@CouscousEvaporator how far along are you? I'm hoping to feel more soon! I'm 19+6 today.

CouscousEvaporator · 23/05/2020 15:31

Ahhh I just wrote out a massive reply and lost it all 😭

@roarfeckingroar I’m 21 weeks but have felt movement since 14-15weeks. Think it’s due to it not being fully anterior - my DH has been able to feel baby around the placenta.
I can’t believe it had its legs shut at the scan!! Everyone was waiting for me to tell them and I had to let them all down 🙈

I’m glad snuzpods are getting good reviews, I was looking into these.

Glad also there’s other kitty slaves here. Are any of you irrationally worried the cat will run away when baby is here? I am!! 😭
Are cat nets any good do you know? I’ve thought about getting one but not sure if it’s worth it.

@zaalfruit I hope you feel better about this soon. I have been struggling with not being able to do what I used to and have a bit of fear about how this will change my body. Forever. I think a thoughtless (yet innocent) comment might send the fear over the edge. I really hope you feel better soon.

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy not long to go! Good luck!

LexiM · 23/05/2020 15:45

@Quiffy good job the cat alerted you! Sounds like the kind of thing I would do at the moment.

@couscousevaporator I always wonder how the cat doesn’t fall through the net, mine is quite a big cat.

Earlier we had my Dad’s wedding via zoom, it was actually really lovely and they both seemed so happy which is great. Hopefully he will be well enough to have a party once things change for gatherings. Around 15 sets of people watched it. Feels weird to just go back to a normal day now!

Treacle81 · 23/05/2020 16:58

Aww congrats to your dad and his new wife @LexiM ❤️xx

BooMamaBear · 23/05/2020 17:13

Yuk dunno if you can tell but I've got a little dimple above my belly button that I get before it pops out!! Xx

Zaalfruit · 23/05/2020 23:57

I don’t but I can’t feel kicks or flutters . I can feel my stomach pulse though which annoys me as I feel like I’m feeling heart beat on my lower belly. I googled it and some people can feel their aorta beating .

Thank you everyone for your kind words - dh and me just need space - also I think he turning into a cave man , yesterday he ate crisps in bed about 4am .

LexiM · 24/05/2020 06:00

I’m awake, before 6am on a Sunday, why!!! I shall probably type this, scroll a bit more and fall asleep again 😄

@Zaalfruit I swear I can feel my pulse a lot more all the time when I put my hands on my bump or legs or anything. I find it so weird.

Some people’s body clocks get so messed up by things like Coronavirus restrictions where your routine gets thrown out, my husband is awake a lot later at the moment than usual. Although if he ate crisps in our bed at 4am I would probably throw them at him 😂

Zaalfruit · 24/05/2020 06:24

Like clockwork 6am busting for the loo , bladder feels like it will burst 😂

@LexiM - I really like the name Lexi - wanted to name baby Alexandria - and then Lexi for short and dh response was ‘sexy Lexi’ he is such a plum .

Buzz22 · 24/05/2020 07:07

@Indigogirl88 @Zaalfruit @NWnature thank you girls. That's very kind! Also have this backwards tilted uterus that's keeping the bump small too.

@LexiM @Zaalfruit I've been awake since 6am loo trip! Bladder cannot last the night anymore. Then my hayfever kicked off so theres no going back to sleep for me!

We spent yesterday evening having a think about names now we know shes a girl. Thought we actually had decided but DP is having second thoughts. Struggling with girls names. Had loads of boys names we loved.
I think Alexandria/Lexi is great. I think you manage to find a problem with most names if you think about them enough!

Indigogirl88 · 24/05/2020 07:12

Snap, up at 6.45 and didnt fall asleep till 2. Me and Dh had a conversation about the gender and hes spoke to his friend who aparently agrees with him (which is interesting as he has a girl) and I was out of order for telling him, and that I've robbed him of the surprise! Well I hardly knew what to say, I've had to agree to disagree because I was getting so worked up I could feel her kicking she could clearly feel my anxiety.

After that he seemed to calm down and we have moved on but I could hardly sleep and dp was up as well.

It's so weird because a few weeks back I was adamant team yellow but a gut instinct told me to find out.

I had weird dreams last night @zaalfruit I think it was my anxiety as well

What men dont realise is exactly what we're going through at the moment, they cant be at the scans and so therefore arent bonding the same and going through the stress and anxiety of all the anomalies that are being checked.

It's hard enough being a ftm without that as well. This isn't a rant but more of a realisation of what we are actually going through. I just hope that when our babies come things will be normal and babies are healthy and that's the main thing.

Heres hoping to a stress free Sunday!

