@Anon20something with regards to movements, it’s so understandable that you are worrying about them and don’t know what is ‘normal’, all babies are different anyway (as the replies from some of the others on here demonstrate), but then you have your experience with Lily as well so of course it’s going to be extra anxiety inducing for you. I just wanted to say to you, but also anyone else worrying about movements - it’s always absolutely fine to call you local maternity assessment unit any time of day if you are concerned about the movements. Once you are past 24 weeks they should always invite you in for a check over and monitoring of baby’s heartbeat. And before 24weeks they should arrange community midwife to have a listen in for reassurance. It’s never a waste of time to get checked, and fine to go lots of times during the pregnancy. Also fine (and typical!) that when you get there and put on the monitor that baby starts wriggling all over the place. It’s so hard because when we are at home we don’t really have any other way of monitoring our baby’s wellbeing apart from movements.

When I had my son (12years ago) I remember sitting at home worrying and prodding my bump, but there wasn’t so much awareness then about fetal movements (eg the ‘kicks count’ campaign etc). Nowadays it is most definitely encouraged to go in if any concerns, and I think that is great!

@MysteriousSheep thank you! That’s really good advice too - every time I’ve been they’ve always been lovely. I worry so much and I know I’d find the assessment unit massively triggering, I was there with lily loads and the last time I had to stay over night, we found out something was very wrong as she wasn’t moving at all, had consultants in, loads of scans, sent to delivery and then rushed to see a specialist before finding out, was just awful! I’m nearing the point in this pregnancy when that all started so I think it’s a mix of fear, anxiety and probably a lot of undiagnosed ptsd!

Gosh you absolutely dont need to apologise for being worried @Anon20something you are in an anxious period of your pregnancy! And that is after all what this thread is here for! If you have worries then you are right to share them, someone will always have something to say to make you feel better (or at least listened to!!)

@Anon20something with @whiffle77 you've got nothing to apologize for! Pregnancy after loss is always an anxious difficult time, but honestly those of you who've had late losses and still manage to function, never mind be pregnant against n are absolute warriors!

I also agree with @MysteriousSheep they're never going to roll their eyes or think you're wasting their time if you go and get checked out. I have a fried who went in several times because she was totally freaking out, even though her husband could see the baby moving. I literally had the conversation with the midwife yesterday of anything changes you call and go straight in, don't wait, don't mess about, movement is our best indicator that things are going well. She also mentioned the sooner that you go in, if there is something wrong the better the chance they can help. I know that your situation with Lily was different and rare and I can understand that going in might cause you more anxiety than relief. But honestly if you need to go in every few days during this extra stressful but the staff are just going to take really good care of you x

I had another good appointment yesterday, got more blood drawn, and I got to hear the heartbeat, which never gets old. I've once again been told it's an excellent strong heartbeat which is really reassuring.

I don't quite know how another week has gone by 🙈 it really does feel like time is flying now.

We've managed to book our little babymoon, snapped up a holiday cottage about an hour away in a lovely little village, so heading there in a couple of weeks which is exciting.

Another week for me too! Another fast one! Great news on your baby moon @knotemma we have booked somewhere for a couple of days too, and I cant wait! Just a couple of days away somewhere different will be lovely!
We were hoping to go abroad one last time before baby comes but I cant see how that will happen now unfortunately.

Welcome @Kangaroo77 I'm also pregnant after 2 TMFRs. I'm 5+5 today so it's nice to have someone at a similar stage on here. How are you feeling? I feel like time is standing still. Just want to fast forward to the 12 week scan!

@Seahawk80 awww hello. Yes it's lovely to meet people in same boat. I feel a bit queasy and tired at night but nothing crazy. I've booked in a private 6 week scan and hoping to get an 8 week hospital one then private harmony testing at 10 weeks. I'm anxious but optimistic. Really hoping it's all ok. How about you? Xxx

Well my positive day started with me crying down the phone to the unsuspecting midwife assistant who rang me today 🙈 she was ringing to introduce herself and discuss my birth plans, bonding with bump, feeding etc and it just all got a bit much! She was absolutely lovely though and she’s going to come out and see me fortnightly after next Week in between my midwife appointments which is amazing! Finding it very overwhelming being almost 26 weeks, I think these next 12 weeks until induction are going to drag! X

