@Missworry92 hi, I'm due on the 15th too 😊 is this your first? This is my first and we don't know what we're having, keeping it a surprise but I'm so impatient haha xx

Aereon91 · 05/07/2020 13:20

Has anyone had their gender scan yet? We had a private one yesterday so that my partner could come and it was honestly one of the happiest moments I've experienced. The staff were all so lovely and positive. Wefound out we're having a little girl! We're very excited :)

HarrietM87 · 05/07/2020 13:33

Omg @Addler that’s so disgusting - poor poor you!!!

Glad they’ve refunded you. Not sure I’d really want to go back there but hopefully they’ll sort themselves out and you can get a free trip in the future!

I bought my first thing for the new baby online today - just some cute long sleeved vests in the sale. DS only had short sleeved ones up to 6 months as he was a spring baby so while I can reuse his sleepsuits I need some warmer vests!

NatalieH2220 · 05/07/2020 15:28

Congratulations @Aereon91 on finding out you're having a little girl.

We had ours a couple of weeks back and are having a boy. I have my 20 week scan Wednesday so hoping that will go okay.

Pink15 · 05/07/2020 17:07

@HarrietM87 when do you use long sleeve vests? I was thinking they go under sleep suits but not sure I can be bothered with the faff of putting long sleeves on top of long sleeves?

Missworry92 · 05/07/2020 17:59

@bluebell94 hi :) aww that's nice! I'm having a little boy and I was dying to know and my fiance wanted to see the baby on a scan so we went to find out privately. This is my first so super excited and so nervous at the same time eek :) how have you been feeling with pregnancy so far? I had my 20week scan and the lady told me I've got an anterior placenta so gonna google that to find out what it means exactly haha xx

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/07/2020 18:07

Started getting PGP across the front of my pubic bone and both butt cheeks. Ouch! Made worse by walking round Tesco today! Anyone else suffering?

Also - who’s in charge of the Facebook group, I think I will join after all

HarrietM87 · 05/07/2020 19:12

@Pink15 yes under sleepsuits (our house is freezing) or I’ve got a few leggings with feet (like the bottom half of a sleepsuit) so with that plus a cardigan. DS wore them with long sleeved tops over the top when it was winter (he was 7-9months ish) and it wasn’t a faff really, but might be with a newborn 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wise0wl · 05/07/2020 20:16

Not sure if this has been covered (apologies if so) but how many of each size clothes are people buying (newborn? First size? 0-3 months?)

I’m planning to start shopping soon and have my anomaly scan tomorrow but am finding it difficult to imagine how big this baby is going to be and how big the clothes are when looking online. Any thoughts appreciated!

Sweetpea1985 · 05/07/2020 20:22

I've got about 10 maybe 12 sleep suits in 0 to 3 months 1 cardigan that my mum bought and I'm going to buy a star wrap (thanks Harrietm87 for the good call 😁) and a snow suit for when we go on walks and shes in the carry cot. That's all I'm getting.

HarrietM87 · 05/07/2020 20:39

@Wise0wl the 0-3 month size will be too big for the baby when they’re first born (I think they start at 12-14lbs up) so you’ll need a few to get you through the first few weeks (unless you’re happy with a baggy look which is also fine!). I had I think 3 in newborn size (up to 9lbs, glad I didn’t buy more as he was just under 9lbs at birth), about 6 in 1 month size (up to 12/14lbs can’t remember) and then about 6-9 in 0-3 months. I got packs of 3 from John Lewis but ended up with way more from gifts.

Wise0wl · 05/07/2020 22:11

Thank you @HarrietM87 and @Sweetpea1985 - this helps to narrow it down a lot (and also will stop me going overboard...)

twinsbelly · 05/07/2020 22:21

Sorry I have been lurking since I joined a few threads ago. Has anyone else felt movement later than in a previous pregnancy? I am 19 weeks and this is my third pregnancy and I haven't felt a thing yet. First time round it was 16/17 weeks, second time it was twins so earlier, this time nada and it is making me anxious!

Sweetpea1985 · 05/07/2020 22:24

@twinsbelly it could be the position of your placenta? Just ask them to check at your 20 week scan maybe if it's in the way of any kicks being felt

BeMorePacific · 05/07/2020 22:28

@BuffaloCauliflower I’m with you on the pain front. Feel like an old lady. I didn’t get this in my 1st pregnancy it’s so crappy!!
The FB group is so lovely! It’s Gemma that is admin for the group, but I’m not sure her name on here. X

BeMorePacific · 05/07/2020 22:30

@twinsbelly It could be that you have an anterior placenta, so you aren’t feeling kicks and movement as much xx

twinsbelly · 05/07/2020 22:31

@Sweetpea1985 you are right, I do have an anterior placenta, although I did both times before as well and it didn't make this much difference. 20 week scan soon so not too long to wait.

How do I join the Facebook group?

littlegem84 · 06/07/2020 04:34

Hello people wanting to join the Facebook group, just add me: www.facebook.com/gemma.howe.12 and I'll invite you to join 😀

@twinsbelly I felt my first at 17 weeks and didn't feel anything definite with this one until after the 20 week scan, turns out I've got an anterior placenta this time around.

Clove20 · 06/07/2020 06:03

I've added you on Facebook as well @littlegem84

I have a random Facebook account because of privacy issues with my job, it's better for me not to be all over the internet x

TangBloodyFastic · 06/07/2020 09:26

Morning all
Just been reading a few threads on the pregnancy board and just wondered, for those who have been pregnant before or have it now, when does reflux/heartburn start?
I am keeping everything crossed that I don't suffer with it - at the moment I'm fine -touches wood-

Clove20 · 06/07/2020 10:01

@tangbloodyfastic

My heartburn started about 12 weeks and I am 20weeks now.
This is my second pregnancy and I didn't have heartburn with my first.

Fouryearslater · 06/07/2020 10:04

@twinsbelly I’m getting little movement too. Maybe the odd flutter, but nothing definitive. I can’t remember when I started feeling movements last time but I definitely had an anterior placenta.

I’m 20 weeks on Wednesday and have my scan, so I’m going to check. If it is anterior again it helps make my mind up re: vbac or elcs!

BuffaloCauliflower · 06/07/2020 10:09

@littlegem84 added you just now

@BeMorePacific seems to be getting more consistent which is not great. So glad I’m not having to do my commute right now! If it doesn’t get worse than this I’ll manage, so hope this is the worst of it 🤞🏻. Thankfully DH is wonderful and is doing everything. Going to the zoo Wednesday for DNS birthday so hope I’m alright walking around 😬

AnxiousLady1 · 06/07/2020 10:23

@fouryearslater Do you mind me asking why anterior placenta will determine what kind of birth you want? I only ask as I have anterior too, and haven't done much reading on it -other than knowing it cushions movement more.
