@Zaalfruit, unfortunately not. She used to but shes given up during lockdown. I've decided she must hate me Grin. I do send her up to her room for some chill out time with a film (that's mostly for my benefit!)

I'm thinking of going for a private growth and presentation scan around 30w. Mostly to let DH come to a scan, but that one seems like a good one to give some indication of ongoing growth. But it's all subjective and with the scans, it's not always accurate

HerondaleDucks · 31/05/2020 11:45

Sorry I have missed a few days.
Been busy at work and sorting out things for baby.
I also had a barney with my dsd about laundry and that turned into Laundrygate. Teenagers eh lol

My DSS safe space was finally removed from his room, its been really hard to find an appropriate place/ family to take it. The charity who supplied it wouldn't take it back and his residential school wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding risks. But we found a family who really need it to keep their child safe at night, which is what it is for. So that made me cry knowing what a difference it has made to their family.
But also emptying the last bits from DSS room was super emotional and I cried a lot. I haven't seen him properly since March and I miss him dreadfully. He gets annoyed at skype as he doesn't understand. Bless him. He is safe and happy in his school and they are taking very good care of him. I was a bit worried that the next time I see him I'll be the size of a house and he won't recognise me!

Now the room is empty I am spending the weekend decorating it as he had trashed the walls a fair bit. But it's super emotional. Finding it really hard to think of it as the baby's room now and not his.

I've put on 2 and a half kg. But hoping this doesn't go up anymore. They already hate me cause I started off my pregnancy not being perfect BMI. I have been trying to be super healthy and do the 30 mins of exercise a day.

Been feeling lots of movement this morning and I also felt a hard part on my tummy this morning but it's gone now so he must of moved!

Hope you are feeling a bit brighter @Zaalfruit sorry to hear you have been feeling down. Glad you had a proper chat to the midwife though. That was brave and hope it helped.
Glad the scan went ok. What a relief!

Ah @Quiffy congrats on your scan and your lovely boy!

@LexiM if your scan is in Salisbury it was completely dead when I went in. Like 1 other person in the waiting room
I really want to go to IKEA too, I need a chest of drawers for the baby's room. Don't know if I can face the drive to Southampton to be in a huge massive queue.
@LostinAusten2 congrats on your scan! Was it a choice to be team yellow or was baby not playing ball?

@BntTowers congrats, so glad the scan went well! I keep forgetting to book my whooping cough jab as well. Someone remind me on Monday? Lol!

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy
I've been told that we won't be going back into the office until September so it looks like I'm WFH until maternity.
Maybe start a whole thread on it to see what everyone else says? Hope you get the advice you need.

Good luck for the scans tomorrow and tuesday.
I have a follow up on friday as he wasn't playing ball last time.
I have my first online antenatal class tomorrow night too so I'm excited for that.

HerondaleDucks · 31/05/2020 16:41

Covered in blue paint now. But having a break and waiting for the ice cream van to come round so I can have a Mr Whippy

LexiM · 31/05/2020 17:00

@herondaleducks sorry to hear about all the upset you have to go through at the moment must be such mixed emotions of sadness but also excitement for the new baby. I appreciate it must be hard not seeing your DSS mixed with the pregnancy emotions. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been doing bedroom painting but stopped now as I just get too hot.
Good news about the scan waiting area, last time I went it was only two of us waiting either end and they were on time but that was 9am, tomorrow is 1.30pm so hoping they will be on time as I feel hot in there!
I’m sending my mum and step dad to Ikea for me at some point, click and collect doesn’t seem to be offered for Southampton yet and whilst I could wait I can’t lift it on my own and my husband works during the week and I couldn’t face a weekend!

Hope you enjoy your online class. I’m doing one on Wednesday. I forget all these things I sign up to haha... my husband is getting fed up of me repeating myself but I just don’t remember telling him anything! So bad 😂

Spark27 · 31/05/2020 17:06

I really want an ice cream now. Annoying the ice cream van always comes round here at DDs dinner time, so I cant really get one. Boo.

