I'm due Christmas Day Daffodil

december2020 · 07/06/2020 06:13

Awww I hope all the symptoms ease up for everyone feeling so rubbish! And woohoo! For the people they already have. It's definitely made making me feel like a new person!

We told the in laws yesterday, it took them a while to believe us "no you're not pregnant 😂😂" but after staring at the scan through the video call for a while there was lots of happy tears from them 😂

How is it Sunday already? I feel the weeks just swoosh by!! Before you know it we'll be doing 20 week scans!!

december2020 · 07/06/2020 06:16

Thinking of you today @djmbaker 💐

@GlassboatSailor yes with headaches for me! It's the one damn lingering symptom that won't go away! Doesn't help that with my work I stare at a laptop screen day in day out!

emmalily9 · 07/06/2020 08:40

Slightly random I know but has anyone had to buy new bras yet? I don't really know what to do as we obviously can't go get measured but I feel like I'm growing daily

Natt99 · 07/06/2020 08:49

@emmalily9 yes I had to buy new bras about a month ago as the underwire was killing me! Same as you, feel they grow bigger every day!
I got a load of non wired ones from m and s which are lovely. I got a cup size bigger but got the same back size which was a mistake! Ended up buying an extender from amazon for a couple of pounds so they fit perfectly now. So I would definitely recommend trying to measure yourself at home (unlike me) as both sizes might increase.
Jojo mama Bebe had some nice ones too but a bit more expensive so will invest in them closer to birth as they act as nursing bras too

emmalily9 · 07/06/2020 08:53

@Natt99 glad it's not just me then! It's like an absolute minefield. I keep looking online but no idea really where to start. I was thinking m&s though as I like their bras so I'll have another look there today! See if DH will help me measure 😂 seraphine maternity also seem to have nice stuff which I think I may look at closer to the time but if I order any clothes from there may give a bra a go!

MaverickDanger · 07/06/2020 09:50

Yep me @emmalily9 - I was a 30GG/32G before and now wearing 34H. Mainly bikini tops as they are just a bit more comfortable.

I’m struggling to find non wired bras in my cup size. Most of them are Large etc, and I’m probably needing XXL at the moment.

I’ve got a few to return so have been working my way through Figleaves and Brastop.

december2020 · 07/06/2020 10:11

@emmalily9 me too! Since I'm an awkward size and of course we can't get measured now I've hedged my bets and ordered one of those "stretch bras" that cover a few cup sizes (I'm usually a DD and this should cover up to an H) and will hope for the best lol! Waiting for it to arrive now as I'm busting out of my current bras 😬

emmalily9 · 07/06/2020 10:16

@MaverickDanger I'm impressed. I thought mine were awkward at a 32FF. I've got sports bras but I'm finding them a bit too compressive at the moment - I usually run so that's why it's high compression. I'm not feeling that there are too many options for maternity bras, nursing bras there's a few.
@december2020 where did you order from? Very intrigued by that one. I'd be happy if I could find bralettes at the moment but struggling to find any

makingababy · 07/06/2020 10:40

I got some stretchy maternity bralettes from Sainsbury’s the other day when I was in for a normal shop. Much more comfortable now and the straps don’t show through loose collars like all the sports bras I had been wearing did x

december2020 · 07/06/2020 11:02

@emmalily9 www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/emma-jane-seam-free-maternity-nursing-bras-b7522.html this is the one I ordered and now hoping for the best that it remotely fits (at least better than my current bras).

emmalily9 · 07/06/2020 11:18

@december2020 that looks really good. Think I may come order one
@makingababy interested that Sainsbury's do them! May have to make a trip today to have a look and get a few bits

Kirsty9130 · 07/06/2020 11:18

Morning Ladies, hope you are all doing well, amazing seeing the scans now and the twins , wow, so exciting!!
I'm 14 weeks today and yesterday I actually felt completely normal, I got loads of housework done (I actually cleaned the ovenShock) and it was our 10 year anniversary so we actually sat and had a take away and watched a film together, and stayed up past midnight, which was crazy considering I've been going to bed the same time as my 3yo for weeks now haha.
We've booked a private scan for 2 weeks today and I'm already feeling anxious, hoping things are still okay. We're hoping to find out the gender too so we can do a little gender reveal with our families on zoom or something so it's really exciting! Is anyone else finding out the gender? I just don't think I have the patience to wait until baby is here 😂 x

viixie · 07/06/2020 11:27

I have my scan tomorrow at 9:10 ShockShock----

Not sure how to feel, it's all a bit surreal with everything going on at the moment and this baby wasn't planned.

