@treaclepie19 I’m glad it went well. I’m in the same dilemma as you with wanting to know very much if I’ve got a son or daughter but no way of knowing now... we’ve got a name for each sex but I’d like to be able to start using her name (I think girl very strongly lol).

Hope your placenta stays out the way 🙂

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 12:17

@CouscousEvaporator yeah I would as well, I just want to prepare my 4yo because hes adamant he only wants a brother.
I considered a private scan but just can't decide. The closest one to us isn't that close and I'd have to go alone.

Buzz22 · 01/06/2020 12:19

@LexiM good luck!

@Treaclepie19 glad all looked well! Would you do a private scan to find out gender or are you going to wait for a surprise?

I have my 2nd attempt at 20 week scan tomorrow morning at 8.30am. The one thing she did show us was between her legs! Fingers crossed shes a bit more cooperative tomorrow.
I also have to go in on Thursday afternoon for another cervical length scan. Not sure if this is the last one. I guess it depends on how its measuring. Anyone else still having cervical length scans?

Treacle81 · 01/06/2020 12:19

Aw that’s good all went well @Treaclepie19 surely at the next one you’ll know!! Just got a call from mw (that’s my third change of mw) she has rescheduled my appt from 11th to 19th. Was so looking forward to hearing heartbeat! Yet to hear it, only seen it on screen xx

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 12:21

He showed me between babys legs and it definitely didn't look penis like!
Im going to talk to DH later about maybe having a private scan but otherwise if they do one at 32 weeks then I'll ask again. Only 10 weeks to go 😂

babymama09 · 01/06/2020 12:43

@Treaclepie19 Glad ur scan went well, i had the same issue at my last scan regarding the sex of baby, "she" kept putting the umbilical cord inbetween her legs. The consulant got the other nurse to double check it and they said they could see three white lines hopefully tomorrow we will know for certain but i am pretty sure if they say girl at 20 weeks its a girl so congrats hun.

@Buzz22 mine is at 13:50 tomorrow, keep us posted with how you get on with it. How far is everybody now as it seems some are a bit further than others (sorry trying to keep up lol)

I am 19+4 at the moment so not quite halfway yet.

Zaalfruit · 01/06/2020 12:46

@Treacle81 why do they keep changing it ?

@Treaclepie18 - are going for a private scan for the gender ? I saw lots of offers are starting up again on groupon . Also I called up a few places and they said July onwards they will be resuming gender scans - I think in London there are few option but outside it’s more restrictive.

@CouscousEvaporator I want to buy everything but this baby was so hard to conceive ( we spent 3 years travelling on and off after every failed attempt ) and if I let myself feel to much and something happens I don’t know if I could cope with all the unused stuff . My dh brought an outfit for baby girl from Asda I made him hide it and told him I don’t want to see it till I can feel a strong kick .

@Buzz22 good luck , try and not worry to much - I know easier said than done . My leggings were so tight today - sitting and wfh from in a T-shirt I had to take them off . I have grown over night.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 01/06/2020 13:53

@LexiM good luck with the scan!

@Treaclepie19 glad the scan went well!

@Quiffy felt ok actually recently apart from today, all of a sudden just very flat and low on energy. Think I overdid it at the weekend with decorating.

@Zaalfruit such a funny story about your little niece stealing the phone and calling you! Very clever of her!

My cousin had the perfect prep machine, I looked after her baby a few times and I loved it! So easy to use and ready so quickly!!

Ordered my nursery furniture on Friday and it's arriving tomorrow!! It wasn't meant to be here until never fri, no room for it at the moment we really aren't ready for it!! Will have to store in the garage, exciting though. Xx

BntTowers · 01/06/2020 13:58

Happy scan day, glad yours went well @Treaclepie19.

I've had a stressful WFH morning, plus we've been told that they want to start phasing back people I to the office from 30th June. I'm hoping I can still WFH, but will need to talk to hr about that.

I think I must have started to look pregnant over the weekend. Went out for a walk and so many people stopped (at a distance) and asked me questions about when I was due. We live in Yorkshire so generally quite a chatty place if you are out anyway. It was quite nice actually, I'm just glad that because of social distancing no body can come up and touch me.

We also have an electrician here at the moment so to go with stressful work there's a lot of noise coming from downstairs.

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 01/06/2020 15:07

@BntTowers that does sound stressful. Hopefully they'll let you work from home. I'm still waiting to see if I'll be furloughed next week otherwise I'll miss the cut off and will have to work in 3rd trimester. I also live in Yorkshire! X

Treacle81 · 01/06/2020 19:44

@babymama09 I’m 22 weeks today. @Zaalfruit I think they must be massively understaffed and the 3 changes of midwifes I presume must be to do with self isolating. Just hope I get to hear his wee heartbeat on the 19th now and it doesn’t change again! 14 weeks seems a long time to go without bloods and urine checked! Good luck to the scans tomorrow! I ordered cycling shorts (only type I could find) and a few mat T-shirt’s and a nightie from Boohoo, next day delivery. Shorts were only £4.50 so gonna order a few more pairs, defo recommend xx

LostinAusten2 · 01/06/2020 20:21

Congrats @Treaclepie19 on the scan - another milestone sussed 😊 I’m on the higher risk list (think it’s because of some back medication) so I’m getting extra scans in general (30 and 36 week) and weirdly glad to have more checks.