I've just booked us in for a mini family photo shoot on wednesday (with social distancing). Its for fathers day really, but will be nice to get some proper pictures of all 3 of us. Half an hour and only £25 with access to at least 10 digital shots. Sounded like a bargain to me. And then if it's good I might look to use her in the future once the baby is here. Already looking forward to the excuse to put make up on Grin

Spark27 · 31/05/2020 17:15

As my belly is growing my belly button is getting wider and shallower (wouldnt be surprised if it pops out before the end, even though it didnt last time). Currently lying on the bed having some chill out time and baby is having a wriggle around. I can see the bottom of my belly button moving around and almost pulsating up and down as baby is wriggling. Urgh. It's making me feel a bit 'Alien' weirded out

HerondaleDucks · 31/05/2020 21:51

@LexiM Hahaha I'm like that. My dh says I have baby brain already.
I ended up painting in a sports bra and a pair of shorts as it was hot.
Talking about ikea makes me miss their meatballs...
Enjoy your class on Wednesday! Which is my birthday lol.

I'm sorry I made you want ice cream @Spark27 I hope you get one soon! It's what you need when it's so hot outside.

LostinAusten2 · 31/05/2020 22:26

Hey @herondaleducks - sorry for slow reply - had a day full of calls with the family just catching up on things; on the baby front we asked not to find out the gender as (1) to keep it a surprise and (2) it’s our first so will just be so happy if this little one makes it safely no matter the gender 🤞🤞🤞

Hope your antenatal class goes well 😊 our next midwife appointment is mid-June so hoping she can sort out classes for us then - - are your classes with the NHS or a different organisation?

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 07:03

Morning all!

It's finally scan day!!! 🤞 Hoping like crazy that all is well.

Spark27 · 01/06/2020 07:06

Yay, @Treaclepie19. Hoping it all goes well for you. What time is your scan? Are you hoping to find out the gender? Exciting day xx

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 07:07

@Spark27 10am! They're always running late so im expecting more like 11. Definitely finding out if we can! Last time baby hid from us 🙈 x

Indigogirl88 · 01/06/2020 07:13

Good luck @Treaclepie19 xx

Morning ladies, I wish it was another bank holiday, I'm so tired having spent the weekend out in the sun, and have to do the dreaded food shop and work all day!

Not much to report baby front, starting to get excited and dp is now as well!

Quiffy · 01/06/2020 07:30

@Treaclepie19 happy scan day finally!!! Here's to a flashing baby ❤️💙

@HerondaleDucks sounds like a very emotional time. Lovely that you found a family in need ❤️

Anyone else struggling with tiredness? Yesterday I felt like a zombie, slept in, only had energy to move to chair, was too tired to make lunch so dh did, then fell asleep scrolling on my phone, woke up 3 hours later and still too tired to move! Dh made dinner too while I lounged about, he was worried as he said I looked like a junkie zombie. Was wondering if it meant baby was having a growth spurt 🤔

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 07:33

Thank you!!
Haha @Quiffy, a flashing baby really made me laugh.

I'm struggling with the tiredness too. Every day its a struggle to get out of bed and then all day I'm so worn out.
I think I'll mention it to the midwife in case it's my iron or something.

OP posts:
HerondaleDucks · 01/06/2020 07:37

I'm full of energy. Went for a 5k walk with my dsd this morning.
I think my body is finally getting used to life without caffeine.

LexiM · 01/06/2020 08:08

Happy scan day @Treaclepie19 - I’m at 1.30 - although I have a confession to make, we might have had a sneak peak scan over the weekend, still processing it really as feels unreal and was sooo last minute. Would like to confirm all ok at this scan today as it was very brief, but seems to be and my husband was so thrilled to see the baby he cried! 😄 For us it was worth the cost despite being in there for hardly any time.

I’m on team tired today too... couldn’t get to sleep and woke up early. My husband is in a habit of sleeping really close to me/the giant pillow and I’m just squished to the edge. He then told me off for waking him up haha 😂

Treacle81 · 01/06/2020 08:42

Morning girls! @Treaclepie19 @LexiM happy scan day 🙌🏻 I also haven’t felt as tired, defo more energy! Hardly ate yesterday though, which never helped my heartburn:nausea but just no appetite- think it’s the heat! 22 wks today and baby defo most active first thing in morning and last thing at night xx

babymama09 · 01/06/2020 09:50

Morning girls @LexiM and @Treaclepie19 let us know how u get on with ur scans girls.
Mine is tomorrow and I cannot explain the anxiety going through me right now. Because if I get told all is okay tomorrow I can finally start looking at things to buy. Has anyone got advice for me on my fear of the loft. I really need to get up there and want to do it myself but have chickened out for last few days.
I'm also tired but I have put it down to heat, also not had a strong appetite though and with upcoming scan I am worried now.

How is everyone getting on with their shooing? Anyone had the Tommy tippee prep machine or would ur preference be the bottle warmer by mam I am still at a toss up between two.

