@Zaalfruit hope you get seen soon and all is ok.

@Quiffy I find it so weird she would say you don’t have to change date then be mad that you didn’t want to - who would want to change the date when they were prepared to go!

I agreed to have my scan after 20 weeks because they said it would be clearer but getting impatient now, even though it’s only 4 days away 😂😂 I cant even remember the date of my last scan.

For pram we are thinking the Uppababy Vista, I really want to try it out though and need to check it can get through the front door! My sister had the older model 5 years ago and it was really good, although I am rubbish at pushing a pram!!
The suspension is meant to be even better on it which I want for walks etc. Although we live in the suburbs I’m sure it will be used for all terrains. It’s hard to know til baby is here. Also going to use the carrycot as a place for baby to sleep downstairs to save some money on buying two things. We agreed we would decide on a date to wait and see if we can try prams out after which we will go ahead and just order. I kinda want to go when shops open in case they close again but equally it’s going to be so busy when they first open.

Aquablue1123 · 28/05/2020 11:13

@Quiffy I don't blame you for saying no, I would be the same too! You've waited long enough now as you say. Don't worry! Hope you're ok x

NWnature · 28/05/2020 11:29

Argh @Quiffy how annoying. I know it’s stereotypical but so many NHS admin staff are SO grouchy and mean. My GP receptionist made me cry once!!! So pleased you stuck to your guns! 💪

@Zaalfruit hope you get seen soon. I’ve changed hospitals too. I was surprised how easy and I guess we have all our notes etc to help make it smooth.

So exciting hearing all your plans. I think we are going for Bugaboo Fox2 and a Cybex Cloud Z car seat. I also want a Babyzen Yo-yo for travel etc as apparently they are so light and easy.

I have no idea for side by cot though. The snuz pod is the one I’ve seen mentioned the most so may go with that. Although seems quite pricey as assume the baby grows out of it quite quickly.

BntTowers · 28/05/2020 11:30

@Quiffy agreed, you've waiting long enough and they booked the appointment on that date in the first place. I have a friend who is a few weeks ahead of me and she said a lot of scans have been moved from the hospital to different clinics so maybe they were hoping for that. Still they would have know about that for weeks... I hope you get seen on time. To call on the morning of your scan is a bit late to be changing it anyway!

I'm 20 weeks today so half way through now! Work is dragging today, I'm not sure how I'm going to get through 5 days of it for the next few weeks.

Indigogirl88 · 28/05/2020 14:10

@BntTowers snap work is dragging today, so I keep distracting with youtube videos.

On kiddies kingdom they have the Kinderkraft pram really cheap and the reviews look good, it sounds like I'm a cheap state but we spent out on the harness as we know the type of walks we do we cant use a pram, so the pram will basically be for the odd shop run

Quiffy · 28/05/2020 14:21

Thanks everyone. When I got there she said "oh you're the one who wouldn't cancel, we'll we're running late". There was someone else waiting so they heard this. I sat for over an hour waiting (really glad I brought a book) and five other women came in (she didn't say anything about cancelling to them) and all got their scan before me. I've no idea why I got singled out...

Dont care now though as I have a big healthy boy in there 💙💙💙💙 he wasn't playing ball so I got shuffled about a bit. She even put the table up so I was upside down a bit so he'd roll hehe. Was fun getting back up after that. Thankfully all the midwifes and sonographer were lovely after the one bad receptionist. Got my jag too and now home to celebrate 😻💙 I saw gestational age pop up as 22weeks eek so big again

@Zaalfruit @LostinAusten2 hope all goes/went well ❤️❤️❤️

For prams I really like the Ickle Bubba stomp v4 in midnight bronze. The name is a bit stupid but it looks nice and had great reviews.

FourPlasticRings · 28/05/2020 14:30

@Zaalfruit Good luck! I hope you get seen soon. It's cool to have a due date buddy Smile DD is two in a couple of weeks. I would be lying if I said I was thrilled with the wake up call this morning (but also lying if I said it was unexpected!) She was born a week early, so I'm wondering if this one will be a September baby.

FourPlasticRings · 28/05/2020 14:34

Congratulations @Quiffy! A big boy then, when's your due date?

How rude of the lady! Glad everything turned out well though. Smile

Zaalfruit · 28/05/2020 14:46

Ahhhh @Quiffy congratulations!!! Team boy !!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

The Ickle bubba v4 has really nice trimming with the leather I really like it as well - everyone keeps telling me don’t bother with a carry cot - so that’s why I’m think mama and papas occara . The leather trim on the V4 is lovely . ( the name is offputting ickle bubba- Who in marketing came up with that)

All receptionists are just moody in my surgery they just chat amongst them selves even when they are making our appointments . Why did the receptionist make that stupid comment it’s their fault let’s say there were 5 slots they probably over booked the slots . Ignore the receptionists always 🤣😂

My scan was good - was told if I don’t feel kicks from 24 weeks to go in straight away . She didn’t like the scan today so I had to lie on my side and do a dance 🤣

@FourPlasticRings wow 2 she must be so cute!! My favourite baby ages are 2-3 as they are so chatty but you start to see personality’s come out.

