Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

@Bumble84 do you have any choice in hospital? Where I live there's one that is very restrictive but the other lets the partner stay the whole time you're in hospital as long as they don't leave the room once in there (so I'm going to have to pack so much food 😂)

It's dreadful how restrictive the rules are especially when most maternity wards are very separate from the rest of the hospital.

Bumble84 · 28/09/2020 11:47

@calipoppy I do have a choice of 3 but they are all the same as they’re within the same health board. It’s just another reason to hope for a simple delivery so that I can get home with baby ASAP.

@Mycrazylife85 you are so right. I was completely honest f that view as well and have just had a bit of a blip the last couple of days. Maybe it’s because I’m almost now in third trimester or maybe just damn hormones I don’t know. I hope I brought the tone of the thread down or worried anyone else. I guess the real fun starts at home and a few days sacrifice in hospital isn’t necessarily the worst. It just angers me when I see and hear of so many people flouting the rules causing the issue to worsen which then effects those of us that have followed every rule! Anyway that’s a whole other issue!

Mycrazylife85 · 30/09/2020 18:43

Oh no @Bumble84 you didn't at all. They're all valid worries. I'm having a down day myself. My back aches. I've spent another £40 at the chiropractors and my back is taped up, I've housework to do and baby feels really heavy today, especially on my bladder. I feel about half a stone heavier today. Maybe she's moved. It's either that or my IBS is flaring. It's no surprise, we're going away on Friday and I've been worrying about the journey which is about 3 hours. I'd rather not go to be honest, it's too much hassle, too much worry about loo stops and I'll be too achy from the car. I'm dreading it. 😞

Helski123 · 30/09/2020 20:08

@Mycrazzylife85 make sure you take plenty of breaks and stretch your legs.

So I had my first bump comment of "are you sure there's just one in there?" today. Wish I could have come up with a good whitty reply. I have my 28 week appointment tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how it is measuring. Not that there's anything I can do about the size of my bump anyway...

I've also signed up to some hypnobirthing online classes. Not quite sure what hypnobirthing is about tbh but they are being run by my local midwife unit for free so nothing to lose. I'm a bit early as they said for women who are 32-34 weeks but they've let me join anyway. Definitely getting more real now!

loobeelou · 30/09/2020 20:43

Why do people feel it acceptable and/or necessary to comment on bump size 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have days where my bump feels heavier than others, I think it depends on how she's lying. Im sure this also affects how many bathroom trips I take a day 😂

Agree, take plenty of breaks for bathroom stops and to stretch your legs. Hopefully it will be worth it when you get there 😊

Morning girls 💤💤

I've been quiet as not a lot to report! 27+3 today so almost in that third trimester! Feeling the insomnia for the first time tonight hence the obscenely early posting. Just so much on my mind and baby has been dancing like crazy keeping me up😂

@Mycrazylife85 we did a 2 1/2 hour trip a couple weeks ago and yes I was achey but just said to DH at the start, I want to stop at these services to wee and potentially the next ones as well. If you have in your mind that you know where your stops are you might not need them 😊 enjoy your trip if you do go.

@Helski123 people love to make unsolicited comments don't they, I've been very aware of my weight gain throughout pregnancy as I was always quite obsessive before getting pregnant - guilty of being a daily weigher!😬😬which I have managed to reduce to twice a week in pregnancy so I don't know how I'd cope getting asked a question like is there two 😩 just ignore them!! People love to "mean well"

I have my first growth scan next week and can't wait for another excuse to see little one ❤️❤️

calipoppy · 01/10/2020 09:00

Morning everyone! Funny to hear some of you are feeling down, I'm having a bit of a funny week too!

We started NCT this week and I was really disappointed, our teacher really doesn't seem too great and everything she covered was so basic plus she didn't really help us get to know each other or relax. I know it's tricky over zoom but it was a real let down! Has anyone else done it? Interested to know if I'm just unlucky!

MrsSmith2020 · 01/10/2020 09:25

@calipoppy we have the NCT via zoom
Starting next month, I'm gutted it's not in person. We thought about cancelling it.

I have been very emotional this week. But mostly excited

I cannot stop eating. I'm about to have my
Second breakfast - somebody stop me Grin

Mycrazylife85 · 01/10/2020 13:22

Thank you all for the travel comments. I've done everything I can really. I have seen services every hour and will stop before that if needed. Hubs is so unfazed by it which is great but I'm really having to reign it in. I am a dreadful traveler also and generally get into a cycle of worrying about travelling and them or kicking my IBS off, which makes me need to pee more also, and the cycle continues, then add pregnancy into the mix.

Noticed more movements above my ribs recently so I'm not sure where she is but she definitely moved and I feeling the pressure. And the more frequent trips to the loo also 😞

I've noticed if I sip my water bottle through the day then I'm better than if I have a hot cup of anything at once.

