Morning girls! Offt I had the worst sleep ever, just too hot, felt itchy, had heartburn and just could not get comfortable at all!!! Hope that isn’t gonna be a recurrent thing now! @AutumnBabyWinterMummy I really find that putting Vaseline inside my nostrils before bed helps greatly! Good luck again for scans @Buzz22 and @babymama09. I’m meeting friends today at a local park at lunch time and I’m very excited!!! Not seen them since middle of March!! xx

HerondaleDucks · 02/06/2020 09:29

Good luck for the scans today! Another beautiful sunny day!

Buzz22 · 02/06/2020 10:30

Well my 2nd attempt at 20 week scan was probably more unsuccessful than the first!
They still couldn't see heart or spine or measure abdomen.
Very unhelpful baby. She just curled up with her legs by her head and wrapped her arms round her legs. Even after another 20 minute walk, sugary iced coffee and plenty of shaking/jumping around.
I have cervical length scan with the consultant on Thursday afternoon, so they are hoping she will be able to see then.
Not helping my stress levels!!

babymama09 · 02/06/2020 10:32

Thanks for all the good luck wishes girls and good luck to @Buzz22 with your scan this morning.
I have had sharp pain on my right side this morning couldn't even put me clothes on after me shower. It's gone now. Braxton hicks have started to kick in and I feel soooo sick with nerves. Not til 13:50 so have a while to wait. Gotta see the midwife after it. We're nearly there girls.

I apologise but whose due date switched to 27th September that's the day after me sons 7th birthday.
I'm hoping they give me the date of c section but I doubt it. Anyone else get sharp pain lower side? X

babymama09 · 02/06/2020 10:34

@Buzz22 glad you got to c baby, awww at least you get to c her again Thursday. So happy all is well.

Treaclepie19 · 02/06/2020 10:36

@babymama09 yeah I get that sharp pain. The other day it was bad for ages. Ligament pain I believe.

I am so worn out I could cry. Im struggling so much with being a night owl. Come 7pm im wide awake and could stay up for ages and then in the morning when DS gets up at 5am I'm just so tired. Uuugh.

It's so uncomfortable isn't it @Treaclepie19. I honestly couldn't lift my leg. Had to shout dh to help me get dressed 😅😅😅 he made me laugh while doing it though

Spark27 · 02/06/2020 11:35

@babymama09 my EDD is the 27th Sep. And my DD will be 3 on the 29th Sep. So I'm hoping they dont double up! Although will save a fortune on birthday parties in the future!

Novmom · 02/06/2020 12:35

Hi lovely ladies Need your help. Can you please share if anyone had low value of NT (less than 1 mm) and baby gender

FourPlasticRings · 02/06/2020 13:10

@Novmom, you'll need to start your own thread on the pregnancy board. Scroll to the top of this thread, click where it says pregnancy and it should take you to the pregnancy board. Then click add thread along the bottom. You'll get a wider range of people viewing it that way.

Zaalfruit · 02/06/2020 13:31

The baby comes 24th of September they will have the same bdays. I’m keeping my legs crossed for October . Any one else got a scan for 33 weeks I just Got one randomly
Through The post.

BntTowers · 02/06/2020 13:51

@Buzz22 so naughty of baby to keep to themselves!

@babymama09 good luck to your scan.

I am pretty sure I'm starting to feel a bit of movement occasionally now. DH desperately wants to feel it, but it's not quite big enough yet. I think we are going to do some research and book a private scan tonight as we've been talking to people he is starting to feel like he is missing out on seeing baby.

I also have a bit of a conundrum going on, 8.5 weeks ago I ordered some wall stickers for the nursery they said delivery within 2-4 weeks, after 4 weeks nothing and they said after 6 weeks due to Covid. At 6.5 weeks I asked if there's an update as to when and was told they were lost in the post and they offered me a refund, I waited until 7.5 weeks and said yes please to the refund (still hoping they would turn up within that time), they processed the refund that day. And now 8.5 weeks later I have just had the sticker through my postbox. I can't just keep them to put in the nursery I would feel awful, I either need to email them and say I've received these, can I please pay you or just send them back and order some other ones which I have my eye on and think that now they are actually here I may like more.

FourPlasticRings · 02/06/2020 15:00

@Buzz22 I imagine it's very stressful, but will be a lovely story to tell when she's older.

@Treaclepie19 Have you tried a pregnancy relaxation audio track? The type with visualisations etc. I use the pregnancy relaxation one by Maggie Howell and very rarely get to hear the end! Last night I started listening at eight- lasted about five minutes before dozing off.

Zaalfruit · 02/06/2020 15:02

@BntTowers did this happen with amazon , it happened to me recently I emailed them and they said it’s fine keep them- I was willing to post them back or place them in an amazon Locker for pick up. Yeah I feel guilt like that - just email them best thing .

Deffo book a scan I got one lined up for July so dh can feel a part of it ( Father’s Day gift from womb) he wants to feel kicks to - I barely feel them so I’m not sure to get him to feel them .

I can’t seem to work today - got so much to do , but all I can think about is tasting strawberry Fanta that I saw on Instagram and having fat chips from the chippy .

Spark27 · 02/06/2020 15:16

@BntTowers you're a better person than me. I'd keep them. Haha. Well, if it was a small company I'd email, but if it was a big one I'd keep them. Depending on whether you signed for them/they were recorded. Then I'd definitely email as I'd be scared of having a baby in jail. Lol!

@Zaalfruit with DD I was initially due 9th Oct, then moved to 3rd Oct. Then I was induced and had her on 29th Sep. The good thing was I didnt have to deal with all the 'are you in labour yet' messages.

