@BuffaloCauliflower I'm in hospitality so hard to place myself somewhere now really.
It's going to be really hard on one salary but we will just about get by, but I'll have to find work about 6 months after the baby even just part time.

NatalieH2220 · 22/06/2020 19:54

I've put on more than I should purely based on diet. I think I be around the stone mark too. I keep telling myself I'll start to eat better now the nausea has gone... and then I don't!

I also don't see why two of the same sex is seen as a bad thing. It took us a year to get pregnant with this little one. Of course I'm not upset it's 'another' boy!

BumpityBumpo · 22/06/2020 19:55

Mine and partners first child and my MIL's words "disappointed it's not a little girl as I already have a grandson but never mind, maybe the next one will be a girl"...

Next one?!!??! Steady on!

Sweetpea1985 · 22/06/2020 20:38

@BumpityBumpo my mum is pretty much the same, the whole family is obsessed with boys which is highly irritating.

OurLittlePumpkin · 22/06/2020 21:04

What vitamins is everyone taking? 🧐

noonaah · 22/06/2020 21:48

@ourlittlepumpkin the Morrisons pregnancy vitamins + omega 3, they are only £3 for a month’s supply.

Pink15 · 22/06/2020 21:51

I'm just taking vitamin D... but to be honest with the hot weather I've been a bit hit and miss taking it.

I'm desperate for a new bra now - I know it's a bad time to buy one as my boobs will keep changing but I'm sick of them popping out my bra! Does anyone have a good website they suggest to self measure? I remember someone on here seemed to have pretty Good knowledge!

HarrietM87 · 22/06/2020 21:58

Just vitamin D. It’s all you need unless you’ve got a bad diet.

HarrietM87 · 22/06/2020 22:03

@Pink15 I’ve got ones from M&S, H&M and John Lewis that don’t need you to measure - they come in S/M/L which I find useful because my boobs fluctuated a lot last time and I’m terrible at measuring myself. They might not be the best if your boobs are massive, but for reference I’ve gone from a C cup to id guess around DD and the medium fits well and is supportive. These are the John Lewis ones:

LozEliza · 22/06/2020 22:32

I'm just taking vitamin D when I remember. Normally on days when it's not been sunny.

I'm FTM and I've actually been having regular movements since 18 weeks so I feel really lucky! She seems to have a pattern of after dinner and then before bed. At first it felt like muscle twinges/stomach flips but now it very much feels like something kicking/poking me from the inside and squirming around. DH was lucky enough to feel a couple of kicks yesterday although most the time he still can't feel it and gets upset.

@bluebell2020 someone has just successfully claimed discrimination for having the exact same comment made to them by their line manager. www.peoplemanagement.co.uk/news/articles/nhs-worker-asked-if-her-pregnancy-was-planned-was-discriminated-against

Wise0wl · 22/06/2020 22:38

@HarrietM87 I told my employer last week (after I’d heard about my pay review!) and they were brilliant. It made me really regret all those sleepless nights worrying about it! Good luck 🙂

Sweetpea1985 · 22/06/2020 22:49

I'm considering getting a pregnancy pillow because I keep almost rolling onto my back in bed, but just how big are they? We have a kingsize bed but they look really big

wannabebump · 22/06/2020 22:55

@Sweetpea1985 I got an L shaped pregnancy pillow and we have a king size bed - I think the 12ft ones that you can get would just have been too big x

OP posts:
Sweetpea1985 · 22/06/2020 22:59

I have a v shaped one but its just not conjusive to getting comfortable for some reason.

Bluebell2020 · 22/06/2020 23:38

@LozEliza The irony because I also work for the NHS!!!!!

Whatinthename20 · 23/06/2020 06:11

I have the asda 12ft pillow (£20). Last night I woke up on my back though and I must have been asleep on my back for at least 3 to 4 hours. A bit worried. When are we actually not meant to be sleeping on our backs?
Im 18 weeks

Pink15 · 23/06/2020 08:16

@HarrietM87 Thankyou. Just out of interest when you're Brest feeding would you wear that type of bra to bed too or another kind?

OurLittlePumpkin · 23/06/2020 08:36

May have mentioned these before but www.bbhugme.com/ is incredible for support when sleeping and napping. I use mine to support me when sat on the sofa and I sleep with it, too. It's the most comfiest thing and has helped me tons with sciatica issues and hip pains. Tis on the pricey side of pillows however it can be used as a feeding pillow for bottle or bf babies and I can see myself using it even when I'm not pregnant, it's that comfortable!!

HarrietM87 · 23/06/2020 09:20

@Pink15 I think you can get sleep bras that are softer but I always just wore my nursing bras/nothing (I weirdly didn’t leak at all but most people do at the beginning so you probs need a bra/vest top to keep breast pads in place). In my last pregnancy I bought I think 4 of those type and then got measured properly after my milk had come in and size had settled, and bought 2 more in my proper size. Those 6 bras did me for 13 months of bf! They were pretty worn by the end!

wannabebump · 23/06/2020 09:52

I went for a gender scan this morning and it's a boy! Just the 20 week scan later this week (my nhs trust don't tell you the sex) and then I'm ready to go shopping! X

Am I being irrational about getting annoyed about this?
Every single day I get the message from my mum, hows the baby?
Gee mum I dont know, let me get my ultra sound scanner out so we can see shall we?
I get shes intrested in her welfare, but every single day?!

OurLittlePumpkin · 23/06/2020 10:50

Congratulations @wannabebump how lovely a little boy. What a clear picture!!
How did you find out that they don't tell you the sex at your trust? Worried I haven't asked mine and that they won't offer it 😯

wannabebump · 23/06/2020 11:21

@OurLittlePumpkin when I went for the 12 week scan there were signs up in the waiting room saying they didn't reveal gender.

Got lots of pictures and they are so clear! Glad it was quite clear for gender x

@Sweetpea1985 my mom did a similar thing on my last pregnancy. I have a brilliant relationship with my mom, we get along really well, but even after my DD was born she constantly asked about her and never about me. Even when I said I was having a horrible day she would say 'ah ok. So how is -'?'. I actually felt like I was just a carrier of grandchildren and I no longer mattered. I spoke to her about it eventually and she realised what she was doing. If it continues to get worse or really bug you I would speak to your mom about it. Usually grandparents are just so excited they dont realise.

Dee96 · 23/06/2020 16:59

Hi all just place making on here due early/mid Nov and joining the baby girl gang 💖 congrats to all the gender reveals 😊
