@DontStandSoClose ahh huge congratulations loving these rainbow babies 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

makingababy · 02/07/2020 21:21

@DontStandSoClose that’s brilliant news, congratulations! So happy to hear it 😊

djmbaker · 02/07/2020 21:30

@DontStandSoClose how beautiful. Congratulations love these updates.

How is everyone?? I've done loads today, been really busy.. but tonight I'm now really achey. Got lots of pulls and tugs going on! So I'm sat propped up on the sofa with my feet up.

Had some amazing news this evening... so, I have a sister that only I speak to (obviously I've explained my difficult family) well she moved to Australia with her family and new baby at Christmas 2019 and it broke my heart... well, she's just texted saying they have decided to come home for good... before Christmas!!!! So she will be here when my baby arrives. 🎉💓🙏🏻 I am so happy!!!!

@DontStandSoClose @ew1990 awwww!! This is such wonderful news!! I'm so happy for you!! 🥰 🌈

Natt99 · 02/07/2020 22:32

@DontStandSoClose so pleased for you too 🌈
@viixie that sounds really bad about your midwife. Good job you are proactive or else you could've been forgotten about. Definitely push for appointments. Is there a community midwife team you can call as I find them to be helpful?
Not impressed with my midwife either. She only works 3 days per week. A month or so ago I left 4 messages over 2 weeks before she called me back. I called this week and her phone is out of service! I called the community midwifes and they were lovely, they said I've got a f2f appointment with her on 08/07 for my 16wks but I'm wondering if she will turn up as haven't been able to confirm directly with her and she said last time appointment is likely to be phone 😏

SettyBuarez · 03/07/2020 10:34

@DontStandSoClose Congratulations! Lovely news :)

@djmbaker I'm aching like anything too. Had to ring triage on Wednesday as I had a new pain that wasn't anything I'd had before and the midwife I spoke to thought it sounded like I'd pulled something when I went for a run, so I'm resting too! That's so lovely about your sister coming back.

viixie · 03/07/2020 12:46

@Natt99 I phoned the community midwife office again this morning. Another midwife answered she said that my midwife must have forgotten Hmm she said she is next in on Sunday so has put me in her diary for her to phone me. At best I'm not going to get an appointment until next week now when I will be 17 weeks

Pea1984 · 03/07/2020 13:01

@viixie I had my 16 week appointment today and all she did was a blood pressure and urine check. Was a bit of a non event really so I’m sure having it next week won’t matter. It wasn’t even my midwife so still haven’t met her yet either. Hopefully they get you sorted though as feeling forgotten about just adds unnecessary stress.

viixie · 03/07/2020 14:38

@Pea1984 oh I thought they listened in for the heart beat for the first time at the 16 week appointment. That's what I was hoping for anyway as it stills seems surreal sometimes. Maybe it varies in different areas

calipoppy · 03/07/2020 15:02

My 16 week app happened out of the blue about a week ago I just got a call from the midwife! It was very brief just checking how I was and then scheduling a face to face for 28 weeks. Strange how much they all vary!!

makingababy · 03/07/2020 15:19

Yes, mine is scheduled but it’s just a phone call, not F2F (because of Covid).

december2020 · 03/07/2020 15:26

@viixie had my 16 week appointment today (they told me I had to book it, so wasn't done their side) and it was over the phone (covid). Probably lasted maximum 10-15mins. Just asking how I had been, any swelling on hands or feet and gave me the results of the blood work. Then just asked for any questions I had.

LoveSunshine01 · 03/07/2020 16:06

@viixie I had my 16 week today. Face to face and they did listen for the heartbeat which was amazing! Had a urine test and blood pressure and general chat about results, next steps and booked in my next appointment. I don't think it matters if it's a week late, I'm only 15 weeks and she didn't seem bothered. They didn't even know my new due date so they can't book them that precisely.

djmbaker · 03/07/2020 20:38

Jordan ordered a takeaway tonight from my fave Italian in Chester but we live too far away to get it home, so we sat in his van eating it by the river and then I looked down and my bump had gone huge 😂😂 I know I have definitely have popped this week.. but the heavy carb dinner definitely enhanced it 😂😂
Hope all you ladies are ok! xx

djmbaker · 03/07/2020 20:39

Sorry it's posted it twice for some reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

viixie · 04/07/2020 11:02

@djmbaker loving the bump, mines definitely more visible after a good dinner Grin

Hanrora06 · 04/07/2020 13:36

My bump definitely enhances after I've eaten haha!

