Hey girls. Just realised I haven't posted since I was waiting for my second scan to see if there was a heartbeat... there was and I'm 9 weeks today have my 12 week scan 3 weeks tomorrow 🤗 hope you're all doing well mama's xx

Mumof4andahalf · 23/06/2020 16:50

@CoalCraft I know it's a personal question and tmi but was it just blood or clots too?

myhappyevernow · 23/06/2020 17:03

Hi Girls, I'm a first time poster on here! I'm due mid Jan and had my first scan yesterday at 10+2 before harmony test. Turns out baby only measured 9+1 so that's 8 days behind so they couldn't complete harmony test as you need to be 10 weeks. She rescheduled for next week to check again. I left feeling really anxious, she told me to stay positive and that if baby was measuring a week further on by next week my dates are just wrong. I know my dates though and if I go by her measurements I'd have got my bfp at 2dpo. Feeling really worried baby isnt progressing.

I did see heartbeat of 171. This is my 3rd and didnt have this with other two.

Hope you girls are all surviving the first trimester x

StephS1984 · 23/06/2020 19:10

@MayBug2020 I am finding it hard to drink. In the first few weeks, I drank so much water with a lemon slice in. Now I struggle to think of drinks that are appealing. Also I can find drinking water before lunch makes me nauseous and more likely to bring it up. However (tmi) if your pee looks an ok colour, that’s a good sign isn’t ?

11+4

StephS1984 · 23/06/2020 19:23

@myhappyevernow welcome and congratulations on seeing the heart beat ❤️

MayBug2020 · 23/06/2020 19:44

@StephS1984 that’s what I think. Heard drinking more helps with the mucus at the back of the throat which I am suffering with so tried drinking more today in little sips x

StephS1984 · 23/06/2020 20:02

@MayBug2020 I have that mucus thing too, it’s worse when I wake up.

MayBug2020 · 23/06/2020 20:06

@StephS1984 I know it’s horrible and makes me gag in the morning and then bile comes up and then during the day I some times randomly gag and have a lot of excess saliva (how lovely) xx

Dia12 · 23/06/2020 21:21

Hi all, jumping back on after some time. I'm 9+5 today and have my first dating scan next Monday.
Just nervous about getting through this first trimester and time seems to be passing so slowly.

I was also dated about a week behind when I went for an early scan @myhappyevernow. It's really quite common and although we may know when LH peaked, it still may not be when you actually ovulated. And sperm can hang around for several days too so date of conception can easily be out.
Also, many babies can catch up in growth in the next scan so the date can change back again. The most important thing is that baby grows appropriately between scans. The heartbeat of 171 is very reassuring. So wouldn't worry too much.

Sunshinedahlia · 23/06/2020 22:38

I found drinking through a straw helps @MayBug2020. Then you can have really tiny sips. I also put an ice cube in the drink.

I am just so exhausted constantly, although I am doing almost nothing. At work I just try to keep my eyes open and try and concentrate. This morning I was awake from 4-6am (similar story to last 3-4 weeks), then by 4.30pm I was so exhausted I drove home from work crying and went to sleep 6.30-9pm. :0/ Between that and the constant nausea and inability to stomach any healthy food (eating mostly kids cereal and mashed potato atm) I‘m not feeling my best! Hoping it will start to get better soon. 9w.

myhappyevernow · 24/06/2020 07:16

@Dia12 Thanks so much, I guess you are right even if I know my cycle it can vary. It's definitely a nervous time the first trimester I'm looking forward to getting through it too. I know there's no safe time in pregnancy but at least less risk. Cant wait to feel baby move for comfort 💕

MayBug2020 · 24/06/2020 07:37

@Sunshinedahlia thank you I will try and just my cup with a straw to see if that helps.

