Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

Morning ladies 😁

Typical on a work day I can't wake up but on a bank holiday I'm wide awake at 7!

@Rnic1x we are going to Chester for a babymoon on the 11th September, I love the designer outlet at Cheshire oaks too! In a normal world I would have had a foreign baby moon with lots of bump bikini pics but it's not meant to be this year.

Ahh congratulations @djmbaker!! Hope to see some pics from that 🎊 I don't know what you mean about lots of tests on a pic, I definitely didn't do many.... 🙄🙄🙄🤣 I did 10 in total actually I still have them all in a drawer, is that weird? Like I'm hoarding little piss sticks hahahaha.

Baby is going mad this morning, Im loving all the movements, Ive either got a ballerina or a footballer in there I'm sure!

My gran has been knitting me loads of cardies and she's currently on with a blanket, I absolutely love homemade stuff just makes it so special

Rnic1x · 31/08/2020 07:39

Aww I'm glad other people are going away makes me feel less bad. I think I'll book it for next month ❤️

@djmbaker have I started buying things? I think I've finished 🙈 I've gone so OTT it's unreal but it's our first so what the hell. I've got everything I think now and his room is being decorated tomorrow so nursery will be set up this week. I can't help myself buying clothes I'm just ordering so much oops, I am getting bigger sizes too though.

@Katbaby I love Cheshire oaks, we were there a few weeks ago and I ended up getting loads of great bargains xx

Aaaaah congrats @djmbaker !! What amazing news!!! That's so exciting!

I'm wondering what else I can purge and throw out. At this rate I'll have chucked out all my stuff 😬!

We had the neighbours round yesterday for some food and drinks, it's a bit surreal as before pregnancy I used to always join in with a drink (and I guess be a bit shy without it in bigger groups or with people I don't know too well) and now joining in with alcohol free beer or whatever booze free drink, I don't feel as shy anymore and I get to avoid the woolly head in the morning!

Katbaby · 31/08/2020 08:00

@Rnic1x I've been buying clothes non stop too 🤣 I'm gonna have to go through everything soon.

Are people thinking of buying a specific washing detergent to wash the babies clothes in or just using their own? I'm thinking of only washing half the stuff I've bought in case it comes out big and I can't get it in all the newborn stuff and I can leave labels on and sell it on or exchange.

Rnic1x · 31/08/2020 08:11

@Katbaby I use fairy anyway so just sticking to that. I'm having a scan in 2 weeks then another 3 weeks after so I'm hoping to gage how small or big he is by then so I can decide how much to wash 🙈 xx

Love Cheshire Oakes! Good idea about going there. I have been given so many baby clothes from clients on top of the load I've bought that Jordan has said I can't buy anymore 😩 my SIL has bought loads too so I think I'll just focus on the nursery for now.. as that is still a tip!!! My MIL is organising a decorator though so I have delegated that job to her..

Anyone having a baby shower??? I am but I am finding it hard to shorten my list down.. I have a list of 50 women right now 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ mixture of clients, friends and family.. I'm going to have to be quite brutal I think 😂😂

I've read on a Facebook group that fairy is the best really as it's the most sensitive and we use that already so will stick to that! and yes @Katbaby I still have all of my tests as well.. some of my digi ones went blank though sadly

Bumble84 · 31/08/2020 08:45

@djmbaker congrats on the wedding news!! Where abouts in Scotland are you going? I live in Scotland so if it’s somewhere I know I could give you some tips!

We’re another one that are going away for a babymoon to a self catering lodge. It’ll be nice to get a change of scenery. I’d also have loved to be going abroad but I’m just not comfortable with that level of risk.

LoveSunshine01 · 31/08/2020 09:16

@djmbaker Congrats on the wedding news, that sounds like a gorgeous plan!

We went away to Italy to visit my husband's family a few weeks ago - we hadn't seen them for a year so it was very much needed and for us it was important to keep them involved in the baby process - visiting when pregnant with a bump for them to see really helped that. The travel didn't feel very high risk as we were doing it, but I totally totally understand people not wanting to fly, pregnant or not!

I think for our baby moon we'll stick to UK as well, apart from any thing else it is FAR less tiring. The whole trip was exhausting for me! Still trying to work out where to go though.

calipoppy · 31/08/2020 11:00

Aw congrats @djmbaker that is so exciting and sounds so lovely!!

We aren't doing a holiday but doing one night at our wedding venue in a couple of weeks when it's our 1st anniversary so I'm really excited for that 😊

I've so far bought a sheet for the Moses basket and a cot mattress haha! But have a list of all the big things we're getting so just need to get ordering now. Clothes I haven't started on but thinking I might not get loads as I think we'll have a lot gifted to us from family especially being a Christmas baby!

Can't believe I'm 25 weeks today, we are so close to 3rd trimester now!! 🙈

djmbaker · 31/08/2020 14:01

@Bumble84 we usually go to the west coast to be honest but it's a bit far for 4/5 nights isn't it so we are just going to Fonab Castle in Pitlochry 💕 can't wait.

@calipoppy that's what I'm thinking regarding clothes... I've just bought the basics like baby grows etc and I think I'll get quite a bit.

