Just catching up on a few days worth of posts!!

Congrats everyone on your scans and lovely scan pics!!!

Just seen the comments about what bits you'll be buying, I'm a nanny and the family I work for had a Doona car seat. It was amazing. Turns into a pram and so easy to get in and out of the car. Wouldn't use as main pram as it only lasts as long as the baby can fit in the car seat but it's good as a car seat and for maybe an occasional pram. They are pretty expensive though but seen some on eBay which are reasonably priced.

I have a private scan booked today, my 20 week is next week but because partner isn't allowed next week I thought we would book private to find out together. So excited! Must have only had a few hours sleep!!

Xx

Morning girls! I’ve suffered heartburn from around 9 weeks and I swear by Peptac liquid! Comes in mint or aniseed. I just drink out the bottle as and when required. I can’t wait to set up my snuzpod 3, I bought it new with lots with it from online4baby - defo recommend looking there first. @Zaalfruit it’s great having this forum as we defo seem to go thru similar things at same time! I haven’t DTD for a month and tbh can’t see it happening anytime soon! This increased discharge and having to wear pantyliners defo doesn’t help! Feel v unattractive and self conscious. Need to get back to my work out routine, been slacking since so busy learning new role for work (over Skype call) which is v difficult and demanding at times! xx

Treacle81 · 23/05/2020 10:46

Good luck with scan ❤️*@AutumnBabyWinterMummy*

roarfeckingroar · 23/05/2020 10:50

Morning everyone!

I had my 20 week scan this morning and everything is looking good with baby 😁. I have an anterior placenta which explains why I haven't felt too much, so that's a relief. Such a gorgeous day today and the world feels wonderful.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 23/05/2020 10:52

@Treacle81 thank you 😊 I will let you all know how it went afterwards!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 23/05/2020 10:53

@roarfeckingroar congrats on the scan going well this morn!! X

Buzz22 · 23/05/2020 10:57

@roarfeckingroar congrats on scan this morning!

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy good luck with scan today! So nice your partner can go with you

Glitterbug86 · 23/05/2020 11:00

@Buzz22 after dinner, try sitting down for a while and resting your hands either side of your belly from around the height of your belly button down. Most of the movements I felt first were with my hands (would feel slight sensations of something moving around underneath) and not from inside oddly enough. I have a high placenta too. I also felt a few little spasms but took me a while to recognise what they were! Worth a try. I'm sure you'll start to feel them soon enough anyways 😊

Glad you're starting to see bump also. I'm guessing you might be a bit of a gym bunny? If so, your ab muscles would hold baby in more making bump appear smaller/show later.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy good luck and enjoy your scan, exciting to find out together 😀

Glitterbug86 · 23/05/2020 11:02

@roarfeckingroar congrats 🥰

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 23/05/2020 11:02

@Buzz22 oh thank you, and by the sounds of it we are lucky the place allows partners to come.

I'm going to baby ultrasound clinic and think they have a few locations more in the north of the UK if anyone struggling to find somewhere that accepts partners xx

FourPlasticRings · 23/05/2020 11:06

Congratulations on your scan @roarfeckingroar!

otterbaby · 23/05/2020 11:08

@FourPlasticRings they're usually pretty good, I could tell something was up when I saw a 48 pack of cider being delivered to their house yesterday afternoon 🙄

We're going with a light grey! Not really doing a theme but it's turning out to be grey/mustard yellow/sage green.

@roarfeckingroar lovely news, glad to hear it x

Treacle81 · 23/05/2020 11:11

Aww great news 💙 xx @roarfeckingroar

Buzz22 · 23/05/2020 11:13

@Glitterbug86 thank you for the tips! I'll try this evening after dinner. I'm trying not to be too concerned as I obviously saw her having a kick around yesterday at the scan.
I ride horses (pre pregnancy) and do a fair bit of yoga which has definitely given me some strong core muscles. I think the bump is still being held in at the top by muscle but is popping at the bottom now. Especially at the end of the day.
It's amazing what a variety of shapes and sizes bumps come in.

I was wondering when everyone was next having a midwife appointment? It seems to vary from place to place. I think most of us seemed to have a telephone appointment at 16 weeks. I know they say with first baby you usually see them at 25 weeks? But my midwife said she'd ring me next week at 22ish weeks and I wont see her again till 28 weeks. I do see the consultant again for cervix scan in 2 weeks time though.

