Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join. I got my BFP last Wednesday and again on Friday and I'm due march 2nd. My husband and I have been trying for a few years, did all the fertility tests that were normal but nothing happened until now. Now I'm absolutely bricking it (I'm 32 with a high BMI) I have no idea how to just chill out about it all and stop worrying that it's not going to hold. I've never been pregnant before so I'm so clueless about everything. My midwife called me and told me to just chill and relax but that's easy for her to say lol.

Congrats to everyone and their BFPs x

liveinhope100 · 30/06/2020 23:06

@Kangaroo77 il exactly the same as you! Booked a private scan for next Tuesday, no symptoms at all really. Referred myself on nhs and they said a midwife will be in touch to organise blood test but can seem to relax until that happens or the scan!

Wondering if all the ladies on here have had blood tests to confirm? I thought the doctors used to do it but mine weren’t interested lol

peonyrose87 · 01/07/2020 03:23

@Hopesandrainbows my early scan will be £70. There's another place up here that does it for £45 but that's where I found out about my MMC and they weren't very supportive so I'm not keen to go back there!

Carmelova85 · 01/07/2020 06:00

@Kangaroo77 I feel the same, like I’ve been pregnant for couple of months when I found out only on Friday! Any particular reason for the early scan? I’m from Poland and in my country you do the scan straight away and see the doctor, not MW. This waiting is killing me!

Hopesandrainbows · 01/07/2020 06:05

Oh crickey maybe I'll look for somewhere cheaper 😂. Constipation is back with a vengeance today! I'm literally trying to eat quite healthily too. Had the weirdest cramp/ discomfort last night on my right side of pelvis and it went down my leg. Lasted a few minutes so I've assumed more stretching but was very weird! I guess we just have to get used to the odd cramp, twinge, stretch, bloated tummy etc as it's just a sign something is growing in there- amazing!

Hopesandrainbows · 01/07/2020 06:07

I'm also having scan Friday at EPU to check baby is in the right place as it was too early to see on Monday so really hoping they see a dot or something and that can b my first bit of reassurance x

Tecalina · 01/07/2020 06:37

@Hopesandrainbows @peonyrose87 My early scan is costing £200 😂🙈 I thought it best to go to the fertility clinic I've been using this year, as they know my medical history and they helped me to get pregnant after trying for so long! I'll go more locally to a cheaper place for the 9/10 weeks scan though! I think it's £70 here in Watford.

Hello @Mooncake24 I'm 32 and this is my first bubba too! Very nervous!

@Carmelova85 That's interesting! What do they look for in the super early scan?!

Hopesandrainbows · 01/07/2020 07:01

@Tecalina ooo are you going to have 2 early scans?

Tecalina · 01/07/2020 07:10

@Hopesandrainbows I reckon so! The wait between weeks 7 and 12 will be too much for me and as this will be my mum's first grandchild she wants everything documented 😂

Tecalina · 01/07/2020 07:10

@Hopesandrainbows How's the leg/pelvis this morning?

Hopesandrainbows · 01/07/2020 07:15

@Tecalina aww I'm now tempted to do the same 😂🙈 will be my mum's first grandchild too. She is so excited! I'm just praying it sticks this time.

The sudden cramp thing only lasted a few minutes so all good now other than just feeling bloated and achy due to dodgy belly/ not being able to go. I'm on the prune juice and hot lemon but might buy some kiwi and apples today 🤷🏻‍♀️ only two more sleeps until I'm back having bloods and another scan 🙈 I dread it but excited at the same time. It's horrid as it's done in the same room where they told me I was having a miscarriage 😞 so I hate the suspense of waiting for them to say they can/ can't see something.

Spinksy9 · 01/07/2020 07:19

Ladies, should I be worried??? AF due tomorrow. BFP on saturday and monday. Did another today to check progression and it's hardly viable? Also noticed a small about of blood when I checked my cervix? (Was still super soft though) Just booked a private early scan as well 😭

Due March 2021
Tecalina · 01/07/2020 07:20

@Hopesandrainbows I wake up feeling bloated and uncomfortable too - your stomach is supposed to be at its best in the morning and mine looks like I've been feasting in my sleep 😂 Ah well, the price we pay to house a cute little tadpole!

