts about your pregnancy journey that you are going to be an amazing mummy!

That's fantastic news that Archie's surgery went well. He's already shown what a fighter he is so I'm sure you'll have him in your arms making up for all these lost cuddles soon enough! Wishing him (and you) a speedy recovery.

Be kind to yourself. This whole situation is totally overwhelming but you are taking it all in your stride. You are an inspiration to us all x

squashie34 · 17/07/2020 00:15

@Firstmummytobe what an amazing mummy you are with such bravery- I can't imagine all the emotions you are going through but it's great to hear that Archie is such a fighter and it won't be long until you can cuddle him and never have to let go!

In the meantime, get yourself some rest, don't forget that you have been through an ordeal too both physically and mentally. The stronger you are feeling, the more you will be ready to help Archie once he recovers from his surgery and needs his mummy full time! 💙

You are so brave x

Firstmummytobe · 17/07/2020 07:10

Thankyou so so much it means a lot honestly,
Turns out this was the problem:
www.chop.edu/conditions-diseases/meconium-ileus
So it’s very likely that he does have cystic fibrosis but as I said it’s jsut extra special care for an extra special little babe🥰
Just called his dedicated NICU nurse and she said he pulled through the anaesthetic and he is doing absolutely amazingly thank god he is such a fighter💙💙💙

Beau2020 · 17/07/2020 07:23

@Firstmummytobe aww your little fighter indeed! At least now you have some more clear answers now and it won't be long until you can hold your little one in your arms ❤️🙏

Firstmummytobe · 17/07/2020 07:26

I know @beau2020 that’s the only thing I haven’t had a snuggle since I gave birth to him and I won’t be able to for a long time but imagine how amazing it’s going to be when we have our first cuddles ❤️🥺😍

BabyG08 · 17/07/2020 07:37

@Firstmummytobe so happy for you and so pleased to know your little fighter is doing so well ❤️ Wishing you both a speedy recovery.

BabyG08 · 17/07/2020 07:44

Don’t know if anyone has had similar but last night I got what felt like a sudden wave of tightening/tummy pain/nausea/lower back pain and (tmi) loose bowels. It actually had me in tears the first time round and then I got off the toilet and it happened again. After the second time I felt okay and managed to sleep. This isn’t a sign of things to come Is it 😳 should I be worried? I felt like such a wimp, how am I supposed to cope with labour 🙈

sezzywoowoo21 · 17/07/2020 07:50

@Firstmummytobe...firstly a Hugh congratulations on the safe arrival of your beautiful bby boy and a little Archie that’s my sons name...I’m so glad to here he’s doing so well and will soon be in your arms I couldn’t imagine what your going through but like we’ve all said your such an inspiration to us all so strong and brave and positive...you really are going to be the perfect mummy to little Archie 💙...love hearing all the positive posts take care and rest you deserve it xx

Mammyofasuperbaby · 17/07/2020 08:23

Wow so much has happened since Monday.
@Firstmummytobe, a massive congratulations on the birth of your little boy. I hope you have a smooth nicu journey. My son was in for 5 weeks 4 years ago.
There is something that I'd like to share with you about nicu babies. They have a strength that is superhuman - they are born so fragile but they climb mountains in their first days of life and never look back. They are awe inspiring and can give you a strength you never knew you had.
I live by an ethos that if my son can survive everything he has been through and will go through, then I can do anything to. It really does help.
Hope you get that first cuddle soon

NamiSwan · 17/07/2020 08:51

If anyone wants a postnatal group on Facebook, there is already an August pregnancy group from on here (from a different thread that was running earlier in the year). Its called "0820" and the group picture is a dolphin.

Is anyone else suffering from pregnancy insomnia? Last four days I have woken up between 2-4am and not being able to get back to sleep for a couple of hours (if at all). I'm starting to really struggle 😴😴😴 Last day of work today (I'm 38+1) so next week I should be able to nap during the day at least!

cannotmakemymindup · 17/07/2020 09:13

@Firstmummytobe Aww so glad his surgery went really well. I'm sure it is incredibly difficult that you haven't snuggled him yet, hopefully soon though.

@NamiSwan Yes I am not sleeping great at the moment. Then my DH is all yawns after work and I know he's worked hard but I am like how can you be tired - you slept all night!! Thanks for headsup about fb group. Great there's one already.

that's great news @firstmummy about his operation. It much be so difficult I really feel for you but you have done amazing. stay strong and positive.
@NamiSwan yes! The last 3 nights I've woken up at 2-3am and cannot get back to sleep 😴 No real reason, a bit of heartburn sometimes. I'm only 35 weeks so would really rather this didn't continue for the next 5 weeks 😮

squashie34 · 17/07/2020 09:41

@NamiSwan I can only see an 0820 for Scotland and one for south west.. is there a general one as I'm not in either of those areas?

NamiSwan · 17/07/2020 09:49

@squashie34 there is a general one, but I've just realised it's a hidden group 🙈 I'll ask the admins of the group for the invite details!

JMill13 · 17/07/2020 10:10

@firstmummytobe so glad Archie is doing well after surgery. Hopefully you get all the cuddles soon!

Sleeping at the minute is woeful. Actually kept Thinking I was sleeping loads last night for the first time in ages but any time I checked the clock it was 40minutes or an hour later 🙄. Between the heat, the uncomfortable bump, heartburn, sore hips and needing to pee its all fun and games. Though OH hasn't been sleeping great either because of the heat so all fun & games in our house. 35 weeks today so also hoping this isnt what I'm in for, for the next 5 weeks. I'd like some sort of decent night's sleep before baby comes and we won't have the luxury.

cannotmakemymindup · 17/07/2020 10:13

The fb one I joined does look like it has been posted on since January so I was wondering if it was the right group @NamiSwan

@Firstmummytobe - Great to hear that Archie is doing well, what a little trooper he is, just like his mum. Sending lots of love your way, you will have your little boy in your arms soon xx

I am 35 weeks today and also suffering with lack of sleep, uncomfortable sleeping positions and heartburn. I sound like a broken record whenever anyone asks me how I am. Baby also seems to enjoy giving me a big kick in the ribs when I’m lying in a position it doesn’t like - I woke up with a start at 4am due to baby letting me know that my position was not acceptable!

JMill13 · 17/07/2020 10:45

@flutterbunny I got woken at 4am by the exact same thing. Baby was not happy with whatever way I was lying at the time 😂 it got called rude and told to go to sleep. Also sound like a broken record now. Actually at the point I wish people just wouldn't ask how I am so I don't have to lie or repeat for the 400th time that I'm knackered. We did a family zoom call the other night for dad's birthday and dad phoned me the next day to say how tired I had looked while on zoom. Yes well dad, I am 8 months pregnant, worked a full day, viewed 2 houses and rushed home to start zoom. Of course I looked tired.
