Morning @BS9790. I came home from hospital after DS in leggings and a maternity top. You just want to be comfortable.

@MilsCookie completely understand. Good luck the scan tomorrow.

@BecsterG I was thinking leggings or joggers, wasn't sure what would be most comfortable. I'll need to order something as have neither of those lol x

MilsCookie · 18/08/2020 11:46

Thank you ladies @SunnySideUp2020 @Ejb86 @BecsterG 😘 I have my anomaly scan at 10:40am then have to hang around till 2:30pm for my usual 2 week appointment with fetal medicine. I'm imagining they will be running late as they always are, and the scan will probably be around an hour so I'm hoping for the first bit to be done by 12:30! Then gonna have lunch somewhere with DP and go back (yes he's allowed to come with me thankfully!!)

I'm the same @BS9790 in that I've been living in pyjamas 🙈 I'm having a c section so I know I'll want something comfortable to wear over my tummy! I was thinking a floaty/loose dress and leggings maybe? Or would leggings be a no no?!

Whiffle77 · 18/08/2020 12:52

Good luck tomorrow @MilsCookie hope it all goes well!

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/08/2020 17:50

@MilsCookie Good luck for tomorrow 💓
You will have a long day so hope you get a good night's sleep tonight x

ChampooPapi · 18/08/2020 18:32

@MilsCookie love and hugs your way for tomorrow 🥰 🤗 I will be checking from the end of day for your update but we will all understand if your just absolutely shattered and need bed and rest and no mumsnet times. Just let us know how it all goes as and when you can.

Right list time all you beauties 💃

BecsterG · 18/08/2020 18:35

@MilsCookie if you wore maternity leggings you'd be fine as the band in high.

I'll be thinking of you and DP tomorrow

@Ejb86 such a perfect and beautiful announcement 💗

ChampooPapi · 18/08/2020 18:54

@BS9790 you certainly can come home in a light summer maternity dress, as long as you've got a big warm coat to go over the top so definitely pack some light throw on options. Its so darn hot in hospitals and the walk to the car then to your front door is so short, you may really appreciate something light and comfortable to throw on that makes also going to the loo easy. Or you could do a me and wear your pyjamas home like with my last 🌝 depends how stylish you feel post baby so pack a very comfortable nightie/light dress as well as some leggings or lounge wear.

I think I may repeat my pyjama situation to be honest, I will be getting straight onto a bed or sofa on my return anyway, but I promise you ladies they will be pristine 🙏 I refuse to be seen shuffling out of hospital with porridge encrusted robes

MilsCookie · 18/08/2020 20:44

Thank you @Whiffle77 @SunnySideUp2020 @BecsterG @ChampooPapi - I'm probably not going to get ANY sleep tonight but will try. I'll update you all at some point tomorrow I'm sure. I'm just expecting bad news and I can't bear the waiting. I just wish it was more straight forward. Sorry for moaning but I just feel so pissed off right now like all the joy of this pregnancy has been sucked out of me for the last 4 weeks and it's all coming to a head tonight before the scan. SIGH.

BS9790 · 18/08/2020 21:19

@ChampooPapi, not too worried about being stylish, stylish isn't really my bag anyway haha! But I work in the school directly opposite the hospital, so depending what time I'm leaving... There's a good chance of seeing parents/kids/staff/all of the above. It will be just my luck they send me home at half past 3 😂 the hospital car park for patients/visitors is also across the road from the hospital itself, so I literally have to cross at my school gate! X

ChampooPapi · 18/08/2020 22:09

@BS9790 oh that will soo happen, maybe maternity lounge wear then 😁

ChampooPapi · 18/08/2020 22:10

@BS9790 or just a few sizes up, I saw some nice bits in m&s today

ChampooPapi · 18/08/2020 22:14

These look slouchy and comfortable but still quite pyjama ish obviously

@MilsCookie best of luck with your scan today! Thinking of you and your girls!xx

BecsterG · 19/08/2020 09:54

Brilliant news @Leok83. When's your dating scan?

OP posts:
Leok83 · 19/08/2020 10:07

@BecsterG it's the 8th September, DH hasn't been allowed into any of the scans though so will prob get another private scan in 2 weeks aswell so he can get to see a heartbeat hopefully as his lasting memory of a scan will be the MMC otherwise. Plus it shortens that 3 week gap!!

MrsB16 · 19/08/2020 10:14

Good luck today @MilsCookie, thinking of you! And great news @Leok83, looks like a lovely little baby! I had a scan at 7 weeks at the epu and again at a private scan at 10 weeks for reassurance before my 12 week scan. It definitely helps break the time up and it was worth every penny. The difference was huge and she went from looking like a gummy bear to an actual baby, it was amazing.

Whiffle77 · 19/08/2020 10:20

Thats great news @Leok83 really pleased for you!

We also had private scans, one at 8 weeks and one at 18 weeks - first for reassurance and the second so that my husband could see a baby on the screen instead of a bean

Thinking of you today @MilsCookie

AlviesMam · 19/08/2020 11:23

@MilsCookie Thinking of you all today 😘

ChampooPapi · 19/08/2020 11:38

@Leok83 that is such a relief, you are really marching onwards to your dating scan now! great news Smile

SunnySideUp2020 · 19/08/2020 13:19

@Leok83
Didnt know you had a scan!!! Glad to hear it's all good with your chubby bean 😍
Almost at the 12 week mark 🙌

@MilsCookie thinking of you and your DP x

Leok83 · 19/08/2020 15:43

Thanks everyone!! Nerve wrecking times but only 3 more weeks in this god forsaken trimester and starting to let myself believe it all has some chance of working out ok now😊😊😊!

@SunnySideUp2020 your scan is this week too isn't it?
