Hi everyone wanted to pop in for added support. I mc in April this year literally 4 weeks ago and found out I’m pregnant again two days ago at 10dpo. I had a digital positive yesterday. Very nervous and having period style cramps

Hello, please can I join?

I MC in March at c.8 weeks. It was a pretty traumatic experience right at the start of lockdown (so I was alone in hospital throughout). Started to miscarry, then really bad bleeding & clots. Kept in overnight and scanned the next day, sonographer said everything was gone and I was sent home. Bleeding started straight away, more huge clots and a obs/gynae friend told me to go back in. Heavy bleeding continued until I passed out, they then performed an emergency op with gas & air (there was a load of tissue still there) and I needed a blood transfusion. This all happened at the end of March.

Background to me: I'm 39 and have two boys who are just 9 & 6. Youngest is recently diagnosed autistic. We'd been trying for a while for DC3 after a bumpy few years with DS2, but didn't happen and so we reconciled it wouldn't happen. Then it did. Was a bit panicked but came round to the idea, then MC.

We'd both decided after MC that we wouldn't try again, not least because of the pretty serious trauma I went through. Planned to get coil fitted once lockdown restrictions lifted. Had ONE shag (!!!) and found out on Tuesday I'm pg.

My head is still swimming tbh. I felt really excited initially, but now I'm beginning to panic. DH and I both trying to pretend it's not happening, I think for fear of another MC more than anything. Any words of wisdom from you lovely lot?

Hi @2020wish & @MummyMilla welcome & gentle congratulations. Every one of us in here have had lots of rollercoaster emotions with being pregnant after loss. It’s a very supportive place, I hope you find it as valuable as I have. Good luck to you both.

@MummyMilla I’m 20 weeks today & still partly ignoring it all! I think it’s very usual to defend yourself. After my scan yesterday I’m starting to slowly get used to the idea that this might work out. If you need to not think about it for a while, don’t, that’s ok.

@ACWesty welcome and very sorry for your loss 😔 google is your worst friend! I was the same early pregnancy. I live abroad too, in the Middle East 😄 I'd say step away from google and try to occupy your mind on other things, easier said than done but those early weeks go by soooo slowly and you're just going to make yourself go crazy!

@MummyMilla gentle congrats from me too and sorry about your traumatic experience! I think just continue your life as usual and keep busy those early weeks (I can imagine you are with 2 boys already!) because I literally felt like the first 12 weeks were 12 months!

Think I’m going to have to leave as quickly as I joined... I think I’ve lost it again :( digital today was negative even tho it was positive on Friday... I dunno how to feel

@SunStruck yesss google certainly wrecks your brain.
A dr has given me a script to get 10x HCG tests so i can (hopefully) watch the numbers climb and put my mind at ease slightly!!
I definitely need to get back in to a hobby!!

Its great that there is support groups / forums like this- im having a 2020 facebook break! Pleased to have come across it!!

Aww I'm sorry @2020wish - there's no right or wrong way to feel, it's really rubbish 😔

I had two chemical pregnancies after my first miscarriage (positive tests followed within days by period and negative test) - I remember finding them tough and that they felt very unfair.

I dunno why this is happening :( I have a 9 year old. My partner has 4 kids from a previous relationship but we have had 3 loses this year? I’m so heartbroken I dunno if I can do this anymore

@tmc14 @SunStruck thank you for kind and encouraging words. I am feeling really brilliant today having just completed a 5k run (a challenge I set myself after the MC). I think I am just going to continue focusing on keeping fit and active and hope for the best.

@2020wish I am so sorry to read this. Can you contact epu and get it checked? Maybe try one of the regular tests too as I have heard the CB ones can be a bit temperamental? x

@2020wish I'm so sorry you're having this rollercoaster. The digital ones can have a higher HCG threshold so it might just be that you're still too early for it to be consistent, but I know that if it was positive on Friday that won't help how you're feeling. I'm so sorry you're going through this. ♥️

After 2 days of being an anxious wreck because baby boy wasn’t moving as much, he’s not back flipping 😂 so much movement for just 22 weeks! Feel SO relieved, ended up in floods of tears to my other half saying the drs must’ve got it wrong, thinking he had what lily had, or that something had happened. Pregnancy after loss just makes you doubt so much doesn’t it! X

Sorry I've not caught up with thread. I'm still pretty ill but not in pain any more so hoping its getting better. I've also started having quite a lot of yellow discharge (from my vagina - just in case I have to specify as I learned after talking to that doctor) - has anyone had this? I'm worried it's a sign of some sort of infection. It doesn't smell bad. I'm probably over-worrying but just taking so long to get over this stomach bug is freaking me out.

