Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

I use the Ovia app and today at 24+4 it’s said my uterus is the size of a soccer ball!! Yeah was just moaning to my hubby last night that I was looking a bit fat but I feel better now I have that info 🤣😂🤣

december2020 · 06/09/2020 13:29

That's wonderful news @ew1990 🥰💖

Is anyone doing any exercise?
I'm trying to do at least 2-3 sessions of (light) weight training as well as lots of walks (not for weight loss but just to try stay fit).
There seems so much contradicting do's and don'ts on exercise - it's hard to sift through it all to find where the balance really is.

Belly is starting to feel really big and tight lately!

MrsSmith2020 · 06/09/2020 13:32

Anyone else getting really weird heat rash!?
I only seem to get it when I come out of the shower and it's always on my shoulders and back!!?

@december2020 I'm trying to do very long country walks every other day. Wipes me and the dogs out!
Occasionally a few bicep curls whilst I can be bothered!!

Katbaby · 06/09/2020 13:34

Congrats @ew1990 so happy for you ☺️❤️

@december2020 I'm trying to do 1-2 circuit style workouts, 2-3 pilates a week, and a dog walk everyday. Struggled a bit with tiredness this week so not done as much as I'd like, but I'm off work for 2 weeks now so looking to focus on myself a bit more.

I'm a little concerned about how much sweet stuff I eat though, I have some form of chocolate /sweet item once a day, I'm eating healthy home cooked meals 5 out of 7 nights, and trying not to snack so much but I had a real sweet tooth before pregnancy and definitley more so now!

Katbaby · 06/09/2020 13:35

What's everyone's diets like?

december2020 · 06/09/2020 13:55

I'm finding the exercise and daily walks definitely make my body feel a lot better so hoping to keep them up until D-Day.

@Katbaby Oh god my diet is definitely a roller coaster. There are days I'm craving pure 'health food' (things like eggs, yoghurt, salads, lean protein and veg, porridge, granola) and some days when I just want tonnes of sour candy and chocolate. I actually bought my first box of coco pops in over a decade (or potentially even two decades) the other week!!

The baby has definitely inherited my husband's sweet tooth (I'm blaming them both for the sudden chocolate need)!

Nic2908 · 06/09/2020 14:09

@Katbaby my diet has consumed of cards and sugar.... horrific I know but that's just the reality. I finish work in 10 days (due to covid and third trimester) and so I plan on making my third trimester finding a healthier version of myself. If anyone has any good you tube pregnancy work out videos I would appreciate it.

Bumble84 · 06/09/2020 14:15

@december2020 I’m sticking to regular walks and I also do a body fit by Amy ‘workout’ a couple of times a week. It’s pretty gentle as it’s prenatal stuff. I want to keep up exercise from a purely fitness point of view as well and also I’ve heard it can make you less likely to have complications during labour. Although I’ll be honest some days I just vegetate!

@Katbaby I try to be good with my diet and I’m trying to think of it as the 80% rule, being healthy 80% of the time. I do tend to crave sweets as well, jelly beans and maoms and things which I never really would have previously. My meals are generally pretty good apart from once a week pizza so I’m trying not to overthink it. If anyone has any healthy snack suggestions right enough I’m all ears because it is definitely the snacking that gets me!

Yellowbeansontoast · 06/09/2020 18:27

@december2020 I've been going swimming 5-6 times/week since the pools re-opened, I find it does wonders for my back pain! Other than that I don't drive, so my step count always averages pretty high. Plus the occasional cycle, but that's starting to feel pretty uncomfortable lately!

@Katbaby I'm glad I'm not the only one with a sweet tooth, currently going through a major curly wurly obsession?! I never liked them before, but will have one a day! Trying to compensate with plenty shredded lettuce as that's been a craving since about 16 weeks and does not seem to be easing off Grin guess there's worse things to crave..

Marshmallow1102 · 06/09/2020 22:30

@Katbaby What pilates are you doing? Are you following online videos that you could recommend??

Katbaby · 07/09/2020 09:27

@Marshmallow1102 yes Ive been doing the bodyfit by Amy workouts and pilates,

Also keris pilates room has some good 2nd trimester flow /pilates which is a little more challenging than body fit by Amy.

I just use the search 'prenatal pilates' and try to mix it up by trying other ones as well.

I search 'prenatal strength workout' to find circuit style / dumbell workouts that I can do in the front room too!

@Yellowbeansontoast I ate nearly a full tin of custard yesterday-such a pig! 🤣🐷 Haven't had custard in years either just really fancied it. Also had a big lump of grandma's apple pie in it 😅

I am tracking my weight gain weekly myself to ensure I don't gain too quickly though, very aware of my changing body, hard to get used to

Yellowbeansontoast · 07/09/2020 11:48

@Katbaby that sounds divine!

I wish I knew how much I've put on, but no one has weighed me at any of my appointments since 12 weeks and I don't own a scale. Guess will have to ask my midwife at the next one if she doesn't offer.

How's everyone getting on with their midwives? I've found mine really stand-offish and unhelpful, whenever I've asked anything she just tells me to look it up online or gives some generic advice Confused

Katbaby · 07/09/2020 13:06

@Yellowbeansontoast I haven't even met my midwife yet! Meet her next Tuesday for my 25 week appointment. Other than that I've seen someone different or standing in each time! The couple of times I've been concerned about different things I've just had to use the general community midwife advice line!

