@lc86 my letter didn’t either, but I’m just assuming it’s a no. I’m planning on ringing to check closer to the time.

DH will be in the car anyway.

lc86 · 21/05/2020 20:48

@YahBasic yes I'll do the same.. fingers crossed something changes before then! x

showmethegin · 22/05/2020 07:48

I asked the midwife during my booking in appt last week and she said no, hoping it changes too!!

december2020 · 22/05/2020 08:00

My 12 week scan letter says no partners or "guests" in bold and underlined 😭 but I'm hoping it'll change by the 20weeks scan so he could come and see it wriggle.

@djmbaker oh no!! I hope your nausea eases soon!! Is there anything that you're still tolerating to eat? I've definitely gone off red meat (no idea why as I love a raw bloody steak) but sausages, mince and the rest just make me feel a bit 🤢. So it's been veggie, fish and chicken heavy meals for me now, poor DH doesn't understand what happened. Ha! For some reason I was all energy yesterday so figured I may as well use it (though of course it's made me a little nervous thinking something is wrong because I felt so normal).

@YahBasic yes! I'm the same, by "my dates" I should be 11+2 or so, but by the NHS LMP dates I'm 12+3. How are you feeling? I'm getting a little nervous as it's getting closer. The 12 week scan feels a bit like an "exam" to see if you've "passed" to the next stage (yet there's nothing you can do about the result).

How is everyone feeling this morning?

cgirl16 · 22/05/2020 08:01

Morning everyone! Was meant to have my early scan today (8+1) but our nanny has coronavirus symptoms so we're all stuck in isolation for another week. Am still feeling so sick 😩
Those of you who've had booking in appts, when are they meant to be? Still not had mine.

ElectricTonight · 22/05/2020 09:04

Morning ladies I'm 8+1 today and my nipples feel like they've been attached to the hoover 😂🙈they look really red and feel bruised, can't face wearing a bra today.

Really craving some juicy fruit and watermelon, also suffering from the constipation it's really not fun.

Keepingcomfy · 22/05/2020 09:28

Hi ladies!

I haven't posted in a while but enjoying keeping up with the thread!

I'm 10w+1 now 😊 At first, I was so worried that because I wasn't being sick, or having some other symptoms that something was wrong. But really, we're all having different experiences! It's amazing!

My main issues have been my exhaustion. I've had low blood pressure and low iron count which has just made me so, so tired. On iron tablets now which has sorted that a little. I'm also just feeling a little under the weather all the time but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyway ... my 12 week scan is 3rd June and I am counting down the days!

(Sorry for the long post, just in a chatty mood 🤣) Have a good day! X

calipoppy · 22/05/2020 09:32

Morning everyone! Hope you all have sunshine again today!
My sickness has really changed, instead of feeling always queasy now I feel fine and then suddenly out of the blue something will make me gag! It can be a smell or it sometimes is just when I try to talk about food 😂
Overall though so much better, we're getting fish and chips tonight and I can't wait!

ElsaCC · 22/05/2020 10:58

@cgirl16 I had my booking appointment a couple of weeks ago. They'll ask you a bunch of questions about your health and of your immediate family as well as your partner's. Ask if you are taking any vitamins, if you've thought about your birthing plan and all those sorts of things. That's when they also get in contact with the local hospital so you'll get the letter for your 12 weeks scan soon after. Its also a very good chance to ask any questions you might have.
With me it was all very chilled, I was lucky and my midwife sounds very nice! 🙂

ElsaCC · 22/05/2020 11:00

just realised you've asked when not what 🙈🙈 I think they should be between 6 and 8 weeks so if you haven't had yours yet might be worth it yo call your gp or try to get in contact with your local birth center

cgirl16 · 22/05/2020 11:16

Thanks so much Elsa! Will call them today x

Katbaby · 22/05/2020 11:37

Morning ladies 😊 I had a longg sleep but it was broken up by sickness at 4.30 this morning. Feeling pretty tender today

@cgirl16 my doctors said they do the booking appointments between 8 and 10 weeks so I guess different areas vary. I'm 8+3 today and I have my phone appointment on Sunday morning. What is frustrating is that they don't give you a time! Just expect me to sit waiting for my phone to ring. Which if It was face to face you would have an appointment time.

Morning ladies, I’ve been lurking in the background again for a while. Just thought I’d pop in to say hi

Still feeling rough with the sickness and exhaustion and I swear if I have one more ‘relaxing’ bath I’m going to start growing scales and a flipper!

