We’ve told our immediate family and some of our closest friends - and told some of them really quite early! Like my sister knew the day after I found out, I couldn’t keep it in 😂

We waited until after private scans to tell more than the people I really needed to tell.

Won’t tell others like all friends groups and work until after the dating scan x

djmbaker · 12/06/2020 10:34

Fab, my partner wants to tell everyone now. We've done the immediate family, told his nan and auntie yesterday which was lovely. So he said the weekend we should just do it?
His cousin has just had a baby so I think we will wait until a few days after she has announced her arrival .. we don't have any of the same friends but I wouldn't want anyone to think we are raining on their news you know!

Bumble84 · 12/06/2020 11:00

@Katbaby I’m with you on being worried about the weight gain. It seems superficial to worry about but like you I’ve spent a long time trying to reduce and maintain my weight. I know I’ll put weight on and that doesn’t bother me so much it’s trying to control and know what is baby and what is just plain fat! I’ve put on 3.5lbs so far. I’m trying to go by the guidelines of what is normal to gain through the trimesters.

Honestly the last few weeks because my nausea left me I have been eating everything in sight (mainly crisps and cheese!!) I need to treat my body and baby with good nutrition and trust my body to do it’s thing!

Jasminex1 · 12/06/2020 11:04

Had my hospital scan yesterday and baby is now due Christmas Eve! @djmbaker and @Gingernutlady I think we'll do the same and say around Christmas time 😊

We've only told parents so far, we decided to wait until we have the screening and blood results back as I had all my booking bloods done at the hospital yesterday. This final wait to tell everyone is so hard!😂

Katbaby · 12/06/2020 11:11

@Bumble84 I know I feel so superficial, especially since at my booking in I weighed slightly underweight so I'm getting extra scans later in my pregnancy anyway so I should be glad I'm starting to put weight on but I think I have issues with body image.

I think it's made a little worse by the fact that it just feels fat rather than bump

@Katbaby I know exactly what you mean. I have major issues around body weight/image. More than one person has told me I have body dysmorphia over the years. I am finding it quite difficult but I’m hoping when a bump appears I’ll feel better x

LoveSunshine01 · 12/06/2020 11:28

So ready for a bump! I've never felt so fat in my life! I keep prodding it and going 'fat or bump? fat or bump???'. Pretty sure my husband thinks I'm losing it 😂

LoveSunshine01 · 12/06/2020 11:30

So nice to hear others going through the same thing (sorry!) X

sgray01 · 12/06/2020 11:48

Hey guys, had my dating scan today now 11+4, baby was a little monkey and wouldn't stay still at all! Was up all last night worrying myself sick that baby wouldn't have a heartbeat. Now I'm just waiting on the baby bump and not this chub!

We had the 12 week scan on a Wednesday, told immediate family and friends on Saturday and wider circle on Sunday (as everything was ok on scan as well as NT mm)

I got my combined test results on the Tuesday (so a week later) and it was low probability. This was my only "crap should we have waited" moment before reading the letter just incase the results were high probability.

One more for worrying about gaining weight. I'm fine with gaining weight from the baby and all the necessary weight that comes with it, I just want to make sure I'm still keeping healthy and not gaining for unhealthy reasons.

calipoppy · 12/06/2020 13:45

So with you all on just feeling fat and bloated! Can't wait for it to actually be a bump! Also to move up a bit, does anyone else find it painful sitting upright?! I have to lean back to take the pressure off! 😂

I'm getting excited to start buying things now, although a bit overwhelmed where to begin!

djmbaker · 12/06/2020 14:12

@calipoppy yes!!! At the end of the day I can't wait to just lie down.. it's weird. Like my muscles are saying it's getting too much for them 😂😂

I'm having a shit day, I was sick this morning.. and I am absolutely exhausted. I've got so many jobs to do and I'm still not even dressed 🥺 never wanted my mum to come round and help me more 😂

Natt99 · 12/06/2020 15:20

Afternoon everyone, had my 12 week scan today. It was quite eventful! All was well but baby was in an awkward position so she couldn't get the measurement so I had to get up and do a "belly dance" 🤣 that didn't work so I had to go for a walk and then go back for another scan! It was better 2nd time and she got what she needed but didn't get as lovely pics as some of you girls.
We made this to send to some of our family we can't tell face to face though 😊

Wish I would know either way on the tests, they said they will only get in contact if it's bad new. If not I'll be told results at 16 week appt

Natt99 · 12/06/2020 15:22

Sorry here's the pic

We called up the midwife about paperwork a few weeks ago as they'd mentioned it would get posted to me, and they offered on the phone to tell me test results! So for people who feel anxious not knowing maybe it's worth calling to see if they can tell you :)

djmbaker · 12/06/2020 16:05

Excuse the fact I'm both stood on the sofa and my messy house is in the background.. but this is the only mirror in the house where I can get a photo 😂😂
I've woken up this morning to this.. I've got a mini bump!!!
Or just a truck load of wind is trapped in there 😂

emmalily9 · 12/06/2020 18:13

@djmbaker are they maternity jeans? They look really comfy!

ElsaCC · 12/06/2020 18:18

Had the letter with the NT results through today and all is well. Very low chances for all they tested, that was a weight of my chest!
I'm with you on the weight worries but today I thought I could see a bump already. I asked my sister and she said I look slimmer than before. Probably because I lost 7lbs from being sick so much.
I cant wait to be showing but at the same time dont want to show because it feels so good to have this little secret 🙂
Also had my letter with the 20 week scan booked for the 3rd of August and booked the well being and gender scan with window to the womb for the 8th of July. Cant wait to have another scan it's very addictive

emmavictoria89 · 12/06/2020 18:38

Had my dating scan a few days ago, both my little ones were very active and gave the sonographer a hard time with measurements! Just awaiting bloods back. Due 22nd Dec but will come earlier as twins do!
Got my 20 week letter for 5th august.
Have been thinking about booking in an early gender scan with window to the womb too though, just so I can be double sure and confirm at the 20 week scan. (And also cause I'm impatient and want to know already hehe)

Lovely seeing everyone's scans! What a wonderful bunch of festive babies we will have Smile

@emmalily9 they are just ASOS maternity leggings. Xx

LoveSunshine01 · 13/06/2020 09:39

Unravelling the fat/bump question: 'bump' has reduced by about 70% overnight. Damn bloating.

december2020 · 13/06/2020 11:05

Looking fab @djmbaker !!

lc86 · 13/06/2020 12:17

Love seeing all the pics.. 15 weeks tomorrow with my 3rd baby 💙💜

Today is the first day in three months I've done my hair and make up, actually woke up with some energy this morning! Hope it continues 🤞🏼

Penguin92 · 13/06/2020 13:19

Anyone also had low PAPP-A on their bloods? All low change on all three trisomies but low PAPP-A, and advised to start taking a low dose of aspirin! I’m a bit worried about taking aspirin without talking to the midwife so will be calling first thing Monday.
