@FlashesOfRage thank you! My feet were back to normal by this morning thank god, I have to go to my GP this week for my whooping cough vaccine so will get my BP checked again, it was checked last week and was 110/60 so I hope it's just that I wore slightly too tight shoes?!
Ah that’s great that you’re going in anyway 👌 Sounds like it may be nowt then, fingers crossed xxx

I had my whooping cough vaccine today. Does anyone know if we should be getting our partners to get it too??? I feel like I read that somewhere 🤔

Missworry92 · 20/07/2020 23:26

On my pregnancy app today it said that swelling in the feet might start this week and that salt intake contributes to it so best to avoid salty foods 😊

Sweetpea1985 · 21/07/2020 00:02

Should I be worrying? I have no idea if this is pregnancy related (it's probably not) but I've got a pain in my collarbone/top of arm/shoulder paracetamol isn't shifting it??

wannabebump · 21/07/2020 04:45

@Sweetpea1985 have you twisted/slept at a funny angle?

I'm almost 24 weeks and at my last midwife appointment at 22 weeks I said to her I was struggling with my hips/thighs being sore during the night which I put down to sleeping my sides all the time as I'm a natural back sleeper. The pain is killing me, it could easily reduce me to tears during the night. I've googled restless legs etc but it's not the same sensation (described as ants crawling). It's a real ache, like muscle/bone. I'm already using a pregnancy pillow. Midwife said that's just how it is and wasn't concerned at all. I'm not sure what the point in posting is, but it's almost 5am and I'm still awake and needed to vent! 😭 xx

No advice, just sympathy as I am awake with exactly the same. It's always my 'top' leg that gets so sore it wakes me up. Then it hurts too much to swap sides and if I do the other just gets sore too. It's so frustrating.

My left ear also gets really sore from sleeping on my side. I could cry!

MeandSpud · 21/07/2020 07:58

@wannabebump and @Rolly123 - same! I've had this since 13 weeks. Every night is awful - to the point I don't bother going to bed much before midnight, because I dread it so much- but last night it was even worse than usual. I woke up at 2.30am and then had to turn over every half an hour or so and I whimpered like an injured animal every time! Mine's mostly PGP related though. I find it so frustrating that whenever I search for things that might help all I find is advice to use a pregnancy pillow between knees/legs/ankles - usually this makes no difference for me and some nights it actually seems to make it 10 times worse! :( I'm so tired today but without even being able to think 'I can't wait until bedtime'!

Addler · 21/07/2020 08:03

That sounds really awful!

My physio said to use 5000 pillows to help sleep, and to put them in places people don't normally think. So one under your hip, a thin one under your bump, two between your legs, one under your shoulder. Basically as many as you need to help cushion you. She also said if it's really bad you can put some thick pillows behind you or in front of you and lie half on your back or half on your front so you're at an angle rather than directly on your side, taking the pressure off.

Danniijm10 · 21/07/2020 08:35

Hi ladies im 23 weeks with my 4th and i feel ready to pop. Im waddling my spd is bad and I'm starting to get tired again. And I'm trying hard to cut the rubbish in my diet im scared I won't fit in my wedding dress in June after having to postpone this year and being the lightest I've been for ages due to keep having kids all my hard works being undone with another child 🙈 soon as she's out im back on it i can't bare to look back at my wedsing photos a mess like i have been 2 times I was a bridemaids 6/7 weeks after giving birth

MoreGinPlease2020 · 21/07/2020 08:40

@Danniijm10 Maybe we can motivate each other? I also have to slim back into my wedding dress as my rescheduled wedding is early May and I'm terrified that I'll be the size of a house by November!

Danniijm10 · 21/07/2020 08:47

Oh that sound good whens ur wedding now. I moved mine from June 20th my 10 year anniversary so I'm gutted it didn't happen and now its the 19th june day b4 we would have been engaged for 10 years and together 11. So I geuss its still important just I wanted to keep the date the same I may still go by the 20th being our 1st wedding anniversary etc. I'll have had my dress 2 and a half years b4 i get to finally wear it what a joke 😅.

I was doing well with no appetite at beginning of my pregnancy im 5 ft 10 and I was 11 stone 7 but im already 12 stone 4 ish. Because I've been craving crisps and quick meals as I dont fancy much by the time dinner comes.
I've cut back to having salads for my lunch rather than bread and im trying to avoid having bfast again which isn't working this week so switched back to wholemeal bread for my toast.
I've done slimming World for my last 2 pregnancys and then I switched to wait watchers but now I just use what I no to cut back and hope I can do it on my own. Because of my spd walking im no runner lol is not really a option because I hurt so much after a few mins I have a bike but that kills me even when I'm not pregnant lol. So I mainly rely on weight loss from my diet.