Indigogirl88 · 23/05/2020 11:29

@Buzz22 lovely photo and you have an amazing figure!
My midwife has booked an app for 24 weeks but said depending whether lockdown is over might be on the phone again, so when I went for my scan I pushed for a blood pressure and urine check and they did it after the scan at the hospital

@roarfeckingroar awww I feel like I'm in that bliss today as well been cleaning this morning so I feel I can chill for the day now

Zaalfruit · 23/05/2020 12:51

@Buzz22 such a cute pic . You look like you have an amazing figure !! I can’t feel baby flutters or if I do I always feel like it’s gas bubbles. You deffo have good core muscles!

I think all of my upcoming appointments are over the phone I do wish they would see us
More often it will help us be at peace more !

Congratulations @roarfeckingroar!!!

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy ooh you must be looking forward to it - I get so excited and anxious just before the scan!

Spoke to dh about dream he was so annoying about it saying I’m over reacting and it was a statement of the obvious and did I not think my stomach will be getting bigger and how much commitment is having a baby.

Treacle81 · 23/05/2020 12:57

I’m one very happy person, look what partner surprised me with... so sweet of him 🤩🍸🙌🏻 xx

LostinAusten2 · 23/05/2020 13:10

Massivo congrats @roarfeckingroar 🥳🥰 - so relieved so many of us are getting there all clear.

And @treacle81 that is delightful. I was feeling v dodgy this morning and after all the Fanta Lemon chat on here I just had lucozade for the first time - has blown my mind - probably the first caffeine in 5 years and I feel /amazing/ 😄 Assume the sugar crash is going to hurt, but so so worth it 😎

NWnature · 23/05/2020 13:15

Yay so pleased @roarfeckingroar !

@buzz22 you have a lovely figure! I still can’t be sure twinges I’m feeling are the baby. My placenta is anterior too. Hopefully with time the kicks will be really obvious! I want my husband to feel them as I’m really sad he hasn’t been able to be at the scans I think it’s still all a bit surreal x

LexiM · 23/05/2020 13:25

@treacle81 looks good! That was lovely of him to get them for you.

@roarfeckingroar glad your scan went well and @AutumnBabyWinterMummy hope yours does too today.

@Buzz22 my next midwife appointment is 24 weeks at the surgery. I had my 16 week appointment in person too, so feel lucky. My midwife said they’ve only removed one appointment in person during Covid but slightly adjusted the dates of the other ones to make up for that. I think it’s later on though so instead of weeks 34, 36 and 38 it will be 35 and 38 only providing everything is ok.

Treacle81 · 23/05/2020 13:41

@Buzz22 my next mw appt is 11th June when I’ll be just under 24 wks, she says it’ll defo be face to face as 16 wk was over phone and she has to take urine and bloods xx

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 23/05/2020 13:44

@Zaalfruit thank you! It's not til half 4 so I'm trying to have a little nap to make it go quicker but just can't sleep far too excited! And men can be so weird sometimes and strangely defensive and not understand what they've said/ done wrong. I'm sure he didn't mean it in the wrong way but annoying that he can't just reassure you.

@Treacle81 they look delicious!!! How lucky!!!

@LexiM thank you!

X

Quiffy · 23/05/2020 14:08

@Zaalfruit such a good song, my fav band right now 😻. Your OH is definitely been annoying, has he not heard about saying you're blossoming and looking wonderful. Not big!

I agree with @Buzz22 the liquid gaviscon is the best I've found to work. Tmi it makes me burp which makes me feel SO much better

@roarfeckingroar yay on scan. Good luck today @AutumnBabyWinterMummy 😻

My next midwife appointment is at 22 weeks at a clinic so in person.

We're having a fake bbq date night, so I was steaming potatoes for potato salad and forgot about it. One of the cats was through like skippy the kangaroo miaowing as the water had all left and the kitchen was full of smoke 🙄. Oops.

roarfeckingroar · 23/05/2020 14:37

Thanks everyone 😘

CouscousEvaporator · 23/05/2020 14:49

Congratulations @roarfeckingroar!
I also have an anterior placenta.
Oddly I can feel everything though.

Trying to catch up on all the messages I’ve missed! Craving a Fanta now!
