Seen as though it's nearly full... I've started thread 4. I wonder how many threads we get up to ❤️

20 week scan went so well. So proud of my little boy growing health and strong. However yet again when it came to his photographs he was super shy and so they are super blurry again. Going to book in for a 4d scan for around 28 weeks I think. How is everyone feeling??

Helski123 · 29/07/2020 20:14

Had my 20 week scan today too. Baby is looking good! Kept putting it's hands over it's face though so need to go back next week so she can scan the lips. Good excuse for another scan!

Also found out I have an anterior placenta, which explains why I have felt absolutely no movements so far. Anyone else have an anterior placenta?

Whitter · 29/07/2020 21:14

Hiya @Helski123 - I had my 20 week scan on Monday and found out that I too have an anterior placenta. I am convinced I have had flutterings but now I am not sure after hearing it will take longer to feel movements. The midwives and Tommy's website have said though that if you don't feel anything by the time you're 24 weeks then to let the midwifes know so I'm thinking of going by that - what do you think? Smile

december2020 · 29/07/2020 21:23

Loving the scan @djmbaker pure brilliance!

My scan is only next week, so impatiently waiting to know everything is ok.

So glad everyone's scans have gone well 😍 can't believe how far we have come!

I've been busy trying to pick out paints, flooring and interior doors (while working full time), we went to a tradesmen depot this morning at 8am before work. Then it's more decluttering this weekend. Definitely living the rock and roll lifestyle now... 🤟

Rnic1x · 29/07/2020 21:47

So for the first time I think being pregnant I've had an absolute hormonal breakdown tonight. My partner had annoyed me for no reason really then asked if I wanted a rice crispy cake and I burst out crying 😂 I'm sure he thought I was mental... I've had other things on my mind today so I think I was due a big cry but just so happened to be it was the crispy cake that tipped me over 🙈 bed movie and early night for me (on my own as I NEEEEEEED to sleep and dp snores and wakes me up loads, I'm hoping he gets in the spare bed 😂)

Tomorrow's a new day eh 🙈 on a brighter note I'm feeling my little man kick so much and it's amazing 💙💙💙

Hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

@Whitter I haven’t felt any movements yet at all either. It is starting to worry me a little bit trying not to overthink it and maybe I am getting movement but I just can’t recognise it as such. I’ve my 20w scan on Tuesday so just counting the days till then but definitely suffering from scanxiety!

Whitter · 29/07/2020 22:09

@Bumble84 awhhh I know how scanxiety feels but I always think that even if they found something then I am in the best place to get the best care for the baby and they've caught it early so try not to let your mind go into over drive Smile if you are worried about not feeling anything yet then I would really recommend letting the midwifes know after your scan as they are really good at reassuring you that it's normal and tell you what to expect as well as give you a leaflet on movements. I found it really reassuring when I spoke to them plus the fact that my baby girl, during the scan, wouldn't stop wriggling around to the point where they couldn't complete the scan so having to go back so they can complete their checks! Grin

Bumble84 · 29/07/2020 22:27

Yeah, I’m definitely going to mention it on Tuesday if I still haven’t felt anything. I was also thinking that it might be because of an anterior placenta but I’ll find out on Tuesday about that as well.

Helski123 · 29/07/2020 22:49

@Whitter from what I've read it seems really variable when we could start feeling things. Some people say 17/18 weeks so I certainly wouldn't dismiss what you've been feeling so far. Chatting to my sister earlier and she didn't feel her third baby until 24 weeks with an anterior placenta. Main thing is that baby looks good on the scan. And my belly is definitely growing so I know baby is growing too!

Helski123 · 29/07/2020 22:52

@Bumble84 I was starting to worry a bit too, definitely felt reassured after my scan. It can be completely normal not to feel movements yet anyway even without an anterior placenta. Not long until next Tuesday!

emmalily9 · 29/07/2020 22:58

Exciting that everyone's having their 20 weeks now! I had mine on Monday. Unfortunately I'm just in PAU awaiting blood test results and probably anti d injection. She did kick the midwife when she put the Doppler on though 🙈 feel sorry for my husband who's stuck in the car park though

Marshmallow1102 · 30/07/2020 09:11

I first felt movement at 18+3, but it was super subtle and I wasn't even sure that it was baby, I think I only felt it because I was smooshed against the mattress so baby probably didn't have much room. My placenta is posterior, so ideally placed for me to feel movement and even then I don't feel baby very frequently yet! Think because they are just so tiny, but definitely easier to spot in the evening when I'm lying down doing nothing and they are more likely to move when we're playing music to bump (don't know if they are dancing or turning their back on our terrible taste 😂)

I'm sure you will all start to feel movement soon if you haven't already, like we keep reading everywhere 'every pregnancy is different', and there are so many things that affect when you first feel baby!

djmbaker · 30/07/2020 10:07

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and I get occasional flutters and almost like bubbles... they are sooo faint I have to really concentrate on them. Usually in the evening is best .. whenever I've had a scan she is moving all around so I'm guessing it's just a case of she's too small for me to feel it right now?? My 20 week scan is a week on Monday so not long now!