HerondaleDucks · 24/05/2020 07:23

I was awake at 3am for ages. The baby was moving around lots and it was so uncomfortable.

Sorry to hear about difficult DHs. I completely agree that the Coronavirus has robbed them of a chance to bond and go through the experience together. So they are just taking our word for it. My DH wasn't even remotely excited until I was about 16 weeks. Seemed so off with me about it.

He's getting there now though.

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday x

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 24/05/2020 08:10

Morning everyone

Yesterday ended up being a busy day after the scan we then did the gender reveal video and then had calls and texts from friends and family for the rest of the night! Was shattered and had really early night!!

Anyway scan went really well. Was so lovely partner could finally see baby he seemed mesmerised and totally in shock that there is actually a baby in there with a beating heart. They turned on the sound so we heard it which was lovely too.

It's a girl 💕💕💕 I am so excited.

I felt she was a girl from day 1 because of all of my symptoms and reading up old wives tales!! So I think I actually bonded with the baby thinking she was a girl so it was lovely that it was the case. We didn't mind either way but deep down I think a tiny bit of me wanted girl!

She's breech though at the min so I need to look into that a bit more!! Xx

BntTowers · 24/05/2020 08:23

@Zaalfruit I get the pulse thing on my stomach too. I'm not sure if I've had movements or not yet, I think maybe a couple of times I've felt the over the hill sensation. Just waiting for Friday to come around for this scan.

I was really hoping the DH would be able to come to this one but it's not looking likely. I think we might book a private one because he hasn't been able to see the baby at all yet. We might wait for a few weeks after this scan though.

I've been wide awake since 6.30, just can't be bothered to get out of bed yet.

Indigogirl88 · 24/05/2020 08:26

I'm thinking of booking a private scan for dp to attend as a surprise but might wait a few weeks to see if everything re opens or not

Are we likely to have any more nhs scans now, I assume it's just if we need a growth scan? My friend said where she lives they do one at 36 weeks routinely

Buzz22 · 24/05/2020 08:29

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy congrats on baby girl 💕 aso lovely your partner could be there.
Dont worry about baby being breech now. I assume you're around 20 weeks? They are still small and move loads. My baby was head down at 20 week scan Friday and I have to go for a re-scan as they wanted her to move so they can finish the measurements and checks.
My friends baby was breech and they start thinking about c section or turning baby I think after about 36 weeks. Her baby turned himself before they tried to manually turn him, then the day before labour turned back to breech and she ended up with c section. Point being theres plenty if time to turn....even right before labour...just hopefully the correct way unlike my friend (although a blessing in disguise as he was 11lbs!!!!)

@Indigogirl88 sorry to hear your husband is still being difficult. Hopefully things will improve soon. I'm sure lockdown doesnt help with anything.
Are they doing private scans in your area that allow partners to go? Maybe that would be worth looking into. I'm sure if he saw her moving around it will feel a bit more real and he'll be happy shes healthy and he can bond more.

Zaalfruit · 24/05/2020 08:50

@Indigogirl88 - your dh will just need to get over it I guess it outs in the open - I feel the same they aren’t bonding as-well - a picture is one thing but being part of the scans and seeing baby measurements and movements will make them instantly fall in love with baby . Once the baby comes I’m sure he will be in awe of her .

I am booking a 4d scan when they open up hopefully before dh bday in July - if you can find a private scan I really think it would be a great bonding experience.

Deffo our anxiety reflects in our dreams - I was anxious about not seeing my parents and I dreamt about them in some weird mixed up dream I was in Durdle door beach driving a speed boat with them .

I do hope you have a lovely Sunday xxx ( my thing if I’m not feeling great lots of snacks and lots of movies just a binge out )

@Buzz22 and @AutumnBabyWinterMummy congratulations on the news of Baby girls !! Yay two more for team girl !!

Team girl is pushing its way forward !

Ahh must have been lovey for your partner to be with you ! In regards to the breech they move lots from now till birth - my sil her baby was breech the whole pregnancy and then a week before he just moved and she gave a V birth .

@BntTowers the pulse thing is so weird right ! Ahh not long till your scan so exciting !!! I wish I had a scan to look forward to once 4d scans are back on - first thing I am booking one x

My message is super long sorry !! Today is meal prep day so will spend most of it cooking and prepping food . I am trying out lots of freezable meals to see what we like and dislike so before baby is born I am organised with meals . Dh cooking isn’t great and I don’t want to live off take outs or Tesco meal deals.

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 09:07

You can often feel to your heartbeat on your tummy due to increased blood flow and more vessels feeding your womb also there is a n main artery that takes blood to your lower limbs!!

