@PocoyoandEllie I would tell them directly rather than by email... apart from anything else then you can gauge the reaction and don't have to wait nervously for a reply. Having said that, I haven't built up the nerve to do it yet 😂

It seems we’ve all got at least something that upsets us and worries us about what others think. Work, lockdown, exercise and weight. To hell with all the haters eh! I hate people being judgmental. Everyone has a different life and people really should keep opinions to themselves but unfortunately they don’t! I’m trying to develop a different mindset that they are not in my life so they cannot judge my decisions but it is easier said than done!

Is 13 weeks technically second trimester or is it 14 weeks? im 13 weeks 4 days, I second a PP, not excited yet. hopefully that comes soon. im worried about Gender Disappointment, its my third and every one wants it to be a girl, id love a girl bur what if it isn't? will they just not care anymore?.

Per the NHS, second trimester starts with Week 13

I like the sound of the well-being+gender scan. Though, the window to the womb near me has been really funny with letting one person with you in. Or they were with us for the early scan and didn't let DH in, then I found out the same branch was happily letting other couples in (with no essential or medical requirement, just so their partner could attend), so I'm a bit put off by them now.
For now we're waiting till the 20week scan! I am feeling a little curious and impatient though.

Dating scan this morning!

Baby was being a bit lazy, after waving, they rolled over so we could only see their back and refused to move back.

After a bit of shuffling, walking, coughing, the sonographer finally got a quick shot before they rolled over again. So picture isn't the best quality but all looks ok . Due date given as Dec 19th.

Hello ladies!

First time posting here, had my dating scan this afternoon measuring 13+3 with a due date on 14th Dec. Absolutely thrilled and relieved all looking good so far. I've been lurking here for ages now, but was too worried to post anything before scan. First baby and am only 24, so been a nervous wreck these past few weeks!
It's been lovely reading your posts along the way, feeling much less alone. Very excited to be finally able to talk about the weird and wonderful pregnancy things :)

Is any else experiencing random stabbing pains that last literally seconds around what I presume is where the baby is?

@PocoyoandEllie yes I've been getting them! Mine are like little lightening strikes, different to anything I've had before so must be the baby. Think it's totally normal.
Got my scan tomorrow morning 😬

Hope everyone is doing ok today. I'm so glad I'm passed the sickness feeling felt normal apart from tired for about 5 weeks now thank god!

@PocoyoandEllie I've been getting weird cramps... nothing extreme but definitely low down and yes, I suppose like a lightening strike? I read online there's a thing called lightening crotch 😂😂 where you feel like you have an electric shock right down below 🙈
I've been worrying about my cramps but I am pretty sure it's a mixture of wind and everything growing as the baby was perfectly fine on Wednesday.
I feel more worried after my dating scan than I have before, I just really want everything to be ok.
One week left of the first trimester... can't wait to enter the second! Hoping it's full of pregnancy glow and energy like we are promised 😂😂

Morning girls been a bit quiet the last couple days as not a lot to share.

Thanks @Rnic1x I'm still having sickness daily but some days are easier than others! Hoping that once I get to that magic 12 /13 weeks that it starts to give me days off 😂

I'm back up at pre pregnancy weight now, I lost 4 pounds by week 7 /8 due to sickness but since I've had a better appetite I'm back up at the weight I was when I got my positive.

I know it's bad but I'm getting nervous for weight gain. I know that I'm supposed to gain weight but I've spent the last 7 years very in control of my weight, gyming regularly etc. Because I've been too ill to exercise I'm scared of losing all control of my weight.

Loving the scans ❤️❤️ 4 days to go until I get to see my little bean.

Yes to the stabbing pains I had them quite bad last night!!

@katbaby ohh good I'm so happy you get to see them in 4 days. We've booked an early gender scan for 3 weeks tomorrow I can't wait! It's so surreal now everybody knows I've already had people buying for baby ❤️😂

@Rnic1x I can imagine it's weird it not being a secret anymore. I actually can't wait for everyone to know. Especially my sister I can't believe I haven't caved and told her yet! I can't wait to see her face and my grandmas! My gran has been hinting at us giving her a great grandchild for ages 🤣

@katbaby it's so lovely telling people my mam burst out crying 😂 she hasn't stopped talking baby since, it's her first grandchild so she can't wait x

I had a window to the womb scan in Wednesday and my NHS scan thursday. Both went really well! Baby was on its belly on Weds. Not moving too much, just chilling. On Thurs it was on it's back and rolling around moving legs and arms like crazy!

My dates give me a due date of 24th Dec. Window to the womb gave me 23rd Dec. NHS gave me 22nd Dec.

Safe to say it isn't an exact science, so we're just going to announce due Christmas time.

@PocoyoandEllie I get little cramps and stretching pains all the time. It's definitely just my womb growing and stretching. Occasionally I get what I assume is 'lighting crotch' very sharp very sudden stabs downwards. Again, theres a lot going on down there. And stuff growing and moving that's never had to do it before!

@Gingernutlady I'm the same as you! Window to the womb said 25th December.. hospital said 26th.. so we are saying Christmas time to!

Those who have announced it to everyone, were you 12 weeks? So did it after your dating scan? xx

@djmbaker yes we announced it after my NHS scan I was 12+3 xxx

I have my scan on Monday, then if all is well, will announce to my friends etc then.

Has anyone thought about when you will start maternity leave etc?

Long way off I know, but trying to figure out holiday days etc x