If the scan place nearer me opens, and DD is still settled in nursery in July I'm going to book a private scan so DH can come with

otterbaby · 02/06/2020 15:19

@Zaalfruit strawberry Fanta is amazing, would love some right now 😩

Treaclepie19 · 02/06/2020 15:31

@FourPlasticRings that's a good idea thanks! I'll give it a go tonight. I really need an early night.

OP posts:
AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 02/06/2020 16:04

@Zaalfruit oh thanks I'll try the salt spray

@Quiffy yes I'm also fine all day but as soon as bedtime im just all bunged up!! My partner keeps going to the spare room because of my snoring!! "Snorting like a pig for air" 😂😂

@Treacle81 oh yes I tried that last night and sort of helped maybe I think!
And hope you had fun with your friends!!

@Buzz22 aw little stubborn baby 💕

@babymama09 I sometimes get sharp pains in lower section. Sometimes I also think baby is just in an uncomfortable funny position.

@BntTowers this happened with me but with like a £4 item, big company. I didn't say anything! The worst thing is even after refunding me they sent the item again, so I had 2 of the same items!

NWnature · 02/06/2020 17:41

Ohh @Buzz22 that cheeky little baby! Going to be a flexible yoga guru by the sounds of it!

LexiM · 02/06/2020 18:29

Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been quiet.

The NHS scan went well, baby was well behaved and they got all the measurements they needed in and out in 30 minutes. Must be that full fat coke I had 😂 it’s definitely team 💙💙 - both scans said there’s no mistaking it!! I feel glad they could confirm for sure. We are the first to have a boy as our first born in his generation and our generation so that’s nice. It was funny because the private sonographer said “well the genders obvious then” - showed us the area and moved on. Whilst that made it quite obvious after we left both my husband and I said we were glad just as we finished he said “definitely a boy” as we felt stupid asking for clarification 😂😂

My husband wanted to keep it a secret so I had to pretend not only that we didn’t know but that my husband hadn’t been to a scan as originally we said we would only find out the gender if he could go to a scan. I’ve been squirming on phone calls the last two days, thinking carefully about saying he, but after my husband was teasing me today we agreed to tell people! I said a few days before finding out that I actually wasn’t so bothered about finding out the sex but I’m thrilled we have, I already feel more of a bond than before knowing.

@Zaalfruit my husband was so disconnected from everything before we had the scan, he didn’t really want to talk about the baby and said he “didn’t know as he hadn’t seen it”. I expect your husband is similar but will come round once it’s here.

My friend who found out she’s having a girl and it’s her last child has offered us lots of clothes she saved in case this one was a boy too so that’s lovely.

@Treaclepie19 glad all was ok at your scan, I appreciate the confusion if they don’t say the sex 100%, I would be the same, although I guess this is always the case for girls.

@Buzz22 sounds like your baby is just too comfortable in there, hope you have better luck when you go again! It’s hard because you want baby to move enough to get the measurements but not so much they can’t either.

Treaclepie19 · 02/06/2020 18:34

So glad all went well @LexiM 😊

The whole not knowing thing is driving me nuts. I should never have asked because now we've started referring to baby as she and occasionally DH has called her the name we had chosen. I even ordered the letter to go on the nursery door and cancelled it because I realised it might be thrown away.
I'm not good at not knowing but not knowing at all would be better than half knowing. I'm a prepper so wanted to get a start on the personalised stuff the same as I did for our 4yo.

Hey ho! A private scan is out because we can't have childcare and I'm not going alone when its not that close to us and I'm not even sure where exactly it is.

BntTowers · 02/06/2020 20:08

@Zaalfruit @Spark27 I've ended up sending an email saying that I have just received the items and asking what's the next step in regards to payment. They were from a company called Mimi Bear so I will wait and see what they say. I don't think I could keep them and not say anything.

@Treaclepie19 my DH keeps calling baby he, we aren't finding out the sex and it's starting to annoy me, but today he seems to be just pissing me off tonight anyway.

@LexiM glad your scan went well.

HerondaleDucks · 02/06/2020 20:30

Really really recommending TheHonestMidwife on Instagram and to do her online antenatal classes at www.letstalkbirthandbaby.co.uk/

She is really down to earth. Did the second session today and it covered any complications around birth.
Its put a lot of my anxieties at ease. Inductions seem bloody awful though, lots of sitting around waiting about. Really hope I don't need one, but with my high risk of gestational diabetes still on the cards, it might be likely. Find out on the 11th whether I am or not, so that will be helpful.

Looking forward to session 3 we are doing in a couple of weeks about feeding. She is going cover formula and breast. So I will feel a lot better informed.

otterbaby · 02/06/2020 20:40

Glad to hear the scans today went well! And good luck for those having them tomorrow. @Buzz22 mine was the same at my rescan, doesn't bode well for those of us with stubborn babies already!

Has anyone started thinking about Father's Day? I'm going to get my DH a baby grow with a band logo he likes on it and I've booked a private scan that day to surprise him with.

LostinAusten2 · 02/06/2020 21:42

Congrats @LexiM on the scan 🥰 And sorry @Buzz22, can imagine how annoying that is, but still lovely to see the baby - I second that comment above that career in yoga must be on the cards 😄

And @otterbaby that’s such a nice idea for Father’s Day! I’ve still got the fear around things not working out, so lots of things planned but not bought yet, maybe week 26 onwards... I think someone else on here bought a football strip for the baby coming home so my DH is über excited about that 😊
