@littlegem84 thank you, have just added you.

2019Mama · 25/06/2020 12:10

@Pinktruffle I managed to text her today and she rang me back saying she couldn’t get through to the hospital for my blood results yesterday.
It was a quick call she booked in my 28 week appt told me my midwife from my first pregnancy will be back of maternity so I’ll be having her from July 🙌🏻
And told me to book my whooping cough injection which I already got yesterday 😂

Murphy1999 · 25/06/2020 12:14

Hey has anyone spoke about getting maternity tights ? I got advised to get them from the midwife but really unsure what ones to buy or even if there any good? At the moment I don't wear anything long to cover them I wear my cycling shorts on a daily basis because I can't cope with the heat! Any help would be greatly appreciated x

Pink15 · 25/06/2020 14:33

@Murphy1999 I got some from Dorothy Perkins but they really aren't that big and would be surprised if they last until 9 months lol. I think maternity leggings may be a good alternative. Can I just ask why did the midwife advise you to get some? For a medical reason?

MillieFTM · 25/06/2020 14:37

Hi all, just back from 20 week scan...and its a GIRL 💞 still can't really believe I'm having a baby, let alone a girl! Was so convinced it would be a boy!
Baby was not being very cooperative and sonographer had to work pretty hard to get baby to turn over!

Murphy1999 · 25/06/2020 14:42

@Pink15 yes for medical reasons, I've been dealing with reallly bad back ache so until I get an appointment at the physio I've to try them

FilthyforFirth · 25/06/2020 16:42

Had an early scan today, 18+1 and it is a boy!! Which seems quite rare for this thread! I have also changed hospitals so my 20 week scan has been bought forward 5 days to 9th July.

It felt like a boy, in that it felt very same to my past pregnancy with my son, so no real shock here. Trouble is we only agree on a girls name! So lots more discussions on the horizon...

eleanorsos · 25/06/2020 16:55

Gosh every time I make it back to this thread it's nearly time for another one! So happy for everyone and their scans, loads of girls it seems! Hope you're all coping OK with the heat, difficult enough to get comfortable at night!

I've got mine tomorrow morning and a little apprehensive without DH but here's hoping for more good news 🙂

Addler · 25/06/2020 17:40

I feel like we need a list to keep track of everyone's EDD and what they're having if they know, there's so many of us

NS34 · 25/06/2020 19:04

I had my 20 week scan today and we are also having a girl. I have a very excited step daughter but 10 year old step son is a little disappointed not to be getting a brother Grin I have to have scans at 32 and 36 weeks due to a BMI of 33 but all good apart from that.

MrsR87 · 25/06/2020 19:42

Hi all. I am exactly 20 weeks today and had my 20 week scan this morning. I was nervous to see if baby was growing properly as this is the risk with my low PAPP-A levels, but thankfully baby is currently growing exactly as it should !

Plus, I found out that we're having a little boy! 🥰

I could believe the detail you could see on the scan this time! Amazing😀

OurLittlePumpkin1991 · 25/06/2020 21:06

Omg I'm so excited for everyone who has had scans! Congrats!! Starting to see some more boys pop up but it's definitely girl dominated so far! I'm adamanent mine will be a boy. Lovely hearing the news. I'm so nervous for mine on Monday, it's at half 9.

OurLittlePumpkin1991 · 25/06/2020 21:15

Also just need to rant my neighbour smokes like a frickin chimney and it's really annoying me. I was in the garden last night and had to come in as the smoke was unbearable. I'm now lying in bed with the window open and she's out the front of the house smoking and it's coming through the window. It's been like this the whole pregnancy and I just wanna tell at her! Anyway I won't I'll just silently rant to myself and on here lol!! Hate smoke espesh when pregnant!! Angry

OurLittlePumpkin1991 · 25/06/2020 21:16

I meant yell not tell!!

MrsR87 · 25/06/2020 21:28

@OurLittlePumpkin. Eurgh! That would annoy me too!

LozEliza · 26/06/2020 10:34

I had my 20 weeks scan yesterday. All well and confirmed a girl. Unfortunately she wasn't able to see the base of her spine due to the position and apparently no re-scans due to COVID. She did reassure me though she saw it from two other angles and didn't see anything that struck her as out of place 🤷🏻‍♀️

SqidgeBum · 26/06/2020 10:40

No rescans? My sonographer said multiple times that she may have to 'get me back in again' as my baby was acting up and she struggled to get measurements. I am also going back at 32 weeks to check whether my placenta has moved as I have placenta previa. Surely it's a medical necessity that they check things. That's bizarre.

HarrietM87 · 26/06/2020 11:07

Yes I think that’s really bad! But it seems to be the policy in my hospital too. I’m sure if there were any actual concerns they would have you back though @LozEliza.

My hospital used to offer 35 week scans as they were doing a study into placental sufficiency and it was so nice in my first pregnancy - I got a 3D scan of my baby’s face. They’ve scrapped them due to covid so I might book a private one for around 32 weeks this time as I’m also keen to find out where my placenta ends up.

OurLittlePumpkin1991 · 26/06/2020 11:36

Has anyone had to remove their wedding band and engagement ring? My wedding finger has got really dry so I took the rings off and went to put them back on and they don't fit 😳👀🤣 thought this would happen later on as I'm only 20+1 but maybe it's something to do with the heat combined with pregnancy?

HarrietM87 · 26/06/2020 11:46

I’d say it’s heat related Pumpkin. I remember taking mine off around my due date last time but that was in April 2018 when there was a big heatwave and it had been quite cold up to then. The joys of being pregnant over the summer 😬

eleanorsos · 26/06/2020 12:06

Adding to the scan news, another healthy baby girl here!! So happy but a bit of a conundrum as we had only agreed on a boy's name haha!

Anyone got names in mind already? X

SqidgeBum · 26/06/2020 13:26

My god so many girls! Its unbelievable!

We have a few names in our heads, and one in particular, so we have started to call bump by the name to see how we feel (although not around other people. We dont want to tell people around us what name we like). My issue is, my daughters name is Heather, and the name we have picked also begins with H. What are peoples opinions of siblings with names that start with the same letter? DH doesnt mind but I am not convinced.

Pink15 · 26/06/2020 13:32

@SqidgeBum I quite like siblings with the same initials however I think it depends if you want any more after this one, as if you do you may feel you need to use the same letter again which could prove difficult?

Oatmilk1 · 26/06/2020 13:43

Another girl here! Very excited but haven't even considered names.

Scan this morning showed slightly low placenta so being brought back in for a 36w scan to check that. Other than that everything is nice and average.

Addler · 26/06/2020 13:54

We've got a few girls' names we like and can agree on but not a single name for a boy! We're not going to find out what we're having so we'll see if the poor thing has a name before it turns one Hmm
