I bought an exercise ball fromTKMaxx so just bought whatever they had. I didn't look
Into height and I'm 5'9". It works for me and spent lots of time watching tv and crocheting on it!

As for my consultant I do only have to see her once more which is a blessed relief. I won't be taking any crap off her then as it's our last visit.
On one hand I want to complain to make it better for other women but on the other hand after we lost our daughter I put together a huge letter of feedback after some treatment was totally disgusting and I don't want to be the one who always complains as it's just not like me. It is exhausting writing it all down and going through the official channels. I hope I'll have the courage to give this woman feedback face to face. (Then run out the door and hide and never have to see her again).

Knotemma · 30/05/2020 09:40

@tmc14 I wasn't given any specifics and was told everything looks perfect, but flicking through my notes I noticed that the measurements are all over the place percentile wise. However I also know that growth is all over the place for babies and that it's not uncommon for them to have spurts, just like they will once they're out in the world. I don't think I saw a score for maternal doller and like @Avocuddles I'm not really sure what it is. Are you set to have regular growth scans? Please try not to worry yourself, but definitely bring it up with your consultant/midwife if it's worrying you x

tmc14 · 30/05/2020 10:03

@Avocuddles @knotemma thanks both. I wasn’t that worried about the baby’s measurements, the Doppler readings assess the flow of blood into the placenta. So a high reading can mean the placenta isn’t optimal. Doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a problem, just there’s more chance of one. I think anyway. I see the consultant at the start of July, I’ll try and relax & wait until then. If I can’t I’ll phone the midwife I think. Had awful nightmares last night because of it 🤦🏻‍♀️ I do have extra growth scans at 30 & 36 weeks because of my age & previous large baby. It’s just so hard isn’t it?! I want to just enjoy my pregnancy but just when I think im relaxing, something sets me off. @avocuddles I think not having the data is probably a really good idea!!

Knotemma · 30/05/2020 10:20

@Tmc14 I'm having growth scans at 28 and 35 weeks, but mine are more for my own reassurance because of my history than necessarily a medical need. I'm sure that I'll have scan anxiety when they come around, but I'm looking at the positives of getting to see the goblin more than usual. I've also noticed that some private scan places are planning on reopening more normally from 4 July, so may book something so that DH can come with me

tmc14 · 30/05/2020 12:56

@knotemma I did mean to say that I wasn't too worried about her being on the small side, but coupled with the high reading for placenta effectiveness, it makes me concerned. I didn't have this measurement taken with my son, and from reading about it I think it might be a newer way of assessing the placenta? I think I struggle with these absolute cut offs, above a number and it's an issue, but a bit below and everything fine?! I wasn't too keen on having extra scans (it's nice to see baby, but I don't like so much attention I think?!) but I think because of this I'm looking forward to the (hopefully) reassurance. I think also everything was geared up for my baby being too big, so this is all a bit confusing! Argh, I really do need to just step away from it, wait and speak with the consultant and try not to think about it. Easier said than done...

MummyMilla · 31/05/2020 09:31

@avoncuddles thanks for checking in. I started spotting on Friday night and now have full period, so I'm out again.

I'm going to see if I can get my eggs checked before trying again. I'm 39 and don't want to continue if it won't happen, and we've already decided that with 2 healthy kids, ivf doesn't feel like the right option.

Best of luck to everyone❤️🌈❤️

SammiLou2312 · 31/05/2020 10:06

@Avocuddles I bought this pregnancy / birthing ball (I'm just under 5'3) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07KXV8QLJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 but it looks to be out of stock atm. Came with a foot pump, measuring band so you can fill it to desired level for your height and an excerice booklet for different trimesters x

footprintsintheslow · 31/05/2020 11:47

@MummyMilla I'm really sorry to hear that. Time to be kind to yourself today.

