Ahh thank you everyone !!

Good luck to all the upcoming scans excited to hear how it went !!

@Spark27 sleeping and movement in bed is getting harder . Deffo prop up to avoid acid reflux - do you find any food in particular that gives you acid reflux ?

blankiesandunicorns · 27/05/2020 23:21

Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone knows anything about next to me cribs, sorry if this has already been done I haven't caught up completely and not been on in a couple of days!
I thought there was one type but been looking and it seems there's a few different Chicco ones, does anyone have experience with any of them and advise me at all? My cousin has said I can have hers if she's done with it but I want to be prepared if I need to order one or I don't want the one she has got

Thanks happy to see there been more scans, hope everyone is keeping well ☺️

Spark27 · 27/05/2020 23:32

Not that I've noticed @Zaalfruit. It only happens when I lie down to try and sleep. Never had it before and didnt last time. Crazy how different this is to my last pregnancy. Feeling the aches and pains, and showing so much more already. Getting some quiet uncomfortable BH pains already too. Worried for how I'll feel as I progress.

BooMamaBear · 28/05/2020 01:00

Good luck @LostinAusten2 and @Quiffy

@Spark27 /l-totally get where you're coming from I'm sure last time even towards the end I didn't have this much trouble sleeping!
Got a pregnancy pillow and a separate pillow under my bump (which is much bigger than this point last time) and I still wake up with a sore hip and back but also tonight my right arm is sore coz I had my whooping cough jab earlier!
My heartburn hasn't been as bad last couple of nights! Xx

Aquablue1123 · 28/05/2020 02:58

@Zaalfruit I'm glad you feel better after talking it through, everything you said is relatable and I really for you, it's such a anxious time at the moment. Big hugs to you.

@Quiffy haha I love a good series to distract me and help me procrastinate! I'm sure the baby is enjoying it too.

Good luck to everyone on their scans this week.

FourPlasticRings · 28/05/2020 05:51

I went with the older of the two @blankiesandunicorns because it unzips rather than just crinkling down. But I think maybe the unzipping one isn't as safe due to the size of the lip- I read something on here a while back. Wasn't an issue with DD though as she was a very still sleeper. Which ones are you looking at?

FourPlasticRings · 28/05/2020 05:55

Had a really, really sharp takes-your-breath-away horrid pain on the upper right side of my abdomen this morning when I sat up. Didn't have anything like it last pregnancy- it was all lower abdominal. Anyone had anything like it? Pregnancy anxiety is starting to kick in (I was doing so well, too Sad)

Zaalfruit · 28/05/2020 07:09

@Quiffy and @LostinAusten2 Scan days !!! Yay you both have been so patient :)

@Spark27 I hope it eases for you X maybe as I’m a ftm I’m not feeling body aches yet - is your bump bigger this time round? Hoping the pain eases for you - with tHe acid reflux I was told have small meals - try and have trigger foods earlier on the day and more bland foods for dinner . ( my acid Is bad I haven’t had a tomato or an apple since early feb)

@BooMamaBear whooping cough pain is the worst - Wishing the arm pain goes away quickly for you ! Omgooodness two pillows - feel hot thinking about it - but I guess whatever to ease and help you to sleep you need to do what’s best.

Really rare everyone that has children already - I struggle with motivation due to acid reflux and aches and pains - for everyone that has children and has to push through you girls are doing an amazing job !!

@FourPlasticRings I hope it’s just a one off pain that you had - yesterday the midwife said any pain just call us , so maybe just call your midwife to see that it’s normal and I hope your pregnancy anxiety eases .

Lots of love to everyone on this group it’s about 18 Weeks to 1st October :)

Quiffy · 28/05/2020 07:26

@BntTowers 11.30 so a bit to wait from my last 9am where I was first of the day - glad it's not after lunch though! I totally forgot about Paperchase! Will have to look, I'm usually banned from it 🤣

@Zaalfruit I'm so glad you got everything off your chest. Massive step to take ❤️

@FourPlasticRings ouch, sounds sore. Hopefully just a one off, bit of cramp or stretchy pain maybe?

@LostinAusten2 good luck today! Hope scan comes quickly for you.

Thanks everyone, cannot wait for scan to be over. Stress does not do me well, sat sweating and feeling sick. Worried about the silliest things - like last time I had a high temp from stress and was 0.2 from cut off and I thought I was to bring urine sample but can't find the pot (which is stupid as I can pee there!). Thankfully dh is going to sit in the car so not going alone until the actual hospital bit ❤️

LexiM · 28/05/2020 07:55

Happy scan day ladies!

@Zaalfruit glad you had a good chat and it was good of the midwife to follow it up and check on you. Sometimes having a big talk to someone else can make such a difference.

I can relate to anyone not sleeping well last night - although I can’t really say why I didn’t sleep well, I was just uncomfortable. @FourPlasticRings that sounds painful, I had some pains last night on the side of my bump too for the first time and they were stronger than normal but doesn’t sound as bad as yours. Hope it was a one off for you.

@blankiesandunicorns I would love to know which next to me is best too. I’m choosing between that and the snuzpod. To me the Chicco looks bigger, but there’s such tiny variations between each model so which is better if any! Hope someone can help 😄

Treacle81 · 28/05/2020 08:24

Morning girls, I went for the snuzpod in the end due to it having storage part underneath. It also matches my bedroom, so will blend in well. @FourPlasticRings I get that when I get up at times or just for no reason, putting it down to RL pain. Last night I slept on my right hand side for a change (know left is best but I get so sore). I slept right through! Great sleep! So maybe try that ones who are struggling, swap side. Good luck today @Quiffy and @LostinAusten2 ❤️xx

Indigogirl88 · 28/05/2020 08:59

Morning everyone good luck today for scans ladies!