Massive sympathies to those with low energy - I know we’re only half way through but I feel enormous and knackered!

And good luck @Buzz22 and @babymama09 for the scans tomorrow 🤞🤞

Buzz22 · 01/06/2020 20:37

@babymama09 good luck tomorrow! I'll let you all know how I get on. Not looking forward to the very early start but at least no waiting round at the hospital. Im sure I wont sleep well tonight either due to nerves.
I am 21 + 3 (second attempt at 20 week scan!)
Ohhh you arent far off halfway now! I feel so excited for everyone on here!

@Treacle81 i also did a boohoo order today. Got some maternity leggings and also the £4.50 cycling shorts! I dont have enough bump for maternity clothes yet though so not sure how they will fit at the the moment.
Tried looking on asos and other shops but everything online seems to be sold out everywhere...maternity and non maternity. I ended up buying some cheap oversized t-shirt dresses from nasty gal...not maternity but thought they'd do for a while till theres more bump and it's so hot I need more loose clothes!

HerondaleDucks · 01/06/2020 20:39

Very much recommending www.letstalkbirthandbaby.co.uk

Really good 2 hrs session on zoom for free. Found it really interesting so will be booking in for her 4 other sessions.

She has a great Instagram page too where she answers questions.

Treacle81 · 01/06/2020 20:43

@Buzz22 I haven’t much bump either, certainly gets bigger by end of day but the shorts come up quite high for now, light and comfy tho so not an issue xx

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 20:45

Thanks eveeyone ❤

Good luck with the scans tomorrow!!

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 01/06/2020 21:22

Has anyone else had a blocked nose at nighttime? I've seen it's a pregnancy symptom. I've had it for quite a while now on and off and hay fever has made it worse. Does anyone have any tips to help me breathe better when go to sleep?! Also I know can't take hay fever tablets but hay fever is just so bad!! X

Spark27 · 01/06/2020 21:23

@babymama09 I'm 23w 1d, but my scans moved me so im actually due 27th Sept. On one had it feels like the weeks are flying by, bit then I cant believe I have to wait another 5w until I see the midwife again.

Had a proper Alien moment about 30mins ago. Baby was having a right wriggle about and it felt like it was all elbows and knees. Made me feel a bit sick. Dont remember the movement being anything like this at this number of weeks last time. Either my body is just more used to it, or this ones gonna be a right bruiser.

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 21:33

@Spark27 yes!! I had that earlier. I had a dodgy tummy this morning so it hasn't made me feel good 🙈
The consultant did say I have a wriggly baby!

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy yeah I've been quite blocked up as well. Flipping hayfever isn't helping.

BooMamaBear · 01/06/2020 21:56

Glad your scan went well @Treaclepie19 hopefully you kids find out the Greer for sure next time!

Good luck @Buzz22 and @babymama09

I'm 21+1 atm got another scan at 26w xx

Indigogirl88 · 01/06/2020 23:14

@BntTowers snap for Yorkshire! I feel like I've really popped now and definitely visible!

@Treaclepie19 congrats on the scan and tentative welcome to the pink club

I got on Facebook today a mandala pump and 2 new mam bottles (plus she chucked a load of freebies in like pads etc) for £20, I'm so chuffed ! Dp was a bit miffed I didnt run it passed him first, but I didnt think he was that bothered about a second hand breast pump lol! I know it's a bit creepy getting a second hand pump (we could afford new but I just jumped at the chance) I found on the website you can buy new parts so I'll buy all the plastic parts I think rather than just sterilise

Indigogirl88 · 01/06/2020 23:15

Medela pump*

Spark27 · 02/06/2020 07:13

@Indigogirl88 that's a great deal. I got a Medela (?) Pump from my sister and thought it was great. They're so expensive so to be able to get one 2nd hand is great. I just sterilised all the bits and tubes

Good luck to all with scans today.

I'm super excited today as DD is going back to nursery. Shes thrilled as well. I think I'm going to do nothing, all day. And just bask in the silence!

Zaalfruit · 02/06/2020 07:22

Good luck to the scans today x

@Buzz22 and @babymama09

@Indigogirl88 That’s a great price for a pump and yeah just buy the little bits and bobs you require !

@Spark27 that made me align so much alien moment . My dates been moved to the 29th but I’m sure I will have an October baby . Everyone in my family is born late .

( woke up so achey today - ordered a measuring tape last night - to see belly growth )

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy I get quite bunged up and have hay fever been using a nasel salt spray and a dehumidifier seems to help a tiny bit I hate the feeling of a dry nose . I brought the Dehumidifier off amazon about £15.

Quiffy · 02/06/2020 09:01

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy yes! One of the long line of fun symptoms haha - pregnancy rhinitis. Fine all day then as soon as lie down for bed at night it starts. The worst part is that my body doesnt seem to register my mouth needing to be open to breathe so I wake up snorting like a pig for air. I use a Breathe Right strip every night that helps a good bit - beware it hurts like a biatch to get off in the morning.

@BntTowers That sounds super stressful. I hope they let you WFH for the forseeable future.

Good luck for scans today @Buzz22 @babymama09