I know what you mean about the tiredness, nausea and not wanting to eat. I keep telling myself it will get better. I am just doing what I can when I can and allowing myself to sleep when I need to. Taking a nap at lunchtime but it helps that I am working from home and getting into bed early to relax and then falling asleep about 8-9pm xx

Lollipop93 · 24/06/2020 07:55

Just out of interest, I’m wondering or if all of us hasn’t had a private scan yet and isn’t planning on having one? I have been so tempted but I think I’m waiting until my nhs 12 week scan on the 10th July. Just want to know if there is anyone on same boat as me

10+1

BabyG123 · 24/06/2020 08:12

@Lollipop93 I'd have not had one but did on Saturday husband could come. Guidance changed anyway and he can come to nhs one tomorrow 🤪 only 5 days in it otherwise but wanted him to be there!

Sunshinedahlia · 24/06/2020 08:13

@MayBug2020 yes it will get better! I have the day off today thank goodness and working from home again next week 👍 Have no idea how anyone does this in a more physical job?! Respect to them 🙌

MayBug2020 · 24/06/2020 08:20

@Sunshinedahlia oh yay that’s good news! Take today to rest as much as you can. I know those with physical jobs and young children and hero’s xx

blueskiesandapples · 24/06/2020 08:38

@maybug2020 and @StephS1984 - i've really been struggling to drink for weeks. The first few weeks I drank pints and pints and now i can barely get anything down! I'll try the straw approach as i'm so dehydrated, and that is making the nausea worse haha.

I'm also suffering from the mucus and it's been making me gag, but now i've progressed to throwing up in the morning.

Lollipop93 · 24/06/2020 08:55

@BabyG123 hey! I know I was in two minds about the whole thing the one local to me was closed for covid. Our nhs hospital still isn’t letting partners in even on 10th July :/ ill ask nearer the time again and see though. I’m just going to try wait it out though because I think no matter what I do it won’t change anything and then I thought if i saw a heartbeat now and then it’s gone by week 12 I would be more sad. Either way I’m just a worrier regardless 😞

MayBug2020 · 24/06/2020 08:56

@blueskiesandapples yes I was the same - I have never been a big drinker but was drinking loads but I am struggling but trying my best as I know it helps with sickness and apparently also helps thin the mucus if you are hydrated.

I am now sick every morning thanks to the mucus. Just bile but it does help although not nice. The gaging comes out of no where. How are along are you? I am 10 weeks today xx

BabyG123 · 24/06/2020 09:00

@Lollipop93 joining the worrier crew! It's normal don't worry!

OP posts:
blueskiesandapples · 24/06/2020 09:08

@MayBug2020 i'm only 8+3 but i've had the mucus and gagging for several weeks now and it is just getting worse as I progressed to being sick yesterday and just brought up bile like you. Same this morning. Lovely!

We can do this! Hopefully as you are a couple of weeks further along it will start settling down soon! :)

MayBug2020 · 24/06/2020 09:48

@blueskiesandapples yes I have had it for a few weeks now - fingers crossed it eases for us both soon and we start to feel more like ourselves :) xx

Bubbabee · 24/06/2020 09:54

@BabyG123 your so lucky. I have to go to all my scans alone. It so much more nerve racking.
This morning I had a phone call saying I have been booked for my nhs scan this afternoon!! 😬😬 I am so anxious.
Last night the nausea and restless legs were kicking my backside only thing that seemed to settle nausea was chewing ice!! I hated ice before pregnancy haha. Hope everyone is ok today.
@Mumof4andahalf how are you ?

IshaPoet · 24/06/2020 09:59

Morning beauties,

Hope all your symptoms are in full swing 😂 I joke but thank God for them otherwise we would be lost to our mind and fears.

So I've had so much phlegm it's getting ridiculous now I had to wake up 3 times last night just so I didn't choke in my sleep. And the bile 😖🤢 is just pure headache🤕 bcos I refuse to let all the good food I've cooked go to waste in my belly.
With my twin pregnancy I couldn't even look at a chicken leg without vomiting- now I can look at it but I can't stand the smell of it.

How are you all feeling?

8+5 today❤️💙💜

blueskiesandapples · 24/06/2020 10:22

@IshaPoet I know what you mean about chicken! I can't bear the thought of it. I'm totally off meat at the minute, it just smells disgusting and the thought of eating it is revolting whereas normally I do eat meat. So random!

Have you had your booking appointment yet? I have mine tomorrow - an hour on the phone and then I have to pop into the surgery later in the day to give bloods etc.