Hagster · 31/05/2020 11:57

MummyMilla I'm so sorry to hear that. Best of luck with everything in the future and as @footprintsintheslow said, I hope you are kind to yourself and get well looked-after ♥️

SammiLou2312 · 31/05/2020 19:17

@MummyMilla sorry to hear your news, I must have missed your message earlier this morning...hope you are able to get some answers in the future. Be kind to yourself x

tmc14 · 31/05/2020 19:42

@MummyMilla so sorry to hear this. I hope you’re being looked after, and in time I hope you a supportive response from your doctor. Take care xx

MummyMilla · 31/05/2020 20:59

Thanks all for kind words.

Had a lovely day keeping busy and not thinking too much about it. Not bleeding too heavily and cramping is manageable. Day 3 was when I started passing clots (and was hospitalised) with previous MC and so I'm hoping that this isn't the calm before the storm. Hoping that being 3 weeks behind there just won't be much and it's almost like a chemical?

Do I need to tell my GP?

Avocuddles · 01/06/2020 07:22

@MummyMilla definitely tell your GP so that it goes on your medical records. I'm so sorry you're going through this again and hope that if do decide to try again the next one brings you your rainbow baby.

So I'm posting this currently from the maternity assessment unit. Had chronic heartburn again which wouldn't subside, when DH rang 111 they sent out our an ambulance and the paramedics decided they'd like to bring me in to be checked over. Baby apparently seems fine (lovely strong heartbeat!) and I'm just waiting for DH to pick me up now to return home. Still feel a bit tender / heartburny but have had several doses of gaviscon and need to come back later to collect an omeprazole prescription which will hopefully prevent any further chronic incidents. Everyone else in the ward is in the early stages of labour so feels a bit like being in a episode of one born every minute and a preview of what's to come in roughly 17 weeks time.....!

@MummyMilla I am so sorry to hear this, please look after yourself 💐

Hi ladies, how are you all doing? Going into my 23rd week now and I'm meeting the Dr whom I've requested to deliver the baby on Thursday! Apparently no scan, just a meeting.

I wanted to ask, I'm quite concerned as my belly hasn't grown for 4 weeks. Anyone else have the same thing? I know this for a fact as I measure around my waist (smallest area) as well as around belly button (biggest area) once a week to keep track. When I went for my 20 week scan he measured very well and actually quite big (head was 91 centile!). But isn't it weird that the bump hasn't grown at all? 😕 also weight wise I'm up 6.8 pounds in total since before I got pregnant, this isn't very much according to the pregnancy weight gain calculators (too little)? Anyone else have the same thing? I was at normal BMI before.

Anyone else also really tired still in 2nd trimester? I need a nap after lunch 😂 it's lucky I'm working from home! I feel good but just need a nap during the day. I've read you should be super energetic in the 2nd trimester and I am for a while but need more rest than usual still 😅

Knotemma · 01/06/2020 08:07

@SunStruck glad your getting to meet you doctor, hope it goes well. I'm currently up 7 pounds from pre-pregnacy, I was just at the upper end of normal BMI. I think everyone gains differently, we might be the type of people who mostly gain in the third trimester, or we just might not gain much. When I saw the midwife last week she seemed very happy with my weight etc, so I'm not concerned. I've never had my fundal height measured, so can't help you there, but Indo know everyone carries differently, when I'm standing my "biggest area" is now above my belly button. Feel like my bump is moving up rather than out at the moment.
Are you feeling movement yet? At this stage that's probably a better indicator of what's going on than size, especially because you've managed to stay so active through most of your pregnancy.

@Avocuddles sounds like you've had another exciting day 🙈. Glad you're ok and that you've been given a prescription, the omeprezol definitely helps me when I can get it down.