Anyone else still get exhausted??? I get so tired so quickly. 😩 xx

Marshmallow1102 · 30/07/2020 10:18

@djmbaker Yes, I'm permanently exhausted, I now work from the bed in the guest room so I'm pretty much always lying down 😂! I have accepted that tired and achy is my new normal! Dread to think how bad I'm going to be come third trimester!

djmbaker · 30/07/2020 10:32

@Marshmallow1102 that's a relief! I keep reading "second trimester you will have so much energy" I'm still bloody waiting 😂😂😂 I permanently feel hungover!

However.. I think I've found the pram I want!! Just got to convince my partner now to buy it 😂😂🙏🏻

LoveSunshine01 · 30/07/2020 11:29

For prams we massively lucked out and found an uppababy cruz on freecycle! We had to buy new wheels (£80) and will have to buy a new seat for it when they grow out of the bassinet as it is clearly used (I think £60?), but all in all very happy! I was amazed at all the different parts we could buy - makes it a much more appealing option to be green and get it second hand.

We also got the matching carseat in the free bundle but still undecided on whether we will use that or get a new one.

TheLastDynasty · 30/07/2020 11:30

@Helski123 I had my 20 week scan today and have an anterior placenta :)

Tink679 · 30/07/2020 11:33

Congratulations on the genders and beautiful scans!

I also have an anterior placenta, I have felt movement but they seem to be low down (he was also lying face down when we went for a scan so all limbs were facing down). I’m the same though, questioning if it’s actual movement or just digestion 😂

I think my hormones have been in full swing these past few days, I go from super proactive to feeling very emotional and then feel tense and snappy at really small things! It’s driving me a little crazy! Anyone else?

djmbaker · 30/07/2020 13:46

Just wanted to quickly show you this... i paid £6 for this dress in the boohoo sale! And it's fab. It's a little snug I probably should have gone up a size but for £6!!! It's a bargain. I've had a few bits of their maternity range and they are all lovely! If anyone doesn't want to spend a fortune on maternity like me, I'd definitely recommend it x

Yellowbeansontoast · 30/07/2020 19:25

@Helski123 I had an anterior placenta written on my 12wk scan (at 13+4), but at my 20wk today she said it was high posterior! I have been feeling movement since about 16 weeks and proper kicks for the last 2wks, so I was a bit confused. Makes a lot more sense now - wonder whether it moved (is that even possible??) or the first sonographer just got it wrong?

Everything looking great at our scan, too - such a relief. Congratulations to everyone who's had theirs and good luck to those still waiting!

Marshmallow1102 · 31/07/2020 09:20

@Yellowbeansontoast During my scan the sonographer said "Your placenta is posterior today", I joked and said "Today... Does that mean it moves?!" and she turned to look at me like I was an idiot and said "Placentas don't move, they migrate!" ...No idea what it means, but that sure told me! 😂

viixie · 31/07/2020 11:52

Had my 20 week scan this morning and all looked good Smile relieved

LoveSunshine01 · 31/07/2020 12:44

Hi - I had my 20 week today too! It's a boy! 💙

Every time I come out of a scan I'm so emotional I end up crying my eyes out - not cos I'm sad, just it's all a bit much! Please tell me I'm not the only one?! Today I looked like a right loon in the hospital car park sitting in my car crying, laughing and scoffing a dairy milk 😂

PocoyoandEllie · 31/07/2020 12:49

I had my 20 week scan today but baby was on his tummy the whole time 😩 so have to go back in 2 weeks so they can try and scan heart, feet and lips. Everything else she managaed

Tink679 · 31/07/2020 13:43

Congrats all on your scans today!

@viixie beautiful pic. I’m guessing you didn’t find out the sex?

@LoveSunshine01 😂 I can so relate and my outbursts aren’t even at the emotional things! Hope the dairy milk helped 🤣

@PocoyoandEllie aww that’s annoying but cute, great excuse for more scans though

I’ve finally pulled myself together today and looking forward to a few days away by the sea, It’s definitely my calm place so hopefully help settle my raging hormones. Not quite sure how I feel about this heat though 🥵