My thoughts will be with you on Friday, I really hope everything goes well 🤞🏻 Are they checking your hCG levels have risen appropriately? Xx

Tecalina · 01/07/2020 07:23

@Spinksy9 So sorry you've woken up with this worry! What colour was the blood?

Spinksy9 · 01/07/2020 07:26

@Tecalina Light red

Carmelova85 · 01/07/2020 07:26

@Tecalina they do the scan between 6-8 week to confirm the pregnancy and check if it's okay, or maybe ectopic. Every time during your visit you see the doctor and have your scan done.
Not to mention 100% paid maternity leave for 6 months, or 80% for 1 year ;)

I moved to UK in 2012 but don't have any super close friends I went through the whole pregnancy process with, so have to learn a lot!

In last 12 months I got married, changed the job, bought my house, got a dog and now a baby! What a rollercoaster.

Hopesandrainbows · 01/07/2020 07:31

@Tecalina I know, I've spent so much money on pregnancy tests (not to mention ovulation sticks when we were trying) so more money on scans I feel is worth it.

Yes, they'll check my HCG again so by then it should really be over 1000 as it was 308 on Monday. They said when HCG is over 1000, they should just about be able to see something on the ultrasound. I have been doing pregnancy tests everyday though and they're getting darker so I'm hoping that's good and means HCG is progressing nicely. Pic attached- top one was Monday and bottom is this morning

Due March 2021
Carmelova85 · 01/07/2020 07:38

@Hopesandrainbows have you tried those showing which week from conceiving you are in?

Tecalina · 01/07/2020 07:39

@Carmelova85 Is the early scan offered to everyone? That's really good! And the maternity leave in Poland is amazing! You no longer have to go through the process alone, because we're here to support you 🙂

@Hopesandrainbows I took a test every day last week, but have managed to reduced it to one every three days now 😂 I had my hCG checked last Monday at it was at 1185, so I'm hoping it's continued to increased 🤞🏻 Your test looks strong today, that's a good sign!!

@Spinksy9 I know it's easier said than done, but please don't worry yourself too much until you know AF has fully arrived. As we've seen in this thread there's so many reasons for spotting, they even found that 25% of women spot in early pregnancy. My fingers are tightly crossed for you and I'm hoping everything is ok 🙂

Tecalina · 01/07/2020 07:41

@Carmelova85 They're so clever, aren't they?! I took one of those CB test on the 18th and it said '2-3 weeks' then took another one yesterday and it said '3+ weeks' so I'm hoping that is a bit of positive confirmation!

Kangaroo77 · 01/07/2020 07:52

@liveinhope100 nice not to feel alone with no symptoms. I wish I could get my bloods tested too, I think they do it in some countries but not as a standard in uk.

@Carmelova85 yes I'm quite anxious because I've had 2 trisomy babies that ended in surgical terminations, the last one was in March this year (my partners first baby). Plus I'm 42 😄 so obviously with my history and age I'm just desperate to get reassurance all is well 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 xxxx

Kangaroo77 · 01/07/2020 07:53

@Spinksy9 fingers crossed it's just spotting xxx

OP posts:
Hopesandrainbows · 01/07/2020 07:57

@Tecalina How far along are you? I took the how many weeks test last Friday which said 1-2 so I am going to wait until maybe tomorrow (maybe later if I can't wait 😅) in the hope it says 2-3. I'm hoping it will by now as the test is darker. I ovulated 2 and a half weeks ago now so should be ok.

@Spinksy9 I have had spotting too which seems to come and go. My husband messaged our friend last night and he said that his wife spotted the whole way through (I don't think I'd cope with that anxiety) but it's so common! But I completely understand your anxieties as I feel exactly the same every-time I see any spotting and I'm not very good at taking my own advice 😂 xx