@MOGMOGMOG85 I've noticed lots of changes in discharge, some days it's clear, sometimes white and sometimes more yellow/cream. I've not noticed any odour or had any discomfort, so I'm pretty sure it's just normal. Pregnancy 🤷‍♀️ it's so glamorous

@MOGMOGMOG85 I had similar, including one scary day when I had a LOT at once. And I mean a LOT (tmi sorry). Panicked I was losing the mucus plug but when I spoke to the midwife she said it's totally normal as long as it doesn't smell or hurt (smelling is a sign of infection, not too bad as long as you get treated). So sounds unpleasant but normal to me!

@2020wish sorry your tests have been inconclusive, hope you have a definite BFP very soon.

@MummyMilla welcome and I hope that this is an uneventful pregnancy for you! The 'denial' approach is definitely one that most of us here are familiar with, after you've experienced something so traumatic i think it's probably impossible to ever feel relaxed about early pregnancy again. The only thing I can suggest is to try to keep busy but that's easier said than done at the moment! Meditation / mindfulness can be useful when the negative thoughts get overwhelming - try insighttimer.com for some free guided exercises to help with relaxation. This group has been a godsend to me during this pregnancy so far - after challenges TTC and two miscarriages I was in a very low place but you can always rely on this awesome group of ladies for support no matter what.....

@ACWesty you are definitely not crazy!!!! My symptom spotting in the first 8 weeks or so was obsessive and constant, I'm pretty sure everything you mention is perfectly normal and dodgy bowels were definitely a key feature of my first trimester! Even now at 22 weeks I'm spending an unhealthy amount of time consulting Dr Google - as a high risk pregnancy I'm particularly paranoid about things relating to that, as well as having some days when general anxiety is very overwhelming. The key thing is to talk about your concerns as holding them in is rarely helpful, be it to us or to a doctor / midwife. I've lost count of the number of times I've spoken to a medical professional so far in this pregnancy and imagine there will no doubt be more to come! I hope you managed to have some relaxing time this weekend.

@Avocuddles Thanks so much!!! I have been to the drs more in the past 10 days then i have in the last 5 years!
Also pregnancy, birth and baby hotline (1800882436) & Health direct (1800 022 222) have been absolutely incredible at answering my questions, giving me advice and reassuring me!! Highly recommend using these services!!

Its comforting to know that im not alone with dr google.
We are all warriors and im really trying to remind myself to trust my body!!

Ive had two cycles since my d & c and im so emotional... so i can completely imagine how your feeling!! Congrats on your BFP.

Very emotional and hopefully exciting times ahead. Im just going to sit on my yoga and mat, cry and sing along to The Voice in the mean time 😂
My husband comes home for two weeks tomorrow before his deployment. He has no idea what a crazy woman hes coming home to!!

So speaking of anxiety, I've spent the past two days freaking out because I couldn't feel any movement (had been feeling it for about a week or so now), wondering whether to call the EPU or just wait until my 20 week scan on Friday. Convinced all had gone wrong, once again I'd be going down the negative path etc., had even managed to persuade my husband of it.

This morning, baby is kicking a LOT, totally different place to before. Has clearly been on an adventure round the back of my womb the past couple of days. Little @#&£$.

Well I guess this is good preparation for parenthood 😂🤦‍♀️

Updating my weeks, 20 weeks as of yesterday! Can't believe I'm half way through already. @Hagster - I've updated you as well for today... Ah, I'm still having hardly any movements, it was bothering me but she's measuring quite small (although luckily within normal range), not like my chunkster son, so I'm not surprised she has more space in there. I felt her quite a lot last night but nothing yet today. Looking forward to when she's more regular so I can panic about lack of movement too!

@Hagster @tmc14 my movements have only started to ramp up in the last week, there wasn't really anything discernible at all before 20 weeks other than 'fluttering day, now it regularly feels like she's kicking me around my bikini line though haven't manage to physically see any from the outside yet. Each time she starts getting active I grab DHs hand but that's a sure fire way to make her stop! 😂

A couple of words seemed to disappear there....was supposed to say fluttering a few times a day....