I am wondering what you are all planning to do for Christmas? I just saw another post about this and a few people are due in the run up to...but we are all due basically Christmas!! I'll be somewhere around the 19th. I have just not really even thought about it but it would be interesting to hear people's thoughts. If I've not had the baby we'll probably go to my sister's or my mum's, with the bag prepared haha, but if I have...maybe just get people to come over and bring us lots of food!

SettyBuarez · 04/07/2020 13:51

@Hanrora06 I'm due on the 11th but if I'm late then it takes me closer to Christmas Day, so we've said we're not hosting this year (I usually cook for both families and there's 10 of us in total), but we'll have people round a few days after and get some quiches/party food/buffet stuff in and give it a couple of hours time limit. Obviously all depends on the pandemic situation. DH's grandma is so excited at the prospect of a great-grandchild and she'd definitely want to meet baby when she visits at Christmas!

Katbaby · 04/07/2020 14:50

Hey girls is anyone getting food guilt??

I'm trying to make decent choices now my sickness has gone but can't resist chocolate and sweets most days, not in huge amounts but definitely daily. Also had a fair few maccies over the past few weeks 1-2 a week sometimes.

Starting to perhaps worry too much about it, as I always eat Seeded brown bread with My sandwiches and weetabix for breakfast, and lots of fruit as well?

But I'm getting a maccies with my friend tonight and I'm already feeling guilty

On the plus side Im restarting my hello fresh subscription to try and get some decent food in!

Hanrora06 · 04/07/2020 15:49

@SettyBuarez I like the party nibbles idea. Sounds like a good call. And yeah fingers crossed the whole pandemic thing might be slightly better by then....

@Katbaby I wouldn't worry at all! You're by no means eating anything to excess. A few pieces of chocolates and sweets every day is fine, it's all about a bit of everything in moderation. Maccies is fine, and it's not 1-2 times a week every single week. Even if it was, if you were otherwise feeling healthy and fit and full of energy, maybe your body just needed the carbs and calories. I never eat enough fruit and veg, even before pregnancy, so I feel a bit bad about that but I'm still taking my pregnancy vitamin and feel really good right now so I think it's OK and I'll just try to be conscious of it and add in some extra veg to dinners.

SettyBuarez · 04/07/2020 16:22

@Hanrora06 it's quite low effort with just being stuck in the oven and plated up and then people can help themselves! And Christmas party food is always really good.

@Katbaby that sounds fine. It's all about balance. You're not having a maccies and chocolate for every meal, just occasionally. The body wants what it wants at the moment. Don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy your time with your friend later!

Katbaby · 04/07/2020 16:30

Thanks so much @SettyBuarez and @Hanrora06 I really appreciate that I have often been one for food guilt even before pregnancy I've always been obsessed with my weight and dieting and going to the gym and obviously with no gym and less energy and my belly looking fatter finding it a little hard to deal with.

Maybe it will be easier when it's a bump rather than a lump🤣

I haven't thought as far ahead as Christmas plans yet, usually we do one year at my mums and then one year at his sisters. It's the year of his sisters this year and because we all live within 3 miles of each other its really not difficult to leave things to last minute. I'm due on 28th so a little after Christmas but I'm hoping I come a little early (guaranteed I'll come late and it will be a January baby) so will just play the day by ear. She cooks for the 5000 regardless of whether me and DH make it so don't need to worry in advance😊

emmalily9 · 04/07/2020 17:17

We've been for a scan today and got to find out the gender. So excited to be having a girl 💖 been so lovely to have DH with me as he's been quite gutted to not be able to go to the nhs scan so far. Can't believe the difference from the 12 week scan!

As for Christmas not thought that far ahead, but I think we'll just have to be organised as I expect she'll be born beginning of December. Current challenge is trying to think of a name, we've not considered any names so far. Can see her being born and we won't have a name at this rate

Pea1984 · 04/07/2020 17:52

Congrats @emmalily9! We had a scan today too and also told girl 💗 The sonographer did say to double check at 20 week scan though as the little pickle was moving their legs a lot. We shall wait and see 🥰 Very pleased my husband could come in too.