I woke up fat and tired, I swear I've grown this past week even dp mentioned something. Put a top on that I havent worn in a week or so and its mucus tighter.

I'm also super tired like first trimester tired!

Cant believe its 18 weeks till the 1st October....best start seriously buying again. I'm torn between two prams either the Maxi Cosi Zelia or the Mamas Occaro, neither of which I can try out. I'm really short so I need to try them.

@FourPlasticRings I'd say it sounds like round ligament pain x

@Treacle81 I think I'm going for the Kinderkraft but then I need to think of storage options

Treaclepie19 · 28/05/2020 09:05

Morning all!
I'm so sore and achey too. Waking up more tired than when I go to bed.

Pram wise we're getting a flip xt3, car seat is cloud z and bedside cot will be the chicco air.

Just need my scan monday so we can get buying 💕💕🤞

OP posts:
otterbaby · 28/05/2020 09:22

Good luck to those with scans today! 💕

Buying a pram is really overwhelming me at the moment. I think we're looking at the babyzen yoyo2 with newborn attachments. But as I research I just find so many options. I think it must just be a case of pick one and be done with it!

Quiffy · 28/05/2020 09:47

Just had the hospital phone and try and move my scan to Monday afternoon. She said I didn't have to agree so I said no I couldn't do Monday and then she sounded really pissed off with me.

I've taken today off work and not being all worked up to wait until Monday. Plus I'm already 21+3 - I'd be 22 weeks on Monday so seems super unreasonable for a 20 week scan when I've seen people say it shouldn't be later than 21 weeks for accuracy. I've not had a scan since 31st March.

So now I have the added anxiety of feeling unwanted 😅 and fully expect to wait for hours so going to take a book to distract myself. The joys of dealing with other people 🙄

BooMamaBear · 28/05/2020 10:01

I I slept so much better last night with a pillow under my bump my hip and back didn't hurt as much!!
Let us know how your scans go!

I think snuz our is a good choice we had it with DD and I really rate it!

Prams/ travel systems are tricky-we got a Venicci ( they're online) one in denim blue with a white frame- really reasonably priced and very manoeuvrable (due to my muscle condition I have to have something easy to change parts on and easy to fold down) comes with carry cot, push chair style seat (rear or forward facing) and car seat , cup holder, matching bag, rain cover and mosquito net ( used when we went abroad!)
There's so much choice I went for one that I liked - it also had a netted air hatch in the carry cot which would open by lifting a flap of the outer covering up so baby didn't get too hot she loved all the seats and I'll be using them again this time! Xxx

Treaclepie19 · 28/05/2020 10:09

Oh @Quiffy thats rubbish. Definitely don't worry about it though, you're well within your rights.
Mine is monday at 21+5 and if they tried to change mine I'd be kicking up a fuss.

Hope all goes well Flowers

FourPlasticRings · 28/05/2020 10:11

Thanks everyone. I'm a bit calmer now in the cold light of day- DD woke me up at four this morning and I think it's easier to panic at that time in the morning. I'm just trying to focus on movements where possible to reassure myself. Doesn't help that it's been a quiet couple of days for bubs- they're usually really active.

@Quiffy I'm glad you've still got your scan booked in. Good luck!

18 weeks to go seems mad. So near and yet so far! My due date is the 1st so I'm 22 weeks today. Time went really fast at the start of pregnancy but it's sort of slowed down since the scan.

@LostinAusten2 good luck for today!

FourPlasticRings · 28/05/2020 10:12

Lots of you are having to have scans quite late on- is that due to COVID?

CouscousEvaporator · 28/05/2020 10:23

I always prefer sleeping on my right @Treacle81 I’ve flipped several times a night since the beginning. If not I get terribly sore hips.
I am SO HEAVY in my pelvis lately. Baby is very low so that’s why. Still not waking in the night to pee. Think I have a very stretchy bladder. 😂
I got the next to me cot with the zip down sides @blankiesandunicorns, seems really sturdy and a nice colour. Thought I’d go for the snuzpod but ended up changing last minute.

BooMamaBear · 28/05/2020 10:29

@Quiffy -what's the point in saying you don't have to agree then getting pissed off if you don't agree! Of course you don't want your scan moved back! Stick to your guns girl! Xx

Zaalfruit · 28/05/2020 10:35

@Quiffy that’s so unfair of them - don’t take it to heart . Someone probably didn’t turn up. I’m waiting on hospital right now to be seen as well .

( just to make you laugh - I got 2 random wispy hairs that have grown on my belly - tempted to pluck it but want to creep dh out for a bit)

I’m thinking maybe to get the mama and papas occara . But no carry cot as I’m lazy and might just keep the buggy open - we have a front porch where we have a shoe box - if I take the shoe box out we should be able to keep it open .

@FourPlasticRings - we are due date buddies :) how old is your dd? I would be such a grump if someone woke me up.

I really like the snuzpod3 but I just can’t justify buying it.

CouscousEvaporator · 28/05/2020 10:36

@Quiffy I don’t think she has any right to get snarky with you. Stick to your guns.

Honestly I know this has been stressful for the midwives and staff but the way I was spoken to at my scan really was just so rude and unnecessary, so sick of it.

@Zaalfruit glad you spoke to your midwife, hope you’re feeling ok today x

Zaalfruit · 28/05/2020 10:37

In*

(I have been changed to a different hospital as they have changed my risk level - which is why I’m having another 20 week scan today. Smaller baby ) Been here since 9.30 waiting to be seen .

CouscousEvaporator · 28/05/2020 10:38

Good luck zaal!
