Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

@brumble84 Thanks so much, I'm keeping well. Loving this part of second trimester, got my energy back, a little bump, but not huge yet. Embracing these weeks were I think pregnancy is at it's best. Just can't wait to start feeling proper movements now, Getting what I'm sure is the odd flutter, so hopefully not too long to go.

@Helski123 No problem. I think there is a good bit about it on the citizens advice bureau page that explains that you should get them.

MaverickDanger · 01/07/2020 12:19

@LoveSunshine01 we are just going to have Christmas for (hopefully!) 3. My family are 200 miles away and DH’s halfway around the world, so we will probably just buy a load of ready made M&S party food!

A couple of neighbours have said we can pop round if we are up to it, or they will plate us up some food!

Fingers crossed he/she will have arrived by then, I’m due 15th.

Bumble84 · 01/07/2020 12:28

@LoveSunshine01 this is a bit of a dilemma. Who knows what the situation will be with covid as well (both our parents over 70) I’m due 23rd and I’m definitely not hosting, no way! There’s a chance we could be in hospital I guess. If babies just been born I’m not sure how keen we would be taking baby in to a group of people and getting passed around because of covid. I can see us either just spending it on our own or maybe with just parents.

I’m actually getting quite anxious about a second peak happening now as it seems inevitable but if I annoy a few folk by not letting them visit to protect my baby then so be it.

calipoppy · 01/07/2020 13:51

@LoveSunshine01 we have the same dilemma, due 15th so most likely before Christmas. My mum just said her advice would be to keep our options open as we can't know how we will feel, my family are just over an hour away. But COVID definitely adds another dilemma as I know it might be over reacting but I really don't know if I'll feel comfortable with people holding the baby etc unless they've really minimised contact with other people for 2 weeks before! Is that overreacting?!

raffat89 · 01/07/2020 14:25

@LoveSunshine01 We were just talking with family about this at the weekend. I ended up with an EMCS with my first so have the option of an ELCS or VBAC this time around. If I go for a CS we would know baby will be with us about a week before christmas, lucky to have my parents a 30 minute drive away so said we would likely just go there for a few hours for the meal to see everyone and open some presents. If I go for a VBAC then like a few others have said I think we'll keep all options open, as if I haven't had baby yet I wouldn't want to be far from home (but my due date is 26 Dec), so really could be happening anytime.

I'm just thinking that this year it's all going to be very different, but it'll just be this one, and then all the rest will be back to the usual joyous mayhem of trying to see everyone :)

@calipoppy I don't think that's overreacting at all, you should totally only do what you're comfortable with!

ceebee21 · 01/07/2020 17:20

Christmas is up in the air!

This year we will be due to go to my parents - they are hosting others anyway, so it will just be a case of if we can go, we go, but obviously if at hospital, or recently had baby etc we may just stay at home. I know my mum will bring us over a dinner haha

I am due boxing day, but who knows!

djmbaker · 01/07/2020 18:38

We are having Christmas dinner early, my partners birthday is the 2nd December so we have said we will have his family round then for a pretend Christmas.. and then, the plan for us is just spend it alone and wait for baby... I'm due Christmas Day, so no big event this year. I'll probably still order some food just incase it comes early.. or late.. but I think it will just be Jordan and I chilling at home until little one makes an appearance.. or we will be getting used to life as a 3. I don't really want our mums to come round straight away anyway.. that may change of course but I like the idea of Jordan and I doing it alone for a few days and settling. I get really stressed when people tell me what to do so I think I'll need a few days to find my feet and then open the door to everyone.
After Christmas , it's my birthday on the 30th so if baby comes before then (fingers crossed) we will possibly arrange to see everyone then.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am happy to just scrap Christmas this year, we are having a baby - that's the best gift in the world!

Bumble84 · 02/07/2020 10:13

@ew1990 that’s fantastic, congrats!!

@djmbaker that’s actually a really good idea for Christmas. My birthday is also December so we could have a birthday/Christmas dinner, thanks!

LoveSunshine01 · 02/07/2020 11:22

@ew1990 Congratulations! I'm glad that happened so quickly for you!!

Some good ideas for Christmas! We're lucky in a way that my husband's family are abroad and don't really do Christmas so it's only my family to see! But @djmbaker my mum has the same birthday as you so that could be the perfect solution, could go for her birthday instead of Christmas! She is always complaining that her birthday gets forgotten between Christmas and New Year. Guess we need to wait and see when baby decides to appear!

makingababy · 02/07/2020 14:21

Congratulations @ew1990 ! That’s great news, so happy for you 😊

PocoyoandEllie · 02/07/2020 17:53

Congratulations @ew1990 ❤️

Does anyone else just not feel very pregnant now? I am 16 weeks on Saturday and I just don’t feel pregnant, I have a private scan on Monday and really worried that I am going to go and something will have happened 😩

viixie · 02/07/2020 18:09

Has anyone else got problems with their midwife? I haven't met her yet just a telephone booking at 8 weeks. I was 16 weeks yesterday so assume
I should be having an appointment. I phoned the midwives office a couple of days ago, left a message and no response. Rang again this morning and my assigned midwife picked up. She said are you sure I'm your midwife? I said yes and said what my GP surgery is. She said oh yes I am then and I should have an appointment and some sort of jab? She said she was in clinic in the gp surgery this afternoon, took my mobile and said she would phone me back and book me in then. I've heard nothing ! I phoned the gp surgery at 16:30 to ask if she was still there, they said they don't do bookings for midwives, they don't even know who's in the building as they're just in reception Angry

makingababy · 02/07/2020 18:52

@viixie I’ve not had any problems like that at all. That’s rubbish. Time to get aggressive with frequent calls and ask what can be done about it if someone else answers at the practice?

Havingalittlebaby · 02/07/2020 19:11

Hello, I’m new here Smile Due 27th December

@viixie my midwife booked me in for my 16 appointment at the end of my 8 week appointment and they also confirmed this at my 12 week scan. My 16 week will only be over the phone and I won’t be getting any jabs. I would keep calling until you get an answer! Sorry to hear they are being unorganised.

A question about Christmas. I want to spend Christmas at my mums, which is an hour away from my hospital. If go into labour my husband and I will have to drive an for an hour. Do you think going an hour away 2 days before my due date is a silly idea?

DontStandSoClose · 02/07/2020 19:18

I was just having a nosey back at the thread seeing how you were all getting on, I was on the original thread (I was due Christmas Day) and miscarried at 6/7 weeks early May. I’m nearly 6 weeks pregnant again 😊. I found it pretty hard when I stupidly glanced back at the thread when I knew I would be 12 weeks and saw all your lovely scans, very silly of me! I found out I was pregnant again a week later thankfully. Glad you are all getting on well X

Katbaby · 02/07/2020 19:33

Evening girls 😊

@ew1990 @DontStandSoClose so happy to hear about your rainbow babies ❤️❤️🌈
Good luck to you both 🤞

Not much to report here except I'm starting to get a teeny bump!? It's small but there 😂 just looks like I've had a heavy meal but all the time!

@Havingalittlebaby I personally wouldn't fancy being in the car for an hour in labour if the baby was coming but I understand you wanting to spend christmas with your mum! It's a difficult choice.
