@Kovu sorry spelt your name wrong! See above message 🤦🏼‍♀️

KaptenKrusty · 26/06/2020 10:08

Ohhh @Kovu I do t know you could get such a thing? Tbh I was gonna but more tests - but have decided to stop myself - I got a few positives and decided to just wait it out now! Haha the suspense is killing me tho the weeks are going by so slowly

Kovu · 26/06/2020 10:08

Haha all good @BookishEm 😊 (it’s not letting me tag you for some reason?)

My doctor tested it as part of a number of blood tests she wanted me to have like iron levels and Hep-B and things like that. Not sure if it’s normal to test or track but she just said everything else looked good but my HCG levels (which I believe is the pregnancy hormone) could be low but it’s too early to tell. I don’t know if I would have preferred she didn’t tell me or not!

BookishEm · 26/06/2020 10:12

@kovu my doctor just referred me to the midwives who don’t want to see me till 10 weeks! So not had any tests at all... I’m going for an early scan at 9 weeks so that will be the first time I’ll get any type of medical confirmation. Just trying to be positive but did wonder if my doctors should have seen me?

Littlebee1990 · 26/06/2020 10:19

@BookishEm I just called my doctors “we don’t deal with that anymore, go on our website and type in pregnancy and that will tell you what to do” - thanks.. so helpful!

bubblybon20 · 26/06/2020 10:23

Hoping someone could help me understand this.. I have 3 apps to track AF. I was just looking and the one giving me the 30th, says i would of ovulated on the 16th. I got my first positive on the 22nd, surely there's no way that I'm in line with that app 🥴 the other one on 28th says I would have ovulated on the 13th which seems more likely.. feel like I'm driving myself mad waiting for AF to pass 🙈

BookishEm · 26/06/2020 10:37

@Littlebee1990 so helpful! Where are you based? I’m in Scotland so wonder if it’s different in different parts of the UK? Was easy to make my booking appointment and my scan appointment but honestly thought I’d see someone sooner!

peonyrose87 · 26/06/2020 10:43

@BookishEm I'm in Scotland too and have a midwife appointment at 8 weeks and then will get a scan appointment through the post after that. (That's what happened last time anyway). So odd how it can be so different in the same country!

BookishEm · 26/06/2020 10:47

@peonyrose87 that’s so weird! I just assumed it be the same for everyone. Where are you? I’m in Glasgow! Not sure if we “pick” our maternity hospital or if you just go to the one nearest you... I think I want the one nearest me anyway but feel a bit confused by it all... going to buy a few pregnancy books I think and then I’ll feel like at least I’m “in control” of something 😂

Littlebee1990 · 26/06/2020 11:08

I’m in Hertfordshire, I’ve filled in a self referral form online and just have to wait to be contacted. Have booked private scan for 26th July because I’m a control freak 🤪

SK2970 · 26/06/2020 11:11

@Littlebee1990 that's so unhelpful! I'm in England and called my drs (as per NHS website instructions) who said they no longer deal with it but they did give me the number of the women's centre that does do it!
I called them about 20mins ago and the receptionist wasn't there so left my details for a call back... I'm about to go spend the afternoon with my mum so I am impatiently watching the phone as think I would need to ignore it if they called whilst I was with my mum and don't want to tell her yet!!

MyGossip · 26/06/2020 11:25

@AuntieR456 @Sunshineeeee @Hopesandrainbows @SunflowerOwl @Littlebee1990 @clarabel2 @smiley321 @Kovu congratulations all on your BFP!! I've seen done of you on the ttc forums and it's so nice to see you here!

@BookishEm I haven't yet but definitely going to book one for the 25th July. I'm hoping I'll be either 9-10 weeks by then. I'd book it now but I don't want to jinx anything 🙈 although my scan letter came yesterday and doesn't say anything on it about hubby not being able to come. If does say your can bring one person with you'

@peonyrose87 Scotland here too... my MW appointment works out at around 10-11 weeks and NHS scan 12-13 weeks. Must be busy!?

peonyrose87 · 26/06/2020 11:29

@BookishEm I'm in Aberdeen! We only have one hospital to go to, so that part is easy. I had to go to the early pregnancy unit a lot during my last pregnancy and they're lovely so I'm happy with that. Yeah books are helpful!! It's so hard at this stage when you're just waiting around.