FourPlasticRings · 01/06/2020 10:15

@LexiM and @Treaclepie19 good luck with the scans!

@babymama09 We had both with DD- I think it depends what you're using it for. We definitely got most use out of the bottle warmer because DD was breastfed and if you've got chilled milk in the fridge it heats it up nice and quickly. I think you might even be able to defrost from frozen in there but don't quote me on it- it was a long time ago and I could be misremembering.

The perfect prep was really good and would be useful if you're regularly making up formula, but DD decided she didn't like any of the brands we tried her on (pretty much all of them!) so it was a colossal waste of money for us.

Zaalfruit · 01/06/2020 10:28

Good luck to the scans today !!

@LexiM and @Treaclepie19

Aww at @LexiM that’s so cute that your husband cried - my dh is so meh about it all - I think his bday coincides with my 30 week so thinking maybe to book a 4d scan for us . Help bond with baby .

@HerondaleDucks wow you have energy and you are all set for the day . I’m just being a slug on my laptop whilst wfh .

@babymama09 - t he red dived appetite might be because you are stressing out - I’m scared to go up the loft stairs aswell might wait till my brother can come in to help me . If you feel scared don’t push yourself - And stay safe.

My sister in laws rave about the Tommy tippie prep machine - a bit noisey but apparently so easy as the temp is perfect and no need to worry about boiling water. I think I’m going to get the tommy tippie one as I think it’s works on my favour more .

I am not buying anything until a month away from due date. I don’t feel kicks or anything even though scan showed moving baby - I’m just really scared . Got my gtt blood test at week 28 .

The pregancy pillow ends up with my dh every night as I get hot and bothered and move it and he uses it 🥴 @Quiffy I feel so tired especially after walking up the stairs - feel out of breathe and so unfit .

@Spark27 sorry just caught up on all the messages . I am sure Dd is acting up as structure and dynamics have changed . My 2 and half year old niece faced time me yesterday at 10 pm after her mum fell asleep - she must of gone to her parents room and been spying on her mums pin - last person her mum face timed was me she clicked on and was talking so much I asked her can you to pass it to mummy - she goes mummy’s sleeping daddy pig in office . She went to his office and he apologised saying she is a crazy nightmare she was placed at bed at 7pm and now using the phone to makes calls. Apparently the other day she fussed till 2am they said about 40 times she was put in her bedroom and all they could hear is I’m hungry mummy , daddy , water please . Go away mummy , daddy.

BooMamaBear · 01/06/2020 11:21

Perfect prep ta a gud send when you finish especially after breastfeeding coz baby is used to having food when they want it a right temperature!
My belly button is shallower, softer and with a dimple above it -it did pop out last time not really far out just a bit!
Good luck for your scans @LexiM and @Treaclepie19 so exciting!! Xx

CouscousEvaporator · 01/06/2020 11:28

Good luck with the scans lexi and treaclepie!

Tommie tippie is definitely something im going to get if I can’t breastfeed. Sounds so convenient!

My belly button is shallower but I’m hoping I’ll avoid an outie 🙈 it’s super deep 😆

Glad I’m not the only one feeling a bit tired, even though it sucks - I needed an extra hour in bed this morning...

CouscousEvaporator · 01/06/2020 11:30

Also, I am impressed you’re so chill about buying stuff @Zaalfruit! My DH was born at 36 weeks so I’m buying everything by 33 weeks latest, just in case. Also because I’m slightly neurotic about prep 😂

babymama09 · 01/06/2020 11:53

Thanks for the response guys, I have been researching the MAM steriliser and I have found one that came with a warmer and was a choice between electric and microwave. Some of you may have found that same deal its around £80. I had the MAM bottles last time with my DD but I dont think we used them properly sometimes as they seemed to leak, but absolutely fantastic against Colic and Reflux. My DS suffered badly with both of it. Never tried a prep machine before and I know it can take MAM bottles so wondering whether to just go for micro steriliser (24.99 - £30) which is cheaper and the prep machine or to buy the more expensive version and the prep or just the expensive version. Sorry for going on there.

How did the scans go girls if you have had them

Treaclepie19 · 01/06/2020 11:57

Thanks everyone Smile
All looks good so far, they've booked me another appointment for 32 weeks. Not sure if it'll be a scan or just a chat. They couldn't say 100% girl or boy. Thinks its a girl though which is a shock after 2 boys!

I feel a bit conflicted because I don't feel we can use the name we'd planned or anything until we're sure.
They said my placenta is low but not low enough to be a problem so hopefully will be okay.