MoreGinPlease2020 · 21/07/2020 08:58

@Danniijm10 You've had your dress 2 and a half years - wow!

My wedding was 24th May and is now 2nd May. We had to rebook a bank holiday but the late May bank holiday next year is right at the end of May and I didn't want to wait "over" a year if that makes sense?

I think I'm eating okay (my appetite has definitely reduced since the first trimester) but baby has had a huge growth spurt this weekend so I feel enormous. I try to cycle several times a week but had quite a lot of pain when I went out last week, so I'm going to try again this morning so I can mention it to my midwife tomorrow at my 25 week appointment if it happens again.

Danniijm10 · 21/07/2020 09:02

Is it ur first? Do you no what your having? I dont see my midwife till 28 weeks and havent seen her since 16 weeks when u have ur first u have 2 more appointments than u do in any other pregnancy provided everything goes ok. Bikes hurt my bum and with the spd at the front it makes a uncomfortable ride lol

MoreGinPlease2020 · 21/07/2020 09:32

@Danniijm10 As long as the sonographer got it right, we're having a girl. Yes it's my first, so it's all a bit daunting.

I'm used to the saddle / bum soreness, but cycling over bumps seems to tweak things in my stomach so I'm hoping I don't have to give it up... Otherwise I'll need to be much more strict diet wise. 😂

wannabebump · 21/07/2020 09:34

@Rolly123 oh my god, I forgot about how sore my ear is too! The legs are distracting me from it!
If I put anymore pillows in the bed the DH won't get in 😅 I've sat bolt upright last night for most of the night that's allowed me to nod off a bit but that's defo not sustainable.

Without sounding horrible...it's nice to hear I'm not alone x

@wannabebump haha, yes sometimes knowing you aren't alone in feeling awful does actually help a little bit! It's so annoying that it wakes me up around 4.30-5 every morning at the moment and it's not even because I need to go to the toilet or anything!

Oh and then you try to stretch out a bit and you get cramp in your calves. It's just excellent. I might go and sleep in the spare room tonight so I can try and be a bit more upright. My poor husband is a light sleeper so I feel awful disrupting him all the time too.

bokchoy · 21/07/2020 10:15

I have had hip pain the last 4 days. It's absolutely awful and starts around 6am. I hate mornings and generally waking up in the morning so I try and "sleep through the pain". It doesn't really work but I feel better knowing my eyes are still closed for 2 more hours. Once I wake up the pain stops so it seems to be only for those couple of hours. Although today it's lingering abit as I still feel it in my right leg

Wigglebum87 · 21/07/2020 10:37

We have a couple of throws we no longer use and I have put them under the mattress protector on my side of the bed to make it a bit softer, this seems to have helped a bit

MrsR87 · 21/07/2020 14:18

Just catching up on the thread...no pain in my
sides yet but I am finding my previously comfortably pillow now uncomfortable.

On a separate note, I am going to put my hospital bag together over the next few weeks. I have a list of what needs to go on for me, baby and husband but does anyone have any recommendations as to what kind of bag to use? I’m going to have to buy something as I only have suitcases, so I may as well get something that’s going to work well! Thanks.

HarrietM87 · 21/07/2020 15:06

@MrsR87 I used my hand luggage size suitcase and DH had his own backpack for his stuff and a few extra snacks. I also packed a separate hold-all type bag that I left at home for DH to get if I ended up staying in longer than a night or two.

My advice is to try not to take too much because you can always get your DH to get more stuff and the more you have the harder it will be to find what you need quickly!

Wigglebum87 · 21/07/2020 15:14

When do I need to start packing a hospital bag?

MrsR87 · 21/07/2020 15:33

Thanks @HarrietM87

@Wigglebum87 the advice says at least 2 weeks before your due date so there’s no rush. It’s just I’m off work from tomorrow for 6 weeks (teacher) so want to get the easier jobs underway as it’s gonna be chaos in September! 😂

Wigglebum87 · 21/07/2020 15:37

@MrsR87 thanks. I might start to pick bits up, I'm still furloughed, looking likely to be back in September for a month before I finish. I need something to show for the last 4 months of being off Blush

FudgeFlies · 21/07/2020 16:34

The hip/side pain sounds so painful! I feel for you all that suffer with it!

Had my 25 week telephone appointment today and I’m finally seeing a midwife in August! (Yay)
