@otterbaby such a pain! Was there anything they didn't get a look at during your scans?
I guess I'm lucky I'm seeing the consultant on Thursday so she can have a look...although it depends on baby being in a more helpful position I suppose?!

Yes I think we may have a future Yogi on our hands.... I think I attached this photo from my original 20 week scan a week ago? Legs above head and hands playing with her feet! Seems to be her preferred position! They didn't manage to get any clear photos of madam this time.

Indigogirl88 · 02/06/2020 22:32

Love that @otterbaby I've ordered a scan picture frame for mine and might get a baby grow or something. Hopefully it might cheer him up, hes been so off with me last couple of days...even though I've done nothing wrong, all I did was buy a breast pump he said I should have "run it past him" honestly amibu but I didnt think I needed to run a breast pump past him!?

BooMamaBear · 02/06/2020 23:22

Sorry they couldn't measure everything to put your mind at ease @Buzz22
Glad your scan went well @LexiM

Still feeling really full even when I know I'm not - and it seems to last ages - my bump is looking much bigger again it seems to grow every night I feel the size of a house and I've still got 18w and 5 more days to go!! Xx

Zaalfruit · 03/06/2020 04:53

I can’t sleep ☹️ I feel hot and big with needing to pee constantly. Fell asleep around 12.30ish and I am awake again - it’s making me get really anxious woke dh up as I can’t sleep which has placed him in a foul
Mood. On my left side my lower stomach feels so hard and hurts so much .

@HerondaleDucks I follow the Honestmidwife on ig - she is really good and gives great advice .

@otterbaby for Father’s Day - bump is giving her dad a photo album with her first few pictures along side a few bump updates of her growing bigger - the photo album does have our ttc journey pics aswell and I will
Book a private scan closer to the time pop the voucher in .

@LexiM congrats on the scan !
@Indigogirl88 they all being weird dh is the same - he was so mad yesterday saying it’s so unfair he can’t go to a scan ahh felt so bad for him .I try and avoid talking about the scan - he said his friends told him hearing the heart beat and seeing them wriggle about is the best feeling ever .

otterbaby · 03/06/2020 07:24

@Buzz22 luckily they got everything except the heart/chest at the first scan, but the second time I was there for ages because she was curled right up. Took a lot of coaxing to get her to unstretch! I know it's not our fault but I couldn't help but be a little embarrassed, the sonographer was starting to get a little tense Confused

@Indigogirl88 siding with you on this! Particularly since you got it on FB, you can't really wait or it'll go to someone else. Maybe he's already feeling sensitive about not being able to attend the scans so it's made him feel a little left out. I'm trying my best to send things to my DH for approval (although most of the time I've already bought it lol) just so he feels included.

Hopefully scans start to open back up soon so our partners get to at least hear the heartbeat at some point. I feel lucky to be pregnant with a healthy baby after last time but sometimes it does feel unfair that this is the experience we're having...

Indigogirl88 · 03/06/2020 07:52

Thanks girls yeah I'm thinking of booking a private scan as a surprise so he can see baby again so he feels more included. They probably are feeling very left out at the minute.

Have we got anymore scans due?

FourPlasticRings · 03/06/2020 07:55

Well, that's it. Almost 23 weeks and my belly button has popped out. Sad

Quiffy · 03/06/2020 09:39

@LexiM yay congrats on boy!

@Buzz22 Think you might have a little diva in the making hehe! Hopefully see more at cervical scan.

@Indigogirl88 why would you consult him on a breast pump? That's daft, hopefully a scan cheers him up a bit.

@FourPlasticRings I didn't even know that was a thing! Does it look/feel freaky?

Have your partners been able to feel baby on the outside yet? Mine kicks a lot but as soon as DH puts his hand on me he stops. It was pretty funny at first but I think he's getting sad. I'm not sure he'd be able to feel him anyway as I think I'm too cushioned (lol) for him to feel it through. I'm really hoping our local scan place opens soon.

CouscousEvaporator · 03/06/2020 10:01

@Indigogirl88 I’d be petty and go through the breast pump in minute detail when you get it, how to use, sterilise, assemble, reassemble. What it feels like, when you plan to use it, how much you think you’ll get out just completely overkill. I doubt he’ll ask to be consulted on it again 😂

CouscousEvaporator · 03/06/2020 10:05

@Buzz22 I honestly absolutely love that scan, there’s so much personality showing already haha. Sorry it meant they couldn’t measure everything though.

I’m going to get DH a card from bump and a little comedy parenting book.