It's mad how close the 3rd trimester is... my pregnancy app said this morning "morning Dom.. only 16 weeks and 4 days to go until your due date" not going to lie I did panic a little!! 16 weeks doesn't sound long at all 😬

makingababy · 01/09/2020 12:52

Awww congrats @djmbaker that’s a lovely plan!

Helski123 · 01/09/2020 18:02

Just been catching up on everyone's news. Huge congrats @djmbaker!

I've had a hectic couple of weeks with work. Then this weekend have visited my family (they live about 3 hours away) and my sister filled my car with maternity clothes and baby stuff. I had a moment where I started feeling overwhelmed by it all, as if the reality was starting to kick in, rather than just thinking that at some point in the future we'd have a baby. Been unloading it all into the baby's room today and feeling calmer again.

Then off to Ireland next weekend to see my OHs family. Excited to have a weekend away and it's only a short flight.

Can't believe how much of a bump I have now, feel like i'm going to be enormous by the time my due date comes along!

Marshmallow1102 · 01/09/2020 18:46

Congrats @djmbaker, that sounds so wonderful, I hope you have a lovely wedding! 😊

I had my 25 week appointment today and heard baby's heartbeat for the first time! It was quite uneventful other than that, I go back in two weeks for my next appointment when they'll start measuring me! I'm being referred for physio too, which I'm hoping will help with the pain in my hips and lower back!

Katbaby · 03/09/2020 02:41

Any one suffering from heartburn!?

I know it's because I had a meal out for tea which was heavy and fairly spicy so I knowwwww its self inflicted and yet I still feel sorry for myself, only got to sleep at 11 then woke up around 5/6 times until I've finally given up and I'm now sat up playing on my phone.

Gonna be a zombie at work tomorrow.... Send help /advice 😩

MrsSmith2020 · 03/09/2020 04:22

@Katbaby I am the same tonight - it's horrid!

I slept 12-1 then awake an hour and fell asleep. Now I'm up again.

Will ask midwife for heartburn remedies tomorrow.

Pregnancy is so glam 😆

Katbaby · 03/09/2020 07:50

@MrsSmith2020 finally went back to sleep around 4. 30/5 until alarm went off at half 6 😑😑😑

Still in pain this morning, I'm really suffering for eating out last night! I've learnt my lesson. Need to stop eating before I get so full!!

It's the worst, hoping the old wives tale is true that it means Ive got a baby with a full head of hair ❤️😍

viixie · 03/09/2020 09:23

@Katbaby I have terrible heartburn too. I have ended up sleeping on three pillows with a teddy on top of that so I'm basically upright 🤢 it's so awful

ceebee21 · 03/09/2020 09:45

Hi all,

just trying to catch up on the thread - I feel so far behind haha

I have started buying bits of clothing, but nothing major... I keep putting it off thinking we still have ages! We have lots of knitted baby clothes / blankets being made, plus my sister has kept all of my nieces clothes so lots to go through!

I have almost emptied her room, ready for it to be decorated in a couple of weeks, so that is a start I guess.

Almost 24 weeks now - still feels like ages away

ElsaCC · 03/09/2020 10:51

@Katbaby probably a little too late but I think cold plain milk is meant to help if you drink it slowly.

Is anyone suffering from leg cramps? I'm having them every night without fail for about 2 weeks now and its horrid! Wake up in pain every night 😔

calipoppy · 03/09/2020 13:13

@ElsaCC I've had them a couple of times, hurts so much doesn't it! 😣 I might be making this up but I've noticed it happens more when I've had less water/saltier food so I'm trying to make sure I drink plenty of water in the evening (I still wake up but at least just need the loo instead of cramps!!)

Helski123 · 03/09/2020 16:47

@ElsaCC I've been getting leg cramps from around 15 weeks. I now wake up as they are just starting and able to stretch my calves before they get too bad. Haven't worked out what triggers them for me. Can go a few nights fine then they come back again. It's horrible!

ElsaCC · 04/09/2020 00:36

@calipoppy it happens no matter how much water I drink during the day. The midwife say I might have a condition with a very long name that I don't recall and will check my bloods next time I have a face 2 face appointment but that isn't until the 1st of October.
I'm going yo reduce my work hours from this months and hopefully that'll help as I spend far too long on my feet.
Has anyone started to think about their birth plan?

makingababy · 04/09/2020 14:07

@ElsaCC I’ve had some leg cramps at night but not very often. Sorry they’re so bad for you! I’ve read that it might be linked to needing more potassium, calcium and magnesium
Re: birth plan, not thought about it in detail yet. I think I want to try to go fairly natural and use the birthing suite with bath etc., but really I think I’m just going to try to go with the flow. I can also completely understand the draw of a planned section though.

ew1990 · 04/09/2020 17:05

Not read the thread but just another update from me. 13 weeks now and a lovely 12 week scan! So relieved.

Hope all you ladies are doing well. Not too long for youse lot now? About 3 months? X

Marshmallow1102 · 05/09/2020 08:46

So, so happy for you @ew1990, that's wonderful news!
Yes I'm 26 weeks today so just over 3 months to go! You'll be amazed at how quickly it all goes!! Feels just just yesterday that I was testing for the first time and now I've got a big old bump!

I've just gone to visit my mum and sister for the first time since before lockdown started so they've not seen me at all throughout my pregnancy so far, I walked in the room and they both went "😦 You're enormous!" 😂