Between 16 and 20 weeks I started to feel like I was gaining weight quite quickly, I have been tracking my weight on my scales at home since getting my bfp. But before pregnancy I was a daily weigher😳🙄 so always been quite obsessive with it. On that note gonna let my lunch go down then think I need to do a workout 🤔🤣

Katbaby · 07/09/2020 13:07

I've gained around 11lbs since starting weight and I'm 24 weeks today. Bmi was 18/19 before pregnancy

Bumble84 · 07/09/2020 15:52

I’ve gained about a stone since the beginning now. I’m 24+5. I found a recommended weight gain thing online and I’m within the normal range on that so I’m trying not to get too uptight about it. I must admit I’m not loving that their is unavoidable weight gain. It’s also hard I think because pre pregnancy if I was on holiday or had a bad few days diet wise then I would compensate by dieting the next week. Being pregnant you can’t really do that though. I’ve got issues about my weight from childhood though as well, just hoping I can do a bit of damage limitation just now and after baby is born try and get back to what is more of a normal weight for me

MaverickDanger · 07/09/2020 19:44

I’ve definitely put on a stack - about 20lbs! I’ve had issues with my pelvis from about week 15 so have gone from pretty active (walking everywhere including 4 miles to work & back three times a week) to wfh and struggling with a 10 min walk.

My BMI was 24 before but I’m way above the recommended guidelines! I might have to go on a third trimester diet 🙈

FiJen · 08/09/2020 10:20

Morning everyone! Ive been following this thread since finding out I was pregnant and cant believe we are now all almost in the third trimester. I haven't been posting much, but since a lot of us are starting buying bits and pieces for babys arrival, thought I would share my purchase this morning incase it helps anyone else out. Argos currently have a Fisher Price baby bouncer reduced from £40 to £35, but with the code BOUNCE20, it takes it down to £15, and reviews are good! Hopefully it might help a few of you out if you are looking for a bouncer. I haven't collected mine yet but will feed back when I do, and I will try post the link below with all the details!

MrsSmith2020 · 08/09/2020 11:20

Morning ladies!

Hope you're all well. 3rd trimester almost upon us! Eeeek.

We still need to buy
Travel system,
Mattresses for cot and next to me
Changing mats x2
Newborn vests
Baby toiletries
Muslins x 500,0000,00000 Wink
Breastfeeding toiletries
Baby Monitor

I need to start washing clothes and pack hospital bag sometime- when is everyone else doing there's?

How are my self employed mommas to be doing?
I'm still anxious at thought of only 9 weeks off but I have a plan for 2 days of work a week which includes family supporting me and a possible newborn nanny for 1 day a week who we know well and lives across the road.

It's so hard the thought of leaving tiny baby; but equally I have the responsibility of providing for them, and their future. I know we have to find a way to make it work. I'll only be home working, so I think I can pump in between meetings and pop to see baby downstairs during breaks etc. Feels overwhelming just thinking about being apart from them.

Hope everyone is feeling well and keeping safe.
Sleep is a thing of the past.
Also, sneezes lead to uncontrolled disco wee wees now! Anyone else have this?

Bumble84 · 08/09/2020 17:52

I wasn’t planning on packing my hospital bag till about 34/35 weeks but my husband thinks that’s too late! I just feel like at that point I’ll be wanting something to do.

Do you guys talk to your bump? I feel a bit silly doing it if I’m honest so I haven’t been. I’m not necessarily worried about bonding once baby is here I just feel daft talking to my own belly!

Nic2908 · 08/09/2020 18:23

To other mums to be that are nurses whats your trust policy on 28 weeks? I was due to finish next week and just had an email saying that guidance has changed and that the trust are revoking it. I really don't want to be patient faced this winter any help or guidance would be grately appreciated. I've looked on rcog but cannot find any change on guidance.

Amwl · 08/09/2020 19:05

@Nic2908 I'm a teacher not a healthcare worker but we're also following the RCOG. The guidance hasn't been updated since 10th August so remains that you shouldn't be patient facing.

ElsaCC · 09/09/2020 00:06

I'm planning on packing everything on or around week 30 but I've started to put things to the side so I know what to take. Also already have a list of what to pack 🤭 I do love my lists!!

Has everyone received their mat b1 form? I had a phone appointment with my midwife in the end of August and she said she would send it but I'm still waiting

Katbaby · 09/09/2020 08:10

Morning girls

@Bumble84 I'm the same with not talking to bump, does seem weird. I sometimes will try to coax movement when hubby is around by talking to it or getting hubby to talk to it but I won't do it on my own. It hears me talking to the dog so it hears my voice enough haha 🤣🤣

@ElsaCC I'm thinking of starting a hospital bag around 30 weeks too, but I'm planning on using one of my cases when I go for a spa night beginning of November so will need one free. Thinking one travel case for baby things and one case for me.

Getting a pregnancy massage today, REALLLY looking forward to it, starting to get niggling lower back pain and hoping it helps!

Buzzing that reached the 24 week viability milestone on Monday 🥰

calipoppy · 09/09/2020 08:48

Ooh thanks @FiJen that's actually one of the bouncers I was thinking about getting, 15 what a bargain!

I feel so far behind everyone on hospital bag prep 😂 I defo need to start planning what I need! Just got first baby clothes delivered yesterday though which was so exciting. I can't believe how small they are! 🥰

Katbaby · 09/09/2020 15:05

Just to jump in again, I had my mum to be massage today😊, highly recommend you girls treating yourselves!!
