StaceImpactWfan · 11/12/2020 07:17

I feel exactly the same as you. I can't even walk up the stairs without feeling like she's going to drop out.

Ukbentley · 11/12/2020 16:54

I'm just back from the hospital for my blood flow scan and had daycare after and was shocked to see consultant come down to see me from the ward she said blood flow is not good it's over working again and gave me first set of steroid injections, back in Tommorrow for 2nd dose and movement to be monitored and then scan 9.30 on Monday and to see her and she said she doesn't think I will make it 29th December now and she is very sorry and I've to keep extra monitoring with movement so I kind of don't know what is going on now

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 11/12/2020 17:31

Oh no that's not good, you'd think they'd keep you informed. Do you think you'll have him next week then if they are giving you steroids or is that a precaution?

Ukbentley · 11/12/2020 22:39

I'm not sure stace,I'm making no plans,at least I seen the same consultant, she just said she was really sorry that after telling me things had improved on Monday that it's the blood flow is too high and what's happening is that they check blood vessel in head twice a week too and it's shown that all the blood is going to that vessel and over working and that shows them that the baby is struggling in some kind of way,so she just said we are aiming for 37 weeks now and if things improve she will make a decision, she also said she doesn't think I will have to have baby on Monday so realistically I haven't got a clue but she seemed very serious about me keeping an eye on my movements but this baby is not a regular mover like my last baby so I find it really hard to know when just to phone them

StaceImpactWfan · 12/12/2020 17:45

Hope all goes well for you, and keep us updated.

Ukbentley · 13/12/2020 06:46

Thanks stace will do,been admitted overnight as I took an allergic reaction to that steroid injection and my whole body went fiery red and felt like I had been severely burned but 2 injections of antihistamines plus tablets have calmed it down so hoping to get home this morning

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 13/12/2020 10:14

Oh bless you, hope you feel better soon x

Ukbentley · 14/12/2020 18:29

Hi stace thanks very much, well had my scan an clinic today blood flow back to normal but they are delivering in 4 days time as they feel it is time now,I'm excited and super nervous at the same time as I though I still had 15 days left until the first time they booked me in for,I will be 37+2 on Friday so I'm just praying all goes well,I will let you know and remember to let me know how you get on with your appointment for placenta

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 14/12/2020 19:20

StaceImpactWfan · 18/12/2020 17:26

Hope all has gone well today.

Ukbentley · 22/12/2020 12:57

Hi stace sorry for my late reply, all went amazing, baby arrived perfect on Friday morning and was 7lbs 1 I couldn't believe it after all that worry about his weight,he had to be put in incubator overnight to regulate temperature but that was it,got home on Sunday morning, baby is not a good sleeper so far we have been up all night for 2 nights but I'm sure he will settle and my little girl has been up for 2 nights also poor thing she can't get to sleep with all the crying but she has taken to him really well,he has got jaundice since yesterday but feeding well so they were not concerned but it was just such a different experience this time i couldn't of asked for better,Howard you getting on?have you found out what is happening yet x

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 22/12/2020 13:34

Oh thats brilliant, so glad everything is well and congratulations. I'm sure he Will settle once in routine bless him.

No we find out on Christmas eve. Hopefully not long left now.

Ukbentley · 22/12/2020 14:15

Thanks very much I'm just so grateful to have him home safely, that's not long how exciting let me know how you get on,and even though I'm sore the section was a lovely experience because it was an elective and not as bad as I thought this time so don't worry about it if it comes to that I'm sure we will be able to share tips on recovery as long as we have were beautiful babies is all that matters we are so lucky having something so good happening during this pandemic I don't think I would of coped as well otherwise

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 22/12/2020 14:59

I totally agree, I'm so nervous but no need to be until I know for sure. Can't wait for her to be here now.

StaceImpactWfan · 24/12/2020 16:06

Wasn't the best of news. I'm being admitted on Sunday and have to stay there til my section date on the 5th jan. My placenta had moved but was only 1cm away which isn't enough and baby is only weighing 5lb something so they were concerned about that. So having to repack and sort everything out before I go as I won't be back until baby is here now.

Ukbentley · 24/12/2020 23:21

Hi stace I'm so sorry to hear that your placenta never moved and also I know you didn't want a section, try not to worry to much about the weight as I was told for over 9 weeks that my baby was 4lb 8 to 5lb and he was 7lb 1 at 37 weeks so it can be off I was really shocked when I seen him as I had a previous baby at 5lb,after a couple of days for it all to sink in you will be able to get your head around it and plan for what's now happening,I know how you feel,it's hard,if your needing any advice about your section ect I'm here anytime is it can be daunting not knowing much about it,what to pack ect,I'm sure your baby girl will be absolutely perfect and it's not ideal having to stay in hospital but maybe that extra bit of time just to relax maybe will bring baby's weight up and for you to have plenty of rest so your body will heal quicker after surgery x

StaceImpactWfan · 25/12/2020 15:02

Merry Christmas, hope you're having a good one.

I think my main concern is being in hospital 10 days before I have her with covid going around.

That and being bored due to no visitors.

Looking forward to the time away doing nothing though and just chilling catching up on shows etc xx

Ukbentley · 25/12/2020 16:53

Merry Christmas, remember everyone gets tested before coming in I know that's the way it worked in Scotland anyway, earphones and earplugs and eye mask will be a must I would say

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 25/12/2020 20:00

Yeah I'm being tested tomorrow before I go in on Sunday.

I'm trying to make a list of things to pack as now I need to pack more due to the 10 + days stay x

Ukbentley · 26/12/2020 13:20

Remember too to bring plenty snack ect juice in a little cool bag if you have one and that someone can drop things off to you to eat even if it just at the door and midwife will take it in to you and also someone can drop off spare clothes and extra stuff, also I order some 5lb stuff off Asda online and it was really cheap and if you don't use it you can take it back x

OP posts:
Ukbentley · 26/12/2020 13:28

Also stace in case I don't get to speak to you again with signal ect,ask for WiFi code keep asking and they will give you it,and get some soft mints and extra strong mints and make sure you leave hospital with a bottle of lactulose for constipation as it is quite bad after a c section and this is what they give you in hospital, after you're section of what they are giving you after spinal block wears off is not working ask for some liquid morphine and make sure you get a prescription for dihydrocodeine to take home with you along with ibrufen and paracetamol and the lactulose as this will make such a difference for you,it has for me this time the first one for me was horrendous as i never asked for anything to take home and this time has been a million times better still sore but better, take care try not to worry too much soon you will have your beautiful little girl and this will all be over good luck x

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 27/12/2020 08:35

Thank you so much for the help. Luckily my phone has pretty much unlimited Internet so I should be OK. But I'll deffo ask for the WiFi. Hoping my partner is allowed to help carry my bags to the door as they are heavy. Just finishing packing then will be off x

StaceImpactWfan · 27/12/2020 08:36

Hope you and baby are well x

Ukbentley · 27/12/2020 09:33

Thanks,Take care and you will be fine enjoy the peace and quiet and let me know how you get on x

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 27/12/2020 11:06

I'm here, they put me on a ward to start with as I'm covid negative, but she said since I'm here for nearly 2 weeks they will give me a side room when one becomes available so not too bad. I don't know why I worry so much. The quiet will do me good. They showed me round, I only have to wear a mask when I'm out of the ward/room. May aswell make myself at home lmao.

Now ill be worrying about the section. Its not so much the section itself its more the spinal as I hate needles x
