Hello , I’m. Due the 02 jan BUT I’m having a section two weeks before as I’ve already had two emergency sections with my girls.
I had a growth scan last week (I’m type 2 diabetic) and baby is measuring big. Baby stomach is off the scale.
I immediately had a breakdown crying /worrying but was told to calm and try to keep sugars down . I have another scan on the 3rd November to see his baby is doing.
I’m on insulin and metformin but my levels are up and down they always have been.
My daughters were 7lb6 oz 42 weeks no diabetes
And 6lb 2oz 39 weeks gestational diabetes.
I’m so worried that baby will be huge!

Mycrazylife85 · 22/10/2020 13:38

@Yellowbeansontoast I just had my 32 week appointment and baby's head is still down (it has been since they started looking) but it's 'free', not engaged. It's all on the notes so I had a google of what they all mean.

Incidentally the back of the baby I was feeling this morning and sure was a back, they think is a leg 💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️

😆

I don't know how accurate it is when they measure babies, I've heard so many stories where they get it wildly wrong

Yellowbeansontoast · 22/10/2020 14:57

@Mycrazylife85 who knows what crazy positions they get themselves into, proper little acrobats!

Hopefully the midwife was right, would love to not need a c-section :)

calipoppy · 22/10/2020 18:00

Has anyone had the flu jab? I had it yesterday and today I feel horrendous like I'm coming down with something! Wondering how long it'll last 😬

Yellowbeansontoast · 22/10/2020 19:32

@calipoppy I had it yesterday, haven't noticed anything except an achey arm but the lady said it can happen for 2-3 days. Hope you feel better soon!

loobeelou · 22/10/2020 19:33

@calipoppy I had the flu jab on Tuesday and feel fine. Aching arm buts that's about it.

Hope your feeling better soon.

calipoppy · 22/10/2020 21:27

Sounds like I've just been unlucky!! Hopefully it'll go soon then!

Mycrazylife85 · 24/10/2020 14:57

Yeo I had mine @calipoppy. I have it every year. It's not a live vaccine and contain no virus so you won't have a cold from the vaccine but maybe feeling a little worn down. I always get a sore arm despite it being the tiniest little needle going 🤣

loobeelou · 24/10/2020 15:25

Hope you're feeling better @calipoppy

Another week down, another week closer! How is everyone doing?

Thankfully the iron infusion seems to have worked and I have a bit more energy. Just happy to not have to take the iron tablets anymore. 😅

Poodlemum1 · 27/10/2020 18:17

Well due the 2nd jan but getting a planned section on the 18th December maybe earlier as baby measuring big, I’m on maternity leave now .
I’ve just had a call from my job to say they are making people redundant due to Covid !!
I haven’t been there two year yet not until January so I don’t think I’ll qualify but what happens if you loose your job when on maternity leave ? How do you claim smp

Nic2908 · 28/10/2020 12:53

@Poodlemum1 how exciting that your baby is going to be coming sooner. My baby has consistently been measuring about the 97th centile but they are reluctant to send me for a scan. Do you mind me asking your measurements?? Have you looked on maternity action website that will give you loads of advice as to if you can be made redundant whilst on maternity etc.

Poodlemum1 · 28/10/2020 12:55

They

Poodlemum1 · 28/10/2020 13:01

@Nic2908 I haven’t been measured as I’m diabetic type 2 so I automatically go for growth scans.
I was 28 weeks and they said he was 3lb 6oz I have another next week .

I’ve called acas and have a few answers regarding work so feeling slightly better .

I’m hoping baby doesn’t get to big I want to get as close to 38 weeks as I can . My other two girls weren’t big at all but I wasn’t diabetic then.

calipoppy · 28/10/2020 21:23

How's everyone doing? I've had a bit of a weird evening, out of nowhere I've felt quite overwhelmed at the responsibility of becoming a mum and the fact that it's not something I'll ever have a break from again, like I'm saying goodbye to life as I know it!
I don't know why it's hit me today but it's a lot!!

Mycrazylife85 · 29/10/2020 09:02

Talking of baby's weight, I'm 33+4. I have weighed myself every Thursday and today, out of the blue was my biggest gain. I gained 3lb last week! That came as a bolt out the blue! Eeek! I had felt heavier!