Whiffle77 · 01/06/2020 08:31

So sorry to hear your news @MummyMilla I would definitely speak to your GP so that it is on your record. Make sure you look after yourself, and take some time to recover.
Oh @Avocuddles you have been through the mill! Glad all is ok though, and bump is looking good. Hope you feel better today.
@SunStruck good luck meeting the doctor. I wouldn't worry too much about bump but you can always mention it to the doctor or your midwife if you are concerned. From everything I have read weight gain varies massively between people, and it is not linear at all. So as @knotemma says you might suddenly boom in your second trimester! Or you may not need to. I am nearly 14 weeks and have only put on a pound. However I was about two tone heavier than my fighting weight, so I suspect I have probably lost some wine weight at the same time as putting on baby weight! My whole body shape has changed and all was ok at scan so I'm trying not to worry. As you are active you will probably put on less weight anyway.
I am feeling a lot better this past week, anxiety has been better and no longer feel sick. Tiredness is hugely improved although I am still sleeping for longer than usual. My tummy has also really popped out all of a sudden! I have looked bloated and fatter than normal for awhile but all of a sudden it is a different shape and quite hard! Still just look fat though so looking forward to being more bumpy!
Finding the thought of going back into a bit of normality and seeing people both exciting and anxiety inducing. I have got quite used to being in a little bubble at home with no demands on my time except work!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and happy Monday

Whiffle77 · 01/06/2020 08:36

Sorry, boom in your third trimester not second!

SunStruck · 01/06/2020 08:36

@Avocuddles lovely bump! 🥰 sorry to hear about the heartburn, that sounds terrible! I haven't had any yet thank god, hope this doesn't mean my baby is bald 🤣

@Knotemma thanks for your reply! Yeah he is currently kicking a lot and I feel him lots in the evening so should be fine, I just think it's weird the bump isn't growing if he is! But you're right I'm very active and train 5 days a week so maybe I've lost some weight myself but he's putting it on still ha-ha! No wine makes a massive difference 🤣🤣🤣

SunStruck · 01/06/2020 08:39

@Whiffle77 thanks for your reply too! Yes I'm sure I'll boom in the third trimester, I just have to! 😂 Lovely to hear that your bump has popped ❤️

Whiffle77 · 01/06/2020 08:46

No wine makes a HUGE difference!! Every time I am stuffing my chops with beige food I think "well I'm saving all the wine calories I usually have" 😂 this weather is really making me miss the wine!

Been a bit MIA as we’ve been moving house! Into week 23. Baby boy is really active which is lovely and reassuring as lack of movement throughout was a big warning sign last time (she stopped moving completely at 30 weeks). The heat is killing me though! Got my midwife appt in a weeks time and another scan with my consultant at 28 weeks.

@MummyMilla I was sorry to read your news yesterday. Hope you are doing okay, and as others have said, it is worth reporting it to your GP so it is on record and you can hopefully get the answers you need when you decide you want them. xxx

@Avocuddles - fabulous bump pic. Your hartburn sounds like an absolute nightmare. Fingers crossed for that beautiful head of hair so it will be worth it. x

@Sunstruck - I'm 17 weeks and mentioned the weight gain/bump measuring to my midwife last week. I've always had quite a slender frame so it was something I was wary of. She said that many put on the majority of their weight gain in the third trimester, and to not worry or track it at this point. Thye will focus on the baby's groth and measurements, and if these were okay at your last scan then I wouldn't worry. Baby takes what it needs from you. She also mentioned that how they track your weight depends on your BMI to begin with, and if you are keeping fit throughout the pregnancy you likely won't be carrying any 'extra' weight. Also - someone on another thread mentioned their bump concerns to sonographer yesterday, and they were advised that the baby is placed quite far back, so they wouldn't expect to see a big bump out front until much later. Perhaps this is the same?

@Anon20something - Congrats on the house move! The heat is bothering me also. My bigger fear at this point is the mozzie bites though. I HATE summer, and I'm allergic to mosquito bites. Have at least one per summer where I will have a fever and an entire swollen limb. I'm obviosuly more paranoid about it currently as this would be far from ideal while pregnant too. I've been hiding indoors for the most part and keeping covered at night - which doesn't make for a comfortable sleep in this heat!

Whiffle77 · 01/06/2020 11:08

Well done @anxiouslady1 it's been talked about for weeks but no one had done it! Thanks.

I'm feeling like I need to start list making, has anyone found a good list of things you need to buy for baby? I know I can google but always nice to have views on it! I dont mean brands or whatnot, I just want to make a list of what I need so that then I can start to research and decide what we want, although I wont start buying for a few months