I haven't had any comments as yet but there's time. It's so tricky. I always used to keep it neutral and say "you're looking great" or everyone loves to hear the "you look so neat". I am clearly looking pregnant as I didn't get asked to show my maternity exemption today at either the dentist or pharmacy! 😂

Hoping everyone's mood is lifting. Our house smells of lavender everywhere. It's been my saviour

Helski123 · 01/10/2020 20:37

Feeling like a pin cushion today, had my 28 week bloods, flu jab in 1 arm and whooping cough in the other. But also feeling super chilled now after the hypnobirthing class. Covered relaxation techniques and breathing and the importance of staying calm during labour. Wasn't quite sure what to expect but hoping it will be useful.

Also bump measured around the 30th centile today so I'm not enormous 😂

loobeelou · 04/10/2020 17:02

How is everyone doing? Finally into the 3rd trimester, 12 weeks to go!

Has anyone got itchy legs? I'm pretty sure my skin is just a bit dry from the weather change but google says otherwise 😂

Nic2908 · 04/10/2020 17:50

I am 30 weeks tomorrow. Today hasn't been a good day. I went for a walk and had to stop twice to sit down. Just when I feel I can't get any bigger.... I get bigger!! I am sure tomorrow will be a better day today I'm feeling like a hippopotamus. Going to start the postive birthing company online pack next week and so hopefully that will help keep me feeling positive.

MaverickDanger · 04/10/2020 17:55

I’m feeling the same @Nic2908 - 30 weeks on Tuesday & just feel so huge and uncomfortable.

Both DH and I are tall, so I’m not expecting a tiny baby but my 28 weeks fundal measurement was way off the charts 😂 I’m still under 10kg weight gain so it can’t all be cake.

I have bad pelvic pain which the midwife keeps dismissing as normal aches and pains. I don’t think it’s normal to feel like you’ve been hit with a sledgehammer on the pubic bone every time you move.

I start hypnobirthing classes on Wednesday so will see how that goes. I’m not sure how into it I will actually be.

We’ve also made a start on the nursery. Not bothering buying a crib or wardrobe, but have given a fresh coat of paint and have put up a chest of drawers so we’ve at least got storage for the million clothes my mum keeps insisting on buying.

Mycrazylife85 · 04/10/2020 20:24

Oh ladies I hear you. I'm 30 weeks today and so far am about 10lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy normal weight but I feel about 10 stone heavier. We have made it on holiday and we stopped every hour for a stretch the legs and a wee. It was okay and helped my sciatica. I don't leave the house without my support belt now. That being said we walked too far yesterday and I could tell you why part of my body hurt the most. It was dreadful. We stopped for a sit down and I cried. A silent tears only cry but my husband still saw and shielded me from all the walkers passing by. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Today we have rested. Perfect.

I have no idea where I'll fit 10 weeks of baby growing. No idea!

Smiling89 · 05/10/2020 07:00

29 weeks today! I've been all relaxed and not panicked at all about childbirth, but it all kind of dawned on me last night that it's so soon! 8 weeks of work left (a lot of that part time as I had a lot of holiday to use up). Can finally feel the baby move on a regular basis (anterior placenta). Still got to get lots of baby clothes, and everyday stuff like nappies etc. Finally getting round to thinking about a hospital bag. Seems so real all of a sudden.

I don't want to rub it in everyone else's faces as I know some of you are suffering, but does anyone else feel great being pregnant? My thyroid levels have gone up (always have sat low), the arthritis in my feet had gone and I feel so much more energetic. Stepped in the scales this morning and I've lost 13lbs since 5 weeks without trying at all (I am overweight and needed to lose it). The baby is fine so far (hitting 50% on all measurements), hopefully this will continue at my growth scans (fingers crossed).

I hope everyone who is feeling rough gets time to relax and has someone to help them get through it x

Katbaby · 05/10/2020 07:23

Morning girls 😊 28 weeks today finally in the third trimester!

Been having a lot of dreams about having a premie baby which is stressful. Wonder if it's a sign that I'm gonna be 2 weeks overdue 🤣

Feeling pretty good weight gain is starting to slow down as I can already tell I get full so much quicker so can only eat small portions now! Have gained 14 pounds since pre pregnancy which I think is pretty normal as my weight was at the lower end of healthy bmi was around 18 before.

Growth scan on Friday 🤞🤞can't wait to see little one again!

@Smiling89 I also have arthritis which has gone dormant in pregnancy! The rheumatologist said its usually the case which is a nice side effect of being pregnant 😊😊 do you have to have extra scans too? They said it's because of the rheumatoid arthritis that I need growth scans due to the chance of a smaller baby?