@HerondaleDucks thank you for the recommendation of the honest midwife x

Quiffy · 03/06/2020 10:26

@CouscousEvaporator love those suggestions for @Indigogirl88 - maybe make him try it out too to see how it feels.

bluemoon2468 · 03/06/2020 10:29

@Quiffy I have an anterior placenta and DH still can't feel any movements even though I've been feeling him move since 15 weeks and they're now huge kicks 😔

LexiM · 03/06/2020 10:39

Ah @Treaclepie19 I do feel for you, I would be the same if they couldn’t be more sure on the sex, I know it’s never 100% but I can imagine it’s almost more frustrating than not knowing at all when they give such a vague answer.

@Quiffy my husband felt baby move once last week, but I think it was just luck. I’ve only seen him move “from the outside” once more since then. Mine also tends to stop when I stop and look at my tummy or put my hand on it! When you think about how much room there is currently for them in there, it does explain why you can’t always see/feel it from the outside that much if they aren’t near the “top”.

If anyone can book a private scan they are expensive but my husband felt worth every pound! I hadn’t realised how much it had affected him being left out until i see how he’s changed since the scan. Even clinics that are saying no partners unless essential, email and ask because ours said that and he was allowed. I know some are starting gender specific scans in June too, so I expect they will relax rules a bit.

FourPlasticRings · 03/06/2020 10:47

I didn't even know that was a thing! Does it look/feel freaky?

Yeah, I am not a fan of how it looks tbh. You can see where the skin is puckered together, presumably from where they cut the umbilical cord and it healed. It's a bit purple/red ish. It didn't happen until much later on the first time around so I'm a bit concerned that's it's already happened now and I'm barely past the halfway point. I presume it must be easier for it to invert once it's already happened once.

Treaclepie19 · 03/06/2020 10:48

Thanks @LexiM. I've booked a private scan for just under 2 weeks time to see if they can confirm it. I'd love my DH to come in too but children aren't allowed in so that's a no go. Hey ho!

Eek our local mcdonalds has reopened and I can't wait to go 😂😳

Indigogirl88 · 03/06/2020 11:06

@FourPlasticRings I dont think mines far off

😂😂 I actually think I'll get him to try it out @CouscousEvaporator

Struggling with work today, and hunger is through the roof!

Spark27 · 03/06/2020 11:37

@Treaclepie19, I'm with you on the thinking about a McDs. I might send DH out for one next week on a day when DD is at nursery. So mean. Haha

I get its difficult for DH/DPs that cant go to the scans, but it's not our fault. It's not like you're saying to them they cant go, it's the whole country. I get it's a new experience and a bonding thing, but in the grand scheme of ours, babies, and all the vulnerable people is hospitals safety they must realise why its needed. Do a trade off with them- say once your home from having the baby they can do all the nappies for the first 2 weeks as it's an excellent bonding experience Grin

Just got back for a mini (social distanced) family photo shoot at a farmers field. Very excited to see the pictures later. Hardly ever have any of the 3 of us. Hope bump is obvious and I dont just look fat!

Treaclepie19 · 03/06/2020 11:41

Haha good plan @Spark27!
My DS is still home as nursery isn't open so I'm thinking we can all have mcdonalds and at least I won't have to cook.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 03/06/2020 12:25

@otterbaby yes I've ordered a card "from the bump" and a gorgeous mug off Etsy from this really lovely lady that has the scan pic on saying "you're going to be the best daddy" it's gorgeous I'm so excited to get it!!

@Buzz22 oh what a bendy baby 😂💕

@Quiffy no he hasn't, I'm not even sure I'm feeling movements yet! I'm waiting very patiently!

I would also fully recommend a private scan so partners can see, mine feels so much more connected now.

@Treaclepie19 I can't wait for our McDonald's to open! I'll be in the queue straight away!! Starbucks drive thru opened and that was also really exciting!

@Spark27 the photo shoot sounds lovely! Bet you get some lovely pics.

MrsD1990 · 03/06/2020 12:30

So jealous your McDonalds is open!!! I can't wait for them to open near us

babymama09 · 03/06/2020 12:37

Afternoon girls, I didn't come on here yesterday Been trying to process the scan yesterday.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

We have been told that baby is a girl but she's hyrdopic like her sisters and she more than likely will pass away in the womb. I'm gonna have to give birth naturally and there's nothing I can do to save her.
I haven't been able to talk or think I just can't understand why this has happened for a third time. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

CouscousEvaporator · 03/06/2020 13:05

@babymama09 I am so so sorry xxxx sending love and strength. It is so unfair x

BooMamaBear · 03/06/2020 13:09

FourPlasticRings · 03/06/2020 13:10

Oh @babymama09 I'm so so sorry. That's horrifically unfair. Words are so inadequate but sending love Flowers.

Quiffy · 03/06/2020 13:14

So sorry @babymama09. So unfair for you and your family, sending you lots of love
