Hi to all the new ladies 🖑

Had some awful pains these last couple of days. Really sharp shooting pains. Nipped into EPAU today and they've took my bloods and booked me in for a scan on Saturday morning. Hope everythings ok now

I didn't see the new thread post !!!
I thought it was so quiet !

Hey guys. Wrote a long post and I've lost it !
I went for my scan yesterday in chester. I won't post where but I don't recommend it.
I was in and out the door in less than ten minutes including the paperwork and payment of £70
Spent most of the time looking at ovaries and showed me the baby and the heartbeat for about thirty seconds or less.
I wasn't offered a vaginal scan even though the scan wasn't clear. I had explained about the UTI and bladder issues and I drank 1l of water on the journey. So it was disappointing and I'm glad I have another booked elsewhere for this week.
On the bright side...
I saw the baby, and the baby had a heart beat and is in the right place which I was worried about with all the UTI pain etc.
So it was nice and reassuring !
They pushed me back a little to EDD of 4/01 which is my birthday too.
I'm still hoping this one follows suit and comes at 39 weeks as my birthday is a rubbish date as an adult 😂😂 of course any day will be fine. Although I don't know if we will be classed as a Christmas baby anymore 😔

I can't wait to get out of this rubbish first (worst) trimester and start to feel normal again and let myself get excited. X

It's not letting me add my own pictures. Only take one on here. I'll have to wait for DP to come back as he's popped the pics somewhere to hide from the boys. I have a video of the scan too although it's hard to make anything out x

Hi All, a newbie here on Mumsnet! Just had an early scan today and confirmed 8 wks 6 days so due 22nd December. Feeling good so far with not many symptoms. So excited to start speaking to some other mums to be due around the same time.

Hey again ladies, yay for thread 3!

Sort of floating between here and the January thread. My original estimated DD was xmas day. Then my early scan said Jan 1st, I could be December or jan really I guess!

7+3 now, main thing I've been struggling with is just extreme exhaustion. My sickness comes and goes 😔

Got my first midwife consultation Friday, it's a phone call so fingers crossed 🤞

Hoping I can join, I've been lurking too long...

8+2 today which gives me a 28th December due date but my first was induced 12 days over so, if that is any indicator guess I might be later?! Had my midwife call yesterday and go in for bloods etc tomorrow, no scan date yet - lovely to see those who have had scans! My husband can join for the 12 week scan but not the 20 week currently - but that assumes we have a childcare option for the 12week scan.

Constant nausea since week 6, but last time this eased at 12weeks so I am holding out for then. I can confirm it is 100x worse if you are chasing a toddler and can't escape the house.

My first was actually due 7th Dec and born 20th Dec so looks like Dec will be a crazy month for our family now...

@ew1990 I hope your scan is OK and baby is fine, fingers crossed for you.

Morning everyone. Been a rough night and morning for me was sick early hours then couldn't sleep and been sick a few times this morning. Feeling like death but really want to pull myself together to wash my hair and get sorted just don't have the energy

Someone come wash my hair for me!? Haha

Getting really nervous for my scan tonight now I'm excited but also so scared like I feel like it's gonna make it seriously real and I don't know how I feel about that! I guess it's just hitting me now what a big deal having a baby is..

Sorry I've been quiet lately, not much to report, been feeling fine and nausea has subsided, 9 weeks today.
I was supposed to have my booking in appointment at 10am today but no one has called me! I called the appointment line and they said the midwife may call me at any time today which is annoying as I'm WFH so it's tricky to get out of the meetings I've got scheduled if she does call at an inconvenient time....A bit frustrated tbh as if it was a face to face appointment it would be at a set time, I wouldn't be waiting at the hospital all day until they were free. Hopefully they will call soon and it'll be fine, will have to try really hard not to be annoyed as don't want to get off on the wrong foot if I have to see them for the pregnancy duration. Hope everyone is doing ok x

Does anyone else panic if they aren’t sick (ridiculous I know) the last few days I have been sick all morning and only started feeling a bit better in the evening but today I haven’t been sick yet so worried something is wrong 😩 I am 9weeks + 2

Can I join? Due NYE, will be my 2nd baby if all well

kidsareok · 19/05/2020 11:51

@PocoyoandEllie I am also 9+2 and have noticed I'm slightly less sick than other days and food isn't smelling so bad today! My sickness happens mainly in the evenings though but I did manage to keep a lot more food down yesterday than usual and I'm not gagging when I'm drinking water. I had a MMC last July so I'm constantly freaking out this time - I just want the 12 week scan to be over, I'm dreading it because of how excited I was last time and the awful empty feeling afterwards. I'll be happy when I hear a heartbeat! Such a stressful trimester!