Appointments are rolling in now, 12wk scan booked for 16th June, follow up MW appointment for 9th July and we are going to be under consultant due to twins birth weighs being low so that one is the 16th, plus I’ve been told we get 4 extra scans which is exciting.

Really need to go food shopping but it’s such an effort to get ready and drag myself out!

notalwaysalondoner · 22/05/2020 12:27

@cgirl16 I’ve got my booking appointment tomorrow and I’ll be 8+5. It’s with the hospital rather than through the GP as that’s how my local system works (London). So I’ve also already had my scan date confirmed - 15th June.

I also have my early scan tomorrow - so a big “baby day!!”. DH is allowed to come which is great, I’m hoping it will make it feel more real to him. I haven’t had many symptoms at all except bigger, sore boobs so it’s not like he’s had to nurse me through morning sickness etc.

How do you all feel about the crisis? I must admit if I’d known that it was likely measures would continue into 2021 I might have delayed TTC a bit - really not ideal if NCT classes can’t meet in person, friends and family can’t visit freely etc. I know it’s too early to say but I’m getting increasingly worried that even after my due date things will be really restricted and that’s not what I want at all - I was always very worried about being isolated on maternity leave as none of my family live nearby (3+ hours away) and few of our friends have kids, and so if the opportunity to make new friends is removed I’m quite worried...

Hi everyone!

First time poster and mum. I'm 10 weeks and three days and my little one is due on 15th December.

I'm quite nervous and we haven't told anyone yet, but luckily I have a very supportive and excited husband.

I had my first midwife appointment last week and was told my scan letter would follow in the post. However, I've not received anything. How quickly does the letter come through?

We are desparate to tell people, but want to wait until we have the scan.

Rnic1x · 22/05/2020 13:03

@bluejayway91 I had my letter within 2 days, but my 12 week scan I will be 13+4 . Congratulations, we haven't told anybody either it's so hard to keep it in xx

Bumble84 · 22/05/2020 13:12

Just got my scan letter in, eek, makes it all feel real now. It’s on 17th June and I’ll be 13 weeks by then. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that all is well and I can relax a bit after that! It’s going to be a long 3+ weeks!

ReocBr · 22/05/2020 13:28

Hello everyone,
I'm completely new on here and completely new to all of this!
I had my booking appointment on Monday at bang on 8 weeks. Our 12 week scan will be 12+2 on the 17th June - same as you @Bumble84!
I think we have been given a vague date of the 27th December at the moment... I felt amazing until about 10 days ago. Now pretty constant nausea although I haven't actually been sick. I basically just go from feeling sick, to feeling sick and very hungry and never have an appetite until I'm actually eating something... Loving pasta, bread, thai food and anything spicy.
Its a funny time in the world and I wouldn't usually sign up to a forum, but actually as I feel a bit isolated not being able to see my friends (or really tell anyone yet) it's nice to see so many people in the same boat as me!!
xx

Bluejayway91 · 22/05/2020 13:53

@Rnic1x thank you! And congratulations to you too.

Well, after all that worry my appointment has just come through. 8th June, so I'll be 12 + 6. Cannot wait to see our little one 😊

LoveSunshine01 · 22/05/2020 14:06

@Rnic1x I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious, must have been scary!

I'm having my first properly normal day in ages! I even managed to concentrate for the whole morning at work which is the first time in a couple of weeks!

I'm really nervous about telling people, our 12 week scan is on 1st June, but I'm really enjoying keeping it just between the two of us! Anyone else feel that way or is everyone excited?

Rnic1x · 22/05/2020 14:14

Sorry baby brain I posted all my details on last pic 😂😂

So this morning has been a nightmare... I had loads of pain last night so called midwife today and they got me up hospital straight away, after scans and tests I have a water infection, wouldn't have even thought as I wee loads anyway. But managed to see baby again moving around and I'm now 5 days ahead of what they thought so not a Christmas day baby now due on 20th... Little monkey causing hassle already but all is good.

Christmas babies thread 3!
Rnic1x · 22/05/2020 14:15

@LoveSunshine01 thank you, I wouldn't have ever thought a water infection could cause pain like that 🙈 I cant wait to tell our close family ❤️

ew1990 · 22/05/2020 16:50

I have a scan tomorrow due to pain. I'm so nervous. It's awful

makingababy · 22/05/2020 18:56

Sorry to hear that @ew1990

I know it sounds daft but try to relax. Just earlier today there was an example of pain being caused by cystitis - it could be anything with all our bodies are going through xx
