Ah ok I know someone was mentioning it and I wasn't sure if it was you sorry xx

Indigogirl88 · 23/05/2020 00:22

Loving all this talk I started on the Fanta Lemon it was heaven @Quiffy

Bought a large bottle of Sprite as well and that is also amazing, deffo having the girl typical cravings now, but can still devour carbs and cheese Grin

Dp has been better today im not sure if hes totally on board yet so just giving him space and been watching breastfeeding YouTube videos.

Yeah work wise she asked me what my initial thoughts are re finishing so I said I'd try to work as long as possible. Loads of peoples holidays are stacking up so i said I was planning to take 2 weeks holiday. She also asked me how long I was thinking of taking off, so I decided to keep it casual. She even said, I know some women only take 2 weeks off!? I was like no. Just no. I think after the shock has settled in should be ok next week I'm dying to announce in Facebook though but cant as some work colleagues follow me. Not sure if we are doing a gender reveal as dp wants to keep gender to ourselves...

Baby kicking more tonight Grin

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 06:59

Heartburn is horrible that and baby moving woke me up this morning I know I'll not be able to get back to sleep now still it's an improvement on 2amor 4am!! Xx

Zaalfruit · 23/05/2020 07:25

Morning all,

@BooMamaBear how do we tackle heart burn mine is bad and I always feel full . Even though I eat out really small bowls a serving plates currently just put me off.

Hope this weekend is good - been having dreams that dh is cheating on me - my dreams feel so real , in my dream I randomly saw on his Apple Watch it popped up missing you and can’t wait till lock down is over. Going mad over a dream feel like waking him up . Might be me feeing insecure my dh is into fitness and having a lean body since lock down he has become more leaner reaching personal goal of under 8% body fat - I have never had a lean body , always curvy and petite with thighs - but now I just feel big and really sad 😔 my body fat says 40% which seems crazy high.

I dunno why I am feeling paranoid -just feel silly even writing about it. Might be because the other day he said woah you look big sheepishly , and then walked away .

On another note as I can’t sleep been looking online ;
Emmas diary and bounty have put up lots of bank holiday offers if anyone is interested. I saw a cute Moses basket - however is it still to early to buy one? Also anyone have any cons about the Moses basket?

Spark27 · 23/05/2020 07:52

Morning guys.

Hi @Zaalfruit, probably best to discuss it with DH when he wakes. Not in a questioning way, more to make him aware of where your feelings and head are at. He might not have been aware that you picked up on the weight/size thing, and he probably meant it positively (like wow, you're amazing, theres a baby in there) but it's good to be on the same page. Then if you do have an emotional outburst at some point he'll understand where it's coming from.

We've got a Moses basket as my sister gave it to me (it was the one I bought for her when she had my nephew. We get a new mattress everytime). They are really cute, and handy for when they are little. But the length of time you can use them varies greatly. DD only fit in hers for about 12 weeks. They are easy to move around the house quickly. I had a friend who used a moses basket upstairs and then used the pram top downstairs in the day.

I suppose it depends on what you want and can afford. Theres usually lots of 2nd hand baskets for sale, and you can get a new mattress for about £15 on Amazon xx

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 08:00

@Zaalfruit eating and rennies are the only way I'm dealing with heartburn!!
I keep having really vivid dreams some are about the baby, one was where she was rushed off straight after birth to NICU but no one would tell me why snd i didn't get to see her -some were about random everyday things rhat are so vivid and random that I'm not sure if they actually happened!
I've never used a Moses basket before I used a Snuz Pos with DD but as our bed is lower I'll be using a Moses basket this time- I won one from Aldi with a stand, mattress and bed sheets on a random FB competition -it's never been used. as. DD was too big when I won it- it looks lovely!
I heard that an Ikea one had termites in once or some sort of wood boring insect! Xx

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 08:03

@Spark27 -I think I'll use the Snuz pod down stairs as when it's off the stand it has a curved bottom so it can rock -definitely good to have a option downstairs for naps isn't it!! Xxx

Zaalfruit · 23/05/2020 08:08

Ahh thank you @Spark27 I think I will have a chat with him. I need to tell him , I think it really hurt my feelings . Not even sure why maybe just hormonal.

Moses basket sounds really practical as our house Is a bit impractical 3 storey - bedroom is the loft room and bottom floor is living and dining and middle is a bathroom and an office . ( Want to convert the office into a bedroom but dh wants to do works in August / September which I think Is cutting it fine ). Also Trying to be so frugal and save as much as possible to show dh that I can take a year off work and not have to be completely reliant on him.