@MyGossip ohh 10 weeks is a long wait! The midwife at my surgery only works a Wednesday so I'm actually surprised it's not a long wait here too

Sakura54 · 26/06/2020 11:34

Lol thanks @peonyrose87 I don’t test until after AF is completely missed. I’m petrified of another MC TBH, but if it was going to happen then at least be a normal one this time right! Apparently the chances of a 2nd is the same as the 1st, so just as likely! How are you?

@Kovu I’m in London. I’ve never had that test and don’t get any tests until 8 weeks then at 12 weeks. I believe they normally only test your HCG if there’s some confusion?

It was a waste of time going to the GP for me last time. They didn’t do a pregnancy test and referred me to the wrong hospital (apparently no one has ever asked for a different hospital) so I did it myself in the end.

BookishEm · 26/06/2020 11:43

@MyGossip that’s the same as my timing. 10 weeks then 12 weeks. Maybe all this lockdown has caused a baby boom after all 🙈 where about in Scotland are you?

MyGossip · 26/06/2020 11:49

@BookishEm possibly? I'm just outside Edinburgh so I'm going to their community hospital instead of the main one. I didn't even question the dates as that's the first ones they gave me but according to my best friend (who just had a baby) those dates seem normal and were in line with hers last year. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess if I have any concerns or anything I'll just phone the GP but fingers crossed it doesn't come to that 🤞🏻

BookishEm · 26/06/2020 11:53

@MyGossip I’m from Livingston originally so not a million miles from where you are now! Glad someone has confirmed that those dates are about normal! I’m just so excited now it’s started to sink in. I’m going for an early scan at 9 weeks so won’t have to wait as long. Honestly it feels like these 9 months are going to drag by! 😂

MyGossip · 26/06/2020 14:34

@BookishEm oh you're not far at all. Yeh I was a little curious around the dates but my friend assured me that was normal.

I'm not sure if it's being back at work (siting at my kitchen table working after being off for nine weeks) or just pregnancy but I've got such achy shoulders, like I need a nice massage. Even removing my bra straps gives me some relief. It's not stabbing pains or anything, just really achy.

I wished for symptoms and this week I've had constipation and achy shoulders 🙈🙈 ....I'm not wishing for anymore now. I'll consider myself lucky that I've not had morning sickness or anything in between... long may it continue! I hope you are all doing well ❤️

BookishEm · 26/06/2020 15:06

A spot has turned up on my cheek which is stressing me out that AF is going to show herself! I think I’m going to feel so much better once it’s been a few weeks!

SunflowerOwl · 26/06/2020 15:54

@MyGossip thank you! Congratulations on yours too Flowers

Is anyone else in the South West? Smile

SunflowerOwl · 26/06/2020 15:57

@BookishEm I can see a couple of spots lurking too but I think it can happen in early pregnancy too. I keep touching my face to see if anymore are there which is probably not helping 🙈

SK2970 · 26/06/2020 16:23

I have a load of spots appear too Sad hope they go quickly!!
Got my booking appointment for 8th August..feels so long away!

Justkeepswimming91 · 26/06/2020 16:56

@SunflowerOwl I am in the South West :)

Indigo89 · 26/06/2020 18:12

Hi everyone,
Congratulations on your BFP's. I got mine on Monday.
Due date calculator says March 1st.
I'm in the North East and this will be a sibling for DD who is 2.
I've been to the shop this afternoon and bought a clear blue to check again tomorrow morning.
So far my boobs feel tender at the sides near my armpits and I keep having sicky burps (sorry)

Littlebee1990 · 26/06/2020 18:17

I hear you all with the spots, the positive is none of my friends will ask if my period came because my face looks like a teenager right now, so many spots round the mouth!
Despite a BFP I’m still so nervous that I’m going to come on my period on Monday... does the worry ever stop!? I’ve definitely got early stage insomnia.. 4hr14 last night and less than 5 hours all week... oh well at least it’s setting me up for what’s to come 🤣