@Kangaroo77 I've been feeling fine but just really really bloated! We are taking a slightly different approach as last time we had all the scans and still got bad news. Annoyingly we are away for a week at early scan time so I could either do 6+4 or 7+6 so we've gone for the later one as I'd hate to go and not see a heartbeat and ruin what will probably be our one holiday this year. Couldn't even drown my sorrows as it would be a come back in a week kind of appointment! Im not having harmony this time as last time it came back inconclusive and that could well be no indication of a problem but I know that if it happened again it would scare me. So we're going all out and waiting for the 12 week scan. I actually just had to put that back a few days as I'm really sure of my dates and I know the date they gave me would be a bit early (had an awful experience a year ago with sonographer saying baby too small and scan to difficult). It was a hard decision to make but I figure it would be much worse to get worked up for the scan, go in and be told I was 11+3 and it's too early.

I'm feeling less "desperate" this time. Not sure if it's because I worried myself sick last time and it was still bad news or if it's because corona has turned everyone's world upside down and made us more patient!

@Anon20something so glad the midwife assistant was kind and is coming out to see you, that's great. Sometimes I think we need to let it all out and just cry, it's no good keeping it bottled up. Fingers crossed the next few weeks fly by for you.

We had our 20 week scan today, the hospital was roasting and wearing a mask meant I was a sweaty mess by the end. But baby looks great, everything normal, nice strong heartbeat and another confirmation it's a boy, I think we can pretty much guarantee that now lol.

I'm also wishing the weeks would fast forward and we could just get to the end already. I had a dream last night that I was able to successfully breastfeed which gave me a nice little fuzzy feeling this morning. Updating my weeks too:

Feel like I'm having a bit of a wobble today. I'm struggling to convince myself that what "might" be fluttering is actually that, and that it's so indiscernible it can't be movement. Have read so much online today about what it supposedly feels like, and thinking "well I don't think I feel that". I'm 20+3 and I know it can start at different times. But I think having my scan so late (at 21+5), and a full 10 weeks since anyone has even checked me, is not helping my anxiety. Keep imagining the worst 😟

@Anon20something I agree - good to let it all out sometimes! I'm sure the midwives are used to it. Glad you're getting extra support.

@AnxiousLady1 I’m sorry to hear you’re having a tough time too. My movements didn’t feel like what anyone said! More like a poke or a pop every now and then. Baby is still quite little so you’ll not feel everything. Fingers crossed for a good scan, and if you are feeling worried give the assessment unit or the midwife a ring, they’re there to help. To be fair, I’m saying all this and as you can see from my posts this week, I’m an anxious mess! 🙈😂 X

Thanks @Anon20something. I think it's easy for me to work myself up because I don't really know what I'm looking out for. And when people say things like " Oh you'll definitely know", it makes me worry more that I'm imagining things. I'm still reluctant to call MW at this point, as I'd imagine I'll be fobbed off with the fact that movements might not be felt to nearer 24 weeks. I think it's just the long time between scans that's got to me as I worry I will get there and be told the worst. So being unsure about movement hasn't helped.

@AnxiousLady1 try not to worry - it’s only later on that you’ll really ‘know’ but even now at 26 weeks when I’ve been feeling him since 18 I still have LOADS where I’m like ‘was that him?’. I’m sure what you’re feeling is movement tho! They’d still put the Doppler on if you were really worried. I felt exactly the same between 20-26 when I saw my midwife and heard him on the Doppler. I’m not much help here, but I totally understand how you’re feeling and I’m sure lots of the ladies here do too.

Good morning ladies! Updating my weeks, can't believe I am actually in the 3rd trimester now 🥰 Had a midwife appointment yesterday and bump was measuring well. Got to hear babys heartbeat too which was lovely and strong. My blood pressure is a tad on the high side so they are going to monitor that over next few weeks but other than that everything is great!

@anxiouslady1 I still have moments where I question if what I felt was a kick. You could try a really cold drink followed by lying in a quiet room on your left side for a little while to see if you can notice anything. I tend to find if I am busy I don't notice her movements as much. Try not to worry (I know it's easier said than done)

How is everyone coping with the heat? I am literally melting already and it's only 8:30am lol!

@SammiLou2312 it's so hot! I ate 3 different icecreams yesterday and kept retreating to the bedroom with the fan on!

We're heading out today, I'm hoping to buy a silicone wedding ring, because mine is combat, so if it gets stuck on its the angle grinder for me 😂. Then we're good Ng to wander to a beach nearby and I'm going to spend as much time as physically possible in the sea. I'm seriously considering putting my tankini on and a beach cover up thing so I can just wander about in that to dry off!