Deffo might look into getting it second hand - ahh that’s handy that your sister gave it to you and so cute that it’s been used by the cousins. 3 months doesn’t sound to bad for the first bed location - any one finding locations to place items in the bedroom is a game of Tetris ?

Quiffy · 23/05/2020 08:13

@BntTowers it's hard, as soon as we're allowed to have in household I'm getting my parents over. They've been isolating (bar my dad shopping once a week as hone deliveries don't exist in their town). I'm used to speaking to them for an hour every day so desperate to see. I'd go with what you feel comfortable with - I'm certainly not wanting to meet anyone else this soon.

@BooMamaBear ooo not seen in morrisons although we never seem to get things like that. Spent 6 months looking for orange Twirls. Santa bought me some for Christmas - only ate 3 and then fell pregnant and don't like chocolate now hehe 😂 santa aka DH is annoyed as they were expensive online and I won't let him eat them either.

I've been drinking a lot of diet irn bru - seems to help with nausea a bit too! I'm SO excited about my fanta lemon on the way.

@Zaalfruit hope you're okay, understand you feeling that way but I'm sure he didn't mean it badly. I'd tell him you're feeling insecure. You're growing his child which is amazing ❤️

I'm with you on weird dreams. This morning I was dreaming about collecting baby from hospital (apparently a stork must have brought it 🤔) and when I got there my dh, parents and other people I know were just singing. No one would give me my baby. I woke up raging with the song they were singing on Spotify, so must have been aware of it in my dream 😹

Zaalfruit · 23/05/2020 08:19

@BooMamaBear just saw to it post - omg about termites in the wood deffo have to google that ! Eek that would scare me - even clothes that I place on the washing line had to be beaten before bringing into the bedroom incase of creepy bugs and insects .

I think I will get snuzpod3 for the bedroom lots of positive reviews !

Aww your dreams sound so scary - I think it’s our fears projected into our dream. Don’t worry your baby is safe in and will be safe when out.

@Quiffy sounds like you were in a musical - yep deffo all our dreams are our insecurities , just googled it and apparently it’s really common in pregnant women to have vivid dreams and remember them due to us waking up at a certain point during our Rem sleep . What song is stuck in your brain - mine is that weird tik tok song I love you baby 🤣😂

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 08:26

When I was on my back the other night my DH came in saying woah you're big!! I thought my tummy looked flatter when I laid down except my boobs I don't think I've put weight anywhere else so I hope he was talking about my bump! I think you're DH meant your bump @Zaalfruit but yes as the others have said talk to him so he knows how you're feeling! Xx

Quiffy · 23/05/2020 08:28

@zaalfruit it was Books from Boxes, I was getting SO mad hehe. Definitely felt like the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I’m really keen on the Snuzpod 3, I’d like the espresso one. Most I’ve seen secondhand have been £130 plus postage and I’d need a mattress, so think I’ll buy that new. There’s some really good ones on eBay if you’re close to any collection ones - some as low as £50 in great condition.

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 08:33

I loved the snuz pod coz it's wood not metal I didn't like some of the bedside cots with metal bars on and it's got a canvas zip up side that you can see through if you don't want to attach it to your bed! It has a removable stand too you can unclip and lift it off the stand and it has a curved bottom! Xx

Indigogirl88 · 23/05/2020 08:36

Hi ladies I went to sleep at 1 and woke up at 6 so been googling wraps with a cuppa.

@Zaalfruit read your post and I'm exactly the same story, dp is super confident and into fitness, in short curvy and feeling all sorts of fatty. I would speak to him. I've also realised this morning we havent dtd for 2 weeks, which is worrying me (weve been pretty much the same pre pregnancy up till now) he might look elsewhere. Which I know is ridiculous

I'm looking at the next to me crib and looking to see if I'll get a hand me down moses for downstairs, my sister is buying us the sleepyhead which I'll use for the sofa naps Grin

One thing I would say is I'm feeling much more bonded with baby since the scan her little kicks nearly bring me to hormone tears every time Star

What's everyone planning today? Think we might go for a dog walk

otterbaby · 23/05/2020 08:54

@Indigogirl88 we've bought the next 2 me crib, I've heard really good things about it! And love that I can basically be face to face with her without worrying about co-sleeping.

Woke up about 3:30am to the neighbours playing loud music next door Envy and then couldn't go back to sleep because baby was being so active. On the bright side, we're painting the baby's room today!!! Can't wait to get it done and start buying the bigger items.

FourPlasticRings · 23/05/2020 08:58

We got our Moses basket from here last time:

www.google.com/amp/s/amp.direct.asda.com/george/baby/moses-baskets-stands/D5M11G1C10,default,sc.html

Really inexpensive and lasts ages because it's about twice the size of the mama and papa ones.