My hospital booked my 28 week midwife appointment, gtt and 36 scan today . How scary only three more times being seen and then baby will be here !! Also my hospital gave me pre- natel pills ; vitamin c , d and folic acid as I told them I had run out of pregnacare .

babymama09 · 28/05/2020 15:25

Congratulations @Quiffy on baby boy. Afternoon ladies, I have had a bit of an up and down day today, can't seem to control my emotions one min I feel fine next I want to cry. I have managed to get my loft open but my kids keep putting me off from going up the ladders. I must be such a scardey cat for not being able to do something so simple, I can't see all the baby stuff bit can't reach it from the ladder and I am too scared that I will fall even though my 14 Yr old had hold of em for me, I could tell he was panicking.

I really like the v4 stomp too, but I also like the icandy prams I don't know why but the more I look at prams the more I change my mind on what I want. I have never had parent facing without carrycot before and think that's a great feature.

Has anyone else had a scan today? @LexiM when is ur scan? Mine is next Tuesday and I cannot wait. I am too worried and anxious to start buying anything. Was going to buy the Mam bottles but I know that they leak had anyone tried tommy yippee anti colic ones before?

How is everyone feeling? I still havent shook my nausea. But I am ecstatic that I am 19 weeks today. Cannot wait to see baby, my dd keeps asking when she is coming but I have to keep explainijg that it's a while a way yet. Just hope I go to the scan and there isn't any hydrops don't think I could go through it again.

Treaclepie19 · 28/05/2020 15:26

Congratulations @Quiffy!!
Gosh how rude. Why did they pick you to be so grumpy with?!

I'm feeling rubbish today. So tired again and stomach achey. 😔

OP posts:
Indigogirl88 · 28/05/2020 15:37

Same with the tiredness but treated myself to an iced coffee it was yummers! I like the colour range of the ickle bubba v4 compare to the v3

I've downloaded the kicks counter app to keep an eye on it, had lots of movement today Grin

Work is doing my head in! I'm just going to give them my dates and if baby comes early, not my problem

babymama09 · 28/05/2020 15:39

@Indigogirl88 I have just seen the moon travel system 3 in 1 ickle bubba for £199 instead of the £299 it was originally priced at. What's happened at work are you okay?
I feel constantly tired too and sickly but can't be sick it's so annoying

Treaclepie19 · 28/05/2020 15:47

Glad its not just me. Im wondering if they need to check me for diabetes or something. Everyday about half an hour after lunch im knackered and falling asleep on the sofa.

OP posts:
babymama09 · 28/05/2020 15:51

I have been checked for diabetes and apparently I am fine. It could be that your iron is low, every pregnancy I have had I have had low iron but not this one for some reason. But I do understand how ur feeling @Treaclepie19.

Treaclepie19 · 28/05/2020 16:05

I'm guessing it's just pregnancy but might just mention it to make sure.
I could be anaemic, I don't eat a lot of meat and haven't been feeling up to proper meals often.

OP posts:
Treacle81 · 28/05/2020 16:12

Aw congrats 💙@Quiffy, both due boys on the same day (oh well not anymore actually if you are showing ahead) lol. The pr you Luke was my second option as just loved the colour, unusual but went for the stokke with fluffy winter kit. I’m also feeling quite heavy really low down at times. Just back from an hour long walk and last 20 mins had the uncomfortable heavy feeling. By the sounds of things, I might be able to work from home permanently with the way things are going. That sorts childcare!! xx

Treacle81 · 28/05/2020 16:13

Think that’s girls 13/9 now

Treacle81 · 28/05/2020 16:13

Sorry 13/10 that was meant to say xx

Spark27 · 28/05/2020 16:15

2- 3 is your favourite age!! @Zaalfruit, can I package up my DD and send her to you? Toddlers are savage. Too much energy, not enough understanding, potty training, argh. Haha. But pregnancy and lockdown could be adding to my assessment Grin

LexiM · 28/05/2020 16:18

@Quiffy sorry that lady was so rude, there’s just no excuse for it! Glad all is well with your baby boy 💙

@babymama09 mine is Monday and I will be 20+5 then, so can’t wait! I’m hoping there won’t be too much wait when I get there as it’s quite warm in the hospital.

@Zaalfruit glad all is ok with your baby too and it’s good they are doing the checks. We don’t get the 36 week scan here, seems to vary depending on area from what I’ve read.

Spark27 · 28/05/2020 16:22

Congratulations on the scans today ladies, and sorry about the grumpy receptionist.

I'm feeling a bit stomach achy this afternoon too. Not sure if it's due to stretching or just a stomach ache. So difficult to not over analyse everything.

Had another email from work basically saying that they were waiting on the policy regarding when/of vulnerable people could return to work, but guessing that it wouldnt be any time in the near future. So it looks like that's me out til Oct 2021!

Hopefully DD might be back at nursery next week, so that's 2 days a week where I can get some head space. Sounds mean to say, but after 10 weeks I just need to not be with her 24/7

babymama09 · 28/05/2020 16:36

@Spark27 I completely understand how you feel, all four of mine are bored at the moment and don't seem to have the enthusiasm for school work especially my teenager. But I won't be sending them back immediately when they open the school I just think it's too much of a risk. I am sure this virus is to see how long before parents snap or lose their hair. @LexiM your a week in front of me by sounds of it. I am hoping to get some clarity on the c sec day but I don't think that will be sorted yet and it looks like I might have to have the injection for whooping cough at my GP which should be fun considering they don't seem open that often.

I love the idea of the next to me crib and the kinderkraft pram does look appealing I am just worried I will spend a fortune on a pram and then brake the damn thing again. I always said I should have been a prma tester😂😂

Anyone tried the Tommy tippee bottles the anti colic ones or any other anti colic ones.
I can't seem to stop feeling anxious recently