20 weeks today!! Coz the days are dragging it feels so much longer at least it usually seems to go faster towards the end! Coz of my muscle condition and my bump my legs are struggling with the extra weight!

@Indigogirl88 - is your Dp a Ft dad too? If so they don't always feel like a dad til the baby cones out! Like now coz we already gave DD my DH knows what it's like to be a dad so he's much more involved this time like he talks to my bump and feels her kicking whereas he wasn't that bothered first time round coz it didn't seem like a real baby to him if you know what I mean!

Quiffy · 24/05/2020 09:41

@Indigogirl88 hope you're okay today with anxiety. Your DP is being ridiculous. Hopefully he just needs some time - lockdown does seem to be sending people loopy over little things. Plus being ftd seems to send men loopy too. They forget how scary it is being responsible for growing the baby. Very loopy times

@LexiM congrats to your dad and his wife, so lovely that they can get married in times like these.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. We had a lovely date night with tasty food and game cube last night. Got the work fear for tomorrow though, hopefully it won't ruin today!

LostinAusten2 · 24/05/2020 09:43

Congrats @AutumnBabyWinterMummy 😊 and that’s so lovely the gender reveal went well. I’d a v quick call with my parents yesterday and for the 1st time talked about some of the old baby gear they have in the attic we could maybe nab - so emotional! 🥰

And sorry to all on the DHs, I think some of will just be lockdown stress as well x

LexiM · 24/05/2020 09:58

Thanks everyone, my dad and his new wife had a lovely day although I expect my dad will need a good rest day today!

Well I was lucky today and fell back to sleep for a few hours.

Totally sympathise with everyone with their partners. I think my husband is quite distant at the moment as he’s a little worried about bonding with the baby when he hasn’t seen/hear it in real life. I think it’s really hard for him but I think once he/she is here he will be fine. We will try and get a private scan but at the moment our local clinic is very vague on whether partners can attend and I don’t want to book one and find he can’t when that was the point in it. Equally I think sometimes my husband thinks it’s all great for me because I still get to see the baby but I do find im anxious because of the fact he can’t.

My MIL has very kindly offered to cook us some freezer meals nearer our due date and she’s a good cook. We know she knows what works well too because she already did it for my SIL last year.

@Zaalfruit it’s funny I’ve heard a few men say they don’t like Lexi because it’s like sexy lexi, but I’ve never had that association!! It is my nickname and I was only really called it since I was a young teenager by family and close friends.

LexiM · 24/05/2020 09:59

Totally forgot to say @AutumnBabyWinterMummy glad your scan went well and congrats on a girl. Team girl are doing well here.

Love hearing all the name discussions, we are waiting at the moment now. My friend said yesterday she’s getting fed up on her husband talking to his mum about names and then she hates them all and voices it - such an error!!

Treaclepie19 · 24/05/2020 09:59

Hi all!
Trying to have a relaxing day here. A Sunday roast collection from my parents house and a nice day of playing switch with our 4yo i think.

Im just wondering about make up. It occurs to me I've barely used mine with lockdown. Normally gets replaced in May because its my birthday month but doesn't really need it this time. Im always a little wary of keeping them open too long but thats probably my OCD talking...

Hope you're okay @Indigogirl88! Sounds like your DP is having a bit of a wobble and not communicating very well?

BooMamaBear · 24/05/2020 10:26

Congratulations on your girl @AutumnBabyWinterMummy! Really glad to scan all went well for you hun!!
Gish can't believe it's still 20 weeks to go coz it feels like the last 20 weeks have taken years!! Xx

Spark27 · 24/05/2020 10:29

Congratulations on the scans ladies. So lovely to see the pics and add more numbers to the team pinks, blues and yellows.

And congratulations to your dad @LexiM. So lovely to hear that somethings are still continuing, even with the craziness of lockdown.

Sorry to hear some are having problems with their DPs. It must be awkward to be going through it first time and for them to not really feel involved. My DH was in Afghanistan for the first 6 months of my last pregnancy (obvs minus conception) and I think he found it odd. Although at least he was around a lot of other people (mostly men) who could share all the guy stories about how it's such a crazy time for women. So I think he was prepared when he got home!

I really feel like I want to do stuff today. I have a desire to achieve things, but dont know what. As it's so late in the month I dont want to start buying things, and I'm bored of making lists, but I have a need to achieve something.....

AutumnBabyWinterMummy · 24/05/2020 10:31

@Buzz22 oh 11 pounds!! Def a blessing! And yes not too worried as loads of time!

@Zaalfruit good idea re meal prep!! I have too much decorating to do to think of that at the moment!!

@BooMamaBear congrats on your halfway! Mines tomo!!

@LexiM @LostinAusten2 thank you!! X