Hope you girls are doing okay! Nice to hear from you again @Nic2908 sorry to hear you are struggling. It will all be worth it when we get our little babies!❤️

Smiling89 · 05/10/2020 08:20

@Katbaby extra scans for arthritis and being overweight.

Hopefully he'll stay on the 50 percentile and not drop lower. Not sure if the arthritis has affected growth or not, eagerly awaiting the next scan to make sure he's still ok. My partner is 6ft 3 and I'm 5ft 10 so 50% is probably a bit on the lower side for us, or he could just naturally be on the 50 percentile. DP didn't really shoot up until he hit 16. As long as he's healthy!

Nic2908 · 05/10/2020 11:23

Its so lovely to hear all these little updates. I can't believe its the final trimester. Does anyone else feel its gone so fast? I feel like I only found out I was pregnant a week ago. @Natt99 how are you getting on?

@Katbaby and @Natt99 were all on the same TTC group. It was a very lucky thread!!

Katbaby · 05/10/2020 11:39

@Nic2908 it was a super lucky thread! Crazy we are on the home stretch now!!

Bumble84 · 05/10/2020 14:17

@Katbaby @Smiling89 that’s great that arthritis has calmed down since being pregnant! A really good side effect.

I’ve put on over a stone in weight 😬 at 29weeks. I’m within normal range though so not stressing too much, I just crave sweeties like haribo and wine gums and I’d honestly never have touched them pre pregnancy, really strange. I’m hoping to breastfeed and they say that burns calories right?!? Haha.

I’m also firmly in the camp of ‘oh my god this is happening’ now. Our nursery furniture arrived and I can’t wait to build the drawers so that we have somewhere to put the clothes. Are you guys building the cot before birth? A lot of people say it’s bad luck but and I’m generally not superstitious but I feel odd about it for some reason. My husband said it would give him something to do if he gets kicked out the hospital before me and baby get discharged and we’re not using it for the first while anyway.

@Nic2908 the first 13 weeks dragged for me but since then it’s just went so fast and I think the next few months will as well. All the Christmas stuff is in the shops now and I just keep thinking, that’s when my baby will be here 😄😄

Katbaby · 05/10/2020 14:27

@Bumble84 it does go slow for the first 13/14 weeks I think! My nursery furniture is coming next week and I am gonna build it cos I want to see the room all done! Haven't heard superstitions about cot building before, only the one about keeping the pram in the house so it's going to my mums haha

loobeelou · 05/10/2020 14:51

The last 28 weeks have gone slow for me, I feel like I've been pregnant forever 😂 I'm hoping that the hype of Halloween and Christmas will make the next 12-14 weeks go faster. But I am expecting to go over as DS was 10 days late.

With DS, we built his bedroom furniture before he arrived, it was good job we did because the base panel for the cot was missing.
We didn't use the cot though until he was 6 months old and had outgrown the next 2 me.

calipoppy · 05/10/2020 16:26

We built our nursery furniture yesterday! I didn't even know it was bad luck, whoops! I'm glad we did though as it makes it easier to plan other bits and bobs to buy now the room is starting to take shape!

I've also or on loads of weight, not exactly sure of my starting weight but i think around 14kg already!! I don't even feel like I look much bigger except my bump so maybe I have a heavy baby 😅

I'm also really starting to notice how full I get so quickly and for so long as well so maybe some of that weight will go now haha. Also we have an attic conversion which I use as my office and man alive climbing the stairs is getting hard!!

Yellowbeansontoast · 06/10/2020 06:32

Love reading everyone's updates! 30 weeks yesterday and it feels like ages to go still (although I'm sure it'll fly by). I've been put back on furlough for this month as my risk assessment doesn't support me working but they don't want to pay me if suspended Hmm, so got lots of time to sort things. Has anyone started washing baby stuff? Keep going back and forth whether it's too early.

Also, does anyone know whether our partners have to start their 2 weeks paternity as soon as baby is born? My partner is due to work nights over Christmas, which we'd like to avoid, but if baby is even 4 days too early his pat leave won't cover it and he'll have to go back Confused

@loobeelou about the itching - I had this really badly everywhere but seems to have improved lots since midwife gave me iron tablets! Maybe get your iron checked? Could be the same thing for you :)

Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Seeing all the Christmas stuff coming out is definitely making me very excited for little one to come Smile

MaverickDanger · 06/10/2020 08:50

@Yellowbeansontoast he doesn’t need to take it straight away, but as long as it is finished 56 days after the baby is born (very specific!)

Has he given them a specific start date or a more general timeframe, ie when the baby is born? I think he needs to give them 28 days notice if he wants to change the start date.

Haven’t started washing baby stuff yet, have sorted a lot of stuff though with putting it into size piles!

We start hypnobirthing this week and I’m weirdly nervous!