Hi everyone!

I'm 10 weeks today! Starting to feel a bit better, less nauseous but MAN are my moods all over the place! Anyone else? Had a massive argument with my other half yesterday just cos he said he wanted to cut down on carbs this week Blush

Also, am very proud of myself as I managed to actually do some exercise today! First time in about 2 weeks! Grin

Good luck to everyone with scans!!

@kidsareok Sorry for your previous loss ❤️

2 of my close friends have had MMC so it seems much more common than is made out and its what I am most worried about

Report
kidsareok · 19/05/2020 12:04

@PocoyoandEllie ahh please try not to worry 💖. Even though it's the hardest thing trying not to! I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine!!

Tentatively saying hi. I'm 10 weeks today following an MMC and an early MC, awaiting my scan (3 weeks left). I've worked out I'm due on Christmas Day (slightly longer cycles). Decided against early scans as they wouldn't give me enough reassurance so now on a countdown till my NHS scan. @LoveSunshine01 you made me laugh, I had a go at DH for wanting to eat too many carbs this week 😂 I've been nauseous and more tired, with quite a few food and smell aversions, but coping overall. Good luck everyone 🍀

Hey ladies! Is anyone planning on wearing gloves/mask to their hospital scan? I was think about it as I would need to order them soon as my scan is 3 weeks away but not sure if it's necessary!

Mia198 · 19/05/2020 12:33

Hey everyone, 8 weeks today i think, due around 29th December. Nice to be back reading everyone's lovely news, sending solidarity for all the first trimester symptoms, i'm really struggling with the tiredness.

@LoveSunshine01 i had to smile at your post, i am exactly the same, yesterday i chucked the tv remote on the floor and broke it because i was so moody!! (i'm not a violent person haha!) - the reason for my mood is even funnier, OH accidentally set two alarms through alexa whilst i was trying to nap!!

i've got my first scan on the 15th June, nothing on my letter about no partners allowed but i'm guessing he won't be :-( will ring the day before to double check but i think i've accepted it is what it is!

Report
calipoppy · 19/05/2020 12:36

@jasminex1 at my early scan at the EPU and at my booking bloods I was given a mask and asked to hand sanitise on my way in and out. Don't know if it's the same everywhere but might be worth calling to check so you don't have to worry about getting your own!

@calipoppy thank you! I will check with them, I hope it's the same. It's just going to be so strange going into a hospital at a time like this

@Shuff94 Snap! Same dates as me!

@Mia198 TBH sounds like he got of lightly! Naps are sacred Grin

@MrsMGE I'm very impressed that you want less carbs! I'm completely hooked on crumpets and toast.

Masks: I actually have 2 scans booked so my OH can come to the private one. For the private scan I have to either bring my own or pay £1 for one, NHS one they're providing the mask.

Report
MrsMGE · 19/05/2020 13:16

@LoveSunshine01 Honestly, I'm only cutting down on carbs since last week. White toast was king for the first two months, also mashed potatoes, pasta and all things beige! I must have gone through at least 2 weeks not touching anything fresh, so I'm making sure to eat as much fruit and veg as possible now. Still though, pasta, cheese and potatoes remain very popular 😂 I also went through an obsession with citrusy flavours earlier and all of a sudden red meat and haddock are huge no-nos 😂 It's so random.

I've not been told anything about my scan, I had to ring and book it myself and they didn't say what to bring. I planned to wear a mask and gloves and will be doing the same for my private Panorama test (which I'll have after my NHS scan, all goes well).