Usually it's about 1lb ish. I'm a stone up on my pre-pregnancy weight, although I lost about 6lb in the first few months and didn't get that back until 20+ weeks.

Not wanting to obsess, it does help me focus on making the better food choices. Choosing fruit and extra veg rather than a twix. 😂 in saying that I may have had too many twix and hot chocolate this week so apples and pears this week coming! 😳

viixie · 29/10/2020 09:26

I'm 33+1 today, felt damp so went to the toilet and had a few wipes of pink blood, has anyone else had this?

Katbaby · 29/10/2020 09:47

I'm like you @Mycrazylife85 I weigh every week on a Monday and a Thursday to try and keep track. Although I skipped this morning as had an Indian last night so feeling extra bloated and chunky so didn't want to see a huge change down to water retention!

Maybe will weigh tomorrow after light tea of salmon and asparagus 🤣

How's everyone doing? I've been suffering with really low mood this last week but think that's because a colleague at work tested positive so we have all been stuck in self isolation which has meant my 31 week scan has had to be postponed along with midwife appt and flu jab! Hate life being put on hold, really getting me down!

On the plus side, when I do get back to work only 3 weeks to work until maternity leave! What pregnancy week is everyone starting mat leave?? I'll be 35+4 but using leftover annual leave from this year and a couple of weeks from next year so actual mat leave starts on due date 28th December.

loobeelou · 29/10/2020 11:18

@viixie probably worth a call to your midwife. It could be nothing but best to check.

Has anyone been having strange dreams? My dreams have been very random lately and do not make any sense 😂

Mycrazylife85 · 30/10/2020 20:14

@viixie did you get checked? Everything okay?

Mycrazylife85 · 30/10/2020 20:16

@loobeelou I don't appear to be having enough shut eye to ever get into the dream stage ☹️ between needing the loo, sore hips, and the cat 😂

I could really fancy a bonkers dream though... maybe one where I'm walking and my back doesn't hurt 😂

loobeelou · 30/10/2020 20:59

@Mycrazylife85 😂 maybe I should be thankful that I'm reaching that stage of sleep!

The joys of pregnancy 🤪

viixie · 30/10/2020 21:04

@Mycrazylife85 I phoned triage yesterday morning and she said just to keep an eye but if the bleeding increased, I had reduced movements or contractions then to call back. Nothing for the rest of the day.

This evening though I've been to the loo and wiped twice and very very faint pink on the tissue. I think I only noticed because I was looking for it. Should I be worried 😬 I didn't have any of this with my other two. I'll just post a photo from yesterday morning (sorry) x

Christmas babies thread 4!
makingababy · 30/10/2020 21:44

@viixie sorry you’re going through that. Maybe phone triage again and let them know it’s happened again, but not increased (if that’s the case?)
Let us know how you get on xx

Mycrazylife85 · 30/10/2020 23:03

@viixie if you're still worried then ring the midwives or go to the assessment centre. Follow your gut but ask medical professionals. You can't risk it.

Earlier today my husband and I were talking about only having one baby. We always said the one, most people with one seem to do fabulously but stick another in the mix it seems anyone's game. Pregnancy is tough too. My head will stick to it I'm sure, I'm also 35, but it dawned on me that I'm in the last few weeks of feeling my baby move in my tummy. When she's born she'll grow so quickly. I cried. I can't cope with the thought at the moment it makes me feel so sad

catnip99 · 31/10/2020 15:39

Hi all, haven't been on this thread in so long!!

32 weeks today with little boy, first baby and
Got the dreaded news on Thursday that my baby is too small and since then everything has gotten so hectic, I've gone from having a midwife appt every 3 weeks to suddenly 2 scans a week, regular placenta checks and specialist consultations
I've also been told by the doctor she believes im in the early stages of preeclampsia and they will induce me at 37 weeks if nothing majorly improves in the next couple of weeks

I turn 21 tomorrow and everything just seems so hectic, wondered if anyone has been through anything similar and can shed some light on the situation, I don't even know how I should be feeling??