The next 2 me is nice and we'll use it again, but mine never really slept in it. Because it's so big they can feel quite insecure. Ended up co-sleeping with mine after falling asleep holding her a few times.

FourPlasticRings · 23/05/2020 09:00

@otterbaby that's rubbish, do they play music at such times often?

Treaclepie19 · 23/05/2020 09:07

We're having a next to me again. Got on really well with it last time and our ds wouldn't sleep in a moses basket at all.

Today's plans are sorting out the spare room for our 4yo to move in so we can start getting the baby's room ready.

OP posts:
FourPlasticRings · 23/05/2020 09:14

@Indigogirl88 2 weeks is nothing, don't worry. I very rarely feel like it at all during pregnancy- we go around six months without sex! If he's even half decent he'll realise it's a temporary thing and wouldn't want to have sex anyway if you weren't into it.

@Zaalfruit definitely Rennies. Saved me in my first pregnancy, but I've not gotten heartburn yet this time. Supposedly lots of heartburn means you'll have a baby with lots of hair!

FourPlasticRings · 23/05/2020 09:17

What colour are you going for @otterbaby

We're going for a little walk with DD today and DH is going to get her little patio and raised flowerbed sorted so she can do some planting and play with the water table we're giving her for her birthday. Smile

LexiM · 23/05/2020 09:21

@Zaalfruit definitely speak to your husband. Very early on I said to mine that things I usually find fine I may not when pregnant and that it wasn’t a good idea to comment if/when I put on weight as it would make me paranoid. So far most days I love my bump and feel fine but I do worry about later on as I get bigger.

We are going for a snuzpod or next to me upstairs then a pram that can be used for sleeping too downstairs. So many of my friends said their baby never used the Moses basket or grew out of it too quickly, so we aren’t going to bother.

@otterbaby how annoying of your neighbours, people like that really irritate me. I hope it’s better tonight for you.

I have signed up to the free breastfeeding antenatal class online with blossom antenatal. Have no idea how good it’s going to be but thought I’d take advantage while these things are free at the moment. I’m doing it in a couple of weeks.

@Indigogirl88 I agree with you on the kicks, it’s such a wonderful feeling. You just have to tell your work exactly what you want and not let them make you feel bad. I have no idea how anyone would function going back to work after 2 weeks, I’m sure it will take me more than that just to get my head round the fact I have a baby.

Indigogirl88 · 23/05/2020 09:24

Ooops spent £30 at Sainsburys clothing, I think that's pretty good and pretty restrained, THE cutest outfits Grin

Zaalfruit · 23/05/2020 09:36

Ahh thank you every will speak to dh once he wakes up - he went to sleep at 5 am was playing PS4 and watching tv .

We haven’t done the deed in so long - I think maybe that’s also contributing to it - but I just feel so unattractive about it all .

The snuzpod3 is deffo number one on my list - just looks so flush and will go well with my bedroom .

@FourPlasticRings I saw the one on the George website deffo looks a little bigger then some of them . Also in total only weight 5-6kg which is perfect the max I can lift is 7kg/8kg I’m worried how I will get the strength to carry baby 😂 maybe my super powers will kick in . My 2 year old niece loves been carried if I lift her I feel sweat and my arms giving out 😂🤣

@Indigogirl88 I don’t understand how people go back after two weeks - sometimes after a long holiday I feel tired for the next few weeks so let alone pushing a baby out . Whatever magic they are taking I need some.

@Quiffy what a song 😂😂 I just listened to it and now it will be in my head .😂😂 you have to leaveeee I appreciate that .

FourPlasticRings · 23/05/2020 09:40

@Zaalfruit you'd be amazed. Because their weight increases so slowly you do tend to keep pace with it. That said, try to use both arms equally- I went with the strongest arm once DD could hold herself up enough to be carried with one and now I'm a total weakling on the other!

Buzz22 · 23/05/2020 09:57

Fellow heartburn sufferer here. I find gaviscon liquid or similar works better than the rennie tablets for me. I can hardly eat anything without heartburn coming on! DP has lovely thick hair so we'll see if shes a hairy baby!

@otterbaby how annoying. Are your neighbours usually noisy? Good luck with the decorating today!

@Indigogirl88 we are going to go on a nice long dog walk today too. It's a bit blustery here though!

I'm still not feeling any movement. Feel like I'm the inot one here who hasn't yet! My placenta is high so they said I would feel baby low down but I cant distinguish anything yet.
I'm 20 weeks +1 today and bump finally looks like it's making a slow appearance!