According to my last period (11th March) my due date should be 16th December. I have a feeling the baby has got to be later than that though. I've got to have ovulated late for me to even be pregnant HmmGrin

ReocBr · 07/06/2020 11:43

Hello everyone Smile
I had an early scan for the Harmony test today (thanks for the recommendation @makingababy). Everything went fine and the baby was really active (probably because I had just had breakfast). My husband is mega excited, I just feel completely shell shocked... it all seems so much more real. I don't do well with change in general and I think it has really hit home just how much our life is going to change!

I really would highly recommend Ultrasound Direct, they were so professional and just lovely in general. OH was allowed in too which made a huge difference to him. I think we get the results of the blood test in about 7-10 days and we also find out the sex then too which is just crazy!

Has anyone told their work yet? I'm probably most nervous about telling them out of everyone...

Hope everything goes well for the others that has scans today Flowers

ReocBr · 07/06/2020 11:44

Oh I forgot to say she put me as 10+4 with a due date of 30th Dec Smile

calipoppy · 07/06/2020 11:48

Lovely scan @ReocBr and don't worry you have plenty of time to prepare yourself for all the change (that's what I keep telling myself at least! 😅)

I told my manager at 9 weeks, I hadn't planned to but I was so ill and needing quite a few days off, I trust him not to tell anyone else until I give the go ahead and it's actually been such a big relief to be able to be honest when I've been unwell the last few weeks! I think it totally depends on who your manager is and how comfortable you feel telling them though!

lc86 · 07/06/2020 11:48

@Kirsty9130 we have the same due date 😊 we also have a private scan booked but for two weeks yesterday, hoping they can tell us the sex a day earlier than 6 weeks 🙏🏼 I tried to get the Sunday for Father's Day but they had no appointments left

Kirsty9130 · 07/06/2020 12:00

@lc86 aww it's so exciting isn't it!? Yeah I'm sure a day shouldn't be a problem, I didn't even realise it was Father's Day when I booked it, I don't think my partner will be able to come in with me as we don't have anyone to look after our little boy because of Corona :( but as long as baby is okay that's all that matters. 2 weeks can't go quick enough now, I thought I'd relax after the 12 weeks scan, which I did, for like a day then started to feel anxious again 😂 x

lc86 · 07/06/2020 12:04

@Kirsty9130 aww you'll have to think of an exciting way to tell them both what you're having 😊 I know what you mean, I feel like now we've had our dating scan I just want a scan every week to check on baby 🙊 I'm so impatient anyway so having to wait for everything is killing me! x

Bumble84 · 07/06/2020 12:05

@ReocBr I told my manager as soon as we found out. My work are shielding pregnant women so I didn’t really have a choice. I had to explain why I wasn’t going to be able to leave the house. She was very happy for me. I wasn’t nervous about telling work at all though, can’t really explain why but I don’t work in the type of job where there’s only one of me so that maybe helps.

lc86 · 07/06/2020 12:29

I told my boss as soon as I found out as wanted to be able to work from home and not risk going into the office. I work for a big company though and she has been very supportive

djmbaker · 07/06/2020 13:51

Thankyou @december2020 ... everything was perfect. I'm 11+2 so at least that means at my dating scan I'll be 11+5 so almost.. 12.. so hoping I don't have to go back for another scan the following week - we shall see.
It's so hard to believe that's in my tummy! It's mind blowing.
I think I need to order some decent bras myself now... plus a bloody pregnancy pillow!! I am seriously struggling to get comfy at night 😩
